My conclusion: It's truly impressive what kind of high-quality recordings one can achieve with their iPhone 15 Pro. One significant influencing factor on the quality remains lighting conditions. In proper, well-lit environments, for instance, ProRes recordings are notably sharper than any other mode. However, in darker conditions, the Standard Mode provides significantly more detail.

One thing bothers me and that is a weird motion-vector disturbance on moving objects. Pretty good visible on the girls' arms and also the deer head. Could it be the gimbal or some software related thing?

Sure, its slight visible at 0:04, left shoulder/head that warps with the background palm. This is on ProRes, but also visible on Cinematic mode. A better and more dominant example is at 1:37, when the deer lowers the head. You can see a lot of motion warping between the antlers and the background. Maybe its just a personal perception but it kinda popped into my eye when I watched the video for the first time.@@Nico_Lehr
@@sithmaster Good eye! I suspect it's due to the Cinematic Mode. I also have the same effects on my phone, but not as pronounced. However, I don't see this effect on the original recording on my phone.
@@Nico_Lehr Interesting. I will have a little shooting next weekend and going to test if I have the same wobbles. What I turned off in the iPhone cam settings (even when using Blackmagic App) is the stabilizer. That seems to be an extra thing aside to other stabilizer settings. Will see.

er... I am really sorry. But honestly, I... just don't see much diffirence between log and normal. And is it worthy for alot of time to color grading log footage vs standard one? I mean for the normal users usually do.
Certainly! I agree with you! For most applications, the standard camera is ultimately sufficient. I've also written a few things about it in the video description that caught my attention.

the background is very distorted when the object moves. at 00:06 it is clearly visible on the girl's hand and on her skirt
Me esforcei pra ver alguma diferença mas pra mim proress 422 log e normal saiu a mesma coisa não vi uma função que compense pagar mais caro e ainda gastar com armazenamento externo além de dar mais trabalho pós filmagem se mudar alguma alguma coisa seria algo imperceptível

Cinematic mode needs to recognize a subject before activating (easiest on faces). It's not for landscape shots. Then it adds a fake shallow depth of field. Love the calve on the beach!
