If Apple doesn’t do something to release the iPad, iPad Pro sales are going to plummet. The hardware, A12x, M1, M2 and of course M4, are so far ahead of iPadOS, will be no reason to upgrade.
Primary device has to be a MacBook Pro or just a real computer in general due to its flexibility for me. I think what really does it is the multi-tasking and I also run a VM using UTM to try out software while protecting the host
Rather the macbook pro, but even that isn't needed. Any mac from 2015 and up handles everything but games well. Same goes for any ipad from 2019 and up. There is only a tiny minority of professionals who work against the time who really need a superfast machine. For everyone else, it simply doesn't matter if the video or 3d renders in 10 or 20 minutes. And it doesn't matter if an app launches 2 seconds slower, etc. And display quality? Even the retina screen on the ipad 3 from 2012 is gorgeous.
I’ve realized that my “old” MBP M1 8GB and iPad M1 I have two great computers and two monitors which allow me to be mobile and work comfortably anywhere. Not a penny spent in other new devices.

I’m a touch-centric kind of guy. Can’t do without it cause I work better and faster with touch devices. But in times of power and no limitation, MacBooks would be the preferred choice no doubt . However, iPad Pro also has the power chip + touch capability but only is limited by its IpadOS. If Apple June event resolves the limitations placed on IPadOS and improves performance and efficiency that allows pro apps to be ported on it with the touch experience,….i will be getting IPAD PRO M4 1TB this year if I have the money. I bought my son the MacBook Pro 14 inch M3 512gb a week ago (he’s into music production and I got the iPad Pro 11 inch 512 gb,Magic Keyboard and the Pencil Pro,I’ve been producing music on the iPad for a number of years,what I like most about the iPad is the ability to send/receive documents and be able to sign them,the pencil is interesting and will take some getting used to ,hopefully apple will introduce some more software that will show the real capabilities of the iPad,the 11 inch is not that thinner than the 2nd gen iPad Pro that I previously used, it is overall larger because it doesn’t fit cases of the previous model (looks like I will be spending extra cash for screen protectors once the m,art catches up)`
I’m on team iPad Pro and have been for 5+ years. Yes, there are things you can’t do on iPadOS that you can do on macOS, but there are also things you can do on iPadOS that you can’t do on macOS. For me, the things I can only do on the iPad far outweigh the things I can only do on the Mac (versatility, multiple seamless ways of interacting, thinner and lighter, and FaceID! to name a few). I actually enjoy the more simplistic UI and OS. I think it’s better for my adhd. One of the features I can’t live without is slide over, as I keep my calculator, contacts, and ChatGPT there so I can call them up quickly and swipe them away quickly anytime. I run my business from the iPad which involves pdf markups, web-based software, Zoom, etc. I also do all my hobbies (photo/video editing is more fun with the Apple Pencil, as is video editing, and GarageBand is more fun with the touch instruments). It’s much nicer to read and watch media on vs the MacBook as well.
If these were my only choices for a primary computer I would pick the MacBook Pro because I need the full macOS. However, I think the current sweet spot in the MBP line is the base M3 Pro MBP 14. It's a $2K (US) device but comes with an unbinned chip, 18GB of memory, and 512GB of storage. For my use case that is the ideal configuration so I recently bought one.
For most of people out there MacBook pro is more practical and economical when considering the package MacBook gives but the M4 Ipad pro is just stunning but costly when we consider the complete package with MacBook, hoping Apple reduce the gap between them with new improved ipad OS to justify the price of ipad and make it more practical....

I feel like for my use case that the iPad Pro is a much better option. I can still do pro stuff like Final Cut Pro. I can do almost everything on my iPad I could do on a MacBook. But I’m in love with the new iPad display. I feel like this new iPad is underrated. I got the iPad Pro 13 WiFi with cellular. I don’t have to worry about not having an internet connection ever. This thing is awesome.

I'm still looking forward to real life testing of the M4 iPad with bigger graphical workloads like 3D and long format 6k+ video editing. I very much like to do my art but will not travel with two devices just to express my creativity. So far I lean to getting a M3 Pro with so much more power for the same price as the new iPad. What also makes me feel unwilling to invest in both is that apple clearly doesn't just want to create powerful devices for specific users but wants to sell more products... which for me goes against what apple was good at: producing extraordinary tech which expands ones world instead of restrict it.
I share my iPad Pro 2020 tablet with the family and my little one now needs a device in school. So decided to upgrade this year to the iPad Pro M4. I like the flexibility having the device with and without the keyboard and at different angles for the different use cases throughout the day. However, the capabilities of the applications can be frustrating and still find that I need the laptop.

I’ve actually been skimming the net for a comparison video like this. My wife and I recently started a video podcast using only each of our IPhone 15’s for multi angle video capture and the DJI mic 2 for audio capture. I’m new to video editing and I’ve been trying to decide which of these two devices would make the editing experience more enjoyable, using the CapCut app and possibly FinalCut app at some time in the future. I’m currently loading all of the video footage onto a Samsung T7 SSD and editing on an older model MacBook. This video really helped solidify the key strengths for both devices and had great recommendations for use applications of each device. Thank you for making this short but very informative video. The MacBook Pro is definitely the device I will be getting in 2024, but I might also get the less expensive iPad 10 for use on the go as you recommended. Hello Matt, I just got the M4 14” iPad Pro yesterday, I was a thinking of trading in my current iPad Air 5th gen, but maybe I should just keep it and have one in the office to watch videos on my lunch break, what do you think? Later on the year I am going to get an Apple Vision Pro, I know it’s really expensive, but I honestly really liked it when I went to the demo, I am even trying to convince my dad of getting one too. I've decided to upgrade my 2018 iPad Pro to the new 13" iPad Pro as I started having issues with the screen on the old iPad, and the OLED screen on the new iPad does look amazing. I'm just hoping Apple unveil some new features for iPadOS at WWDC that allow you to actually unlock the potential of the M4 chip inside. I really want to be able to use it as a laptop replacement as well as a tablet, but currently it's just lacking those extra features that would make it perfect for both use cases. We'll see what WWDC brings!
My grandparents have an system where we get x amount money for birthday and Christmas where if we don’t use it it stacks up so I think for in Decemberwhere both happens for me I buy myself a iPhone 16 because when I saved up enough to get it payed full I may also get an iPad Pro 13 inch either 512 gb or the 1tb depending on the performance difference when iOS 18 get released this year or next year but at the moment it look like the 512gb makes most sense for me
I’d love to get an iPad Pro for work. Our tablets and tough books are usually either buggy and come with a bunch of technical issues, or heavy and bulky. I’d like a nice light device that works to write reports on.
I have to finally get a powerful Apple Silicon Computer for the very first time so I'm prepared for xcode and swift. So it has to be the Macbook Pro. But for day to day use without the need to run code and designing infrastructure the iPad Pro M4 might be a better choice over a Macbook air. Especially for Students.

Lucky enough to have both, but if I was forced to choose, it would be the MBP. Just more robust and versatile for me. I would miss my iPad though. I use it just as much if not more.
I am going to get myself the latest iPad Pro! I need it for portability. I travel a lot and need to get work done on the go which is why the iPad is more suitable for me. I also have a beast of a Windows laptop to work at home but it is too chunky to work on the go while commuting to work. So, it is the iPad Pro for me.
Trying to figure out if an iPad Pro would meet my needs, initially price had a lot to do with it but seeing that base models of both that the MacBook Pro is cheaper is wild. This really helped. Thanks

Appreciate the comparison. My plan was to get the iPad Pro in 2024 and continue to use my 2014 Macbook for tasks that cannot be performed on the iPad, however now I feel it probably make more sense to upgrade my Macbook with the new Mackbook Pro M3, as the iPad Pro seems limited for my use, so I would need to use my Macbook more than I would have liked.
I just upgraded to the 2024 iPad Pro 13" because of the colour accuracy of the screen for foto and video Color grading. I had the 2018 iPad Pro before but the performance especially while using masks was dropping massively.
I’m eyeing the new MacBook Air or Pro with M series processors after using my reliable 😅 2020 Intel MacBook. As a public health practitioner focused on paperwork and reporting the M3 MacBook Air would be perfect for my needs. I am planning on getting a MacBook Pro but I am kinda discouraged knowing that they will probably soon upgrade to the M4. I have a 5th gen iPad Pro that I love and use most of the time. I use a lot of Adobe Lightroom and photoshop and IMovie on it. Although I do feel like the applications often artificially limit what you are able to do in order to motivate you to get a MacBook Pro. (I am confident that the iPad has more computing power than they are letting me use sometimes.) I still love it though, the user experience is so tactile when editing photos and such. I will try to wait until they launch an M4 MacBook Pro, but if I win your giveaway, I will be excited to use that one.
I bought a high end M3 MacBook Pro and returned it knowing the M4 is coming out this year. I can wait and use my old MacBook and my M2 iPad to do my editing. If I need more power I’ll ask my girl to use her M2 Max MacBook Pro I bought her.

Yeah keep the iPad 5th gen, it still has loads of life in it. The 10th gen iPad what apple sells right now for example is essentially the same

I've decided to upgrade my 2018 iPad Pro to the new 13" iPad Pro as I started having issues with the screen on the old iPad, and the OLED screen on the new iPad does look amazing. I'm just hoping Apple unveil some new features for iPadOS at WWDC that allow you to actually unlock the potential of the M4 chip inside. I really want to be able to use it as a laptop replacement as well as a tablet, but currently it's just lacking those extra features that would make it perfect for both use cases. We'll see what WWDC brings!
I just got a 13” pro and some AirPods I’m also saving for an Apple Pencil Pro
My grandparents have an system where we get x amount money for birthday and Christmas where if we don’t use it it stacks up so I think for in Decemberwhere both happens for me I buy myself a iPhone 16 because when I saved up enough to get it payed full
I may also get an iPad Pro 13 inch either 512 gb or the 1tb depending on the performance difference when iOS 18 get released this year or next year but at the moment it look like the 512gb makes most sense for me
I’d love to get an iPad Pro for work. Our tablets and tough books are usually either buggy and come with a bunch of technical issues, or heavy and bulky. I’d like a nice light device that works to write reports on.
I have to finally get a powerful Apple Silicon Computer for the very first time so I'm prepared for xcode and swift. So it has to be the Macbook Pro. But for day to day use without the need to run code and designing infrastructure the iPad Pro M4 might be a better choice over a Macbook air. Especially for Students.

Lucky enough to have both, but if I was forced to choose, it would be the MBP. Just more robust and versatile for me. I would miss my iPad though. I use it just as much if not more.

I am going to get myself the latest iPad Pro! I need it for portability. I travel a lot and need to get work done on the go which is why the iPad is more suitable for me. I also have a beast of a Windows laptop to work at home but it is too chunky to work on the go while commuting to work. So, it is the iPad Pro for me.
Trying to figure out if an iPad Pro would meet my needs, initially price had a lot to do with it but seeing that base models of both that the MacBook Pro is cheaper is wild. This really helped. Thanks

I’d like to get the new iPad but I guess it makes no sense having the m1 version cause it’s not really that much of a difference for the expensive price it has
Appreciate the comparison. My plan was to get the iPad Pro in 2024 and continue to use my 2014 Macbook for tasks that cannot be performed on the iPad, however now I feel it probably make more sense to upgrade my Macbook with the new Mackbook Pro M3, as the iPad Pro seems limited for my use, so I would need to use my Macbook more than I would have liked.
I just upgraded to the 2024 iPad Pro 13" because of the colour accuracy of the screen for foto and video Color grading. I had the 2018 iPad Pro before but the performance especially while using masks was dropping massively.

I'd rather have a MacBook pro. Just the convinience of it's one piece design instead of all extra additional accessories for iPad. However, iPad is a great second device with the sidecar feature.❤

I’m not sure I heard you correctly. How do you come up with $1400+ US for the new iPad Pro with M4, Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil ? iPad starts at $1300, keyboard is $350 and pencil is $129.

I'm still impressed with the M4 iPad Pro and that's what I might get. I mostly stream, browse and use MS Office.
I am planning on getting a MacBook Pro but I am kinda discouraged knowing that they will probably soon upgrade to the M4. I have a 5th gen iPad Pro that I love and use most of the time. I use a lot of Adobe Lightroom and photoshop and IMovie on it. Although I do feel like the applications often artificially limit what you are able to do in order to motivate you to get a MacBook Pro. (I am confident that the iPad has more computing power than they are letting me use sometimes.) I still love it though, the user experience is so tactile when editing photos and such. I will try to wait until they launch an M4 MacBook Pro, but if I win your giveaway, I will be excited to use that one.

I've been thinking of getting a MacBook as I use Apple iPad, iPhone, and watch.
I bought a high end M3 MacBook Pro and returned it knowing the M4 is coming out this year. I can wait and use my old MacBook and my M2 iPad to do my editing. If I need more power I’ll ask my girl to use her M2 Max MacBook Pro I bought her.
iPad Pro for mobile work and Mac mini M2 Pro for home use.
Deciding on MacBook Pro or iPad Pro as well. My previous iPad Pro recently died from slight warping
