If you haven't yet, it's an absolute MUST you check out Comfortably Numb live Pulse version!!! I Pink Floyd promise, you will not be disappointed 😉 It's proof David Gilmour is the G.O.A.T
you have to wacth part two were Nick Mason is beating the living daylight out of the drums breaks a stick throws it over his shoulder picks up another and carries on NOT MISSING A BEAT awesome
You need to watch the full "Live at Pompeii" film. It is stunning and a must see for Floyd fans. It's out on UA-cam and somebody even upscaled it to make it look amazing
Yes, widely considered the first PF masterpiece-and I agree. This song represents the beginning of a string of masterpiece albums from them. PF is the best band that ever was, their music will live on forever. As alanwhetstone wrote below, there are two parts.
This band has been my favorite through the years. I've followed their musical journey since first hearing them when I first got out of the Marines in my early 20's. I'm now drawing near 72 years old and it never gets old.
I saw them on the Dark Side of the Moon tour in 1973. The first set was Obscured by Clouds, When You’re In, Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun, Careful With That Axe, Eugene, and Echoes. The second set was DSotM, front to back. First quad speaker show I ever saw. Damn, what a show.
3 of the 4 guys performing in 1971 in Pompeii (Mason, Wright & Gilmour) also performed live at Pulse 1994. Roger Waters (bass guitar) left Pink Floyd before Pulse.
Meddle is my favorite Pink Floyd Album. I know many prefer Dark Side and later albums but for me, I will listen to this over the more acclaimed albums that came later
Absolutely, part 2 tomorrow, and thanks much for reacting to the song that turned me into a Floydian back in 1972. I listen to their music every day. Just found a bunch of bootleg stuff and concerts I didn't know about on UA-cam. Thanks again!!
When Live in Pompeii was released in our local cinema, me and a friend went to see it several times, seems like a lifetime ago now.. you’re absolutely right in your ‘float off and forget your troubles’ analysis of the piece.
Wikipedia: In July 2016, Gilmour returned to the amphitheatre where the filming took place and performed two live concerts, this time with an audience. While there, he was named an honorary citizen of Pompeii.
Nice reaction video! I wish you would have watched the full length version, but you can watch the 2nd part of Echoes for another reaction video. This was only half the song. Keep the Floyd videos coming!
My first Pink Floyd concert was in a 1200 seat theater in Cleveland, Ohio prior to Dark Side of the Moon. They did play a couple selected songs from Dark Side but it was posting earlier work including much of Meddle. It's the first time I experienced surround sound as they had speakers place throughout the theater including the rear of the balcony area. My understanding was that they generally lost money on these tours due to the smaller venues and the extra equipment they had to haul from show to show. Hearing Gilmore's searing leads and the other instrumentation move back and forth across the stage as well as around the the theater was amazing. Roger Waters played much of the concert with his back to the audience. They were fantastic!
Should really be listened to in one hit, but back when youtube was starting they had a limit to the length of any videos that could be posted. There is a complete version somewhere on youtube. Worth listening to the Pulse version as well.
Andrew Lloyd Webber's Phantom of The Opera them is an almost direct "borrowing from this song. The second part not on this recording is similar to the 1970s original British "Dr. Who" theme song
Pink Floyd & Led Zeppelin The Yin & Yang of Rock Music If Led Zeppelin is a brilliant blinding white, Pink Floyd are the deepest blackest black. If Pink Floyd is a sine wave Led Zeppelin is a Sawtooth Some people ask which is the goat, but these two are the two sides of that coin. And if you ever try to split a coin you just take away some of its value ❤
One of the most sublime guitar solos ever written and signposts another future beautiful solo on Time which showcases similar techniques including Gilmore's incredible pitch perfect bend control.
@SalvoG, I think you would absolutely love Pink Floyd's live performance of High hopes during their Pulse Tour. It's out.of.this.world. Do yourself a favour and treat yourself to a spine-tingling experience.
Oh wow. I’ve been trying to get a Floyd album on Patreon. Baring that, this is fantastic. Echoes is, to me, their magnum opus. You would not believe how many joints were smoked to this song. And that was just at my house! ✌️😜
The studio version is not as good, in my opinion. Only because ....This is one of the best of the best live gigs ever!! No fancy lights or extras, which is obviously very authentic and real. Love it bro..
the studio is a must; otherwise you can not qualify as a PF Fan, maboy. also, with the studio recording you get no nonsense like splitting in 2 parts - WTF they did this for ?
Watch the movie and you’ll learn about the making of on the run from dark side of the moon. You get to know the band a little bit. Any studio version of this is garbage compared to Live Pompeii. The base riff is just so incredible and David Gilmour bends those strings without any fear of them snapping just to get to the note that he wants in that millisecond.
Hi will you ever react to Culture Club from the 80s? Time (Clock of the Heart), Church of the Poison Mind, Karma Chameleon, Do You Really Want to Hurt Me are some of their greatest tracks.
Should we listen to part 2 tomorrow?
HECK YEAH!!! 🤘🤘
hurry up LOL
YES!!!!!
If you haven't yet, it's an absolute MUST you check out Comfortably Numb live Pulse version!!! I Pink Floyd promise, you will not be disappointed 😉 It's proof David Gilmour is the G.O.A.T
Definitely
Every single living person should have to listen to this at least once in their life.
RIP Richard Wright.
Only Pink Floyd Worthy to play for the Gods and the Ghosts of Pompeii...
You said it! 🤩🙂
you have to wacth part two
were Nick Mason is beating the living daylight out of the drums
breaks a stick throws it over his shoulder
picks up another and carries on
NOT MISSING A BEAT
awesome
David Gilmour is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE GUITARIST!! He delivers a story without words.
best master piece ever !! I heard this every day
The sheer FUNK groove later in the song is jaw-dropping
You need to watch the full "Live at Pompeii" film. It is stunning and a must see for Floyd fans. It's out on UA-cam and somebody even upscaled it to make it look amazing
"Most people think of us as a very drug orientated band. Of course, we're not. Honest, you can trust us."
20 yrs ago , @ 4 am . Pissed drunk and high .... Still remember it 😊😊😊😊.

Yes. To me, Meddle started their run of masterworks.
Oh yeah, part 2 tomorrow! This is my favorite Pink Floyd era.

I saw them in London on the same tour, a mind blowing experience.
lucky man !!! I never see PF and not the beatles !!!
If that was at Wembley Arena …I was there
3 of the 4 guys performing in 1971 in Pompeii (Mason, Wright & Gilmour) also performed live at Pulse 1994. Roger Waters (bass guitar) left Pink Floyd before Pulse.
I have, about 1,000 times 😂😂😂
Echoes is the song that made me fall in love with Pink Floyd
Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun, for me. This followed shortly after though.
Your comment is spot on and exactly how I feel! It’s truly a “Forget everything else” song!
The drumming is my favorite part of this..........
Both parts of this are huge & should be watched by anyone who loves music, to have been part of the crew & been there would have been awesome.
Welcome to another world, my friend. 🥰
And now you know where Phantom of the Opera Musical came from...
Hah hah - actually I think Andrew Lloyd Webber was also listening to The Cure's "Cold".
spot on... Webber stole it but Waters decided to let him getaway with it...haha well said Dom
I think all those souls approved of the show. Love it!! Yes sir please part 2. Thank you
Meddle is my favorite Pink Floyd Album. I know many prefer Dark Side and later albums but for me, I will listen to this over the more acclaimed albums that came later
We need the rest of the track from these young Lads 🎸
Absolutely, part 2 tomorrow, and thanks much for reacting to the song that turned me into a Floydian back in 1972. I listen to their music every day. Just found a bunch of bootleg stuff and concerts I didn't know about on UA-cam. Thanks again!!
Where??????

YES -please react to part 2 of Echoes in Pompeii.

To finish your experience part 2 is a must tomorrow. It is hard to believe that 4 musicians made this wonderful song.
Wish I could listen to this for the first again!
The real Pink Floyd🤘
Nice reaction video! I wish you would have watched the full length version, but you can watch the 2nd part of Echoes for another reaction video. This was only half the song. Keep the Floyd videos coming!
One of the best live performances ever- ranks ups with Pink Floyd's Comfortably Numb Pulse

paaaaarttttt twwwwwooooo......paaaaart twwwwwooooo
In due time after part two, you should check out the David Gilmour/Richard Wright final performance of this track. It’s so good.
Pink Floyd & Led Zeppelin
The Yin & Yang of Rock Music
If Led Zeppelin is a brilliant blinding white, Pink Floyd are the deepest blackest black.
If Pink Floyd is a sine wave Led Zeppelin is a Sawtooth
Some people ask which is the goat, but these two are the two sides of that coin.
And if you ever try to split a coin you just take away some of its value ❤
Recommend circling back to the entire studio version. Also, from this same performance, One Of These Days, Nick Mason drum showcase!
100% do the studio version. It's the best of all of them.
Cool Beans! 🤗 Echoes! 🥰🐰
I just listened to this last week as I fell down a rabbit hole after listening to time
Awesome true reaction! Thank you!
One of the most sublime guitar solos ever written and signposts another future beautiful solo on Time which showcases similar techniques including Gilmore's incredible pitch perfect bend control.

Queremos 2da parte, excelente reacción…
I plan on doing just that - get into bed, put on the headphones...and just listen.
You should react to the entire Pompeii performance
Thank you so much for reacting to this song. You're amazing. I love your channel.
Oh boy, what a great trip to take. I'm looking forward to doing that with you. Thanks for sharing
Best end of the night veg-out song ever.
Thanks for the reaction, that was relaxing. Yes please, part two asap ! ! ! !
Loved your reaction!
Also, when you get the chance, check out their - *_One Of These Days_* - video from Pompeii too, please.
Love the quick stick flip by Mason around the 7:36-7 mark of your video.
Mustard been a bitch to get all their electronics hooked up there! Awesome stuff!
Hello SalvoG, try this version " an Island Tour" in 2006 absolutly fantastic !
Craftsmen. Master Craftsmanship. Pro's.
Drives me nuts that there's that edit at the beginning of the song, presumably from HDPinkFloyd Channel. Stop cutting bits of the song out dangit.
Once you have listened to part. 2 try listening to Dave Gilmore,s remake, echoes live in Gdansk, it's a totally different monster of a track,
Dude there is another hour of this concert that was only a bit
Second half plz😅
The studio version is not as good, in my opinion. Only because ....This is one of the best of the best live gigs ever!! No fancy lights or extras, which is obviously very authentic and real. Love it bro..
😎👍🎶🎶
TES PLEASE 🙏🏼
We as an audience have no problem with a long reaction tbh.
I assume everyone knows what happened at Pompeii?
Cut the "ping" out of the studio version and use it for the sound when I get a text message.
the studio is a must; otherwise you can not qualify as a PF Fan, maboy.
also, with the studio recording you get no nonsense like splitting in 2 parts - WTF they did this for ?
Hello can you do reaction video eurythmics when tomorrow comes that is my favorite song for them please

Hi will you ever react to Culture Club from the 80s? Time (Clock of the Heart), Church of the Poison Mind, Karma Chameleon, Do You Really Want to Hurt Me are some of their greatest tracks.
Turn off the world music.
As a Floyd Fan i far prefer the LP version for me is 50% better than this , i do not know why people listen to this if you havnt heard the original
you only had half the track ! you've been scammed.
The "concert" begins and ends with Echoes. Why not do the whole thing. Nobody does the whole thing.
2 parts
Here's the full version ECHOES from pompeii ua-cam.com/video/PGwPSPIhohk/v-deo.htmlsi=OjNHG3JW1R3MAh-I Meddle best album ever
