As ingenious as their escape plan was, they really need to learn to quit leaving enemies alive only to fly at their throats later. Too much dialogue by Isaac and Luke when it's time to kill. They would not have suffered some of their losses if they had killed the professor, Raggs, and any other resistance they encountered at the facility. Very frustrating to see them make that crucial error over and over, that's increasing their personal casualties. The girls were better warriors in that regard.
Well, they are just kids, not trained soldiers. I probably would have been hesitant to kill another person at that age too. That said, someone like Ragg? I would have blown his brains out without hesitation.
@charlescameron1769 The only time Luke talks is to yell : "Isaac we have to go," or "Isaac, shoot him." But Isaac's too busy talking to or kissing Indigo, or staring at a gun on the ground while someone's stabbing Luke. Ben even has to yell to Issac: "Hurry Issac, NOW!" Indigo yells "get up" more than a Mom yelling to her son wrestling.
I'm pretty sure the flashlight is not only brighter than an iPhone display but uses less battery, but again it's maybe not kids, especially in the aftermath of adrenaline... would think of... though it's lucky he thought to grab the phone off the floor on his way. Still not sure how he got through the door but the coat didn't or why Meeks closed it so fast, but it does add to the drama. Really enjoying this book too. :)
My sentiments exactly! Isaac and Luke did far too much talking even back at the facility when they should have been killing! They really caused themselves some problems and losses by not finishing more of the "bad guys" off when they had the opportunity.
@@charlescameron1769 agreed totally and completely - lol - although - they were young... and if I were faced with that kind of situation - who knows how I'd behave - maybe curl up in a ball and wet myself??? lol Still an excellent book! lol

@@tylermontoyia9424if you think about a child doing this which they are it makes sense they are reluctant still to take life that was there lesson that it is kill or be killed and ragg coming back teaches them that there is no such think as a half measure
Luke should've been the leader for combat situations, Isaac could be the leader for other things, all he does is waste time talking to Indigo instead of engaging in combat. Plus Isaac's complaining about his head hurting and his body in pain, while Luke is in serious pain because his wrist is broken, and his hand is swelling with blood due to the vessels leaking, and serous fluid (wbc's) flowing to the infection caused by the break.
They should've SHOT RAG ASAP! But noooooooo he shot the professor in the hand! Kill the most dangerous person first! Ugh. So many people hurt for no reason. 😅😅😂 here I am irritated at a author for not killing rag lol
Loved this story except a couple points. How do they not kill the psychotic professor? And lethal rag? They had the evil incarnates tied up and behind closed doors but let them go leaving them with a sharp knife… so dumb.

Ok so HSVjo707 GH responded to my comment about killing the main villain but for some reason, I can’t respond. His response was a typical “I have no legitimate argument so I’ll comment about the writing and not killing the villain so fast”. To that I say… “No shit.” However I am talking about this as a “What if this were real” scenario. If you can’t stay within the story, don’t attempt to debate with me.
Oh come on, gimme a break with this Mr Rag! Its a great story but some stuff is making me grind my teeth. Should have cut his head off a few chapters back!
@ScottMedburyAuthor Sorry about criticizing Isaac so much here, but I just realized your intention is to show that he's still so young, and even a "leader" freezes up and isn't perfect.😢
Note to authors: it's frustrating for readers/listeners when everyone acts like they are in a Walking Dead episode. Multiple chances to end threats but leaving them alive is silly.
Leader boy: I never follow my instincts…derpdydoo…neither will people in his other books…women would have been better leaders for this group, but these books are about men…dooderpidoo…
These books are too compelling to listen to when I can't sleep, great pacing, and excellent reading.
Ben: "Isaac hurry, we're running out of time!"
Isaac: "Wait, my coat's stuck in the gate." 😂

Yeah it’s definitely annoying and really doesn’t make sense but it is entertaining

Scott Medbury is making the holiday season so much more enjoyable, thank you Mr Medbury
You are very welcome, hope you have a great one Jon
Best book I've listened to him a long time❤
Thanks Karen, I appreciate it 💕
great way to wake up and finding this, thank you Scott
When he smacked him with the gun I lost myself here at work lol Great stuff
Who else loves Luke?!
Reminds me of the bf
Isaac talks &thinks too much. Luke says: "Don't think just SHOOT!"
Ben's good too, yelling "Hurry."
Isaac: still talking.
Adam is an awesome narrator
The best! Very lucky to have found him to bring my stories to life 👍
Eggzackly so grasshopper

Time for Isaac to smarten up. His fault about the hand!
Infection. Invasion. Chaos. My favorite story lines. The only thing missing is huge chunks of concrete falling from the sky.
Should have shot rags when the first opportunity presented itself
@cmcclain201 Yes, but Isaac was too busy looking at the gun on the ground.
(53:08) spoiler - wth! All those kids just stand around while Rag attacks Isaac?? What the ever-lovin-heck!

Fantastic work. Thank you Scott.

They should have taken Ragg and Leroy out in the cell.
Nope, just stupid.
The main character made so many stupid decisions, it was painful to listen to.

@@1Melody1963 Luke wanted too, but Isaac wanted to zip-tie them.
Love this series, just wondering which ones are next?
Ready for another book please...
@ScottMedburyAuthor
Luke endured the worst pain ever- nerves being cut. But he would be a brave champion!
I can’t understand why they would want to protect their enemies. The Chinese killed millions and these guys want to just work it out

you teach me, as to how it should be done.
Stupid. Could have killed the threat twice.
Put his crew in danger.
I'm through with this soap opera.
If you were even wanting to escape should have put rag away on 1st encounter hes the game changer

Aww. He'll get what's coming to him, don't worry...
These kids don’t get what “any means” means. Kill massive threats, like Mr. Rag.
God it’s awesome

I cant be sorry for anything rag does to them here. He should have died in the dorm room.
I mean, I get the need for an antagonist in storytelling, but geez-lousie they had so many opportunities to just kill Rag! 🙄
I’m surprised they didn’t rush to warn the Chinese military about the professor’s virus…….

Why would they not kill Ragg? It doesn’t make any sense, nor does it fit with their character….??? Frustrating and disappointing….
Great characters and the story is exciting . Don't like Ben's accent much...he sounds a bit like an elderly butler from an old movie..
Phoque ewe
I love the ben character 😂 does sound like he's about 70 though
I actually like Ben-sounds like a couple of guys I knew in college-exchange students from the UK.

They could have killed rag and the professor and had no more storyline
Come on man, stop with the “warning shots”
