I was in this battle. 20 year old specialist on an M1A1 “Wolfpack 7” 3rd squadron 2ACR. We destroyed 2 t55’s and 2 T72’s. While the sand storm was going on we couldn’t see more than a few hundred meters in any direction. After the tank battle died down we became the pow collection point. We pointed the back of the tank towards the pow’s to help keep them warm with the turbine engine, fyi the desert gets really cold at night. My boss the squadron command sergeant major Tom Nestor and I dismounted to clear the bunkers around us while my gunner and driver over watched the pow’s. A couple of years later, my LT was doing some platoon movement classes for our troop, and he started talking about this battle....when me and a couple of my buddies from Knox, looked at each other wide eyed, and then spoke up about our SDS's stories he told us. An E7 walked by the troop window as we were talking about him and mentioned him by name to us, as a question. Thats because to win, you must have the political will to win. CIA itself states that coups and rebellions, no matter how much funding and training, are only possible if the political will is there. Liberating Kuwait had plenty of political will. The US had no problem with that Invading Iraq because Israel didnt like them does NOT provide much political goodwill. Iraq is at the end of the day, had a much bigger threat to face which was ISIS. The rebels mostly ignored the Americans and fought ISIS, before asking the Americans to leave politely which they did lmfao. Its kinda funny cus come to think of it, Iraq couldv gotten Japan treatment and couldv been a superpower on the level of Saudi Arabia, if it just asked for it lol. Hard to do that when you sever the nations head and abruptly install a democracy without time to let em adjust. Sadam did as much bad as Hirohito had, but was treated like a terrorist for it. Nice video. Good story and good animation. I was a USMC tanker with TF Papa Bear that went up the middle of Kuwait during DS. I know its not easy for someone who hasn't lived it but I would suggest learning the actual fire commands to up the realism. As stated before I am a Marine but I seriously doubt the Army guys engaged in the corny dialog either. One other suggestion to add to realism is for the tanks to maintain their interval. Tanks closer together than 100 meters apart is asking for disaster, especially in the desert. Hope this didn't come off as too harsh because I did like the video. Just wanted to give a couple suggestions to add to the realism from someone who went there and did that.
@Autobotmatt428 Getting rid of tanks, snipers, reducing artillery and infantry. There are some very bad decisions being made and the price will be paid by the men on the ground.

As a fan of Greatest Tank Battles I must say I am mighty impressed. I've been wondering for a while how long will it take to see your take on the Battle of 73 Easting. Guess the day had finally come. I also recommend people to go visit this particular episode of Greatest Tank Battles. While GTB:s tank animations and sound effects are mostly better, overall your graphics are not far behind. Your video excells greatly in environmental and especially human facial animations which GTB completely lacks. It really makes me think how far you have come from your humble origins. A "tiny" Yarnhub video studio is competing with a large Breakthrough Entertainment and in many ways you surpass this much bigger studio. I see a great future ahead of you. Like I said, I am MIGHTY IMPRESSED. Well done Yarnhub!

Wow, this video on 73 Easting is absolutely top-notch! The attention to detail and the engaging narration make it a standout piece. I appreciate the in-depth coverage, and it's evident that a lot of effort went into producing such a high-quality video. 👏
Unfortunately we did lose 1 man, Sgt Nells A. Moller(RIP) from Ghost Troop, when his Bradley was hit by a 73mm round from a BMP-1, which was thought totally destroyed.
@innelator6941 Agreed. The Grom 2A28 was not exactly the most accurate "gun" in the world, but luck can happen to anyone. Even a close hit by an old 73mm Grom round, when 2/3 of your body is hanging out of the commanders hatch with binoculars, its not going to end well for anyone.

When Tribble had to reload the missles, I actually started to get up holding my cat like I was loading the launchers, except, instead of TOWs being loaded, a cat was being held in the air for no reason. I felt the panic of having to get out to reload. Good job with these vids! Edit: My cat: “Why tf do you do this?”
My only gripe is the M1 doesn't have that distinct whine of its turbine. Also, the loader uses a knee switch to open the blast door. Besides that, this is a great video. Awesome work!
I love the quality of this animation, it has seriously improved. Also, at 4:05 the loader doesn't actually push a button to open the door. There is a knee pad under it when pressed opens the door. Though I could be wrong I never really looked into the M1A1 line of tanks only the M1A2.

Edited for clarity: In 2011 I served with a guy who was part of this battle, he was stationed in the 25th to operate a Stryker MGS as only tankers can operate the cannon so that's why he was attached to Infantry. He was 51 when I met him and it was his last year in the Army. Really nice guy, and an excellent tank crewman. Glad to see some in depth visual of what he was a part of.
The execution these guys play on their videos is outstanding. They definitely have my attention throughout the entire video. The animation is great, beautiful voiceover, and the stories they cover are truly inspiring. I think they are overall better then Simple History 😂

I find it incredible on how far we have come from late 2022 in terms of quality of these videos. Speaking of which, absolutely loved the video. My dads brother was a tank driver in Desert Storm. It’s like the mess the government made out of rolling thunder and the complete success of linebacker in veitnam using pretty much the same equipment and nothing that couldn’t have been done in rolling thunder. Linebacker accomplished more in 4 months than rolling thunder in 4 years.
Thats because to win, you must have the political will to win.
CIA itself states that coups and rebellions, no matter how much funding and training, are only possible if the political will is there.
Liberating Kuwait had plenty of political will. The US had no problem with that
Invading Iraq because Israel didnt like them does NOT provide much political goodwill.

I was there during the battle of 73 Easting. The carnage was unbelievable. As a medic we rotated with the troops during the battle. Sadly several soldiers in our medical platoon committed suicide years later.
Was it that battle that pushed them over the edge or just the whole experience of that war?
Was not over there but am a vet of the Storm. I had Sappers that were there. I went to Ft. Leonard Wood a year & a half later and received mine warfare trying & the stories were were extremely scary that scared the hell out of us. The mine fields were nothing short of diabolical. If it wasn't for the aerial campaign, 5,000 Combat Engineers would have been DEAD. Not wounded, dead.
So, my greatest kudos and honor goes out to you. No matter what campaign a soldier is involved in, war is an ugly thing. Foreign AND domestic.

I also didn’t like the cheesy dialogue.
I was under the impression that the tanks were that close together to form and armored wedge.
