there's definitely a few things that just plain don't make sense with this story. Like… why does the mod send all these important files over to where their subject can read them? Why do the stone men appear in the subject's world if the only point of the mod is to find potential candidates for the project? Why does it post all those debug messages that can then tip off the potential candidate? Why even make stone men to house these people's bodies in the first place? Why do it in minecraft? Why play the sounds to the player?
Im guessing the stonemen are meant to stay hidden but this specific one was able to be seen and heard from time to time and everytime the player looked away an automatic safe command runs trying to hide the statue again, hence why sometimes it causes errors and the chat mentions things its not supposed to
im guessing its due to the extra .jar file in the mods, which is a fabric installer, given the timeframe there's a good chance the structure mod didnt update yet, meaning a code error in the fabric install caused it to bug out and make the text visible due to a debugging error, if those errors never happened, Ivan wouldn't have ever checked the files and discovered the dox information.
The thing could be a way to see exactly how a subject would physically interact with being put into and being transferred between multiple computers, and also how it can send and recieve data, such as visual, auditory, and likely tactile (pain) senses, which would allow them to figure out how to manage that in a human mind while having people live in virtual worlds, like testing the waters especially when hotswitching between games, codes, engines like unity or unreal, etc.
about the "why do it in minecraft" thing: i reasoned it out that the kidnappers need some sort of popular external program so that people won't be suspicious when they download it, and the kidnappers also needed a POPULAR program, both to capture a large amount of test subjects & to throw off police/investigations. after all, if a brand-new program came out & every single missing person used it, that's infinitely more suspicious than every victim playing a beloved, extremely popular game that countless other people have played
It's a Minecraft ARG. It's something people who aren't good at story telling come up with. Minecraft is low hanging fruit, since it's target audience has REALLY low standards for storytelling quality or even just critical thinking.
This is some fantastic editing and scripting. Seriously, this was a treat to watch. The story itself kind of just okay, sadly. It has some potential with the stone man stuff but then it just shifted gears from the paranormal to a "secret society that kidnaps people" thing. If you're gonna do a underground research project, why use Minecraft as your main method? Aren't there better options? (Granted I guess your Minecraft world being haunted by Satan is equally questionable, but the paranormal need less explanation IMO). Also man sometimes I wonder how much of a pain it must be to decode thing after thing after thing just for one image. Cutting the ASCII code in half was clever and interesting, but then it devolved into "Decode binary to decode ASCII and morse to decode a spectrogram to decode binary again to get an imgur link to continue the story". Like man, where does it end? I wish more ARGs had actual puzzles like the cutting in half one, and finding details in the videos that grant hints that you piece together. Not decoding rabbit holes...
at the very least, this one doesnt seem to curveball, it already tries to dox ivan near the start and clearly understands what its going for, i suppose it also makes sense to a degree why they'd use a Minecraft mod out of all things, its subtle, its random, they need fresh subjects, so getting a repository of info to a bunch of potential targets is a viable answer, the only reason why ivan even discovers the truth is cause the mod bugged out (probably due to that fabric version he used near the start), so what would've been a completely discreet mod that was hiding malicious code accidentally got revealed to him
Well trapping people in minecraft structures using mod that adds these structures to test ways of achieving virtual immortality still is definitely a paranormal story. At least when it's not even trying to explain how it was supposed to be possible.
I can definitely get that. I think it's nowhere as bad as a couple other stories which do similar. I think the story could've leaned more into the subtlety of more worldgen and asset making. Lots of room it had to do mystery.

I thought Gabriel was coming back for revenge at 1:42
Adapted Swordsmachine lookin' ahh
"And it explains why it disappeared while Ivan wasn't looking at it"
Me: "Like a weeping angel?"
Next chapter : "And it wept"
Me: "Oh."

The editing is immaculate 👌

Greatly edited! :)
I hope there is no strange shadow cabal in the end, too many MC horror videos go that route.
EDIT: Well, at least it's a somewhat new take on it? Anyway, good work.
the editing in this video is beautiful
S-tier editing and presentation
incredible editing and scripting!
1:43 who tf uses MM-DD-YYYY?! 😭😭

i know it may its scary af but if i was a stone man and a player was close to me i'd probably say smt like
"Wsp bro, u wanna free stone?"
