I had a 2001 3500 dually I was always scared of the lift pump so I had a pressure gauge on it .. When the lift pump goes it usually f's the vp44 .. I sold the truck and got a 12 valve that I love ..
Aye man, I’ve got a 2001 Cummins also. They’re great trucks to have. You don’t have to take the lid off the fuel filter housing to check for fuel supply. Unscrew the black cap on the firewall side of the filter housing and there’s a Schrader valve you can push in with a small screwdriver. Once it’s spitting out fuel and no air, back off the overflow valve on the vp44 injector pump, once you get some fuel close it, then crack injector lines 1, 3, and 4 at the crossover tubes. Close them up once they start getting fuel. These things can be hard to start when they run out of fuel. Just bump the starter and the pump will run for about 15 seconds. Do all the other stuff during the period the pumps running. Good luck man 👍
Yessir thank you for the tips!!! Off camera I was bumping starter to get fuel to turn off but it’s actually a computer issue not letting voltage get to pump so I ran direct 12v to the pump itself just to test and I cracked injectors one by one! Thank you!

Nice view of Medina lake in the background, definitely need some rain
Cool find, nice project figuring out the issues. 500, 000 original miles? That is insane, but shows the longevity 👌
Nice I looking at 94 with 5.9 Cummins for service truck 2500
My guess is that there is air in the system crack open one of the Injection lines and get all the air out
Great content ‼️💯
