That black stratt David is playing the solo for Comfortably Numb was sold in 2017 for almost 4 million dollars at an auction! He sold about 120 of his guitars including that one and made almost 24 million which he gave to charity!! The owner of the Indianapolis colts football team was the person who purchased the black strat!!
Pink Floyd never formally retired, they just stopped recording. Their last album of original material was 1994 "The Division Bell". Roger Waters, the band's co-founder bassist primary lyricist and co-vocalist, left the band in 1985, but the band kept going. Floyd's final tour as a band was 1994 'The Dvision Bell' tour, recorded for prosperity and released on video digital and vinyl as "Pulse". (Roger was not involved). David Gilmour, lead vocalist and guitar extraordinaire just finished a mini tour of the US playing in LA and New York this past November. He is 78 years old and still going strong. Roger Waters also still tours occasionally and is very politically active. The amazing Keyboardist and synth master Richard Wright died in 2008. Check out "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" 1-5 from their classic "Wish You Were Here" album next. Studio version.
I'm sure others will fill you in on the band's history, but here are the bones. After Syd was replaced by David Gilmour, the band members we know as Pink Floyd consisted of Gilmour, Roger Waters (bass), Richard Wright (keyboards) and Nick Mason (percussion). That group produced six progressive and inventive albums in 1966-1972 with mixed results, but on a steadily upward trend. Then they hit their groove with Dark Side of the Moon in 1973, followed by Wish You Were Here in 1975, Animals in 1977, and The Wall in 1979. Like many successful bands, there were personnel differences, and Waters was pretty much out of the picture by 1983 or so. The others continued as Pink Floyd into the 2000s, but this video was the first (and last) time all four performed together live since the early 1980s.
The flag of the greatest world Empire the world has ever known and you do not know ? :-) Oh well ,, The band is mostly from Cambridge England..The Guitar voice thing was known as skatting ,Used by blues singers way back to the 1930s 40s 50s ,They are a 2failed " blues band ,and just did as they could someways inspired by Beatles creative inovations and inventions, The Beatles thing said to musicians do what suits you all your imagination can give... They recorded their early stuff next door to The Beatles in the same studio building at Abbey Road London .. Beatles = " Do not do as others do, do all your creative mind can give of your own inspiration ." Many very famouse bands including PF took up that flag back then ,,
Their final appearance reunited with Roger Waters. It was Bob Geldof - who played 'Pink' in the Wall movie - who persuaded them to reunite. No mean feat, there is a lot of bad blood between Gilmour & Waters. Note in Comfortably Numb, at the guitar solo, drummer Nick Mason whips off his headphones, probably to listen as the audience are since it would be the last time they would all get together s the 70's lineup. Sadly, keyboard player Richard Wright died a few years later.
Historic on so many levels

This is why I want them to come to Cincinnati Ohio USA

I have seen Pink Floyd live and they are outstanding.
Pink Floyd is an English band, this concert was performed in England, hence the English flag.
I believe that's David Gilmour's wife and kids in a couple of the front-row crowd shots.
Yep!
