Yes! That’s the reason why wanted to put out this video because I realized that in order to find the people my age I had to actively search for and subscribe and continue watching their videos so that UA-cam would suggest more. As you may or may not know UA-cam has every viewers statistics along with my statistic as the UA-camr so if it knows that the over 40 age group is watching my videos and I am over 40 it’s part of the algorithm pushing more videos to you. And last I suggest that you just go to UA-cam search bar and start typing “over 40…“ And you will probably see UA-cam suggestions. Part 2 to this video is about to come out this week I am in the middle of editing it right now! I’m also gonna start doing an over 40 TikTokers to Follow video as well. I am now on TikTok too
I was shocked at how very little comes up when I do any searches on YT OR Google related to women over 40. It really is like we’re invisible! I just started my channel and wondering if I should start focusing on women our age! We need our voices heard too!!!!
That’s exactly why I started my vlog - to put a face to life over 40, but also NOT about fashion or beauty because I think it’s kind of great to be “out and proud” about looking real, living real - without filters or tons of make-up or all my s#%! together. That at least is what I’d like to see more of!
I agree! I believe that people who want to start a UA-cam channel that are over 40 are already going to be setting the tone for women that are younger because soon those in their 30s are going to be looking forward to finding women to look up to as they age. So imagine if you started your over 40 UA-cam channel now some of those that are in their late 30s in a couple years or even right now or going to start watching your videos And then they’re going to probably rewatch videos when they’ve turned over 40 because they are then going to be looking again for more over 40 UA-camrs. Yay It’s a win-win.
I like your idea of not fashion or beauty …..which is exactly what I’m thinking with mine. I love putting on make up and I love looking cute when I go out But….. I am not passionate about beauty and fashion… What I’m passionate about is teaching women to get a side hustle and start a side business or a craft business or something else that you can look forward to working on every day outside of normal life. So that we are not sitting around on the couch too much becoming unhealthy and then putting all of our time and energy into men or relationships too much that just end up disappointing us in the end. And for women to trust the process! I feel if we all learn to do other things in life that are different from the Mundane (going to work, cooking, cleaning,etc) … And then of course not waiting around for a man to come rescue us… We’re gonna have a better life as we age and be happier.

I’m 41 and trying to grow my channel for women in my age range and it just clicked in my head the other day that most of the girls I watch on you tube are all pretty much in their 20’s😳😳😳 so I’m trying to find more channels from women in my age group cause we ain’t 20 no more 😂😂😂 even though I still feel 20.

Rachel - I think you need to adjust your UA-cam channel settings because it won’t allow me to add any of your videos to “watch later”, so you may very well have your channel set up as “OK for kids” because the kids, UA-cam channels and videos don’t allowed people to add those videos to a playlist. (it’s like a certain restriction for kids channels) This could very well be what is also hindering any type of conversion because a lot of people go to UA-cam save a bunch of videos to watch later. If they can’t save to their watch later playlist, they can’t ever watch your videos.

Well part two is finally coming out this week! because I got laid off again… Third time since the pandemic… And I am thoroughly convinced that I just can’t put another corporate job ahead of my dreams and aspirations of creating support for women over 40. When I started my channel in 2019, my goal was to be a very popular over 40 channel But then I kept changing my mind wondering if that was going to be a downfall Fast forward to the last year since 2023. I’ve been seeing the videos pop up of how people over 40 need to start a UA-cam channel. ! Well, keep going and definitely be consistent… Sprinkle some UA-cam shorts in between when you can’t get longform video out It really boosts my views, and I think my subscribers because some of the UA-cam shorts that I’ve done have gotten a lot of views a lot more views actually I think I’m just gonna start talking to in 60 second increments and just crank out shorts ! And then do one long video per week

Yes, I went through the same thing myself last year when It dawned on me that "maybe I should be watching more grown ups"....i realized this when i just got sick and tired of these younger folks talking SO FAST with video effects. Its too much if you are watching a lot of UA-cam. Also, with getting older, i knew i needed to start watching the older women for beauty tips. Yes once you start to follow certain people that you know are of a certain age range you will start to get notifications of similar UA-cam channels so as long as you give a thumbs up to peoples videos that you want to continue watching you’ll get suggested other people as well.

I get folks in real life that always tell me they don't think i am over 40, and most think i am in my 20s. So I didn't think i could pull it off. NOT that I didn't enjoy being young, haha....but I realize despite what I may look like just connecting with other women in their 40s and letting it be known that grown-women can be over 40 and still look and act "youthful." and here we are!

Thank you Lisa for following! Yes, I also support the little channels on UA-cam. There seems to also be a shift happening, even with the larger UA-camrs and that shift is to go back to UA-cam being about "people" and not flashy UA-cam studios or $3K camera equipment. I recently even started filming again on my iPhone 8 Plus just to see if I really needed my Canon to make a good YOuTube channel.

Yes girl! Do it! I didn’t even start watching UA-cam until 2015 even though I knew UA-cam was out there! I feel that some of us that are over 40 grew up on a computer and some of us may not have grown up on a computer…. to really feel connected with technology so yeah there’s not a lot of over 40 UA-camrs out there… so it’s definitely needed! I wanna do more videos about people starting the UA-cam channel over 40. I didn’t start watching it until I wanted to learn about real estate investing and then I was hooked and realize that UA-cam is a great place to get educated on so much but also to almost have like a form of therapy too. And of course with technology people are on their phones more and in person less especially with working from home since the pandemic… UA-cam is where I go to connect because I’m a mom 25 days a month with my child and UA-cam is my adult space for me to escape but also learn Little things here and there.

It is needed so badly for there to be more 40+ UA-camrs. If not UA-cam will be full of nothing but teenagers or 20-Somethings. And I think the most support that’s needed in life comes when you’re reaching into your late 30s to early 40s because of such a huge transition for a lot of people especially women who may not have ever gotten married or had children yet… They need support of other women and men online showing that there’s plenty of life to live after 40.
Too bad there's not an easier way to find other UA-camrs in an age group! I started my channel in my 40s and love to find other women in a similar stage of life or who are thinking about the same kinds of topics!
Aw for me, I started typing in “over 40 “into the UA-cam search bar… And naturally the more I started watching women over 40 I got suggested more videos. Also, if you use key words “mature women” you may get directed a little bit more towards it.
If you haven’t seen, I do have a part two I finally put out nearly 2 years later, haha… I am going to be doing this more periodically, especially adding men’s UA-cam channels into the mix that I have been finding

HI Katrina! Yes, when I started to learn about Feminine and Masculine energy from Adrian Everheart's Love Academy videos on UA-cam thats when I realized that may be my issue for several things in my life and I have since discovered why: my mom. But I am trying to change that little by little but mostly by finding "the balance" between and learn when to use my masculine energy versus feminine energy. Being a single mom / head of my own household / cooking / cleaning / paying bills / handling life problems....and then working in the mortgage industry where i mostly deal with males: the guys I assist, the Borrowers and Brokers - all mostly men, I have to interact "masculinely" with men in my work life. But when I pick up my son from daycare, I turn into MAMA, haha....then when I "go out" and get cute, OR do my self care, or even watch Rom Com movies...I feel feminine again. Life took over haha….which is why it’s really hard to start and maintain a UA-cam channel for a lot of people… In fact when I started posting more videos in 2020 it’s because I had lost my job for the second time and now I just got laid off again a couple weeks ago so I’m getting back into the groove of re-recording videos and this time I really plan on being consistent Because I realize how I’ve been consistent even no matter how tired I was or busy I was with work and child… I might be working for myself already to not lose my job yet again LOL😁

And you’re right, one of the things that I may have possibly addressed in one of my other videos on starting a UA-cam channel over 40 was that at some point the younger UA-camrs are going to get burnt out of UA-cam and maybe pivot to another business. And as most people create families, we get married we have less time to do things like UA-cam or other side hustles.

Please do it because even more so over 50 channels are needed… I even follow a woman who has a UA-cam channel over the age of 60 but I believe she’s actually in her 70s now. I’ll follow a few women over 50 because I am just so inspired by help beautiful they look and fit and healthy and it just reminds me to start taking care of myself now so that I could look like them when I’m over 50! But I’m also very big on mindset and so I wanna follow women who feel youthful over 40 and over 50 and even over 60 because it just gives people hope.

Where did you move to and why? Girl, I ALMOST moved to San Antonio. My child's father lives there and I lived there for 1 year but when I went to go look at apartments, i just couldn't do it. I have lived in Austin most of my adult life and I'd rather be single in Austin, than single in SA with no vibrant life. SA is like Austin 30 years ago...haha...
I lived in South Austin just behind central market at Westgate and Stassney. I just took a vantage of a generous housing market and decided to sell my house and my husband and I moved out to the country farmhouse where I can sit on my porch and see no asphalt see no asphalt.

Well yes, because most of the people in your generation and my generation aren’t watching UA-cam, but that is fastly growing. And most of the younger kids grew up even more so on the Internet from pretty much the day that they were born.

There’s definitely audio there so I would check your phone settings and the audio button under my UA-cam video. Once in a blue moon I accidentally some thing on my keyboard….or with my finger and it mutes the video
Very sorry about that…..So the volume on this old video is the reason why I sold that Canon M 50 camera… I just couldn’t figure out why the volume was low The audio is there you just have to turn it up either on your mobile phone or right underneath my video with the audio icon on this video. I now film on my iPhone 12 Pro Max and I have a boom microphone that is right in front of my face.

I was shocked at how very little comes up when I do any searches on YT OR Google related to women over 40. It really is like we’re invisible! I just started my channel and wondering if I should start focusing on women our age! We need our voices heard too!!!!

That’s exactly why I started my vlog - to put a face to life over 40, but also NOT about fashion or beauty because I think it’s kind of great to be “out and proud” about looking real, living real - without filters or tons of make-up or all my s#%! together. That at least is what I’d like to see more of!
I agree! I believe that people who want to start a UA-cam channel that are over 40 are already going to be setting the tone for women that are younger because soon those in their 30s are going to be looking forward to finding women to look up to as they age.
So imagine if you started your over 40 UA-cam channel now some of those that are in their late 30s in a couple years or even right now or going to start watching your videos
And then they’re going to probably rewatch videos when they’ve turned over 40 because they are then going to be looking again for more over 40 UA-camrs.

I like your idea of not fashion or beauty …..which is exactly what I’m thinking with mine. I love putting on make up and I love looking cute when I go out But…..
I am not passionate about beauty and fashion… What I’m passionate about is teaching women to get a side hustle and start a side business or a craft business or something else that you can look forward to working on every day outside of normal life.
So that we are not sitting around on the couch too much becoming unhealthy and then putting all of our time and energy into men or relationships too much that just end up disappointing us in the end. And for women to trust the process!
I feel if we all learn to do other things in life that are different from the Mundane (going to work, cooking, cleaning,etc) …
And then of course not waiting around for a man to come rescue us… We’re gonna have a better life as we age and be happier.

I’m 41 and trying to grow my channel for women in my age range and it just clicked in my head the other day that most of the girls I watch on you tube are all pretty much in their 20’s😳😳😳 so I’m trying to find more channels from women in my age group cause we ain’t 20 no more 😂😂😂 even though I still feel 20.

I am so happy I found you. Women in general should support one another more often in general. This is a great way to start.
Rachel - I think you need to adjust your UA-cam channel settings because it won’t allow me to add any of your videos to “watch later”, so you may very well have your channel set up as “OK for kids” because the kids, UA-cam channels and videos don’t allowed people to add those videos to a playlist. (it’s like a certain restriction for kids channels)
This could very well be what is also hindering any type of conversion because a lot of people go to UA-cam save a bunch of videos to watch later. If they can’t save to their watch later playlist, they can’t ever watch your videos.

That’s great! When I started my channel in 2019, my goal was to be a very popular over 40 channel
But then I kept changing my mind wondering if that was going to be a downfall
Fast forward to the last year since 2023. I’ve been seeing the videos pop up of how people over 40 need to start a UA-cam channel. !
Well, keep going and definitely be consistent… Sprinkle some UA-cam shorts in between when you can’t get longform video out
It really boosts my views, and I think my subscribers because some of the UA-cam shorts that I’ve done have gotten a lot of views a lot more views actually
I think I’m just gonna start talking to in 60 second increments and just crank out shorts !
And then do one long video per week

Yes, I went through the same thing myself last year when It dawned on me that "maybe I should be watching more grown ups"....i realized this when i just got sick and tired of these younger folks talking SO FAST with video effects. Its too much if you are watching a lot of UA-cam. Also, with getting older, i knew i needed to start watching the older women for beauty tips. I hope you enjoy my content, there is so much more to come. Although I am not a beauty person, per se, I am wanting to start posting about my own skin problems and what not (after baby) so stay tuned!

Yes once you start to follow certain people that you know are of a certain age range you will start to get notifications of similar UA-cam channels so as long as you give a thumbs up to peoples videos that you want to continue watching you’ll get suggested other people as well.

I get folks in real life that always tell me they don't think i am over 40, and most think i am in my 20s. So I didn't think i could pull it off. NOT that I didn't enjoy being young, haha....but I realize despite what I may look like just connecting with other women in their 40s and letting it be known that grown-women can be over 40 and still look and act "youthful." and here we are!

I was looking for some newer YT channels to check out. I keep getting the same large channels recommended in my feed.
Thank you Lisa for following! Yes, I also support the little channels on UA-cam. There seems to also be a shift happening, even with the larger UA-camrs and that shift is to go back to UA-cam being about "people" and not flashy UA-cam studios or $3K camera equipment. I recently even started filming again on my iPhone 8 Plus just to see if I really needed my Canon to make a good YOuTube channel.

It took me a long time to even get on UA-cam just because the videos being suggested to me on any certain topic where coming from 20-somethings. I have since found more UA-camrs over 40 since I posted that video and I know it's time to do a Part 2 soon!

Yes girl! Do it! I didn’t even start watching UA-cam until 2015 even though I knew UA-cam was out there!
I feel that some of us that are over 40 grew up on a computer and some of us may not have grown up on a computer…. to really feel connected with technology so yeah there’s not a lot of over 40 UA-camrs out there… so it’s definitely needed!
I wanna do more videos about people starting the UA-cam channel over 40.
I didn’t start watching it until I wanted to learn about real estate investing and then I was hooked and realize that UA-cam is a great place to get educated on so much but also to almost have like a form of therapy too. And of course with technology people are on their phones more and in person less especially with working from home since the pandemic… UA-cam is where I go to connect because I’m a mom 25 days a month with my child and UA-cam is my adult space for me to escape but also learn Little things here and there.

How fun! Becoming a UA-camr was a total plot twist for me in my 40's too. Fun to find this!
It is needed so badly for there to be more 40+ UA-camrs. If not UA-cam will be full of nothing but teenagers or 20-Somethings. And I think the most support that’s needed in life comes when you’re reaching into your late 30s to early 40s because of such a huge transition for a lot of people especially women who may not have ever gotten married or had children yet… They need support of other women and men online showing that there’s plenty of life to live after 40.
Too bad there's not an easier way to find other UA-camrs in an age group! I started my channel in my 40s and love to find other women in a similar stage of life or who are thinking about the same kinds of topics!
Aw for me, I started typing in “over 40 “into the UA-cam search bar… And naturally the more I started watching women over 40 I got suggested more videos. Also, if you use key words “mature women” you may get directed a little bit more towards it.

HI Katrina! Yes, when I started to learn about Feminine and Masculine energy from Adrian Everheart's Love Academy videos on UA-cam thats when I realized that may be my issue for several things in my life and I have since discovered why: my mom.
But I am trying to change that little by little but mostly by finding "the balance" between and learn when to use my masculine energy versus feminine energy.
Being a single mom / head of my own household / cooking / cleaning / paying bills / handling life problems....and then working in the mortgage industry where i mostly deal with males: the guys I assist, the Borrowers and Brokers - all mostly men, I have to interact "masculinely" with men in my work life. But when I pick up my son from daycare, I turn into MAMA, haha....then when I "go out" and get cute, OR do my self care, or even watch Rom Com movies...I feel feminine again.
I want to do a video on Feminine and Masculine energy, it's on my To Do List, so stay tuned!

In fact when I started posting more videos in 2020 it’s because I had lost my job for the second time and now I just got laid off again a couple weeks ago so I’m getting back into the groove of re-recording videos and this time I really plan on being consistent
Because I realize how I’ve been consistent even no matter how tired I was or busy I was with work and child… I might be working for myself already to not lose my job yet again LOL😁

It get even more sparse after 50. That's why I started my own channel.
That’s awesome! Congrats i will check out your channel. And you’re right, one of the things that I may have possibly addressed in one of my other videos on starting a UA-cam channel over 40 was that at some point the younger UA-camrs are going to get burnt out of UA-cam and maybe pivot to another business.
And as most people create families, we get married we have less time to do things like UA-cam or other side hustles.

Please do it because even more so over 50 channels are needed… I even follow a woman who has a UA-cam channel over the age of 60 but I believe she’s actually in her 70s now. I’ll follow a few women over 50 because I am just so inspired by help beautiful they look and fit and healthy and it just reminds me to start taking care of myself now so that I could look like them when I’m over 50!
But I’m also very big on mindset and so I wanna follow women who feel youthful over 40 and over 50 and even over 60 because it just gives people hope.

Where did you move to and why? Girl, I ALMOST moved to San Antonio. My child's father lives there and I lived there for 1 year but when I went to go look at apartments, i just couldn't do it. I have lived in Austin most of my adult life and I'd rather be single in Austin, than single in SA with no vibrant life. SA is like Austin 30 years ago...haha...
I lived in South Austin just behind central market at Westgate and Stassney.
I just took a vantage of a generous housing market and decided to sell my house and my husband and I moved out to the country farmhouse where I can sit on my porch and see no asphalt see no asphalt.

I’m near 60 with a island camping fishing spearfishing channel and I watch 20 to 30 year olds with bikini babes where half of it is garbage doing way better
Well yes, because most of the people in your generation and my generation aren’t watching UA-cam, but that is fastly growing.
And most of the younger kids grew up even more so on the Internet from pretty much the day that they were born.

There’s definitely audio there so I would check your phone settings and the audio button under my UA-cam video. Once in a blue moon I accidentally some thing on my keyboard….or with my finger and it mutes the video

Very sorry about that…..So the volume on this old video is the reason why I sold that Canon M 50 camera… I just couldn’t figure out why the volume was low
The audio is there you just have to turn it up either on your mobile phone or right underneath my video with the audio icon on this video.
I now film on my iPhone 12 Pro Max and I have a boom microphone that is right in front of my face.
