    What size instantpot duo crisp would I nee to take a whole medium size chicken ? Thank you.

    • @CookingandCalm
      @CookingandCalm  Рік тому

      Hi there, I only have the big one (8L). I should think a medium can fit but if you're thinking of using the airfry function much, the basket will be pretty small on the 6L. If you have a Lakeland near you they might have one in stock so you can see 'in person'. The 8 is a bit of a monster but gives a lot of flexibility and you can still cook small portions in there using 'pot in pot' so if you have space and cook a fair bit, I'd tend to go for larger one. Sorry that's not a very straightforward answer - I tried 🙃

    great! looks super delicious and easy. Can I use air fryer with water in it? I was trying to drain the water.

      @CookingandCalm  Рік тому

      I don't think Instant Pot recommend it (check your manual) but if it's only low level liquid like this and I'm popping the lid on just for a bit of crisping, I've not had a problem.

    Hello from the US. I discovered your UA-cam channel after looking for recipes for my new Duo crisp. I think this will be the first recipe I use when I unbox it. Could you please tell me the amounts for Honey Lemon mustard sauce and how much stock? I really enjoy your Innovative money-saving techniques. Making my own bouillon from dehydrated vegetables is revelatory. I will keep watching. Thanks for the great content!

      thank you so much Wendy and a big wave to your from over here in there UK!
      For the sauce I use 1 tablespoon of wholegrain mustard, juice of 1 lemon , 2 teaspoons of honey(to your taste) plus 1.5 cups of stock. I hope you are enjoying your Crisp - it takes some getting used to but is so much fun to cook with!

    This is such a great tutorial. I'm picking up my duo crisp this evening. One question... could you add the broccoli into the sauce in the pot before you broil at the end? Or would it be undercooked after 10 minutes?

    • @CookingandCalm
      @CookingandCalm  2 роки тому +1

      Hi there- how exciting! Hope you enjoy playing around with it.
      I tend to do my broccoli separately as the high pressure is too much but I haven't tried doing it as part of the broil at the end. I'd think you might be able to cut the florets quite small, place on top and give them a spray with oil for a roast broccoli kind of thing. I doubt they'd cook in the liquid itself, but there's only one way to find out... let me know if you try it. I'm always keen on getting to the one pot for everything!

    Do you have a conversion tip for recipes that call for a regular air fryer? Anytime I look up recipes for my IP airfryer I get regular air fryer recipes and I heard you aren't supposed to follow those for an IP air fryer. I'm assuming it would just be a lower temp and shorter/longer time if you're using an IP airfryer. Sorry if this is confusing!

    • @CookingandCalm
      @CookingandCalm  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Heather, no it's not confusing at all and I totally get it. I've used the IP Duo Crisp Air fryer, the Vortex and the Mini Vortex- what I find is that they are all a bit variable and I find the best thing is to just treat your air fryer lid a bit like an oven door - take your best guess at timings and temperature based on the Instant Pot App or similar, then keep peeking. In time you get more of a feel for it and it's so small that opening and closing the lid doesn't affect the cooking time much as it reheats so quickly. You don't have to cancel the programme - just lift on and off . I hope that helps.
