I get a lot of questions on my job site saw. Since I use it mostly for theater projects I don't have a chance to show it much so I thought I would make a video to show my job site saw and it's features. I also get a lot of questions on how I modified my table saw sled to fit my job site saw, so I thought I would address that in this video as well. My table saw sled also has a miter saw and tenon jig that are very useful as well - see links above for the video and plans.

I'm fascinated by your theatre stuff - and see how other people do the same stuff I do. I'd love to see more of it.
Thanks - I’ll see what I can edit together
Nick Ferry is the man! UA-cam is better when your videos are on my feed!
You’re going to make me blush lol
Yes, tour of theater shop would be cool. Thanks!
It’s funny that I came across this video after leaving a comment on your crosscut sled video. I think this one kinda answer what I was looking for. Thanks Brother.
Walnut is gorgeous!!!! Can’t wait to see it. So good to see you. Hope all is well. Found you probably five years ago. I’m one of the 3M. Still love the sled!!! Take care and thanks for making videos.
much appreciated - the video editing has hit a snag as my computer crashed - I hope I can pull some videos from the hard drive - either way I have some cool stuff coming up - thanks for the continued support!
Good to see you! Your crosscut sled video was one that got me really into woodworking. I found myself looking for a video made by you, Jay Bates, or April Wilkerson for everything lol. So it’s nice to see you have some videos uploaded!!
That’s awesome - that’s so cool that I could be a part of getting you into the hobby and enjoying it
Wow! Maybe it’s time to upgrade my 1970s craftsman table saw. Tour is a good idea👍
If it works it works
Hi Nick. You are looking much thinner . Very good to see you are doing well with this covid .
Take care and thanks for all you do for UA-cam
Thanks - I’m down over 100# and feeling great!
I use my crosscut sled from your plan all the time. It makes for cutting super accurate matching pieces.
My buddy does that kind of work. But more electrical I think. I did tell my Mom but she just gave me the 1000 yard stare. Good video. Keep 'em coming.
Lol - I don’t know what that was all about :)
Nick Ferry around 7:57 you say “subscribe, comment, like, um tell your Mom”. Lol
Yeah I never know how to end these videos
Hi Nick! Nice all in one saw with wheels! Didn't know they had quick adjust height and angle. I hate turning those cranks. Good to see you man!
Thanks Steve - It’s a feature rich saw - we really need to hangout again soon -
@@NickFerry you two need a friendly competition of some sort. I'd love to see more videos from both of you. :D
One thing I’m concerned about though which was mentioned in the video is it being difficult to hit on an exact height for a dado. I really wish they had made 3 or 4 turns instead of 1 for full range. I played with a Dewalt today in a shop and their equivalent saw takes 40 revolutions, one extreme to the other.
It's always good to see my buddy Nick uploading videos! Hell, if Nick made a video of a pet hamster, I'd watch it... lol Sure, Nick, I'd love to see more of these types of videos! Thanks!!
Believe it or not, I would have guessed that’d be your answer - I always appreciate the support brother
Okay, so I gotta know... did you guess that "yes, I'd like to see more of these types of videos" or "a movie of a pet hamster?" (grin)
Theater shop tour would be great
any video you make Nick would be awesome
Your set building efforts have been neglected in these videos. I love watching the problem solving - on the fly fixes and solutions. So --- yes ... more please.
You are correct - I have a couple sets filmed but yet to edit - hard to get footage under time constraints - I do hope I get to show some more - thanks Clyde!
I agree with Gizmo, tour of that shop would be awesome brother :)
Thanks brother
I've got that same saw, and I really like it.
Good to see you again and oh my mom loved the video! 🤭
Hey nick just wanted to say I haven’t been on UA-cam in the past year or so, but you look great. Good job! The video was also good.
Thanks much - I’m down almost 100#
nice to see you back doing vids😁any build projects coming soon?hope so really miss your old vids
Thanks I appreciate that - I had the flap sander video like I mentioned in this video 99% done and my computer crashed and I’m thinking that the whole thing is gone so I’m not much of a tech guy and I’ve been putting it off for a few weeks now
I’ve been a Master Carpenter and designer for The Portland Players in Maine for years. Theater builds are definitely different than standard carpentry.
Absolutely - and actors can break anything
Nick, thanks for the job site crosscut sled video! Before I start building, did you ever come up with a video on how you use the two T-tracks you dadoed into the base?
My pleasure - I use them in this video - Ⓕ How To Make A Shadow Box (ep59)

Andy main sled video show the miter insert here - Ⓕ Make A Table Saw Cross Cut / Miter Sled Combo (ep58)

The main reason I designed it with tracks was for accessories like my tenon jig - Ⓕ Spline And Tenon Jig - All-In-One (ep67)

@@NickFerry Thank you again and again!
Great video! Please make more.
Thanks much - I intend to have a few coming out soon
My mom loved the video 😄
I knew it! :)
Great video. Have the same saw and love it. Would love to see any theater build to see how it differs. Mahalo for sharing! : )
How do you find getting an exact height for a dado?
Good to see ya Nick! Very cool stuff, love to see more... Break a leg my friend..... 😂👍
Thanks much Mike 👊🏼
I liked the video and would like to see a tour video.... Thanks
Theater stuf is cool...and if it gets you to release a video again within the next 6 months, even better. ;) I've missed seeing you.
Fair enough - I really need to find an editor
Awesome job Nick, thanks for the info! 😃👍🏻👊🏻
Thanks Fred 👊🏼👍🏼
When my friend ain't looking, I'm stealing his Porter Cable dolly jobsite table saw 😝
If you need, I can distract him by dropping a board or something?
That’s an interesting new look...
I have to do something to keep the ladies at bay :)
Nick Ferry lol!
I liked this style of video.
Thanks for the feedback - it’s always easier not having to mess with the camera
Nice video Nick! Thanks for sharing it with us!💖👍👌😎JP
Thanks JP!
That's a well designed saw, not sure about the one turn height, maybe would be better as 2 or 4 turns, which would still be better than the multiple turns.
Need more theatre stuff, getting bored with all the 'boxes' made by other channels :D
4 I would hate, 2 would probably be ideal - I’ll make sure to do what I can about the theater stuff - I know I won’t be building much for a bit yet
I totally agree, and the Dewalt takes 40 turns.
New subscriber. I want to ask if you can produce content for the budget friendly community😂. For example, how to get the most out of a Ryobi table saw or even a Harbor Freight table saw how to make a Crosscut sled for a low features tool.
Thanks
Take a look at some of my earlier videos and I did one where it was like 40 bucks and that included buying the tools and the materials for just a simple end table
@@NickFerry cant find it
good video thank you
My pleasure
i like it is a nice place to work.💯👍👏👏👏👏👏❤️
Thanks - it’s one of my favorite shops
Great video and channel. Recently retired builder/cabinetmaker/custom furniture maker who downsized from a big Delta Unisaw to a SawStop JSS Pro at my retirement home (no shop, dammit) ;) . If you don't mind me asking, what brand miter slot bars work with your JSS for your sled? Thanks!
Thanks much - they are from Kreg - I have a list of all the material as well as the full article on my sled here - nickferry.com/2015/07/table-saw-cross-cut-miter-sled-in-one-ep58/
I need a sled for my job site!!
I agree!
Nick, When did you say you cut that walnut? Hmmmm, hair grew very fast!
it sure did - the walnut is a funny story but it's been 2 maybe 3 years
Welcome back
Thank ya
You need a blue shirt and some oxy clean brother.. Heck of a salesman! 👔
And for 5 easy payments of $19.95
🤗✋️👍👍👍
👊👊👊😀
wow. I am actually first :)
Nailed it!
Actually I am screwing around. With my bandsaw. New pixie smoke controllers. 😁
@mom, watch this video
Long hair .......long beard...... not in garage anymore....just admit it.....your homeless now.....lol
Shhhh - don’t let the cat out of the bag 😂
@@NickFerry LOL! On a serious note I love your videos I have learned a lot and I hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving and God bless you all!
Thanks man - comment like that motivate me to make more videos - you and your family have a great thanksgiving as well!
