I was at Earl's Court for this concert and listening to anything from Pulse will blow your mind, in the 1st half they played the entire ' Division Bell ' album and some classics, finished off by 'One of These Days ' another banger and then in the 2nd half they played the entire 'Dark Side of the Moon 'album along with more classics, then the encore was, ' Wish You Were Here, Comfortably Numb and finally Run Like Hell ' it was an experience I will never forget. 🤘
Yeah, so this is how we rolled. Talent, you had to have talent. This was such a fantastic concert and it makes me think of all of the fantastic shows I was lucky enough to see. Those days are over and I’m so glad that you get to experience it like this at least.
Man, when I discovered this song back in my early teens, I quite literally had it playing on repeat all day, every day for an entire month. xD I've seen this live clip before too, and it's just amazing. That long, crazy solo at the end there is also just absolutely beautiful!
And if you're wondering no that wasn't the grand finale! The song run like hell is and it's even more spectacular when it comes to a light show!!! Also any song you do from this whole concert is at least equivalent to any other groups Grand finale in their concerts!! Pink Floyd is second to none when it comes to live shows believe me I've seen them four times live in three different decades!!!
Saw this concert 4 times at Earl's Court in October 1994, including the first night of the run when the seating at the rear of the hall collapsed. The most amazing show I've ever seen. The mirrorball opening above me was mesmerising. What also isn't obvious to anyone under say 40 is that 30 years ago the creativity and technology to run the 200 or so Varilites like that was beyond epic. The lighting programming was beautiful, as you can see here. Alas, what you can't tell here is how amazing the sound was, it lifted and consumed you - in 360 degrees.
You can experience the original concert sound ( well, almost and feel it in your guts, head and toes / feet as well ). Just play the latest Pulse video through a quality valve amp into a pair of quality 40 yo speakers or monitors. If the speakers need extra bass then they are NOT quality, just cheap and affordable when new......what most people thought was quality because they could save up and buy them. EG :- the small Polk Audio floor standing speakers from late 1980's will make your walls , floor and ceiling rattle and hum with almost perfect sound reproduction you FEEL.......just like a concert. $20,000 new speakers don't even come close. lol
I was there and it was out of this world it was cold I remember that part but as soon as they started playing . The magic hit . There wasn't a dry eye in the audience from start to finish. Was the best experience I ever had. PINK FLOYD, IS ITS OWN CATAGORY . You can't label these guys.
Of the 3 original members on the stage only Nick Mason (drummer) has been a constant member since 1964 and the only member to have performed on EVERY Pink Floyd album
There is "Music" and there is "Pink Floyd". They brings you somewhere out of your body! Pink Floyd made me fly for the last 55 years and I've been bless for that!
Was at this concert. Still the best concert that I have been to. Try "Sorrow" from the same concert 🤘🏻🔥🤘🏻🔥 The solo from On The Turning Away is also very special The 2019 Remastered version is amazing. From a concert in 1988
I loved your reaction. I'm 60 now and have been a fan of Pink Floyd since 73 when Dark side of the moon was released, and saw them in Paris and London as part of this Pulse tour. I'd recommend you to check out David Gilmour's new album, Luck and Strange. I'm seeing him at R.A.H, London , in 3 days time. By the way, he's 78. And, he's still got it. Legend.
Enjoyed your reaction, may I suggest that you do the entire concert in segments, the entire concert is Awesome, I envy those who were fortunate to attend this concert, it is the most awe inspiring man made performance I've ever seen in my 67 times around the Sun !! God Bless.
That's a shame. You and I are the same age, and I saw them live twice before The Wall (the Wish You Were Here tour and the Animals tour) and then four times after Waters left the group, including twice on The Pulse tour. You would have loved seeing them live. It was an ethereal experience that I will never forget.
8 or 9 times? Too stoned to remember? LOL. To this day, I can barely even remember seeing the concert from the Wish You Were Here tour, even though they played the entire Dark Side of the Moon album and some sneak previews of songs they were working on for Animals.
At 4:45 in your reaction, you say: "it's almost enough to make a Man tear up". I thought I saw a tear flowing "from the corner of your eye, I turned to look, but it was gone, I cannot put my finger on it now". But even if that had been the case, you wouldn't be the first or the last to shed a tear on this song. Because David always knows how to pull on the right string, the one directly linked to our soul.
That was actually the second last song of the concert, the followed that up with a song called Run Like Hell to close the show, you should definitely check that song out too! Great reaction video!
On stage there's only three "real" members of Pink Floyd. Rick Wright (keyboards front, vocals), Nick Mason (Drums left) and David Gilmour (Lead guitar and lead vocals). Fourth member and bass player Roger Waters was no longer in the band. Roger Waters did the non-Gilmour vocal parts on the original release of "The Wall" in 1979.
Same concert...Wish You Were Here, Shine On You Crazy Diamond, High Hopes, Run Like Hell (last song of the show), Sorrow, Coming Back To Life...all of them!!
Absolutely one of the best live shows ever captured - for me it’s at the top, along with Nightwish Live at Wacken Open Air in ‘13 and Alice in Chains Live at The Moore. Run Like Hell, One of these Days, Sorrow, On the Turning Away, and Wish You Were Here from this show are absolute musts.
If you want them RAW Pink Floyd "Echoes (Part 1)" live at Pompeii 1972 No Audience, No Lights, No Pyrotechnics just Gods playing to the Gods (I suggest specifically a "part 1" video just for reaction purposes, it's well over 20 mins with a long "soundscape" in the middle, so Part 1 will take you all the way up to that middle section) 😉
Lead guitarist David Gilmour and bassist Roger Waters were the two main lead vocalists for Pink Floyd. Roger had left the band by the time this tour took place, so keyboardist Richard Wright and others are doing his part ("is there anybody in there?"). David Gilmour, the other lead vocalist and among the greatest guitarists on the planet, is there in full iconic Floyd voice for the chorus and sounding and playing better than ever. These concerts took place in 1994. I saw them at Soldier Field in Chicago that summer. With full 360° surround sound over speakers encircling the entire stadium, it was one of the most powerful and mesmerizing concert experiences of a lifetime. And no, this was not the final song! They actually do manage to take it up a couple a dozen notches from here if you can believe it, with a grand finale performance of "Run Like Hell" from 'The Wall' album that quite literally nearly blows the stadium apart and leaving the audience stunned and partially deaf on the way out of the venue. Between the light show, sound, sonic and theatrical experience, Pink Floyd were simply one of the greatest live bands of all time!! Check out "High Hopes" live from this same Pulse concert.
Pink Floyd is one of the GOATs of Rock music, hundreds of millions of albums sold worldwide! And this 1994 Pulse concert is a phenomenal Floyd concert,... but of course they ALL are! Actually, there are only 3 members of Pink Floyd here in 1994, David Gilmour, (guitar, lead vocals), Nick Mason, (drums, percussion), and Rick Wright, (keyboards, vocals). They're the 3 older guys you see, the other musicians onstage here are Pink Floyds touring band for that year or time period. Although Guy Pratt on bass here, is still with David Gilmour even today as Gilmour has released another solo album just last month, at 78 years old. And they have just started a world tour also just a week ago I believe. There are many bootleg videos on UA-cam now of their performance in Rome Italy for the start of the tour.
Not last song. But every song from this legendary Pulse concert is like this. This journey. Just like Hitchcock films. Starting from earthquake and the atmosphere rise and rise and rise.
I saw Pink Floyd in ‘94 in Vancouver, BC. My buddy somehow managed to score tickets in the second row right in front of the stage in a sold out 50,000 seat stadium. It was a mind blowing experience. Easily the greatest concert I’ve ever seen.
It definitely was not downhill from there. "Run Like Hell", the final encore still gives me goose bumps. I have been a converted Floydian since 1981 and was able to see them live in 1988 in Germany. I agree with your comment about Prince, he was BRILLIANT in that solo, however I cannot count how many songs David Gilmore reinvented the sound of his guitar. Try "Sorrow" and "Run Like Hell" from the same concert, Life changing. The entire concert is. Fun fact, Pink Floyd added their iconic light show after watching a rehearsal playback. They thought they were boring to watch as they didn't jump around the stage or feel the need to make faces to convey playing great music is apparently painful. The lights give you a totally immersive experience when combined with their amazing talent that is second to none. New sub!
The lighting and effects have been paramount for their live performances from the start. It may be great music, but you get drawn in with your emotions by the whole experience. Every single song from the Pulse concert will give you this feeling. The last song of the show is Run like hell. You will have to decide when you are ready for it. I suggest you listen to every song and finish with it. There is a huge amount of us out here that follow reactions for this concert because we know what is coming in your journey.
That guy meaning David Gilmour is a legend, and I would highly recommend that your next reaction to the same concert should be the song. High hopes. It is epic and will undeniably blow you away in this performance. He uses a steel guitar also known as a lap guitar and it is phenomenal and a unforgettable performance. Please make that the next from this concert it will be well worth your time and ironically, my name is also Craig, I am probably the same age as your stepdad I grew up with this band they formed in the mid 60s and have been going strong every sense and if you can make it through this concert, I can assure you you will become a stone cold Floyd fanatic just like your stepdad Craig one last final note, I also grew up with long hair, bell bottom pants, ring, belts, peace, sign, headbands, and the only thing you’re missing, is a left-handed cigarette that will enhance this music. Looking forward to your reaction to High Hopes.
I saw the "Pulse" show (was the Division Bell Tour) in Indiana in '94. Tell your "Dad" that David Gilmore has a new Solo release out and is going to Tour with it doing some Floyd music too...
Pink Floyd live is amazing! David Gilmour is one of my favorite guitarists (and singers, for that matter). He is 78 years old and just released a new solo album, called 'Luck & Strange'. I was fortunate enough to see him in concert in 2016 when his tour came through Chicago. Hearing those classic Pink Floyd songs live was surreal for me, a new fan as of 2015. For future reactions, I suggest the song 'Sorrow' from this same concert. As for lead singers, David Gilmour did a lot of the vocals, and the original bass player and songwriter, Roger Waters, did the vocals on other songs. Roger left Pink Floyd in 1985, so by the time the Pulse concert came along in 1994, he had been out of the band for almost a decade. The three members of Pink Floyd in the Pulse concert are: David Gilmour (lead vocals, lead guitar); Richard Wright (the gray-haired keyboardist who also does some backing vocals) and the drummer, Nick Mason. The others onstage are touring musicians. The young bass player is Guy Pratt. He still performs with David Gilmour today.
There are a lot of really outstanding technical guitarists, but only a handful can make the guitar talk directly to your soul, and make it weep. Gilmour is one.
I was at 2 of their shows from the Pulse tour, so this was the 2nd to last song which means you need to see their last song Run Like Hell, you wanna talk about a light show brother lmao
It has been said that Fender invented the Stratocaster but God put it in David Gilmours hands..... ANYTHING from Pulse will blow you away......this wasn't even the Finale!
On the original album version of this song the verses are song by Roger Waters (bass) and the chorus by David Gilmour (guitar.) Waters was no longer in the band when they did this tour so his vocals were replaced by that haunting harmony from Richard Wright (keyboardist,) and hired-for-the-tour musicians Guy Pratt (bass) and John Carin (keyboards). The live version is slightly slower than the studio version and, of course, has the extended guitar solo whereas the original studio version criminally fades out mid-solo. All of the Pulse concert is worth watching but the real stand-outs are this song, "Sorrow" (for another jaw-dropping guitar solo), "One of These Days" and "Run Like Hell" performed as the closing number. I saw this tour at BC Place in Vancouver and it was amazing.
I'm surprised you left out High Hopes from the list of stand-outs from the Pulse concert. I do agree with you that the entire concert is well worth watching though.
@UnfilteredReactions This song was a duet with Gilmour and Waters, but Waters split in the 80s. He left the band due to musical differences and has since taken credit for most of their work. It would have been awesome if they got back together at some point but now there's a whole thing between them over Palestine. It's a mess.
All of the members sing in the doctor portion or doctor sounding half of the song that Rodger Waters did. And David Gilmour's half of the song is done exactly like the album. Of course David Gilmour is the one with the ethereal voice and the guitarist who plays one of the best guitar solos in history live during the second solo!!!
The original version had one guy delivering the verse vocal... he was the classic lineup bass player. In this newer reformation (in 1994, and as far back as 1988), they decided to change the verse melody and let the band (minus David) sing the verse. I'm late to this party, so I'm sure everything I said has already been mentioned... so I'll just say... keep rockin' Pink Floyd (you can't go wrong with that!). ❤👍😎🎶
there was 1 more fucking song after that in that show btw. Yes, I shit you not.... but I kinda think "Comfortably Numb" was better... 30 years later. 👍
PF were the best live performance band ever. I was at that performance in 94. Best show I ever saw. After Roger Waters (who wrote these lyrics) left they were a 3 piece but toured as a 10 piece for live shows. Top musicians, best sound system and best visuals ever.
There he stands - probably the best guitar player on this world - David Gilmour. With a T-Shirt and Jeans, looks like the guy living next to you! And plays this song after 2 hours show, this solo has he even just started the show.
This was the middle song of a 3-song encore that night. They followed it and finished the show with Run Like Hell. Highly recommend you check that out, along with Sorrow and pretty much the whole damn Pulse concert, cuz it will all blow your mind. How about a full live performance of the entire Dark Side of the Moon album? It's in there. Go get it.
I love how David Gilmore is wearing jeans and a T shirt like he was playing with his grandkids in the park and was like well, grandpa has to go play a concert now.
This version actually has about 50 seconds of the ending solo cut out. There are a couple of versions of why that was done. One is that this was during a time when VHS was king, and it was done for length considerations. The other holds that Gilmour dropped a couple of notes during the edited part and he wasn't satisfied with it. There is one spot where you can kind of tell he may have dropped a note, but it's still just every so slightly this side of heaven. The uncut version is on UA-cam if you want to see it. I has some different camera angles in places, and also shows better how dazzling the giant disco ball really was.
@@UnfilteredReactions there was indeed a small interlude as all members left the stage briefly and then came back for the final two encores ("Wish You Were Here" and "Run like Hell").
2 of my other favorites from Pulse 1994 is "ANOTHER BRICK IN THE WALL" and "LEARNING TO FLY" ...But you should add to you list of all time greatest live solo's "VOODOO CHILD" By Stevie Ray Vaughn live in Austin Texas. And the studio version of "MAGGOT BRAIN" by EDDIE HAZEL or "I WANT YOU" by EDDIE HAZEL.
the whole Pulse concert is amazing. It's not the last song... the last song it's also epic, and Sorrow too... try Sorrow and Time ... also at the Pulse concert... and enjoy.
This was well after the split. Roger Waters left the band not long after The Wall. The band continued with David, Richard and Nick, and did quite well in fact. Most of the "music" came through David and Richard anyway. And while Roger's lyrics were profound, Floyd found their way after Roger left. Richard died in 2008, and there are a number of Floyd songs David will not do anymore without Rick. But David is going strong at 78 years young, with a new solo album out last month, and a concert tour going on right now. In fact here is David doing Comfortably Numb 2 nights ago in London: ua-cam.com/video/qxVbkQPSc_M/v-deo.html ( David Gilmour - Comfortably Numb - Royal Albert Hall London - October 9 2024 ) It's recorded on a cellphone, so it's not real slick, but the genius that is David Gilmour shines through....
The lead singers for Pink Floyd were Roger Waters, David Gilmour and sometimes, Richard Wright. Waters left after "The Final Cut," and is not in the Pulse concert.
Try Dire Straits Sultans of swing, Alchemy live. Pure guitar (solo) mastery there too For Pink Floyd try "Keep Talking" from the Pulse '94 gig - you can't go wrong with any of that gig.
Anything from the Pulse concert will blow your mind!! Thanks for the reaction!!
The only thing better than Pink Floyd is Pink Floyd live.
Agree, I was there on the 1st proper night. 1st night seating collapsed, cost earls court a fortune. Best concert ever.
I’m so jealous!!!

And if you're wondering no that wasn't the grand finale! The song run like hell is and it's even more spectacular when it comes to a light show!!! Watching your face after the first guitar solo and then after the second was perfect. I agree, when Gilmour plays, it is like a spiritual experience.
I imagine the sound quality at that concert was unreal.
It was. 🙂
I was there at Earl's Court for that show. Pink Floyd isn't a concert, it's an experience
Watch the whole pulse concert, there are many great songs left to listen to 😊.
I really wish I saw Pink Floyd in concert but I never did. I’ll bet it must have been an experience of a lifetime.
I have seen them live in 88. It was in quadraphonic sound.

Pink Floyd "Echoes (Part 1)" live at Pompeii 1972

That was actually the second to last song of that concert. Look up Run Like Hell from the same show. You'll see why it's the finale.
There are a lot of really outstanding technical guitarists, but only a handful can make the guitar talk directly to your soul, and make it weep. Gilmour is one.
Steve Vai - Whispering A Prayer ua-cam.com/video/ls7lcaMXxYk/v-deo.html It will melt your soul, enjoy.
Loved your reaction nice one bruvva ...pink floyd a true one off
😅I NEVER get tired of this song !!!!
Sorrow from the same concert! 😮😮
From the same Pulse collection, please check out SORROW, and also RUN LIKE HELL.
@@keyrat1753 I’ve never heard of either of these songs.. what albums were they from
@@UnfilteredReactions Run Like Hell is from The Wall album. Sorrow is from Momentary Lapse of Reason.
@UnfilteredReactions Instant subscription. Please do a react to both of these songs soon they are masterpieces.
I do agree with you that the entire concert is well worth watching though.
the last song of Pulse concert 1994 is Run like hell .. 😎👍 All Pulse concert is very great . ✨✨
My Dad Hated Rock and Roll but he really liked Pink Floyd. He called them Lavender Lloyd.
I wish we were in the alternate universe where Roger Watters and David Gilmour weren't mortal enemies.
@@seantimmons5900 wait what? Tf happened?
@UnfilteredReactions This song was a duet with Gilmour and Waters, but Waters split in the 80s. He left the band due to musical differences and has since taken credit for most of their work. It would have been awesome if they got back together at some point but now there's a whole thing between them over Palestine. It's a mess.
@@seantimmons5900 free Palestine. Free the world without religies
They ended the show with "Run Like Hell" and it is barn burner.
Super reaction dude. I believe 'Run Like Hell' is the encore (last song) from this concert. You should check it out. Once again, nice job...enjoyed.
I cry every time I see this concert
Not bad for guys who actually started back in the mid-60s! This concert is almost 30 years later!!
You've just experienced, arguably, the greatest guitar solo in history! 👍
Love this song ❤❤❤
Back then everyone in the band could do multiple things. Everyone had NATURAL TALENT. That my friend is no one other than pink floyd.
Great reaction! Don’t change 👍
Go get it.
Greatest guitar solo ever. Period. 💪🏽🎸
That did not close the show. The whole concert was amazing.
I love how David Gilmore is wearing jeans and a T shirt like he was playing with his grandkids in the park and was like well, grandpa has to go play a concert now.
This well beat today music of today
Timeless music 👑
Love your reaction, I also have to say that you remind me of Joe Walsh lol and now I can’t unsee it 😂😂
Love your reacton
I recommend you watch the remastered version for better footage. In fact watch anything Pulse remastered, be blown away by their talent 🔥
Cool. Thanks for sharing.
David Gilmour has that Stratocaster plugged straight into his soul
The band is just fantastic, that is really what I think...
oh by the way... which ones Pink?
😂😂😂
It wasn't the last songs. Run like Hell was the closer, and they nearly blew up the joint.
@@glennbrock6560 how tf did they follow this? lol was there like a small interlude between?
To shamelessly steal a joke:
I wanted a guitar for Christmas
My guitar wanted Dave Gilmour for Christmas
totally understand.
the whole Pulse concert is amazing.
In fact here is David doing Comfortably Numb 2 nights ago in London:
ua-cam.com/video/qxVbkQPSc_M/v-deo.html ( David Gilmour - Comfortably Numb - Royal Albert Hall London - October 9 2024 ) It's recorded on a cellphone, so it's not real slick, but the genius that is David Gilmour shines through....
AND…About 1 minute of the second guitar solo was cut from the performance to fit the film format on VHS tape.
The lead singers for Pink Floyd were Roger Waters, David Gilmour and sometimes, Richard Wright. Waters left after "The Final Cut," and is not in the Pulse concert.
keep going on Pulse
Try Dire Straits Sultans of swing, Alchemy live. Pure guitar (solo) mastery there too
For Pink Floyd try "Keep Talking" from the Pulse '94 gig - you can't go wrong with any of that gig.
I'm sure you've heard Money. Check out the live version from this Pulse Concert, you'll be equally impressed
If you want to really have your mind blown, please react to their live in Pompeii , Echoes, it’s awesome
Go watch Run Like Hell from the same concert...final song of the show...incredible!
