  • In this video Brigid and I take a quick, unexpected trip to Lower Saranac Lake in the Adirondacks, NY. This is one of the most beautiful lakes I have ever visited and it is loaded with big bass and aggressive pike. Enjoy this episode and maybe you will get to see Brigid catch her personal best fish!

WOW! Great video and amazing coincidence(s)! I've been fishing Lower Saranac every year since 1972. It's my spiritual home I guess? The most amazing part is that you're also fishing my own favorite spot, Lonesome Bay. I typically camp on an island, usually Green Island, so it's a relatively short paddle away. The even more strange coincidence is that you're also using my favorite lure! Years ago I swore by a white Mepps spinner, that is until I discovered this one. Looking forward to another visit this summer with my wife and Newfie (if I can keep him out of the water)! Fun and tight lines!

That's incredible Ken! I've been fishing there since I was 10 years old. Very few camping/fishing destinations that are more peaceful and beautiful than this. Lots of great memories. Always loved fishing lonesome bay and what a coincidence about the lure! Good luck to you!

Is there a chance the lovely Brigid has a spare grandmother who enjoys fishing, can back up a boat trailer and rustle up a decent meatloaf once in awhile?

😂 Unfortunately no but we can find someone for you!

What kind of lure were you using for those pike? Awesome fish!

Thank you. Our family has made those spinnerbaits for several decades. Its called a Foxfire: Basically just a long arm spinner bait with a colorado and fluted indiana blade. Will probably start making a few this winter for sale.

Great video! Saranac is a great lake to grow up near. Not trying to be that guy, but for future reference regarding the (what I'm assuming is) drone footage in the video, it is illegal to launch a drone from state land in the Adirondacks, which the majority of Saranac is.

Thanks for the comment. I always loved the Adirondacks. In regards to the drone thanks for the info. That will be useful for next time. I guess I'll just have to start attaching go pros to some bald eagles.

Hey there, Nice fishing! I have booked an Airbnb on Saranac in October and am looking for some lures to catch the big pike! I've fished there years ago with spinners with great success and other times not so much. Are you selling any of those lures that your family makes yet or can you help me find the right lures to purchase? Let me know! Thanks, Lee Ann
