I really wonder who would like to go to Austria for work and pay high taxes. Austria is perfect for vacation.

@@galaxychildrenacademythega4977 I am from Austria, so I probably know more than most people here - including history and the history in Austria of my family tree.
But I would not like to work in that country, it's too tough (compared with other countries which will leave more money for the same work in your pocket)

@@peterkolta1207u seem so ignorant.... What about the social benefits like free education and healthcare funded with this tax money....? Do you know how much day care costs in places like Singapore USA or even Switzerland.. plus health and education costs.... Give a better point if you have...

@@xtopher960 Sorry I live abroad and we have all that and the taxes are significant lower. In fact we just had a hospital stay due to covid19 2 weeks ago for 1 week and it was absolutely affordable (100$ co pay, single room isolation). We have medical checkups every year (I'm self employed), however that's more a cultural thing it seems, the checkup costs 100$, we pay ourself however in companies it's usually paid for employees (and even family members). I never experienced that in Austria at least it's very rare that people below 40 do regular checkups, or are invited by companies to go for regular checkups.
The education system is far better than in Austria, until the age of 14 kids are usually 1 year ahead compared with Austria (I saw the tests, however students need either help from parents or afterschool support to master the educational path).
The myth that high taxes are required to deliver a good system is a scam that's getting burned into the people's head to justify the political / administrational mess that's going on in Austria and Germany.
Again I am from Austria, I like the landscape of Austria and visit it regularly, but I do not want to earn my money in Austria. Overall my impression since the last stay was that many people are not satisfied with their situation - especially younger people. It was not like that 15-20 years ago, people were merely super proud and Austria was more affordable for them.
Also we travel Austria a lot -- since it is my home country and my kids should have some connection with it.

@@xtopher960 Seems like the other post is getting reviewed by someone, Austria has a weak industrial base. If you have a small business your supplier is probably called Amazon. If I need parts (screws, pneumatic fittings, etc) I can just call my neighbour and I can have the parts until the evening. In Austria I sent an email to a supplier and did not even get a reply.
As mentioned in the other post (which is getting reviewed) the Education system in Austria is not very good - I went through it and in every aspect of my self employment it wasn't enough. I saw tests from students abroad at the age of 14 - they were at least 1 year ahead at that time and items were much more detailed. Everything can be learned and recalled afterwards certainly but the more someone knows the easier the start will be afterwards.
High taxes are not needed to deliver good services! Especially not like in Austria - just recently there was an article in Austria that the real tax burden reaches up to 63% for the average.
