As a mathematician, I find it amazing and intriguing that we’re seemed to be drawn to Bach in a particular manner; he perhaps gives us a glimpse into the platonic world of mathematical ideas. What a beautiful portrait of this math legend. Bravo!!
These videos are EXTREMELY well done. I would’ve never heard about some of these concepts if it wasn’t for these videos. Please bring these back for next year’s winners!
professor Mazur has had an incredible life and career. it's interesting to note that he's received the top subject-specific prizes in both topology and number theory. and the theorems he listed here are very impressive. well-deserved that he got the Chern Medal p.s.: nice clip of him playing piano. I do love the Bach well-tempered clavier
I can at least see how, because I'm an Australian "bushie", why I'm not your real Mathematician, and why the bio-logical aspects of Chemistry, is more appealing. Making the i-reflection containment state association with logarithmic-interference condensation modulation cause-effect mechanism is "very agricultural" in feel.., so I can identify with this couple with their complementarity.
Mathematicians are the sweetest people? I've found physicists also nice people, sometimes more animated, perhaps. But my field, computers, tends to collect grumps. Don't know why.
After 62 years of marriage he still is "the sweetest of them all". THAT sounds like a huge success and a ton of happiness to me !
I find most mathematicians are poets at heart.
Certainly, listening to barry mazur in this video, evokes that sentiment.

Loved this video. Now I know a little more about you, Barry, and who my son, William Stein, was talking about. You and Gretchen are amazing people.
How knowledge brings enlightenment, is reflected upon the soul.
This is a beautifully endearing video.
Soo cool seeing all these familiar faces being the recipients of these awards.
Beautiful little film. Lovely to be introduced to Barry's lovely wife Gretchen. I love Barry's voice.
Barry Mazur it's a great person and mathematician. And that's a lot.
Mathematics and Love transcends Space and Time
Love the animation accompanying the narrative :)
this is so beautiful!
Nice explanation of KNOT ..Happy to be alive 😀
wow what a wonderful video
Beautiful
What music is playing in the background I I may ask? Thanks for sharing.

So wholesome.
Inspiring!
Congrats to him
