Oh yeah man for “SFMC” in the Desert Storm 1991 campaign when it came to the USMC F/A-18D I made the right choice to select that of VMFA(AW)-121.
Lovely 😍 . The D for night targeting
Twin seat fighter.. in generally twin seat 💺 fighter used in ground attack at night not one seat
How did you get white phosphorus rockets for the f18?
We fired Zunis, and then set white smoke to go off when the Zunis were in the air
@@IrisAviation91 what trigger is that?
@@tylernofts2607 phosphorus ignites when it meets oxygen and creates a very hot smoke cloud, and because of the heat, it rises quickly and high. that is used as a TRP or target reference point. the other aircraft will que on this and corrections can be made to put booms on target.
@@tylernofts2607 Something called smoke marker?
A bit of sleight of hand if you will, we set up some triggers, specifically unit inside zone (under conditions) then set a smoke marker on the zone(in actions) and just pulled up to hide the rocket impact and the smoke spawn
Good vid, stop with the CGI.
Thanks, but DCS helps with the storytelling.
