I have had a 225 since1988. I put a saw blade on it from day one. I use it to keep the brush trimmed back from my driveway and small nuisance trees. Goes thru them like crap thru a goose. Never rebuilt.
its crazy how some people knock this trimmer for power. they usually have the gaurd off with a foot of string on each side too. i think people rely to much on brute power instead of technique. the price points are usually over a hundred dollars on comparable models. thank you for showing what it is capable of.
Dude bc it does have less power... a stihl fs 131R, fs 250, fs 240R, and so many more wont even have to cut this from top to bottom, itll just go straight into the bottom. I have both srm 225 and stihl fs 131R.. the 131R is just simply so so much more powerful, its just way heavier lol
That's a heck of a lot of land to clear lol honestly though, throw a brush cutter head on one of them for the thicker stuff and keep the string line head on the other one for the lighter grass. Echo makes a few models with larger displacement engines as well, more for commercial use and heavy duty use. The srm225 here is 21.2 cc engine. Something like a 2620 will have a 25.4cc engine and give you more torque for tougher jobs they cost almost twice as much as this one though.
Although I don’t have an Echo, gas powered is far more efficient if you’re a homeowner with some land. Stihl Komb system owner here. Great video!! 👍
@@USAFVET1998 I definitely agree with that! Thanks for watching and commenting!

I'm impressed with how well this thing has held up for me, they are built like tanks!
😂 tu le crees a este animal? Si el 225 salió después del 2000s 🤣 para colmo le puso una hoja de cierra

Its been a great trimmer for me, and more than capable for any average sized yard...or farm house in this case lol.

@@DIYDad1 not arguing the power at all. Over 25 years using sthil and echo.
Nice bro I have this trimmer too and it’s an absolute beast
For supposedly an entry level “home owner” model from Echo, it can really take a lot! Thanks for watching!
Do you think 2 of these would do well on weed control of 12 acres of land?

That's really satisfying.
The fun part about this is that I was clearing out some space for the shooting range on my sisters land 😍
@@DIYDad1 Hell yeah! That's awesome! Are you going to document the process?

I muffler modded mine and it could be considered a deforesting tool LOL
Throw a brush cutter attachment on there and it just might be 😂😂 thanks for watching!
the little trimmer that could
Considering it’s the smallest 2 stroke that echo makes I’d say it handled it just fine 😁. Thanks for watching!
You need to pull the brass plug out of the carb by the way, there is more power to be had, yours is running to rich.
Good advice thanks! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Ok I will be first again :)
Haha idk what I have to do to get people to leave comments on my videos 😩
Take the guard off
0:28 for lazy people
