    I have a Kioti CS2510 and love it. I bought it for all around maintenance of my property (box blade leveling and driveway repair, garden tilling, yard leveling). My attachments are all 4' and this machine handles them all with ease. I also bought the 60" mid mount mower which does a great job. One of the biggest selling points for me was the twin pedal for the HST. All of the others that I was looking at had the heal pedal for reverse. I had enough problems with leg cramps so I didn't want to add to the problems with heal and toe acceleration. When you couple it's features and price the Kioti was an easy winner. I know I should buy American but even the Deere's have outsourced their parts to China.

    Have owns this tractor for 2 winters now. I run a 96inch plow 16 inches tall on the loader and haven't had any issues with it pushing snowbanks for 100 ft near Syracuse NY. Heat is a must have when it's zero outside.

    I bought a Kioti CK2610HST and absolutely love it. Absolute pleasure to run. Might not be quite as refined as Deere or Kubota (very subjective) but those brands are well above the Kioti in price and can't beat the Kioti where it really counts; performance, capabilities, and weight.

    My family has owned 5 Kioti tractors over the years ranging from 35hp up to 60hp. Most have been very good and two not so much. One was purchased used and not maintained by the previous owner so NOT Kioti’s fault. The 2019 NX6010 had some issues unfortunately and had to be returned. That being said, the A/C in the 6010 was the best I have ever been around. In the middle of summer I had to keep it on low because it would freeze you out! I really like the heating elements in the back glass. That is a great feature and very useful if you are snow blowing. My back up tractor is a 2007 DK55 with a cab and it is a beast! It has dug us out of some crazy blizzards.

    As I remember, a "non-live PTO" is one like would be found on a tractor like a Ford 8N. On that tractor if an operating rotary cutter (bush hog), if you depressed the clutch, the momentum of the mower would continue to drive the tractor through the transmission.

    • @aerospot2
      @aerospot2 4 роки тому

      Yes, and this can be dangerous when using something like a rotary cutter. I have an 8N and use an 'over-run' clutch that is mounted directly to the PTO shaft. It ratchets the energy from the implement instead of feeding into the transmission.

    • @pappyone9790
      @pappyone9790 4 роки тому

      Not true. In the old days yes but new tractors have something called an overriding clutch. It does not push the tractor anymore. I know because I had a small 30 HP Case IH 20 years ago and that was a great feature. I had another tractor that did not have a live PTO or overriding clutch and it would "push" you. I would not use that tractor to bush hog. Also I think Tim said that this tractor a had Hydro transmission so that would also make a non live PTO a non issue.

  • @Itsa_Mea
    @Itsa_Mea 4 роки тому +1

    My NH 1520 PTO works in the same manner. Hydrostatic drive with a clutch to disengage/engage PTO. I like it because I can ease it in for things like the brush hog.

    • @alienation1270
      @alienation1270 4 роки тому

      To me it's a must have feature when bush-hogging. It's saved my hind-end countless times as it's a much faster reflex to push a pedal with my foot than locate a switch or lever as my hand is often not near that switch or lever but my foot is always close to that pedal.

      Don't fall for hydro-static, slip-o-matics, or non particulate filter (25hp or less) tractors. Buy New tractors (long warrentys) , unless used is 1/3 the price equivilent. Go for the "iron" instead of creature compforts. The 35 horse power is the starting point ---- the more gears the better, and ALWAYS get a unit with a Clutch and TWO Brake peadals. Never use the tractor for fire wood to heat your house ( at best only pays 80 cents an hour), sell the fire wood to make the payment. Allways buy a New set of pallet forks at day one. All other atachments buy used at halve price or less.

    After researching for 3 to 4 years, all manufacturers and UA-cam content I just ordered a CK4010SE HST. Not sure why Deere went to aluminum rear end but I feel this is one heavy duty tractor. John Deere seems to be setting up the compact tractors with features for the home owners, which is not a criticism but actually smart as more homeowners are purchasing these compact units. Kioti comes factory with everything I wanted with having to spend a ton of money on the extras and it is much more stable platform and heavier. The research was hard but the choice was easy for my model.

    Kioti is really starting to make a name for themselves. I like the competition. I know that most of your true farmers are pretty brand loyal but the upcoming hobby farmers more appreciate a comparable machine for usually a lot less money. Nice review on the kioti.

    My CK2610HST will be 3yrs old the end of March, 340 hrs not one problem. Tim I pull a 6 1/2' disc with notched or chopper disc's front and rear. If I have food plot ground that was tilled the year before when I'll use the disc to retill. Nice video and demo, 23° here in Michigan this morning did you try the heater?

    Not many current machines have a 2 stage clutch. (Not to my knowledge).
    My dad's 1959 JD 430 standard had a 2 stage clutch that I HATED, due to trying to shift the transmission in the 2nd stage. Dad taught me to engage the transmission first, then go to 2nd stage to start the PTO.

      Incorrect. Actually several have two stage clutches at this point.

      Dual stage clutches are very common. JD had major issues with clutch plates sticking especially on the 70 series gear driven compact diesels.

    I've always seen disk harrows used in conjunction with a plow to prepare fields. I have an older Massey Ferguson disk with lever adjustment. For the garden I run through on full cut and then come back and hit it again with a slight cut. ...or I borrow Dad's tiller.... The tiller seems to do a better job on our hard clay, but sometimes it is tied up elsewhere.

    Thanks for the info I'm thinking about trading my 1025r in on one. Also with the mid mower. I don't particularly care for there's since it's not and automatic hook up like jd half to get on the ground and put the pins in. So I'm still on the fence. My local dealer won't get them till June so I've been checking out all the videos I can. Lol that way I'll have most of my research done on them. Thanks again

    Live PTO means the clutch won't turn it off when you clutch to shift. It's an old term, it was more important back in the 50s when you had an after market loader with a PTO hydraulic pump, if you ran it on a Ford 8n that doesn't have live PTO, the loader hydraulics would shut off when you shift compared to a Farmall M which had live PTO, the loader hydraulics still ran when shifting.

    Live PTO means the driveline is "live" -always moving. A Dou Clutch (2 stage clutch)- Which has 2 stages- The 1st half of travel, disengages the trans drive, then the bottom travel disengages the PTO driveline.
    The overrunning clutch allows the PTO to turn free if the implement continues to travel after disengaging the PTO driveline. The prevents "flywheeling" and the momentum of pushing you forward by turning the drive and the transmission.

    The CX2510 is a much more substantial tractor than the JD 2025R. The CX2510 is over 450 lbs. heavier (2260 lbs. vs 1800 lbs.), has greater engine displacement (87 ci vs 77 ci), loader lifts 250 lbs. more (1092 lbs. vs 840 lbs.) and has greater hydraulic lift capacity (1203 lbs. vs 915 lbs.). And it is at least two or three thousand dollars cheaper than the 2025R. The CX2510 is a definite upgrade from the CK2510 (they finally reinforced the flimsy side step, dropped the treadle pedal), but I believe the hood is still plastic (the new CS 2520 hood is now steel). The CX2510 seems to be a great tractor, but it still seems a little rough around the edges compared to the JD. But you seem to get a lot more tractor for your $$$.

    good info. i had two case-ih dx33 and dx35 both hydro.. the hydro's seem to be weaker in power than a manual shift trans. i used those tractors to do a lot more than they probably should have. those two machines needed a gear between 1st and 2nd; as 1st was too slow for much but 2nd lacked some power at the higher end of the speed.

    • @TractorTimewithTim
      @TractorTimewithTim  4 роки тому

      Oh yes. A hydro will not get as much power to the ground.... but is much easier to drive in PTO or loader usages.
