This is one of the greatest songs EVER in my book... It used to be on the RADIO back in the 70s 80s often.

That entire concert is the gold standard for live performance. I was lucky to see the Pulse tour in Foxboro MA, mind blowing!

Pink had great backup singers...the soul and the interpretation of dying,

Dan and Sifa, thank you for playing this version from 1994....oh how time passes! Whoever can tackle this vocalese song I admire because it is very difficult to get the emotions right considering it is about dying. I saw the Floyd in 1979, sans Waters, but the musicianship was spot on and it is great David is passing his experience on to Romany and also Charlie, who wrote lyrics for the new album. Hope you get to see them in the States because I don't think I will see them in Australia again....but I still cross my fingers!

The 2nd singer, Durga McBroom, probably had the longest tenure as a Floydette. She was also in a band called Blue Pearl with Youth from Killing Joke. It was mostly dance music, but unusually, I liked it. Gilmour and Wright played on some of their songs. They have a video called Alive where Gilmour does a solo whilst popping out of a flower. As far as I'm concerned, anytime you put Floyd members together with Killing Joke members, you can't go wrong.

2nd singer is Durga McBroom. And her sister Lorelei McBroom sings (or sang) for The Australian Pink Floyd show which is an excellent cover band. Or was it the English cover band, I don't remember. One of those bands got their blessings from David Gilmour.

So the first lady singing is the wonderful Sam Brown, unfortunately she's had vocal cords issues and even after an operation she still couldn't hold a note, she can't sing any more, she did have a hit herself With a song called STOP, which she co-wrote, and is a little bit of a classic in itself, now her career writing songs for other people, she's also a daughter of a British legend Joe Brown who had quite a few hits in Britain in the 60s and will plays everything with strings.

A man of taste, nice one! Love Sam, every time I hear the raw throated scream she lets out at 2:16 it sends shivers down my spine, glorious.

A great song and this is a fine version but you can't beat the DSOTM version with Clare Torry doing the vocals, better, than the 3 vocalists trying to cover her here.
Blue pearl has been mentioned but Sam Brown had a successful time in the 80's with about 8 top 20 singles hits. Her father was a big rock n roll star in the 50's/60's, joe Brown.
I saw a concert from this tour incidentley.
While this is good, it lacks the "Soul" Clare Torry had.
nevertheless, good pick and good reaction

Nice but I still say Clare Torry did it better.
Edit: I'm 99% sure that's a pedal steel that Gilmour is playing.

Ah I was just going to point of that David just finished a concert tour for his new album, along with Romany (his daughter), but you obviously went to see him live. Not bad for being 78! And Romany is indeed talented. She excels at Between Two Points:
ua-cam.com/video/Yv4--p6bAxo/v-deo.html ( David Gilmour with Romany Gilmour - Between Two Points (Later... with Jools Holland) )
She has inherited some of David's musical genius, and looks remarkably like a young David as in this wonderful photo album of Romany growing up:
