I want to try and find a better ARG to cover next. I don’t watch Minecraft arg content so I didn’t realize this one was so generic. Hope you enjoyed it anyways tho :)
there's definitely a few things that just plain don't make sense with this story. Like… why does the mod send all these important files over to where their subject can read them? Why do the stone men appear in the subject's world if the only point of the mod is to find potential candidates for the project? Why does it post all those debug messages that can then tip off the potential candidate? Why even make stone men to house these people's bodies in the first place? Why do it in minecraft? Why play the sounds to the player?
Im guessing the stonemen are meant to stay hidden but this specific one was able to be seen and heard from time to time and everytime the player looked away an automatic safe command runs trying to hide the statue again, hence why sometimes it causes errors and the chat mentions things its not supposed to
fun fact about 12:04 : "assets" is the folder that typically contains models, textures and sounds. It has structures. normally this would be in the "data" folder, which doesn't exist. furthermore, if assets was to be replaced with data, that still wouldn't be the right place for a .json file, as normally .nbt files would be there. .json files for structures are instead located in worldgen/structure(s) just random minecraft nerd nerding out dont mind me
I can definitely get that. I think it's nowhere as bad as a couple other stories which do similar. I think the story could've leaned more into the subtlety of more worldgen and asset making. Lots of room it had to do mystery.
I one time watched a minecraft ARG coverage video about a dude who gets trapped in a loop in Minecraft. And I read a specific comment on that video that said something like "Imagine if there was an ARG about two guys who install a structure mod that adds in new structures, but there are strange new structures that aren't apart of the modpack and it's too late once they find out." This Minecraft ARG reminds me a lot like that.
20:04 man, I'm such a nerd. I thought out loud, that it may be base64 and it IS. I regret nothing about learning the FNaF lore and watching Game Theorist videos for 4-5 years now

ive been getting sick of these ominously titled minecraft arg videos but I always click on the ones made by you and you've chosen some really interesting ones so far
This is some fantastic editing and scripting. Seriously, this was a treat to watch. The story itself kind of just okay, sadly. It has some potential with the stone man stuff but then it just shifted gears from the paranormal to a "secret society that kidnaps people" thing. If you're gonna do a underground research project, why use Minecraft as your main method? Aren't there better options? (Granted I guess your Minecraft world being haunted by Satan is equally questionable, but the paranormal need less explanation IMO). Also man sometimes I wonder how much of a pain it must be to decode thing after thing after thing just for one image. Cutting the ASCII code in half was clever and interesting, but then it devolved into "Decode binary to decode ASCII and morse to decode a spectrogram to decode binary again to get an imgur link to continue the story". Like man, where does it end? I wish more ARGs had actual puzzles like the cutting in half one, and finding details in the videos that grant hints that you piece together. Not decoding rabbit holes...
Actually the one line in the intro reminds me of a story my dad told me, I know nobody asked but I figured I'd put this here. "What happens when someone creates a mod as bait? A lure? Designed to drag its victims to an untimely demise?" When my dad was younger he made cheats for multiplayer games, I forget which games specifically but I think a few of his cheats may have been for counterstrike 1 or something. Super nice presentation and editing job for this video!!! Something that i'd have liked to see would be maybe at the end going over plotholes and such? As other comments have pointed out, the jump from "mysterious giant statues appearing in a mc world" to "People's consciousnesses are being trapped inside minecraft by a shadow organization" was a bit jarring, and during the video you did point out a lot of questions about what happened, so i was expecting that at the end all the hanging plot threads would be summarized. Like who uploaded the videos to the yt channel, and why is there a year of difference between the recording and upload dates, who put all the codes in the descriptions (And why would some shadow organization just hide data behind random chains of cipher like that) , why put digital consciousnesses inside of statues , and then somehow spread those statues across mod downloads online... I could go on, but I don't want to rag too much on someone's arg project like that I understand if you don't want this sort of negativity with your coverage videos, it's just something that popped in my mind during the video because you brought up some questions like that after analysing the videos , and its something I don't really see at all in ARG coverage videos. Of course its better for immersion to not keep deconstructing potential plotholes, but something at the end perhaps? Anyways tangent over, still your video's great, keep on doing what ur doing
