My wife's had a Calligraphy model for six months now and it runs like a Swiss watch. It also has some more tech features than my '23 Tahoe! (Like all sign recognition, not just speed limit). It also has better leather and it's so comfortable on a road trip.

Nice suv overall but I’d wait a couple years to buy one due to the garbage resale of Hyundai.

True, but if you look at resale as a percentage over time, Hyundai and Kia have improved immeasurably in the past twenty years, particularly in the past ten. Combine that with the best warranties in the business, and they look like more attractive used car purchases than they used to. If they would settle down on the massive generational restyling, it would probably help their bottom line even more.

The depreciation might be faster than with some other brands, but in return you get a discount up front.
There's no other SUV that offers what the Palisade does for a similar price point.

Thanks Jax well done. We had this when they first came out , Limited was top then no Caligraphy till later. But it had the same engine and we put 58k flawless miles on it and loved it. It became my wife’s vehicle at about 30k and she loved it. Traded it in last May for a 2023 Lincoln Nautilus AWD Reserve pretty loaded up which was my wife’s dream car to have. It’s been great much better 2.7 twin turbo 330 hp and same mpg as the Palisade but it’s two row vs three. BUT there are definitely moments when she wishes she still had the Palisade.
So here’s the question for you. The only reason I was very ok with trading it was the reports of the carbon buildup problems with the direct injection. They were saying it’s just a matter of time before you have to have the cylinder heads cleaned. You hear the same thing?
I’m with you about the grill redesign now but it’s not a deal breaker. I got a 2024 MDX Advance last September because I found out the third row storage space was needed in our house, but found out the grill design on this really nice. Proves that you can find a giant grill these days that can fit your taste.
Well done again, still a big fan of the combo wife videos as its silly enough to be fun but still real. I’m guessing your 6’6” genes passed along makes your daughter an outside hitter? I’ve coached basketball for 40 years at the HS varsity level and get the whole club lifestyle chasing a scholarship, hope there’s one on the horizon for your daughter. I am always concerned with burnout factor when it seems like the season is never ending 🤞

You ain't kidding. I just retired from coaching swimming after 20 years (and was a D1 athlete back in the college days), and the pressure on young people now is insane compared to what it was 25 years ago when I was coming up. Crazy how things change. I've heard of carbon buildup on many direct injection powertrains, which I think is something you just have to regularly maintain and watch out for, but to be fair it can happen on traditional EFI vehicles as well. (Our old Chevy Trailblazer with the straight six suffered from it, too.) We really liked the Nautilus when we had it last; I'll be curious to know how long term reliability is for you since Lincoln has a bit of a hit or miss reputation -- usually associated with infotainment gremlins. I think we're going to dance around the new car issue until she gets a chance behind the wheel of the new Lexus GX and Toyota Land Cruiser. We'd prefer a large two-row, honestly, at this stage of life, and the LC looks just about perfect. Then again, with prices dropping like a stone on the last gen GX with the excellent NA V8... I wouldn't count it out yet. If I can get a gently used one of those for less than an LC... that could be a screaming deal with terrible fuel economy, haha!

@@jax1079 Thanks Jax best wishes for your daughter and volleyball. You’re correct about the Nautilus reliability and I was/am concerned but it was a lot of emotion (wife) in this purchase. So far so good, no warranty work in the first 11k. You like that GX no doubt and so does my grandson, he pesters me why I bought the MDX instead…always like how you think btw.

Hopefully getting one in the near future. We tested one a LONG time ago, so we need another go around for comparison purposes.
