Peace & Love to Andy & Alex, always! A song title as close to 'Picture Perfect' as a 'Post Card.' Though not entirely written about Syd Barrett, his 'Ghost' (both metaphysical and subsequently literal) haunts each delicate phrase to be heard herein. I'm a Syd Barrett fanatic, and when it comes to Syd's Floyd, 'sound painting' would be an ideal expression to describe his approach to musicianship. I'd say 'Arnold Layne', 'See Emily Play', Astronomy Domine' 'Matilda Mother', 'Flaming', 'Bike' or 'Jugband Blues' (to already mention way too many) best illustrate his peculiar gift for melody and wordplay during his tenure with the band that he named. Nobody wrote 'Tripped - Out' Pop like Psychedelic Syd, back when he "Shone like the sun."
Wish you were here Andy. Hope to see you soon. Doing a great job solo Alex. Bought this album when it came out so many years ago. Still my favorite Pink Floyd song, especially since I lost my wife to cancer 3 years ago. Wish You Were Here Rhonda Lynn. Miss you so much.
I wish you strength and sympathize with you. I feel the same every time I hear this song since I lost my love six years ago. The sadness does not diminish but becomes more bearable with time.
David is arguably the most expressive guitar player ever. He doesn't just feel the music, somehow he puts his heart and soul into his music. I can't hear this song without tears since my father passed away a couple of years ago. Keep up the good work and send my well wishes to Andy.
The incredible thing is... when they got their wish and he (Syd Barrett) was there... when he showed up suddenly during the recording of this ...and the band didn't recognize him ...then went into complete shock and trauma and deeply troubled after they found out that the unrecognizable stranger that strolled into the studio was in fact their friend and founder...the one they were singing about!! Sometimes when we get our wish, it's not what we wanted or expected! 😮 Wish you were here....awesome!
As a Vietnam-era kid, the line :Did you exchange a walk-on part in the war, for a lead role in a cage-gets me. So many kids getting drafted and so many slipping into Canada to avoid it. I was in the audience on this tour,!saw them in 88 too, but the Pulse tour was life-altering. Best wishes to you guys from a longtime subscriber and Patreon member. ❤️🫡
My heart goes out to u Alex. i wish he was here with you and all of us. Love u guys with a added boost of love to Andy. PS Alex you are doing an awesome job holding down the fort.
Prayers for dear Andy. Pulse is amazing. Im not an overly emotional dude, but it got me teary plenty of times. As close to absolute musical perfection as you will get. Floyd at their amazing best. Much love xo. When he hits the solo and voice combo, it got me again. Dang
The irony is the guy we all wish was here, requested wish you were here. Thank you for doing this one. Alex. Andy, you come back when you can. We all miss you. Alex, you are doing great.
the beauty of this song is there are so many layers of meaning to the words, none of them wrong. Such a simple melody, and yet invokes so much emotion. Perfect song indeed.
After I lost my mom in 2015, I visited my cousin in New South Wales. It was absolutely beautiful there, and I did a lot of walking. One day when I was walking I heard someone playing Wish You Were Here. Just one person, probably sitting in their backyard, beautifully playing on guitar. One of the best and most meaningful moments in my life. Wishing Andy and everyone here all the best. ❤❤❤
I love the way David is not only able to match the notes of his guitar perfectly with his singing voice, but he knows the exact notes he needs to sing with his bends as well - all the way up and down the bend...Pitch perfect all the way!!
I went to one of these shows at Earls Court, the sound was turned up to eleven for the last song of the first part and encore, I could feel my chest vibrating. We were sat left middle of second section, second tier, my earing thought I was under water for 4 days afterwards. What a show, what a band. From a life long fan.
Thanks, Andy- wish YOU were here! Not to detract from you, Alex- love your long hair and piercing eyes- and of course, awesome insights into the musical genius of days passed!
So sorry your mate couldn't be there. This performance is so electric. Literally everyone knows every word to this song. When we hear it in the car, we all sing it. There is only one Pink Floyd. Legends.
I miss Andy on your reactions! I've been watching since he started recording in his dorm room and you used to come in and do a reaction with him sometimes! Tell him that he is missed and to hurry back when he's ready. On this Pink Floyd reaction I just had to let you know that I just saw something on this live Wish You Were Here reaction that I didn't know! As many times as I listened to this in my 79 years I didn't realize that David Gilmore had a vocal part along with his guitar solo! Maybe everyone else did but I just never caught that! Learn something new every day!
I was in a bar in Salzbug, Austria in 2009 with some friends while we were on vacation (we are from Texas.) There was a cover band playing a bunch of songs in the bar and nobody was paying that much attention. When this song came on half the bar started singing along then eventually the whole bar was singing along it was surreal. After that song people in the bar went back to not paying attention to the band.
From the concerts I've seen this has to be the best concert I've ever seen in 94 Earl's Court London Unbelievable night if fantastic music and lighting show Best wishes to Andy great choice just a great band end of take care🙏
Missing Andy and his bouncing around ❤. Great job Alex, so grateful to you for caring enough to keep us all going. I must admit I've never heard this song before but I absolutely loved it. Will inspire me to listen to more PF which is partly why I come here, to find new music in my favourite genres. Thanks again 👍
Wishing you the very best, Andy. You are missed. Alex your words hit hard today. Such a beautiful explanation of feelings. Thank you both for just being YOU. ❤
Pink Floyd is my forever music . . . been listening to them since I was a kid in the 1970s. I may not listen every day, but I can't imagine this music not being part of my life. Both thematically and musically, the whole album, Wish You Were Here, brings me to tears. And David Gilmour is my favorite musician of all time. There is, and never will be, anyone like him. He makes the guitar cry and his vocals are so pure and so profound. Of course, Andy & Alex would love this music. Thanks for the reaction to this masterpiece, Alex. I am so glad that you and Andy have the kind of relationship that you have. I hope you both have a lifetime of friendship and happiness.
It's amazing how every single track from the Pulse concert is mind blowing good. I was lucky enough to see David at Madison Square Garden a couple weeks ago and he hasn't lost a step at 78. Incredible show. This was the right time to react to this song, it fits your situation perfectly. Thanks for another great reaction and best wishes to Andy.
Greatness! I've been lucky enough to see Floyd 6 times going back to the early 80s. The Wall tour being my first. I will be a 90 yr old one day still blasting Comfortably Numb.
You hit the nail on the head, dude. If you didn't miss Andy from the lyrical content alone, You'd be missing the point and that's not you. Looking forward to getting you both back together soon, but you are doing a great job Alex.
I pray Andy is doing better and we wish you were here. Love 🤍you , miss you and be well soon. You got this. Thanks Alex for doing this one. One of Floyd’s best !! 🦋🤘🏼💀🤘🏼🦋
This is such a heart wrenchingly beautiful song. I always get so emotional when I hear it. We wish you were here Andy. Hope you’re doing well. Great job Alex!
10:43 I miss Andy too. Although I only 'know' him from UA-cam, my heart hurts like I've lost a best friend. Thank you Alex for giving us a part of him thro your reactions. Love you both and can't wait for his return❤
July 1994 I drove to Toronto with two friends. No pictures taken. No cell phone video. And yet I can vividly remember this concert like it was yesterday. The Division Bell Tour was such an incredible concert. Dare I even say historical.
Hauntingly beautiful. The juxtaposition within the lyrics have a back story of a founding member who lost his mind from drug abuse. This is where he is at this point and it is laid down here in the song. There is an ethereal quality to the music which alludes to floating without direction or being in a mindless, almost unconscious freefall. Each note adds emphasis to the lyrics. If you have ever felt completely lost, the music in this song transports you back to that moment and your soul aches for the subject of the song.
Looooove Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here"! And it's the live version? Excellent! ❤Alex, your expressive words about missing your friends and how this song made you feel, thank you for sharing. Cheers.
Great reaction Alex. This is how you know when a song is great art. When it hits you directly in your heart, in your mind: when it shifts the ground beneath your feet. I appreciate your openness and yeah, I miss Andy too.
I got a little choked up on this one Alex. Nothing lasts forever and that's why it's important to be mindful, live in the moment, and be grateful. You seem to be mastering that.
Really missing you Andy.❤ I thought of you the whole time throughout the song. I hope you’re getting better and I am really looking forward to seeing you back together with Alex. Also Alex you did a fantastic job as always in your expressions and breakdown of the song.
What’s great about this song is that it’s one that means something completely different to every person who listens to it. That’s what good poetry does. Floyd have beautiful lyrics in their cannon but not many of their songs are poems. Props to Roger for these words. It’s no coincidence that one of their absolute greatest songs was completely co-written by the 2 big heads. To Andy, I hope the head space is giving you peace, and I hope you’re listening to music to soothe the soul. Music should always be a part of the medicine. All the best to you.
Thanks Alex for that wonderful reaction to a beautiful song that brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it. Now follow this up with Sorrow from the same concert. Another mind blower. Please!!
Great selection - my 2nd favorite Pink Floyd song (Dogs is 1st). When I first started watching this channel it was only Andy on screen - now it's your turn : great job!! Hope you're back soon Andy. By the way there is an 8 minute video on UA-cam where Roger Waters is on Joe Rogan podcast discussing this song and Syd (Roger) Barrett.
Great reaction Alex!! It is a perfect song - S++ tier hands-down! Pink Floyd has a way of distorting time! Most of their long songs never feel like the length they are. They grab you and draw you in to...wait for it...the Dark Side Of The Moon!! I bet this hits emotionally - it does for me too! Interesting story to this song - many moons ago, I introduced PF to my mom, and she loved much of what she heard (Shine On Your Crazy Diamond was here favourite). She passed unexpectedly in 2018 (heart attack). At her cremation, after it was done, the whole family assembled in the chapel for a tearful embrace - what song literally starts as we're hugging? Wish You Were Here! As if I wasn't a mess already, I just looked to the heavens and said "MOM, REALLY?!" I have a hard time getting through this piece without getting misty eyed now. I really do wish she were here! Hope you get reunited with Andy soon! Cheers from Canada, eh!
On a live show standpoint, PULSE took their stage to AS BIG AS IT GETS size. I saw “Delicate Sound Of Thunder” outside at Oakland Coliseum and Theo “ONLY” had the 60’ video screen that ROCKED MY WORLD with what it could do! Only thing I’ve seen bigger was David live in Pompeii with that same lightshow pointed at the sky around the parameter of the coliseum. This is the first song I ever completely learned on guitar, love it!!!
Of all their songs (and their albums, for that matter), this is my favorite, hands down. We all know how good Gilmour is on vocals and guitar, but Rick Wright's keyboards and Nick Mason's drums offer such beautifully understated support to Gilmour that everything just seems perfect.
This song always feels SO short and makes me realize I haven't taken a full deep breath the entire time, even if I was singing it. This song makes me think of friends that have passed on and friends who are just no longer friends
Kudos to you Alex for talking about this song. Has to be hard for you. Doing a great job. You both have been through a lot. Andy, hope you are keeping your spirits up and knowing that you are missed.❤
I love how you interpreted the first line. Who says heaven and hell is some post-mortal experience unknowable in our current state? It can be mere perceptions of reality as transient as our current state of mind or station in life. This is what true art does, it forces you to look inward in ways that can change how everything is perceived outward. And few bands did it better than Pink Floyd. I saw them perform this live in Chicago 1988 at an indoor arena. As Dave began singing, the entire audience sang along with him. 20,000 voices singing softly along to the point he eventually just stopped singing all together and let the audience take over as he played along on the guitar. It was like a religious experience. Church. Chills.
Andy's sabbatical is his coping mechanism. Music and friendship are the medicines he needs. Please tell him how much I miss him. You're holding his place, and you are doing a fantastic job. We need him, and so do you. Music is the medicine we can not live without. I hope you can remind him how much he means to me. My husband was a singer/songwriter. His death still feels me with loneliness. You guys helped me so much. How can we help him?
Simple, complicated, thought provoking. So glad a new generation is experiencing Floyd. Have a great time in Cali Alex! Andy...do the work and you'll be back in the saddle pronto!! Hang in there brother!
YYYEEESSS!!! Thank goodness for a live performance! Unfortunately Rick Wright died of cancer...he & David had a perfect connection with the music. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you check out David and his daughter Romany covering the song "Between Two Points". Shes got a gorgeous voice, & David still kills it on the guitar!!
Thanks Alex, I think it's time for a banger to get your day beeboppin along. Primus, Wynonas Big Brown Beaver. Slapping good bass brother, you'll love it
Stunning song, stunning music, stunningly arranged, stunningly sung and played....!! I guess it has to be an "S" Teir song then... Keep on Rocking young sir
Don't stay apart for very long, you two... 🩵✌️🩵 Fantastic song, when I first heard it back then, it just emphasized to me that the world was changing and there seemed to be no stopping it. It's melancholy & missing you, wishing you were here (to me) is like wishing for what used to be good that is now gone... or something good that never was and you want it so badly but it seems to be gone forever and the best you can do is hold on to the slivers you find or make along the way. 🌷
Really appreciate you hitting this Alex, seeing you dig this and get a lot out of it means a lot and made my day, love you man! ❤
- Andy
Miss you dude, it's not the same. If you ever do a cameo do it from your room like the old days. 😊❤
Peace and strength brother. Thankful for you.☮️
Hope all is well Andy.
I hope you are getting rested and refreshed. Take care, Andy.
Peace & Love to Andy & Alex, always!

You're doing great Alex. We miss Andy, too. Really appreciate you guys.
How appropriate for Alex to play a song titled "Wish you were here" during Andy's absence.
THIS song, suggested by Andy at THIS time, adds layers and layers of resonance! No score needed, wishing Andy all the best!
Rick Beato finally interviewed David Gilmour yesterday. Next on my watch list. A half million views already.
It was great and well worth your time
One of the most beautiful songs ever written!
Absolutely!❤
Wish you were here Andy. Hope to see you soon. Doing a great job solo Alex. Bought this album when it came out so many years ago. Still my favorite Pink Floyd song, especially since I lost my wife to cancer 3 years ago. Wish You Were Here Rhonda Lynn. Miss you so much.
So sorry for your loss! I used to have this set as my Mom's ringtone. Lost her in 2016.
I wish you strength and sympathize with you. I feel the same every time I hear this song since I lost my love six years ago. The sadness does not diminish but becomes more bearable with time.
My deepest condolences. You have a beautiful song along with beautiful memories to remind you of her.

They played him the song and he didn’t like it.
A very sweet tribute to your good friend, Andy!... ❤ True Best friends are hard to come by. Hope he's doing well, and you also!.😊

The pressures of life come and go. Music is here to stay. Props to Andy. Keep the ball rolling, Alex...
Greatest band in the world and ever will be. Your reaction was AWESOME, FLOYD IS FOR EVERYONE.

Healing energy sent your way, Andy!
A phenomenally great song from the extraordinarily great PINK FLOYD.
Never gets old...one of this ages classics...
Great choice, Andy!
Thanks Alex!
Mad props for keeping the channel moving, Alex. 🤜🤛
The greatest lyrics in the history of rock music. Sheer poetry.

Hello Alex to you here in California. I hope you get all you need here. And happiness to Andy in Florida.
Wishing you the very best, Andy. You are missed. Alex your words hit hard today. Such a beautiful explanation of feelings. Thank you both for just being YOU. ❤
Pulse is one of the best LIVE albums ever.
Can't believe this video is 30 years old! And still great!
Pink Floyd is my forever music . . . been listening to them since I was a kid in the 1970s. I may not listen every day, but I can't imagine this music not being part of my life. Great to see Live Performances!!!
You hear the music differently.
One again..... fantastic!!! He's to you Andy! Great job alex!
It's amazing how every single track from the Pulse concert is mind blowing good. I was lucky enough to see David at Madison Square Garden a couple weeks ago and he hasn't lost a step at 78. Well done Alex.
Andy has a place in all our hearts.
Keep on, keeping on 😎
Andy is the heart and soul of this channel, I miss him. Alex is very gifted and he is doing a very good job carrying the channel. Love you guys. ❤️🇨🇦💯
I pray Andy is doing better and we wish you were here.
Love 🤍you , miss you and be well soon. You got this. Thanks Alex for doing this one. One of Floyd’s best !!
🦋🤘🏼💀🤘🏼🦋
This one hits , straight at the heart .No words. ❤
The genius of Floyd...
This is such a heart wrenchingly beautiful song. I always get so emotional when I hear it.
We wish you were here Andy. Hope you’re doing well. Great job Alex!

Great reaction. Wish all reactions can be like this.
Alex you have been doing an exceptional job lately. I miss Andy but on your own is also must see videos. Thanks !
Roger is a phenomenal lyricist.
Beautiful. Wish Andy well from me. Thank you Alex. ☺️
I got a little choked up on this one Alex. Nothing lasts forever and that's why it's important to be mindful, live in the moment, and be grateful. You seem to be mastering that.
Great sentiment for Andy and, of course, phenomenal musicianship.
Sang this tune around a keg parties bonfire a few times in my youth.
goose bumps every time I hear it
Thanks Alex. Take care the two of you. Have you heard REN? Knowing him helps and HI REN is a musical game changer.
Really missing you Andy.❤ I thought of you the whole time throughout the song. I hope you’re getting better and I am really looking forward to seeing you back together with Alex. Also Alex you did a fantastic job as always in your expressions and breakdown of the song.

Some songs, and groups, just seem to encourage you to go deep. Love this song. Great reaction. Hope Andy is doing well.
Beautiful Alex, nuff said.

Kudos to you Alex for talking about this song. Has to be hard for you. Doing a great job. You both have been through a lot. Andy, hope you are keeping your spirits up and knowing that you are missed.❤
Comfortably Numb is my favorite from the Pulse Concert, there is an unreal guitar solo at the end.
Now I understand why Andy chose this. Love you Andy❤. Alex you're awesome
I love how you interpreted the first line. Who says heaven and hell is some post-mortal experience unknowable in our current state? The new generation is hitting on this is great! I'm now 71years got caught up in late 60ties to Pink Floyd
Good job Alex. All the best to Andy
Oh wow, my favourite band, awsome tune, great stuff Alex regards to Andy 💚☘️🇮🇪
Cheers A&A!
Great reaction.✌️
Me and the wife had great seats when we saw the Pulse tour and it remains an all-time top concert experience for us. 🤘
I'm so JEALOUS!!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️🎶🎶🎶🎶
Thanks Alex, I think it's time for a banger to get your day beeboppin along. Primus, Wynonas Big Brown Beaver. Slapping good bass brother, you'll love it
Stunning song, stunning music, stunningly arranged, stunningly sung and played....!! I guess it has to be an "S" Teir song then... Keep on Rocking young sir
Pulse is pretty amazing.
Oh, and BTW... a perfect song for Andy. Thinking of you, bud!
One of my favorite songs. Good thoughts your way Andy , and appreciate your thoughts on the song Alex.
That was perfection.. grab a guitar and try that shit at home.. miss Andy
The Whole Pulse Concert is Amazing. You can Hit any Song from that Concert like Comfortably Numb 4 example & it would be Kool.
Wonderful song, great reaction! I hope that Andy will be back by your side asap.
Such a great song
Don't stay apart for very long, you two... 🩵✌️🩵
Fantastic song, when I first heard it back then, it just emphasized to me that the world was changing and there seemed to be no stopping it. It's melancholy & missing you, wishing you were here (to me) is like wishing for what used to be good that is now gone... or something good that never was and you want it so badly but it seems to be gone forever and the best you can do is hold on to the slivers you find or make along the way. 🌷
Great job man. Wish you both the best.
right on, right on, right on....keep on!
