'this world is not for you' being the first thing you see when loading into bedrock.zip and 'this is not for you' being the first page of house of leaves. i love parallels
This map functions more like a prison. 1. The map is all bedrock. 2. Its a twisting maze. 3. The map actively changes. 4. Normal survival is difficult 5. You cant change to creative or go online (almost like its trying to keep something in) 6. You. Are not. Alone.
this is so good. i love the throwback at the end, when veil says "you aren't asking the right questions," to the first interview with aqer and he says "you aren't asking the right questions," it makes me question so much!! i love this video
This video is astonishing. The "Haunted" segment REALLY was like a punch to the gut, turning everything you DIDN'T THINK WOULD BE A CHEKHOV'S GUN INTO A CHEKHOV'S GUN. I'm going nuts over it as I'm typing this.
@@billl6636 i dont fully get it myself. what i was able to decipher was that this is an infinite loop of people getting under the red ark, and instructing others to do so aswell. im guessing that Veil wasnt the first. this whole video's lore seems so simple yet complex. i very much dig it lul
@@Octol1ng yeah, also after watching the infinite house and the looting 161 shipwrecks video, it seems time-loops are a reoccuring motif on this channel.
i took it as Veil2_ actually IS Zeemyth, the ending taking place before the whole thing (Aqer's original interview with Veil) and Aqer repeating the same things to Zeemyth in the future. It's weird, thats for sure
I'll admit, was skeptical at first. Thinking this was an ARG coverage, or something over the top that I've seen before. But this had me hooked & actually inspired me in a way I haven't been for a long time. This is storytelling in Minecraft done absolutely fantastic! You sir have earned my subscription.
Im glad that there are people out there who still make quality content that you cant expect from bigger youtubers due to them being busy "surviving 100 days".
When at 20:00 you broke bedrock and it went to the footage of Veil from the beginning, and comparing the hotbars of when you jumped and he landed.. i was shook. the cinematography is on point, all foreshadowed but not spoon fed, i applaud you, Zeemyth, for i may not watched you before, but this is a definite 10/10 and a subscription for future projects.
At the beginning, you can hear him saying "I wonder if it's actually Veil to Blank" (or whatever the line is at the end) right after its mentioned that the bedrock is not a new sight. You won't even understand what's being said on a first watch, and details like that are always nice to see. Unless you commented this, I wouldn't have also(?) gone back to look.
i'm just curious about the whole end section, because like. from what it looks like, the footage from the forum of the world that starts the whole thing off seems to almost be from zeemyth? like, from the ending it almost implies thats him in the footage, but the hotbar from when he's breaking the bedrock and the hotbar in the video is different, so i'm still unsure exactly what it is that's going on lol
THIS WAS INCREDIBLE!! The realization that you were veil didn’t hit until the very end, and it put me in such a state of shock and awe- and then, you became the one leading people down the path of the bedrock. This is absolutely insane, incredible work
Reminds me of an old ARG that I quite literally cannot find anywhere across UA-cam. This dude's friend got stuck inside of Minecraft, and the video depicted the guy recording looking for him both in Minecraft, and in real life. Still have not found this video since I watched it over 5 years ago.
@@teencrisis4750 I still cannot find it to this day. It was really cool, and I watched it all the way back around 2014-2017. I think they may have deleted it or something.
@@frostbyte6251 If you find it, tell me what the name of it is. I've tried looking for it on multiple separate occasions and have not been able to find it. I distinctly remember the guy having a decent amount of subscribers. If you need more information I'd be happy to describe the video based off of what I remember.
this is such a cool little project dude it really conveys the wonder of just scrounging around a Minecraft world and finding weird shit. love the house of leaves references hope you get more recognition soon
I couldn't tell if this investigation was entirely fabricated or real, thats how good it is. Knowing your content history it probably is but its genuinely good i couldn't tell.
I could, bro really just used /give and didn't think to use it to its fullest, or treat this like an escape room and horde everything he finds but really, it was some fantastic cinematography, if with a couple plot holes
this is well produced. The only thing I have gripes about are the shaders vs video compression. The darkness always makes footage grainy and crunched down, despite setting youtube to 1080p.
@@Zeemyth I’m a professional videographer & editor, I’m familiar with the struggle. Keep at it, I’m sure you’ll get it. Reaching out to others who seem to have it is my best advice.
Def gonna work at that, rn I’m thinking a lot of it is about the contrast which I’m gonna focus on, luckily I just got my hands on a really nice lighting tool as well
have you tried the "1080p premium hd"? apparently youtube added that as an option and it says it has "enhanced bitrate" idk much about video to know if it would help with what youre saying tho
Minecraft horror/thriller that does not use stickbugs with sharp teeth and glowing eyes, parasites, screaming, jump scares, or blood and gore? This is amazing! Any plans to share the map? Also, why did you never eat your food? I would have been so tempted to eat the Golden Apples if I were in the situation.
I am just thankful that you made something original instead of “I survived 100 days with Assimilated Midnight Fog Dweller and Herobrine in a Parasite Outbreak in Hardcore Minecraft.”This reminded me a lot of the MyHouse map from Doom. One of the best modern horror experiences in my opinion.
@Daralexen that was actually a huge inspiration for this idea funny enough! After it came out I came up with an early version of this story but shelved it for a while
I mean, there's a lot of minecraft horror without those things. It's the "ARG" ones. Oldroot, don't look at the moon, old minecraft reuploads, any of the "Minecraft Archive" channels
It is sadly not as popular as FNAF-level jumpscares from mobs that look like they were designed by 5-year-olds and Sonic.exe versions of Minecraft mobs.@@UltraCenterHQ
I've given this a watch like 5 times and I am enamored with the concept here, it's been a minute since I've been this invested in something, and you've effectively left me starving for more. I've done some digging and I noticed some comments on the inspiration from House of Leaves which is a book I've never read, so in the meantime, I've just bought a copy of it to read while I wait for the next video. Keep it up, I have a feeling the sequel is going to blow up.
My good sir you and Garfilled are the only ones so far that managed to create horror/thriller Minecraft videos that genuinely caught my attention. You have earned a subscription and a good luck on your future projects, i hope to see other incredible videos like this from you in the hopefully near future
No wonder Garfilled is the one he needed to keep an Eye on in Redacted SMP more than anything else. Even if I STILL think all of those lanterns are evil...
Looks like someone read House of Leaves recently... Funny thing is I was thinking "This is very House of Leaves" the whole way through and then you played Haunted, a song which is a companion piece to the novel. Eager to see where you take this!
Years ago actually, It just goes so hand in hand with locational horror and here and there I try to make a visual story that gives it justice. My favorite book easily
really impressed that this works so well. it's like. a creepypasta that's shot like a documentary and edited like an SMP lore video, which isn't a combination we would've expected to enjoy. well done! (that's not a backhanded compliment tbc, we love genre-blending type stuff)
so! VIDEO ANALYSIS! Firstly, I checked on the minecraft forum, the Veil2_ user and posts with the text "Left under the red arch" do not exist (I just decided to make sure). Secondly, as usual, in the Zeemyth style, anomalies, impossible buildings. Thirdly, I'll go straight to the ending - Veil2_ uploaded a video from Zeemyth (or Zeemyth is Veil2_. I'm still not sure). Fourth, Zeemyth, on the Veil2_ server, apparently communicates with Veil2_ itself (I may be wrong) And Zeemyth for some reason in the Aqer skin (Veil2_ is it Aqer? Or is Zeemyth an Aqer? Or all at the same time?). Fifth, an interesting detail! Zeemyth (or Aqer?) says at the end that Ordisi8 sent him the card. Although in the beginning, the card was sent by Ordisi9. Does this mean that Zeemyth is the ninth person who entered the map? Or it's the ninth... A round? Hm... I hope there will be a sequel to this video that will answer most of the questions. And remember... 𝙸𝚝'𝚜 𝚗𝚘𝚝 𝚊 𝚕𝚘𝚘𝚙, 𝚒𝚝'𝚜 𝚊 𝚜𝚙𝚒𝚛𝚊𝚕.
oh man, i don't comment much on videos but i absolutely LOVE the House of Leaves inspiration this video has, from "this world is not for you" to Haunted by Poe, and the labyrinth like structure of the bedrock stronghold. this is beautiful, i need to see more content like this
Dude I cannot express how genuinely impressed I am with this video. the ending was such a good way to enlighten the viewer on what’s happening and I’m just blown away with the quality of this and the false docuhood this video achieves, it tricks you into watching a “documentary” when in reality it’s telling a story. holy fuck I love this, I’ll never forget it genuinely. I cannot say that about a lot of videos
Wow thank you so much, I’m so glad how well the realistic or moreso immersive style worked for the experience, I’m just super happy the vids getting a chance to get in front of fans of things like this
I've found your chanel a while ago and im still impressed by your story writing talent. I like the little details, like the house in the "Why you never see herobrine" video being the same as the "Why I went PAST the FARLANDS in Minecraft" one (The tall one made with planks and glass). Keep up the good work, you are criminally underrated.
I was extremely intrigued about what this is, after reading the comments I finally got it was an arg, and in the end that YOU are veil. Now that I start thinking about it its the step noises, and your step noises and it starts making much more sense my GOD, also the detail how the start of flytrap is literally when he mines in the maze, great videos my dude
At some point in the middle of the video I thought to myself "Wow, this reminds me of House of Leaves in Minecraft." and then I get to the last bit and HAUNTED STARTS TO PLAY. Props to you! that was really well done and fun
This is an underrated masterpiece holy crap! Hits like it's 2012 again and I'm scared of Herobrine lurking around corners. (spoilers) The bedrock closing in on you legit had me holding my breath clutching my chair!
I love how Ordisi9 was the one to give you the .zip file and was the one who made the comment about the chest. So far I haven't seen anyone else talk about this, there are so many layers to this and I love it! Edit: at 9:02 you can hear him swimming up even though there isn't any water (idk if this is just because of the shaders and I can't see it). This probably isn't important to the main story but it really adds to the uncanny feeling this bedrock stronghold gives!
> Edit: at 9:02 you can hear him swimming up even though there isn't any water (idk if this is just because of the shaders and I can't see it). This probably isn't important to the main story but it really adds to the uncanny feeling this bedrock stronghold gives! I *think* there is water there (since I can sort of see some wavy stuff that comes from how some shaders render water) and it's just not showing up well due to the rendering of the video. I could be wrong though.
I absolutely love how you opted to make the world itself the threat in this video. It made it feel like at no moment were you safe, as though you had chosen to venture into the belly of the beast to dissect it from the inside.
I genuinely thought this was a documentary, insane level of quality and storytelling, stellar on the horror aspect and definetly a breath of fresh air from all the Minecraft big creature horror we've had the past few months Although it might never happen, I'd love to see more of this concept because I still have so many questions, but who knows, maybe those are better left unanswered! Amazing job
I usually dislike commenting, but between the wonderful production quality and (what I assume are) references I felt like I needed to. Especially when Haunted played at the end, I can't explain how it felt to hear it fade in after seeing all of the oddly familiar ashy bedrock walls and structures shifting like they're alive. Anyways, really cool :D
Interesting note: at 2:06, when Aqer says "...Aqer on...", it sounds like Acheron, one of the five rivers of the underworld in Greek mythology, generally of the lowest part. It also means a "river of woe".
genuinely thought this was a documentary until i saw the stairs in the labyrinth. super duper creepy, and despite what some may think, i find the mystery of what is left under the red arch to be super cool- if someone finds out, and tells others, then that ruins the fun of it. keep up the good work 👍
Something noteworthy is how in the Aqer interview, he was willing to talk about his name and possible origins. Perhaps it is because he didn't know the interview was about Veil, but it is interesting he was willing to answer that question that might seem pointless to Zeemyth, instead of answering a question that wasn't right. Asking about names would then be a right question. Perhaps a right question would be the meaning of other names too, like Veil. Perhaps this flytrap of a .zip file is some veil for something else, or that the mystery (or the result of answering it) is a veil so the flytrap can consume its prey.
This was a really well made project, it really feels like a video covering some sort of ARG or mystery, and it has a perfect sense or dread and horror without relying on loud noises or monsters Its also super realistic, to the point I could not tell if it was real or not at first, besides a few details which felt too perfect Only real nitpick to the story is using /give you could just Give yourself the TNT and items needed to break bedrock But overall I loved this film
I grew up watching and reading about the og creepypastas, I´m so glad that teens nowadays can have their version warms my heart. Also, it´s been a treat to watch it, really well made, really gave me "The house of leaves" flashbacks, it´s amazingly well done, congrats!
hey i just watched the video, dude this is literally amazing and extremely well made. music choice is on point and map is also very well made and built. you deserve billions of subs.
Yoo thank you! I swear music is like 40% of my work process. I’ll spend hours trying to find new tracks or albums and seeing what OST artists let folks use their music. Also oxenfree just bangs
this video managed to encapsulate an energy that's so inexplicable and it has done it so well. the best way i can describe it is when you're playing an old game, abandoned to time, and you figure out ways to break it, to then explore places outside of the borders you should be in, the borders where everyone played decades ago. Except you pulled it off so that behind those borders, there's actually more. It started off as a documentary, to then slide into the point I didn't even know what was going on, plus all that with hint of nostalgia that such an old world gives you. extremely good video, 10/10
I never thought that I'd see the day when a video on a Minecraft ARG would feature the narrator showing us him actively solving the ARG. It's a nice break from the usual. Not only that, but everything about this is amazing! Stellar job, man! Earned yourself a new subscriber!
Your videos have always blown me away, but this video legit made me so nervous. Your content is amazing and I hope you know how interesting these videos are. Your such an underrated creator and I hope to see more!
Great video, I'd love to see more stuff like this. Absolutely setting a standard. HOWEVER it kind of pulled me out of immersion at 18:30 when you didn't just /give yourself tnt and whatever else you needed like I love the storytelling here but oh my god that felt dumb. Again, really want to stress that the video overall was absolutely fantastic, I'd love to see more from you in the future with stuff like this. Edit the first: last thing I wanted to say is that I think this video could have done well if it was in a longer format, just to flesh out some questions that never really seemed to be answered, like what the absolute f*ck is the deal with your creepy ass interview stairs?? What the HELL is going on with Veil's server?? How about the fact that blocks placed in your worlds are placed in bedrock.zip? Admittedly longer style videos do seem to make some people refuse to watch some videos, so why not make this a series? I'd imagine it'd be something akin to Anomidae's INTERLOPER series. But, that's just me lamenting on the fact that this video isn't longer because I want more of this high quality content Edit the second: yooo looks like my wish was answered lets goooo Edit the third: I'm really liking this "Edit the..." thing I'm gonna keep it going
go check out his other videos, this one seems to be a separate one, but he's got a series going with a pretty similar atmosphere, it's super cool. the 100 days in an infinite house video is like genuinely one of my favorite minecraft videos
This was genuinely one of the best piece of media I’ve ever seen, the whole experience was phenomenal I was constantly in different states and the video the whole time was masterfully guiding me through everything. Every emotion every little bit of worry and the highs of fear too. This one video, a literal Minecraft video gave me an experience that I have never fully felt until now. For this I greatly thank you, this has been a life changing moment.
This is fantastic!! Reminds me of all the best parts of audio mysteries like archive 81, or the white vault. The suspense, the way things double back, the little tricks in the audio to make everything come together. My heart was racing like wild when the long hallway was shown, and then the name following, then the CHASE-- SO good!!!! Really, just fantastic. Thanks for all your hard work making this, and thanks for sharing it with all of us. I had a blast
So, what do we have here?.. If main character (Zee) got into the "time spiral", it means he IS Veil, and with that he was back in the time when the map was played the first time? Could it be that the Ordisi is the previous bedrock.zip player? I want to believe that I know the right questions to ask. First: "Who is Veil2_?" Second: "Who is Ordisi?"
This was really engaging and i admire to be on the same level of story telling as you. I had very few issues but i did notice a decent number of continuity errors like dying with all you stuff, then going back with your stuff in the chest, then ghe next time you died it just dropped on the ground. Just things like that but overall it was great
@@Zeemyth Was the difference in the hotbar between 'Breaking' and 'Still' intentional, or was that a continuity error? 'Cause it's really throwing me off in terms of what I think the ending is meant to imply.
Up until the moment when the bedrock world "mirrored" your singleplayer world, I genuinely thought this was another ARG-covering video trying to keep up a mysterious atmosphere. The ending is somewhat simple yet it hit like a (admittedly small) hammer. The only two hiccups were leaving the /give command not expanded upon in any way (Would the world screw with you if you tried to abuse it? Did you decide it's not worth the risk?) and the fake ass "fall" down the hole at 9:08. Other than that (and shit compression, but that's more of a YT issue I think), it's an amazing vid.
I've watched this twice now. after seeing house of leaves mentioned in the comments, I found a copy in a thrift store, and I'm about to start reading. Thank you, for this video, and for exposing me to a book I am very excited to read :]
At first I genuinely thought this was a documentary about a real Minecraft lost media. I do want to point out that there are some sequences that felt missing or broken throughout the whole video, some weren't properly explained, pieces/plot points that weren't properly established, and dialogues that sounded structureless. The progression of the video felt iffy in that case, information seemingly been left out or doesn't connect to some of the pieces presented. The direction, cinematography and sound design was beautiful. While it isn't exactly of the same quality as a full fledged documentary film, it gave me the feeling of such. The way it was directed is definitely following that of a documentary film, and it was done in such a way that wasn't too gruelling yet comprehensive and progressive. I really enjoyed how the character was able to connect the puzzle in a slow progressive sequence, each slowly giving answers while not withdrawing curiosity. I also want to mention that I can see the Nexpo influences lol.
I think you really nailed the tone for this video, the pacing is excellent to the point that I rewatched the video twice just to make sure I was really understanding what was going on. I do agree that there are some plotholes that others have already pointed out, but I think they're pretty easy to ignore when you think about the overall quality of the storytelling here. defo giving house of leaves. I can't wait to see what you make next !!
Hey thank you! It’s rough cause the big supposed plot hole was just me editing something the wrong way even though I intentionally knew what I was doing
@@Zeemyth I honestly wouldn't have noticed it if I hadn't read the comments, and I don't think it's apparent enough to take away from the rest of the video. you really did an awesome job :D
This would be such an amazing life action movie! someone finding some video on an old, not used anymore forum about a dark place (the red arch and stuff) and their stuff that they made (idk what they are... archeologist? designer? just something idk) are there, like the things that they made with the newest things in it like a random scratch on a wall, all in a mellenials old place, and so, this person contacts people, like you did, and every one of them leave a single letter, an adress, once all the things are in place, this person and his friends who he dragged into this, has put in the most logical order, and boom they got an adress.... they go there, a young lady (somewhere late 20s) answers the door asking how she can help them, and then they ask about someone named Veil, shes in shock, asked them to come inside, and tells them how he was her son, not knowing she is actually really young to have a kid, especially when the kid was 10 she says and veil dissapeared 5 years ago, she doesnt realise shes actually that young, and they leave with the house behind them crumbling to dust, the mother just smiling and waving to them, and then the shot slowly switches to the crumbles spelling a date, while slowly fading out, END TRAILER (without them knowing, thats the release date of the actual movie) anyone knowing hollywood producer or smth? im signing up for audition👍(hopefully u like the idea.... spend half an hour just writing the trailer XD)
This video is absolutely incredible. I've yet to see any kind of content like this in the Minecraft scene and as a result have become a new subscriber to Zeemyth. Seriously, fascinating work. Because of how engaging this video is, I kind of want to take a crack at what I think happened at the end there. My questions with the video largely began at the start of the "Still" chapter, mainly as a result of the drop in video quality, the change in hotbar, and obviously the strange glow past the "Red Arch." With a small amount of investigation, I think I've come to the conclusion that this video has an "endless loop" type of storyline/ending. The reason I say this is because of the way that the footage of "Still" lines up with the footage we are shown in "The Investigation Incipium." Go back and watch both pieces yourself first. In Incipium's footage (which, mind you, despite being posted by Veil is not actually Veil's footage, as the person recording says, "I wonder if his name is actually Veil 2 Blank" indicating that they are a person other than Veil themselves who does not have such knowledge), the recorder walks up some stairs (speaking what was said earlier), looks slightly to the right, stares down the walkway on the left, passes through the throughway in front of them and comes around the corner looking left towards the window. In Still's footage, the exact same events occur, down to the movements and the words that are said. The only difference is that a) the voice is Zeemyth's instead of the original recorder's and b) we see more of the footage following the window. There's obviously some sort of repetition going on here. The other question to ask is, "who is/are the other victims of this repetition?" I would say that's Aqer, not only because he's basically the ONLY other person in the video besides Zee and Veil, but also because he seems to want to keep Zee away from the investigation as a whole, as if he completed one of his own and was scarred or scared by what he found. There's some evidence to this idea, too. - The fact that his voice almost perfectly matches the Incipium and Veil interview videos, meaning he probably looked for Veil himself after Veil told him about the world and discovered something horrible under the Red Arch. - The fact that his and Zee's as well as his and Veil's conversations are exceptionally similar (which is something the video almost expressly points out). Ultimately, I think that there's a larger force at play here (if that wasn't obvious already) which may be trying to bring players under the red arch for some unknown reason. The main reason I say this is because of the odd Discord user that Zee receives the bedrock.zip file from. The user, who has no pfp and no previous messages with Zee, is named Ordisi9. The Veil interview mentions the person who gave Veil the bedrock.zip file, which he says was named "something like Odyssey8." Ordisi9 and Odyssey8 are strikingly similar, except for the increment in number. Perhaps the number represents how many people have walked under the Red Arch and discovered what is behind it. We also see other seemingly malicious forces at play in the video itself, primarily with the strange flipping of a lever by seemingly nobody and the "tunnel segment." Whether this is connected to Ordisi9 or not cannot be stated- maybe it's Veil in some way trying to stop Zee's investigation before he reaches the Red Arch? Overall, I love this video. That's the big takeaway.
I find this analysis pretty engaging to I decided to add some theory of my own (that might be just a streych) but I've found out that "Aker" is a name for an Egyptian deity that is supposed to be some kind of underworld god and a guardian/gatekeeper of it. As the normal Minecraft dimension is called overworld it would mean that by getting under bedrock we are going to the underworld. Aker is really similar to Aqer, that's really the reason I've found that interesting. I also don't really understand Aqer's action in the video as he gives Zee clues and the server IP but at the same time tells him to stop the investigation (if I understand that correctly). I think there could be some kind of meaning to the nickname "Ordisi" but I don't really have a clue.
ordisi9 is also present in the forum thread where veil posts the initial messages. i definitely think youre on the right track with this though, i originally thought zee WAS veil somehow, not realizing that the footage early on that syncs up with the end footage had different voices but the same words, rather than being completely identical. the conversations in the respective interviews i think are the key that it's like, some kind of scenario loop, everyone who enters bedrock.zip goes through the exact same experience, down to what they say and how they perform in the world, and then continues outside of it. i think aqer had his own exploration of the worldfile, and whatever happened to him past the red arch did something, and caused him to then perpetuate the cycle by answering zee's questions the same way the previous person did for him in his interview.
This was the first video I saw of yours before going through the rest of your content, and your storytelling is honestly just great You really do know how to use your medium and still make the acknowledgement that your playing a game and still make it intimidating, can't wait to see more from you ^^
i wish this becomes a multi part series since i wonder if you can get to creative by manually editing the world from the world menu and could all the haunted stuff be all just a datapack made by veil as an elaborate troll?
This is probabaly the best short film with such a huge twist, that no one could have predicted. It made me have goosbumps. Also Damn if this post was real, it would have been a 6 year anniversary.
this is... genius. Some things really are confusing, but its just beautiful. I love the impllication, that veil was already saved at the time of the time of his post. Everything already happened, but the whole video wasnt watched yet, so how can you know? This gives me some unexplainable time loop thingy vibes. The veil interview after rescuing him, prompting him to go into the stronghold, to find the thing. Him then getting stuck, and making that post. And everything repeating itself. Even with that, it feels like the timeline of this thing isnt even linear, as said earlier, he got rescued in the video he posted, but the rescue comes after the video being posted, even being the reason the rescue came in the first place. I bet this sounded insanely autistic but god is this good. In some other commennt, i saw that part of the inspiration for this was house of leaves and it definitely gives off that same vibe, that same kind of mystery. Part of my experience with HoL was that i had no idea if the thing is real or not. Exact same thing happened with this video. God i loved this.
Oh my GOD is this incredible!! Please consider doing more of these, As an illustrator I just watch videos to have some white noise and thought this was an ARG coverage, but for ONCE in a long time I had to stop doing my commissions for a moment to watch this glorious thing!
This stuff is Nexpo levels of quality, I really only caught on this wasn't an actual documentary until they reveal of the multiplayer stuff affecting the single player world. Had me hooked to the end still!!! Incredible work!
holy shit this is amazing. like, this is genuinely art. it has the plot and pace of a short film you could present in film school. nicely done, cant wait to see more.
This is genuinely one of my favorite videos on youtube, i've watched it like three times and the production quality is phenomenal. Kept me invested each time!
damn, this was really cool. i like the idea of a living map that fucks with you. it feels like all the bedrock there is kind of just another way of screwing with you, youre playing minecraft but very little is actually mineable and usable. good job, this was sick. just wondering about the ending, who was talking in the interview there? it sounded like it was zee and aqer, but from the filename it seems like an interview with the guy that went missing? it seems like the forum guy that eventually sent zee the bedrock world file over discord was also respondible for sending the world file to veil? and then he showed aqer, based on the voices, who then eventually talked with zee in the same way, but im not 100% sure.
This whole video is nice and all, I genuinely love it, I do. But at the end, when Veil's voice changed to your's... Holy shit... That was shock factor at its finest. I hope to see more from this BEDROCK.ZIP story. Keep up the good work, Zeemyth.
very cinematic and I love how you used a lot of the things an actual player would use, f3, check for cheats, try to set it to lan, etc... The attention to detail like that made this incredibly enjoyable.
at 9:56 you didnt need to respawn, you needed to get up as high as you can with the cobblestone blocks DONT place the door, add the slab as high as you could while still being able to be jumped on, jump on it and place the iron door and while crouching only jump once, so you could mine the slab and get back up and keep doing this process till you got back up
THat ending, bruuuuh when I heard "You're asking the wrong questions" and then "Well, what are the right questions?" mind blown. Was hooked start to finish, amazing story telling my dude, you have by sub.
@@Luigitrix12 At the end of the first interview the main character asks the guy "Well what are the right questions?" in response to "You're asking the wrong questions" and the video interview at the end is the guy who was interviewed, now in the same position being told he's asking the wrong questions, prompting him to ask "Well, what are the right questions?" To quote George Lucas: “Again, it’s like poetry, so that they rhyme. Every stanza kind of rhymes with the last one.” The start mirrors the end, and it comes full circle with the end mirroring the start ^_^
Genuinly the best minecraft related video i've seen in months , im tired of all the other trash that comes out these days , incredible job . Do your best and continue doing those kind of vids !!!
I love whenever Minecraft takes a scarier, more mysterious turn, and this video gave me absolute shivers, The fear, terror, and uncertainty of this mystery was explained so well, and has earned you my subscription!
20:53 This might be a stretch but this reminds of me of the Death of the First Born Egyptians. In that bible story the plague that kills the first born of Egypt passes over all houses with lamb's blood painted around the doorframe (hence Passover)
DAMN, THIS IS SO UNDERRATED and i didn't even actually understand the ending lol I only have one problem with this video, which is that i believe the mystery in question should've been fleshed out more, like, it took some time for me to get that veil is missing, and why would anyone assume that he's missing(After all, having a single weird post isn't enough to make anyone guess that this person disappeared out of the face of earth), you kinda of just rush to the investigation. But this is an amazing video nonetheless, good work

At the beginning, you can hear him saying "I wonder if it's actually Veil to Blank" (or whatever the line is at the end) right after its mentioned that the bedrock is not a new sight. You won't even understand what's being said on a first watch, and details like that are always nice to see.
Unless you commented this, I wouldn't have also(?) gone back to look.
i'm just curious about the whole end section, because like. from what it looks like, the footage from the forum of the world that starts the whole thing off seems to almost be from zeemyth? like, from the ending it almost implies thats him in the footage, but the hotbar from when he's breaking the bedrock and the hotbar in the video is different, so i'm still unsure exactly what it is that's going on lol

I love me some locational horror, it’s just so much more curious when a threat isn’t human
I genuinely thought this was a documentary, insane level of quality and storytelling, stellar on the horror aspect and definetly a breath of fresh air from all the Minecraft big creature horror we've had the past few months

genuinely thought this was a documentary until i saw the stairs in the labyrinth. super duper creepy, and despite what some may think, i find the mystery of what is left under the red arch to be super cool- if someone finds out, and tells others, then that ruins the fun of it. keep up the good work 👍
Something noteworthy is how in the Aqer interview, he was willing to talk about his name and possible origins.
This was a really well made project, it really feels like a video covering some sort of ARG or mystery, and it has a perfect sense or dread and horror without relying on loud noises or monsters

this video managed to encapsulate an energy that's so inexplicable and it has done it so well.
the best way i can describe it is when you're playing an old game, abandoned to time, and you figure out ways to break it, to then explore places outside of the borders you should be in, the borders where everyone played decades ago. Except you pulled it off so that behind those borders, there's actually more.
It started off as a documentary, to then slide into the point I didn't even know what was going on, plus all that with hint of nostalgia that such an old world gives you.
extremely good video, 10/10

Edit the first: last thing I wanted to say is that I think this video could have done well if it was in a longer format, just to flesh out some questions that never really seemed to be answered, like what the absolute f*ck is the deal with your creepy ass interview stairs?? What the HELL is going on with Veil's server?? How about the fact that blocks placed in your worlds are placed in bedrock.zip? Admittedly longer style videos do seem to make some people refuse to watch some videos, so why not make this a series? I'd imagine it'd be something akin to Anomidae's INTERLOPER series. There’s a few continuity errors definitely that I wish I caught, but that isn’t actually one of them
@@Zeemyth Was the difference in the hotbar between 'Breaking' and 'Still' intentional, or was that a continuity error? 'Cause it's really throwing me off in terms of what I think the ending is meant to imply.
Up until the moment when the bedrock world "mirrored" your singleplayer world, I genuinely thought this was another ARG-covering video trying to keep up a mysterious atmosphere. The ending is somewhat simple yet it hit like a (admittedly small) hammer.
The only two hiccups were leaving the /give command not expanded upon in any way (Would the world screw with you if you tried to abuse it? Did you decide it's not worth the risk?) and the fake ass "fall" down the hole at 9:08. Other than that (and shit compression, but that's more of a YT issue I think), it's an amazing vid.
lmao yeah the hole fall is one of the parts that does break immersion a bit just because of how silly it is
I've watched this twice now. after seeing house of leaves mentioned in the comments, I found a copy in a thrift store, and I'm about to start reading. Thank you, for this video, and for exposing me to a book I am very excited to read :]
Oh man that’s exciting! You’re gonna have a good time if you like stuff like this
At first I genuinely thought this was a documentary about a real Minecraft lost media.
I also want to mention that I can see the Nexpo influences lol.
im comfused now- it went from Documentary to Haunted house explorers TO A CINAMA
😆😆that’s the goal

Ay thank you! I mean to be fair I was going for as much realism as I could make, I’m really happy folks don’t feel duped by it
I think you really nailed the tone for this video, the pacing is excellent to the point that I rewatched the video twice just to make sure I was really understanding what was going on.
@@lowqualitysleep luckily it was done with future parts in mind, I’m ready for people to call it retconning but it’ll make more sense
My questions with the video largely began at the start of the "Still" chapter, mainly as a result of the drop in video quality, the change in hotbar, and obviously the strange glow past the "Red Arch."
With a small amount of investigation, I think I've come to the conclusion that this video has an "endless loop" type of storyline/ending. The reason I say this is because of the way that the footage of "Still" lines up with the footage we are shown in "The Investigation Incipium."
Go back and watch both pieces yourself first.
Best analysis yet🫡
This was the first video I saw of yours before going through the rest of your content, and your storytelling is honestly just great
You really do know how to use your medium and still make the acknowledgement that your playing a game and still make it intimidating, can't wait to see more from you ^^
Insanely impressive. Mindblowingly high quality, this is so well produced
🥲 Thank you so much
@@Zeemythno problem! I just found it a little unclear near the end or maybe i missed out on something - but very good video
i wish this becomes a multi part series since i wonder if you can get to creative by manually editing the world from the world menu
and could all the haunted stuff be all just a datapack made by veil as an elaborate troll?
i hate to say it but this videos not real my guy
Its entertainment anyways, right?
You're not asking the right questions. You need a new point of view.
@@rufel37exactly no ones is saying but me and you. What are the right questions?
13:48 bro this shit just became bedrock subway surfers💀
Omfg I hate you 😂😂
what...
BEDROCK SURFERS 😭😭😭
subterranean surfers
this has got to be one of the most creative, well-developed, thought provoking videos I've ever seen... Absolutely phenomenal job! :)
Ayy thank you so much!
@@Zeemyth of course dude! Thank you so much for replying, means a lot :)
Love it! The narration mixed with "real-time" monologue gives me cool Alan Wake vibes, particularly paired with the oppressive atmosphere.
8:47 omg the way that (inexplicably teal) door distorted due to video compression gave me a mini heart attack.
Truly an incredible film. I didn't realize it was a time loop until the end meaning we were Veil the entire time
This is probabaly the best short film with such a huge twist, that no one could have predicted.
The house of leaves references and vibes were on point. The tongue in cheek detail to end it all with Haunted by Poe was amazing. Outstanding ❤
That piston really caught me off guard. Great work my man!
Oh my GOD is this incredible!! Please consider doing more of these, As an illustrator I just watch videos to have some white noise and thought this was an ARG coverage, but for ONCE in a long time I had to stop doing my commissions for a moment to watch this glorious thing!
Yoo that’s genuinely so cool wow, thank you!! I’ve got some insane plans for this story, do not worry
@@ZeemythYou got yourself a new subscriber, I cant wait to watch you grow!!
Zeemyth, please, NEVER stop! This is such quality content, I literally had to go get popcorn halfway through to finish watching! ❤ 🍿
😭wow that’s too frickin kind thank you!! So cool that it felt that much like a movie
Danggg thank you so much!!!
Somethings going on there
This whole video is nice and all, I genuinely love it, I do. But at the end, when Veil's voice changed to your's... Holy shit... That was shock factor at its finest. I hope to see more from this BEDROCK.ZIP story. Keep up the good work, Zeemyth.
🙏Funny enough I had a friend ready to voice act that until I tried that with my proxied voice :D it was too good not to do
very cinematic and I love how you used a lot of the things an actual player would use, f3, check for cheats, try to set it to lan, etc...
Low key confused, why is it mind blowing
@@Luigitrix12 At the end of the first interview the main character asks the guy "Well what are the right questions?" in response to "You're asking the wrong questions" and the video interview at the end is the guy who was interviewed, now in the same position being told he's asking the wrong questions, prompting him to ask "Well, what are the right questions?"
To quote George Lucas: “Again, it’s like poetry, so that they rhyme. Every stanza kind of rhymes with the last one.”
The start mirrors the end, and it comes full circle with the end mirroring the start ^_^
Genuinly the best minecraft related video i've seen in months , im tired of all the other trash that comes out these days , incredible job .
Do your best and continue doing those kind of vids !!!
🫡 things are getting better, people are trying new things
@@Zeemyth there still are some cool vids coming out but youtube itself is falling apart
in my opinion at least
I love whenever Minecraft takes a scarier, more mysterious turn, and this video gave me absolute shivers, The fear, terror, and uncertainty of this mystery was explained so well, and has earned you my subscription!
5:13 how the hell did that scare me so bad? It's an extending piston
SAME 😭😭 idk either, just really unexpected ig
God I just cant with how good this damn arg is. I literally feel nauseous from how awesome it is 😭😭😭 I wish the fanbase for this arg was larger.
20:53 This might be a stretch but this reminds of me of the Death of the First Born Egyptians. In that bible story the plague that kills the first born of Egypt passes over all houses with lamb's blood painted around the doorframe (hence Passover)
DAMN, THIS IS SO UNDERRATED
and i didn't even actually understand the ending lol
I only have one problem with this video, which is that i believe the mystery in question should've been fleshed out more, like, it took some time for me to get that veil is missing, and why would anyone assume that he's missing(After all, having a single weird post isn't enough to make anyone guess that this person disappeared out of the face of earth), you kinda of just rush to the investigation.
But this is an amazing video nonetheless, good work
Yo thank you!! I see what you mean and think I agree too. I really like adding only necessary information for the experience when I’m writing this stuff, but I think more context would have def helped
@@Zeemyth Is the context in other videos or is this video it's own story?
I also don't get the ending 😂
@@SuperKoMa-gir8L i think its kind of like a loop, where veil's video causes other people to go through the same journey as him, as the end of Zeemyths jouney perfectly connects to Veils video in the start
Nice to see a quality horror RP again I have been looking for awhile now.
Looking forward to more from you!
Holy fudge, okay I thought this was going to be a compelling ARG but that... was a masterpiece.
I don't usually comment on videos like this but I am just surprised and baffled, was one of the most exciting watches I've gotten for awhile now. Kudos to you!
:D yo thank you so much!
I finished watching all your videos just now and holy hell.. what you have right here is something very, very special.

Idk why, but if there’s one emotion I could describe that this video evoked, it was “I am not safe”
Honestly i bloody died at 5:17. If i saw that lever flick i would of alt F4ed immediately
