Barry Mazur's relationship with IHES dates back to 1962, when he first came to the Institute as a visiting professor. For over two decades, he returned to IHES almost every year, thus nourishing fruitful collaborations and friendships.
In 2018, thanks to a generous gift from William R. Hearst III, the Institute created the "Gretchen and Barry Mazur Chair" to honor Barry and his wife Gretchen, who has often been by his side during his visits to the Institute.
The film tells Barry's surprising story, capturing both his wit and a profound approach to life, love and learning.
