Great review, love the look of these. My only problem with Thursday is all three pair I have, the heelstack above the rubber cap gets all worn funny. Im a heavy heal stepper and the Thursdays are the only boots in my collection that apparently have soft healstack leather to where it compresses and loses its look fast.
@@BootSpy I have a pair of Cadet in both black and brown. Both pair have a worn leather healstack above the rubber where I come down on it when Im walking. I wish there was a way to attach pictures here.
@@hydroaegis6658 No, the rubber is hardly worn at all. Its like the leather layer closest to the rubber in the heal stack has softened and crushes beneath each step. Its mostly on my right shoe for both my Cadets as thats the foot I put most of my weight on as I walk. The only other boot I found this is happening on also are my Meermans. However, this situation is not happening on any of my Taft, Grant Stone, or Allen Edmonds.
Great review! However, I would strongly caution the use of Saphir Renovateur on these boots. Tale of woe below: I just bought these boots in color 77, and have absolutely loved them in the brief time I’ve owned them. I wanted to keep them looking their best, so I followed your advice and used Renovateur on them. The Saphir stripped the color from the leather. I’m sure Renovateur is an excellent product, but it’s certainly not intended for this type of leather. Thankfully, I tested the product on the heel on one boot before moving-on to more visible areas. This concludes my brief word of caution. Cheers
Tried it, didn't like the wingtip design, made my own president boots amber wheat into a brown marbled patina by using Saphir Renovator to darken the whole boot and Pate De Luxe for the darker areas. I used Medium Brown Pommadier Cream first but I brushed it off because I did not like the brown it gave, but it did play a part in darkening the boots. Now I have a similar marbled patina president boots that look amazing.
I don’t know exactly when they released an E/EE width for these, but I saw it while window shopping on their site this week. The interactive size guide does alter its fit suggestion for either standard or wide widths too.
Do you think the dark oak wingtips could be worn more formal? I liked the color 77 but was disappointed that this color did not have the textured sections like dark oak and black. I will be receiving my dark oak wingtips in a day or 2. Will be first pair of Thursday boots or any non work boot. I hope the ladies don’t chase me too much.
If you want the heel clunk sound just take your boots to a cobbler and have a "ladies heel toppy" put on. It's hard than a normal toppy and sounds cool.
These are the exact boots I'm planning on buying. How does the sizing run compared to Iron Rangers? I wear a 10.5 in rangers, so should I order a 10.5 in these?
Shank? The black rubber goes great with darker colors. Leather soles are strange and antiquated, more neurotically formalist than formal. Smooth leather material is counterproductive to the purpose of the sole, especially aesthetically when you consider lots of leather soles are a light color that more closely resembles crepe than the actual black color on the sides of the outsoles of dress boots. I'm honestly not a comfort over style person, but compared to rubber or hidden lugs, leather soles are hazardous.
Toe is too square. I also noticed that Thursdays dress shoes are also more of a square toed. I wonder why they do this. A round toe always looks better.
the problem with this kinda sizing in dress shoes and boots are its sized in very different manners than in sneakers. if you size down from your sneakers, it would cramp your toes and eventually set your ball back would hurt like hell wouldn't be any comfortable. but when staying true to ur sneaker size, the ball barely fills and your heel would flops and slips around
The leather on them scratches very easy. Very very easy. I wouldn't purchase this style again. Because of the leather. Thursday CS is good but this boot isn't worth it. I would get the simenon for this style .
One wear what individual likes. Individual wore what they like. To each their best. When it comes to dressing topic, it is a personal's preference. There are lots of things which are very subjective. Like women's liking for example, is one of which. So liking of something never ends there.
My main problem with this boot is that the patina looks unfinished. If you look at it closely you can see that the color gradiations aren't propely blended, which ruins the look for me. Also, square toes are no good IMO.
Love this in depth review🔥
I love these boots. Great review. I’ve been looking at them on the Thursday website for months… definitely my next purchase. 😁👍
Heck yeah, I think you’ll like them!

Hmm interesting! I haven’t had that issue myself, but I’m gonna have to look and try and find that out in the wild now

@@AlexandStuff do you mean that the rubber has been worn away and you're grinding into the leather heel stack?

thanks for the heads-up bro
So is it a safe bet if I order the same size as my Captains?
Those boots are great with suits. I have them in Brown and Black
I just bought the brogue boot from Beckett Simonon. It was a toss-up between that and this Thursday model. Probably will get these next.

Nice review Bill.. Thursday's are someof my favorite too. I am out of luck with these cause of the width I need..Thanks again..
Yeah that’s the big issue- they’re the most narrow Thursday’s I’ve tried
I have wide feet. Thursday suggested I go with my normal size, and they feel awesome so far. 🤞🏻

Yeah you’re going to have to watch out you don’t get trampled. I think they could go pretty formal. Definitely with a navy suit
can yuou have a separate video on how to pick the right size for your feet when buying Thursdays?
Great idea!
Was just looking into these. I want these for this autumn
Great idea
What was the "one BIG problem"?
Did I miss it??
Maybe the girl jeans..
Either them being narrow, or the ugly square toe lol 🤷🏼♂️
I would love to see a review on the Thursday commander
I have all three colors of these dress boots, they’re fantastic

Pls what is length and width of the outsole of these wing tip in your size 10 US. Thanks

I wear size 9.5 in Iron Rangers and 10.5 in Thursday Wingtips!
Cool boots awesome review!!
Why is the 77 color always different. I have seen many reviews, and the colors are either too dark or too light or perfectly shaded like yours.
What belt matches the color #77
I’m gonna take a trip in to the city and try them on in the New York show room to see how I like them.
Whats your review? Did ya make trip?
@@heavyweight361 I made the trip in but ended up getting a pair of captains they would get used more. I’ll probably grab the wingtips in the fall.

How do these compare to the beckett simonon eliot dress boot?
They are a gorgeous boot.
Could you please review the Titan?
These look really nice and durable. Could be a daily driver. I want a pair 😎🤘🇨🇦
Is the sizing similar to the cavalier? Thats another narrow boot, that I have so id like to know if the fit around the foot is about the same.
Yeah, I’d say the fit is pretty similar
Nice review.

I personally love the square toe. It’s my favorite part about this boot
I love the square toe on these. It's just different. But perhaps not for everyone.
I prefer the dark brown suede variant.
If you wear a EE and want this boot. Don’t size down, mine fit perfectly.
Thursday boots they looks so good .only thing I don’t like is the quality I think they over rated from my experience.
I would suggest buying a whole size smaller than your sneaker size.

"Patina". It's like buying pre-ripped jeans.
if it wasn't for the square toe I'd get it
Toe looks too squared.
Renovator? Dude... its renovateur.
No thanks . I just have a pair of the brown boots. I'm happy with them .
Why did Tbc Make the toes in Sponge Bob Square Pants style it is hideous!
Square toe boots 👎
