I never used my masterball. I believed those playground rumors of hidden legendaries, like moon rock Jirachi or Petalburg Woods Celebi, and saved it in case I ever successfully saw one.
Having done 5 person casts before, it's really impressive how well everyone works together. It's easy for things to devolve into chaos with this many people.

Recap by Tammy AI
I have gained such knowledge and enthusiasm for tech probably primarily because of Marques and the team and it's not one of those things where i grew up with the content, hell I'm like 16 and from a country where the internet hasn't been a mainstream resource for more than say a decade . So armed with this newfound knowledge, appreciation and fear of certain aspects of tech, i recently went window shopping in a local samsung store with a friend the proceeded to excitedly blurt out specs of the flip and fold 5s and watched as the sales staff seem so surprised at the knowledge i had of a device that wasn't even close to being on the Kenyan shelves.... Anywho, point is eventhough ik I'm not exactly a long time subscriber and listener, I still appreciate the effort put into the MKBHD brand and it might mean nothing but i'm proud of the growth amassed To anyone, Have a nice rest of your day, drink water and remember to sleep
I remember when I was taking a microcontroller class in the late 90s the professor talking about how a washing machine manufacturer will make a no frills base model with a thin profit margin but then they could throw in a microcontroller with a fancy alphanumeric LED display for $10 to $20 more in cost but be able to sell that upscale model for $100 to $200 more.
Can we get a dedicated S9 tablet video this year? Not just the ultra or just a 30-second clip in a dope tech video. These tablets legit don't get enough credit for how good they are. Free S Pen with hover, great multitasking, Dolby atmos sound, best in class screens, and these one's will have really impressive battery life.
For people who doesn't live in a 1st world country: 1. Cloud storage is an expensive monthly payment. 2. Phone uprades happen on a 3-5 yearly basis. 3. Internet is slow and not widely available. We NEED the large storage if we were to continuously use the phone for more than a year. Many phones targeted to our market supports microSD card slot. It's slow, but does the job well.
MacMini M1 or M2 always started at 256 GB. I think what David meant was 256GB, 512GB instead of 128GB, 256GB. (Intel Mac Mini 2018 started with 512 GB)
I've only ever listened to this podcast on Spotify and this is the first time watching. Very weird to know what everyone who isn't Marques looks like 😂
I didn't understand Pokemon at the time so I accidentally killed Diagla instead of capturing it. I then instantly regretted it and wasted my master ball on some random Pokemon. Then one of my friends told me Diagla comes back, so i went back to Diagla and tried so hard to use the ultra balls but obviously it didnt work. So we rented Pokemon Pearl from Video Ezy and my brother played until the masterball in a week, transferred it to my game and finally caught Diagla. To be a kid again and have that much free time 😅
Another interesting fact about Twitter having its own lexicon is it's multilingual. In Arabic they say "taghreed" to refer to tweets, which translates to the singing of a bird. I don't know any other social media names that do this, often they would just transliterate like WhatsApp becomes "wats" and Facebook becomes "feys"
The Surface Duo really did have the perfect proportions, and the single-screen experience for web-browsing was especially nice. If they could add an exterior display with that size and make a foldable internal display (not to mention actually support the device), that would be very interesting.
I bought a base Ford Raptor the year they came out. Only option on it was trailer brake control. I had to special order it and wait a couple of months. It was 1k over invoice whilst everyone who wanted one today had to pay 10k over msrp. I ended up trading it a year later for more than I paid for it.
I think maybe doing it in 2 stages could have been better? Call it "TwitterX" , then eventually "X" couple years later? Would be enough time to work on the seo nightmare part of it, and could have been a bit smoother transition.. Idk just my 2 cents.
Hi. Really love your podcast. Haven't missed an episode yet and i have one suggestion. Could you guys have a segment where you recommend 5 amazing apps for each episode and the benefits for each member for the group. Thanks. No worries if you don't use my suggestion but keep up the good work. Also, side Note: UA-cam should have autocorrect for the comment section.
15:07 I have seen phones not respond due to the storage being so close to being full. Using 54GB of the storage on a 64GB model where the OS uses 6-8GB and you're basically one or two pictures away from a phone that wont even be able to load the lockscreen (likely because there is no free space to create a log file of the event)
BRO! I used a masterball on an Abra! I thought that was what I was supposed to do, since it kept teleporting away. I used 100 ultra balls on Mewtwo and eventually caught one using a GREAT BALL. LMAO the nostalgia hit HARD
A great way you can free up space on your phone is to go through your messages and see if there are any media attachments. (photos, videos, audio, stickers, text effects, screen effects, etc. ) The photo will take up more space in messages than it would if it were in your Library.
My theory is that the "X" is just a placeholder for the real rebranding. Just good marketing to make people think about the brand and media attention. Maybe the logo just ends up being white instead of blue
Fun fact:In Germany, the Tesla Model S was deprived of the e-bonus because the basic model cannot be purchased. E-Bonus is a purchase rebate of 4000€ paid 50/50 by federal and manufacturer for cars under 60000€.
I would never have Andrew's problem with the master ball because I'm the kind of player that just hoards the best and most effective items as though they weren't made to be consumables. What's that? I'm the only left in my party and I have 97 phoenix downs? Sorry, nope, can't use any of them 🙈🙈🙈
I replayed that outro moment like 20 times that was so damn funny 😂😂 Never heard Andrew mess up the intro that many times lol, he uually recites it so perfectly
There’s already two types of action gestures on an iPhone (close enough to an action button): triple tap the home button (for accessibility), and double tap the back of the phone.
Framework and Fairphone, among others, make upgradable laptops and phones, you can buy the base versions and upgrade RAM, SSD, CPU, mobo, screen, keyboard, etc. later.
I'm gonna be honest, the Samsung Xcover 6 Pro has TWO remapable buttons and having a dedicated flashlight button is a game changer. So top button = flashlight, side button = camera.
My gf just got the base M2 Mac mini for $500 new at Costco (on my recommendation). I could never live with 8gb of RAM and 256gb of storage, but she won’t even use it everyday. That computer is actually great value at $500 for a lot of users.
My job is to sell phones, so I get to see a very wide variety of consumers. There are 2 types of customers we see; 1. They know exactly what phone they want with the exact specs (never the base model). 2. They come in saying they want just a phone or just iPhone but have no idea what model or understand why they need more storage and tend to get the base model. I also get lots of Z Fold customers who have been using the phone for a while and have gotten so used to the tall skinny form factor and now regret getting a folding phone because they only use the outside screen and very rarely open it up. Plus, the aspect ratio of most video content means that the biggest you can watch this content is about 6.8 inches which is the same size as an S23 Ultra. So, no need to have a folding phone for enjoying content because it's the same size!
Apple actually does ask your storage capacity, it's literally on their website right now when you want to trade in an iPhone. They'll give you $95 extra for a 1TB 13 Pro Max than for a 128GB model
Re: Pixel Fold: as someone who migrated from a z-fold 3 to a Pixel fold, I disagree. I'm much happier having the best phone when closed, because that means I can just use my phone when I want a phone, and whip out the tablet when I want to tablet. On the z-fold, I have to constantly open it to do normal phone things, which is very annoying. I've had it for about a month now, and I'm absolutely loving it.
David, thanks a lot for all the film cameras. Love it! Can’t wait for the video. Would be perfect to have something on your own channel. Like once in a while?
I'm in the Samsung Ecosystem (not a Bixby user). Absolutely love it. I feel I get more flexibility than I would in the Apple world. Wherever Samsung doesn't have what I need Google tends to have a decent backup. I've got a S23U, S22U, M8 Smart Monitor, Tab S8U, Buds 2 Pro (but I mostly use my Sony H-XM4/F-XM4s), and the Watch 4 and Watch 3 Classic. I was not expecting it but the Smart Monitor really is what pulled everything together. Dex was decent on the Tablet before but kind of meh on the phones. Now with the monitor it's useable on the phone as well (a Keycron BT keyboard pulls it all together). I've loved it so much and have really wanted a better quality speaker for casting audio so I'm now looking at picking up a Samsung Q soundbard (and may someday replace my TLC with a Samsung TV). Also, S Pen. Why don't more devices have built in stylus? I want a Fold 5 with a build in SPen slot. I use the S Pen on my phone and tablet all the time for note taking, crosswords, sudokus, and more precise work that I just can't get with touch (photo editing, text selection, etc.)
So about the foldables and the laminate cracking, the interesting thing is Samsung doesn't consider that as an in warranty issue. It actually voids your warranty. When they first rolled out the repair program, because it wasn't considered an in warranty issue, users who wanted to get it replaced would need to pay for a replacement or UbreakiFix would have to eat the cost of the replacement laminate. This caused a lot of push back so Samsung adjusted and now they are giving a one-time warranty exception for a replacement laminate. Samsung will pay for your first replacement, and maintain the current warranty of the device, but after that the user would have to pay $20 for the next laminate if they needed one and their device would be considered out of warranty by condition
First Qi was Palm Pre 2 (already as HP) coming with wireless magnetic charger already inside the box. No need for any covers, change, etc... I still have it brand new.
There is Sunbird which is a thing too, and it's not needing old macs or iphones

Twitter as we knew it was over the second the toddler in chief took over. It was bewildering to me how many people - Marques included - expected anything else.
He vouched for him heavily a while a go, did interviews, a factory tour, owned many teslas, ordered a roadster and a cybertruck... It just seems like now that even though elon's reputation is down the drain, Marques is struggling to go against him.
40:00 testing in prod lol. They could have done an internal build of Twitter with X change, make sure it’s all changed before launching. But yeah, people would kill to have a brand as valuable as Twitter, they’re just killing it for no reason.
2 more reasons why X makes sense. He wants to be claim complete victory if he is able to turn things around at twitter. X would help that Twitter although the most popular name has a lot of legacy, a lot of brand trauma n negative emotions , also preconceived opinions of the product. X is a fresh start at the product. In a way it’s a good things for the bird. End of an era
The X website currently redirects to twitter for me lol. Just the twitter sign up page, everything normal, but with an X logo on it hastily placed on the page.
You guys mentioned "walking in" to buy phones / airpods. Can't relate to that. For the last 2 years every electronic device in my family was bought online Maybe online phone shopping isn't that common in the US?
Us people often just pay full price whereas in Europe where I’m in at least we mostly try to save money by buying it as cheaper online. What I noticed.
Masterball was meant for Mewtwo, so I'm sorry you had to endure the pain later on. Anyway I tried to uninstall and deactivate Twitter after the logo has been replaced to X, but for some odd reason, it wouldn't let me. Yes, I did use the correct pw for deactivation, but still it didn't.
I remember as a kid when I tried to save up my money to buy something really cool. Every time my parents would end up taking it from me because they were poor and bad with money. I don't talk to them anymore.
Blue bubbles and air message have been around forever and are alternatives to beeper no code needed. You also retain your data unlike beeper. You can also use these apps along with some other setup to run an Apple Watch from an android phone
22:31 I don't care about high refresh rate on phones, but usually the upgrade comes with it. I haven't bought a car in a decade but when I spec them out, you always have to get so much extra stuff to get power seats and a sun roof. lol.
1:22:34 Heavy doesn’t equal high off the ground. I’ve driven SUVs that are high up yet feel nimble (say, a 4rh gen 4runner) but driven low to the ground sports cars that feel super heavy. Suspension tuning and weight distribution plays a way bigger role than raw height
One element is “rate of change “. If technology is changing quickly…. It is more likely you will want to replace it sooner… even if you did splurge on upgrading. However, if tech is stable, it would be more conceivable to get an upgraded model with the intention to keep it longer
As someone who works in a wireless carrier, the offers are definitely a little misleading. When they say you can get "an iPhone 14 on us", it's literally the iPhone 14. Not the plus, not the pro or pro max, just the 14. But most people really don't even understand the difference between iPhone models.
I used my masterball on an Oddish. Still hurts... I feel you, Andrew :_)
I've used mine on a Natu..i was damn sure i could get another master ball after beating the league..
I never used my masterball. I believed those playground rumors of hidden legendaries, like moon rock Jirachi or Petalburg Woods Celebi, and saved it in case I ever successfully saw one.
I used my masterball on a Ditto. I thought that it would be the most powerful Pokémon because it could turn into any other Pokémon.
I used mine on dodrio. Everyone has their "i f-ed up my first masterball" apparently
😂
It is remarkable that this show has 5 personalities and it flows so smoothly. Ellis and Adam interject at EXACTLY the right moments.
Because its pre recorded and goes through an editing process.
It’s edited and pre-recorded but yeah, the end result is awesome

David, thanks a lot for all the film cameras. Love it! Can’t wait for the video. Would be perfect to have something on your own channel. Like once in a while?
17:11 - 2cents: Base Model versus Base Variant. iPhone 14 is a Model Series with 4 variants. Each Variant has a base.
WAIT, if Threads became Y, then the act of posting on Y could be called "yeeting"! That would be incredible.
as someone building my own business, getting setup with a sales platform is not the first step at all, the next level maybe but not the first step
36:43 i just googled that. Twitter is like a video streaming site. Nice
1:08:57 The diapointment in Marques voice when he learned that Andrew is using a wireless mouse for gaming was very funny :)
The title made me so happy
Or maybe he is just don't like whining about elon
Like you do
If you dont like him
Stop being obsessed with him😊😊
Cause Elon has a reputation of doing well. If you immediately thought he’d fail it’s probably because of a political bias and not a business bias.
The passive hate people have for complete strangers I find perplexing.
@@tomez8143 Let me guess, y'all are blue checks?
40:00 testing in prod lol. They could have done an internal build of Twitter with X change, make sure it’s all changed before launching.
But yeah, people would kill to have a brand as valuable as Twitter, they’re just killing it for no reason.
2 more reasons why X makes sense.
He wants to be claim complete victory if he is able to turn things around at twitter. X would help that
Twitter although the most popular name has a lot of legacy, a lot of brand trauma n negative emotions , also preconceived opinions of the product. X is a fresh start at the product.
In a way it’s a good things for the bird. End of an era
Adam/Ellis
PLEASE make an audio bite of Andrew’s WHATS HAPPENING!? At 51:15 😂
nice duck hunt reference in thumbnail! give that thumbnail guy a raise 😆😆
The X website currently redirects to twitter for me lol. Just the twitter sign up page, everything normal, but with an X logo on it hastily placed on the page.
That beeper app reminds me of using the ICQ chat app back in the day. You could use it to log into all your different chats with one interface/app
This and the JBP are my lifeblood, appreciate all the hard work you guys put into these and everything else you all create.
you guys should do the show and tell more often.
As I was watching this, my Twitter notification thumbnail turned into the X. The bird, is slowly dying.
You guys mentioned "walking in" to buy phones / airpods. Can't relate to that.
For the last 2 years every electronic device in my family was bought online
Maybe online phone shopping isn't that common in the US?
Us people often just pay full price whereas in Europe where I’m in at least we mostly try to save money by buying it as cheaper online. What I noticed.
Masterball was meant for Mewtwo, so I'm sorry you had to endure the pain later on.
Anyway I tried to uninstall and deactivate Twitter after the logo has been replaced to X, but for some odd reason, it wouldn't let me. Yes, I did use the correct pw for deactivation, but still it didn't.
You guys are so funny. What a blast. Fun episode
i actually believe david's theory of elon rebranding twitter to X
“Starting at” is also used to mislead customers when booking a plane ticket or a hotel reservation or even a cruise ship trip.
I haven't bought a car in a decade but when I spec them out, you always have to get so much extra stuff to get power seats and a sun roof. lol.
It’s finally Friday!!
People said the same thing about Tesla and SpaceX “ it has never been done before therefore it’s impossible”😂
One element is “rate of change “. If technology is changing quickly…. It is more likely you will want to replace it sooner… even if you did splurge on upgrading. However, if tech is stable, it would be more conceivable to get an upgraded model with the intention to keep it longer
Lol the disconnect with Marques and Pokemon was hilarious 😂
I preorderd my flip 4. Still using it. No cracks. Love this thing.
As someone who works in a wireless carrier, the offers are definitely a little misleading. When they say you can get "an iPhone 14 on us", it's literally the iPhone 14. Not the plus, not the pro or pro max, just the 14. But most people really don't even understand the difference between iPhone models.
This might be the funniest 20 minute of content I’ve seen this year
I’m with David at 21:22. Not that I cannot afford it, but I have no problem waiting for it.
Needed something to listen to. Perfect timing
