I don't get why people are saying the Hyundai/Kia 3.8 V6 is outdated. Hyundai has been making that engine for almost 20 years, it's solid and dependable. That's the same as saying the GM 5.3 or the Nissan 2.5 4-banger is outdated. They've all been in use for 20 years or more. I had a 2007 Entourage with the 3.8 and I put 175k miles on it before I sold it. The only issue I ever had with it was the front valve cover gasket leaking, which was a known issue (very minor $150 fix) on those years of 3.8s. Other than that, it was very smooth and consistent the entire time. No excessive oil consumption, no rough idling, no issues passing emissions, etc.
@@VagabondBuilds No, though I have been studying them for a few months. I currently have, or have had cars with all of the engines I've listed. The wife wants a Palisade, but I don't see the point in replacing our Yukon XL when the only real gain would be a small increase in mpg, but no actual increase in range per tank. We definitely wouldn't be able haul the family luggage without the use of a roof rack or hitch carrier, which would create more drag and decrease the fuel economy. I would be more tempted if the Palisade came with a 25-gal gas tank, which would make it a formidable road trip machine. But it only comes with the same sized 19-gal tank as my 2020 Santa Fe. That's smaller than the tank on my 2011 Altima.
Not trying to troll but this video is misleading. The Hill Descent Control and extra driving mode (Snow) are functions of having AWD, NOT the fact that it's a Limited vs Calligraphy. IOW, an AWD Limited has Hill Descent Control and the extra driving mode (Snow). Those features have nothing to do with it being a Calligraphy.
Great comparison. Thank you for your thoughtful presentation and editing. Very helpful to me in making a decision on what trim I wanted. Going with the Limited as like the blacked out front grill and cloth headliner on the Limited.
Exactly why my wife chose the Limited. Glad she didn't know about the Massage seats in the Calligraphy- I was happy with the price of the Limited vs the calligraphy.
A couple other things. The driver's seat has thigh extensions and the side body supports tighten inward when in sport mode. The 2nd row head rests also manually wing in ala airlines so the occupants can have a better nap without so much bobble head!
@charlesjackson3113 Yes sir! It drives more luxurious .. The comparison I always give is the Telluride is like the Tahoe which is a great vehicle but the Palisade is the Escalade .I've had 4 tahoes but 1 escalade In my time lol
I asked the dealer to put the limited cloth interior in the 2024 calligraphy and it is gorgeous! Doesn't show hand prints like the suede and you get all the calligraphy elegance.
We have a Kia telluride SX prestige. The felt like headline is not that great. Seems you need to groom it ! A couple things that bug us is not being able to lock the doors using the inside lock button. No logic to this and should be user programmed. The walk up/leave tailgate sucks . Should be kick activated. Also hard buttons for the console are better . Way too much screen touch.
Having a 2020 limited, I feel like this newer limited is quite “limited”. The body colored wheel well molding is gone, the suede headliners are gone, the hill assist is gone, the snow driving mode is gone. It’s like they force previous limited owners to buy the calligraphy, rather than buying a new limited model.

We do have a video about the TX and grand highlander…. Only issue is that we can’t get them side by side between dealerships. But I’m a big fan of the TX.

I live in eastern NC where we don’t have winter weather only maybe a dusting or rare few inches every 5 years. I was looking at a 2024 Calligraphy Palisades FWD not AWD. In my situation is the FWD a issue?

How did you get the daytime running lights to move up and down on the vehicles? I have a 2024 limited AWD and can’t figure out how to get mine to do that.
You can change the headliner and still get the calligraphy. The suede looks terrible during the day as a new car. Imagine what it will look like in a few years. Opt to have the cloth on the calligraphy and it is one Gorgeous vehicle.
This Honda calligraphy and Limited trims are the same just limited is front-wheel drive and calligraphy is all wheels drive hp and torque the same 3.8 L V6 8 SPEED AUTOMATIC transmission making 291 hp and 262 pound-feet of torque however seats are different material in these both trim calligraphy has napa leather with navy beige cabin and chrome metallic hardon carbon premium system
I love my palisades, I wanted the calligraphy , but for me it looked so much worse, the interior roof was awful , and the massage chairs are smaller then the limited , not by much but I’m a big guy . I thought the hub caps on the calligraphy looked like cheap aluminum, tacky and awful . I wanted to love the calligraphy it just looked so bad to me

I bought the calligraphy and the dealer replaced the suede headliner for the limited cloth. It looks so much better, will resale much better and I get the much nicer seats, hubs, video camera etc. It wasn't expensive to replace the headliner. Just ask and get what you want. 😊 LOVE my calligraphy!!
You are wrong about the tow button and extra drive mode not being in the limited. I have an AWD limited and it has both of those options. They are exclusive to the calligraphy seems to be dependent on AWD
I own a 2023 Palisade Calligraphy. I really wish they had a 330-350 hp V6, dual wide screen (like the one in the new Santa Fe or the KIA Telluride), power folding mirrors AND 3rd row lighting. If they optimize the engine and make a new one, they could offer a more peppy and responsive 330-350hp with 20/26 local/highway mpg. That's my only gripe. And maybe a tad bit more comfortable going over rough roads/bumps.
@@zaos6605 I would but you lose out on the 3rd row room. The Palisade has been amazing with our toddler and during travels. When the kids grow up for sure I'll get it. Right now they make a mess of everything in the back any way and need the additional row for in laws/parents.

I drove a traverse yesterday and trust me Hyundai is much more car. Chevy look good though but some parts are so cheap. So now I’m looking for a palisade
The Traverse has major reliability issues in prior year models particularly with the transmission. The new 2024 Traverse uses a new Turbo 4 engine so another question mark as to how the newer engine will hold up over time.

That is because the camera is filming and it is picking up the lights like that. But they don’t do that with any setting.

This is by far the most honest comment I have seen!! I currently have a 2023 sportege and while I enjoy the car, I think I need a little more space.

This outdated engine is going to be an issue for longevity. does not even have hydraulic lifters. Poor choice on Hyundai's part
