  • This is a day in the life on an employee at ALDI during the Covid. The date on the camera is wrong I didn't know how to change it. Oops hehe. Also for all you mask people out there I recorded this when the pandemic had just started. Masks were not mandatory yet. Hope you enjoy my first video.

I still struggle with the boxing after nearly 4 months, I'm way too ocd and slow and I feel like my team hates working with me but I can't find the right balance with speed and making things look perfect, if you have any tips it would be really helpful!! what i recommend (even though i just started working at aldi a few days ago) is really just try and make it look full as possible but also neat. so if there’s room in a box with certain items take the items from the box above and fill it, that way the chances of it falling is less!

The training process is pretty smooth they’ll let you know everything you need to know most new employees I’ve seen just box and clean or shadow cashiers to experience the level of speed they’re looking for. Aldis generally have a smaller staff so speed and efficiency is really what they like to strive for but don’t get worked up if your not fast super quick. It’s all a learning process and you’ll get better with time. I’m one of the fastest cashiers in my store and a good tip is to learn your scanning codes as quickly as possible, it’ll help the process of cashing out go much quicker. Hopefully this helped a bit

Yup if I do decide to work at Aldi I'm going to find one where there is more than 3 people who work there. If it's only two employees there then you're gonna have alot more work to do

You are a robot a slave if you work for Aldi! You are being timed for everything it’s ridiculous. No second chances you will get fired on the spot.

Just seems like so much work for one person and at only 16.50 an hour? And it’s not even all the work you have to do. It’s being timed, which is shitty! I now fully understand why Aldi’s is ALWAYS hiring!

not at all. a lot of cashiering jobs have you doing multiple tasks like this and on top of that, you need to be constantly standing for 5,6, sometimes up to 9hrs a day all for close to minimum wage. at least here in the u.s., aldi's pay of $14 is amazing when a lot of degree jobs only pay $9-10.

Yes I know we‘re use to grin about cheap discounters as Aldi, Lidl or Norma here in Germany but the time has chgd as there will be now 100 applicants on one open job at Aldi or Lidl. They pay good money and have great social performances.
Keep up the smile and have fun there ( no matter you are ALDI employee or not 😄)

Yes I agree, always keep an eye as they scan and check the receipt. There is times things don’t get charged or can accidentally get double charged if the cashier is makes a mistake. Which we are all humans and it happens at times. So please double check your receipts 🧾
