Wouldn't have saved you from the ending part with "bus", but still. Same thing with saying "distilling" instead of "distillation".
They asked about the name of the process, so saying that you're doing it (distilling) i'm not really sure it'd count. The process is called distillation

Alexander Hamilton is an answer that'd make Steve Harvey go "Huh? B-But he's not even a president.... I guess he is on the $10 bill but the prompt specified presidents... ALEXANDER HAMILTON!" *ding!* And then he just throws his hands in the air like "Alright, sure!"

My family had a version of are you smarter than a fifth grader that was an interactive DVD that you played directly with the DVD player remote, and it wasn’t animated, it was just a bunch of recorded clips of the host and kids with basically just a set of menus for the questions. It was great (and honestly really clever how it worked, they fit a lot onto basically just DVD menus)
A thing to note is that for the IRL versions of these game shows they do give the hosts a lot of discretion regarding whether to accept close answers, so saying "Vision" instead of "Eye Sight" in Family Feud, or saying "Distilling" instead of "Distillation" in Are You Smarter probably would have actually been accepted.
Yeah, the problem is the games probably only program one answer (maybe multiple for typos, but not for anything other than the specific answer they were looking for)
For anyone who doesn't get the "You say 'Naked Grandma' and they give you money" part, it's a reference to an episode of family feud that when Steve said "Name something a burglar wouldn't want to see when breaking in" and a guy puzzes in and yells out "NAKEN GRANDMA" and it was actually one of the answers
I was so excited to see Robert Fulton as one of the answers cause he was actually my great-great-great-great-great grandfather. He invented the first working american steamboat that helped revolutionise water travel. His mother-in-law's third cousins were the Schuyler sister (yes, THOSE schuyler sisters). I was so excited when I found out about all this cool family history I had.
If you're the typical American shes referencing, elevating this with rosemary, parsley, basil, and thyme rlly is an easy way to ease into using more aromatic spices
As someone who was actually on a game show, it was the most fun time I ever had, but I did screw up a bit - idk I think the cameras just magically make people dumber. But I still won some money and get to flex about it
2 months late, but I think it's partially due to the stress. It is similar to when a woman/man is put on the spot and told, "I'll give you "$X if you can name a woman/man in the next five seconds." There's other street interview-game examples of this happening, like with trivia. The person put on the spot may be mistakenly viewed as a fool by people watching the content.
You won't believe how relieved that made me. I was so excited to see my name in the video and when Alicia made Jaiden lose with the wrong answer, I was genuinely angry at the kid for letting us down
6:29 fun fact! I went on the Price is Right, two days before my birthday, and two days before Drew Carey's birthday. I didn't get selected as a contestant, something that I have been training for since I was a child, but Drew Carey talked with me during the commercial break (because they film the show with the commercials playing for the audience to determine timing) and then I won a door prize after the show, which was the Price is Right video game and some money that was lower than the taxable prize threshold. I guessed everything that came up while there and only one of the prizes did I not guess closer than the person who was up there. My brother and I used to watch the Price is Right every day in the summer as kids and he's even better than me. He can guess most showcases within $300 of the actual retail price. I don't know if he'd ever be able to compete though as he runs corporate events and has done events for CBS.
As a UK viewer, the only gameshow that kept its name over here was The Price is Right. Family Feud became Family Fortunes. The two hosts I know being Les Dennis (Who lasted for 15 years on the show) and Vernon Kay (who mainly ran the Celebrity version). 'Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader' was done as 'Are You Smarter Than a Ten Year Old?'. That was a little after my time though. You want to see British Wit though? The Weakest Link. Anne Robinson's era was legendary for that.
As far as I know, here in Sweden, the only one out of these shows that even existed here is "Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?" It's name is "Smartare Än en Femteklassare" which literally just means "Smarter Than a Fifth Grader".

I absolutely do have all my spices alphabetized lol. I have a really cute hanging spice rack with multiple sized baskets, which basically functions as my baking section of my pantry. Spices are alphabetized on the higher, smaller baskets. Then stuff like flour, cocoa, and salt in the lower, bigger baskets.
@@BreadGoblin001 What? You think it's efficient to have your spices be all mixed up when you bake and cook regularly? Or, worse, to think I have a spice and not have it when I need it because I couldn't easily check.

One thing I had to realive about family feud is that the answeres on the board aren't necessarily the correct answers, just the answers people put for the survey.
Unfortunately, a good portion of money earned on gameshows is actually taxed away, meaning that when they say you won X amount of money, you're not really getting X, but Z amount of money from X money deducted by Y taxes. It's something I talked about with my mom and thought it would be interesting to add to the comments since this video is about gameshows.
This is worse when you win non-money prizes, cause you have to pay taxes on those too. Everyone is excited to win a car or a vacation, until they learn they need to pay about half of what it's worth in taxes.
Thank you! I wasn't sure if taxes applied personally, but I had heard of this before, and unfortunately it makes a lot of sense. But yeah, fun trivia's fun, so, your input's appreciated. ^^
James Watt’s steam engine was based on that of Thomas Newcomen and Watt improved upon it in many ways: A separate steam condenser was added, which greatly increased the efficiency of the engine. An original linkage converted the vertical movement of the piston into circular motion for which there were more industrial applications. A flyball governor was used to regulate the amount of steam allowed in the engine. This system, combined with a heavy flywheel, made it possible to control the rotation speed. A new distribution system, which applied steam to both sides of the piston, increased the power of the engine as well as the steadiness of movement. Watt’s first steam engine dates back to 1765. It is estimated that by 1800, he and his partner, Matthew Boulton, had built 500. The caption reads in the original French: Machine à balancier de Watt. Keywords: 1870s, 19th century, black & white, industrial, machine, mechanics, refer

The family fued thing where you gave a CORRECT answer but because others didn't think of it you don't advance is why i prefer the UK gameshow called pointless. Same survey rules but the more people guess it the wrorse it is for you and each "pointless answer"(a correct answer that none of the hundred people got) increases the cash prize.
That vision/eye sight part is so relatable for games like these. It’s like those online math classes where you give the correct answer and it says you were wrong. Then show the exact answer you just gave! You know why it did that? I learned years later. You probably put a space somewhere in the answer… automatically makes it wrong and there was no warning that would happen.

BERNARDO
Walter white: jaiden we need to play family feud with saul and your birds to win money
Hi Bernardo
@@Chillalien06 Hi Tony!
3:04 “Name a yellow fruit.”
“Orange.”
Also, a counter to Jaiden’s spice argument: the spice rack in our house hangs on the pantry door, so there’s no front or back. Instead, we have the A’s at the top going down to the Z’s or whatever the last spice is at the bottom. My mom has accidentally put chili powder in her coffee instead of cinnamon.
Your poor mother
I feel bad she had to deal with that 💀
At the grocery store they have all the spices arranged alphabetically.
yeah people alphabetize spices but they do it to names way more often, like that's such a shame that wasn't on there its kind of ridiculous especially since in school kids usually line up by name in the US
Could have been worse, could have been Cumin.
I don’t like bitter or spicy, so bitter *AND* spicy would be horrible…
Well, look at that. You won $1 million dollars!
Major congratulations 🎊🎉
Alexander Hamilton is an answer that'd make Steve Harvey go "Huh? B-But he's not even a president.... I guess he is on the $10 bill but the prompt specified presidents... ALEXANDER HAMILTON!" *ding!* And then he just throws his hands in the air like "Alright, sure!"
He was a founding father so technically it counts
@confusedfish1644 The Founding Fathers and the US Presidents aren’t necessarily the same. Alex Ham wasn’t a legitimate president.
@@confusedfish1644 a president is a president, and he lost the election he was in
@@pheonixrises11 not just that, but one of the rules for being president is that you need to have been born in the usa or on american land as in military bases. this rule could have been established more recently, and don't say, "OH BUT THE FOUNDING FATHERS WERE BORN IN THE UK", but hamilton wasn't born in the US, if I am not mistaken he was born in the carribean.
@@yourneighborhoodfriendlysc8142 Thats a common misconception. There is a clause in the consuntion saying anyone in the united states at the time of the consituation's ratification will automatically be natural born citizens no matter where they were born and eligible for presidency
I have that too, we tried it once and never touched it again.
Yeah, the problem is the games probably only program one answer (maybe multiple for typos, but not for anything other than the specific answer they were looking for)
@@p.brooke Agreed. That is a big no-no for game shows in a video game package.
Not me being genuinely EXCITED as hell for Alicia getting the second answer right. The storytelling in these animations always have me so invested 🤣
The fact that an ad just popped up right before the reveal made it even more intriguing💀
12:33 Alicia has had more character development here than the entire Game of Thrones cast, what a great character arc!
This is great, Jaiden! Your animation has improve so much over the years! The colors and the new outfits- *chef’s kiss*
Yeah, her team is doing great on these animations.
Who would have guessed that little Jaiden would have won 1mil from mr beast
what little
I was so excited to see Robert Fulton as one of the answers cause he was actually my great-great-great-great-great grandfather. He invented the first working american steamboat that helped revolutionise water travel. His mother-in-law's third cousins were the Schuyler sister (yes, THOSE schuyler sisters). I was so excited when I found out about all this cool family history I had.
That’s amazing!

“Salt, Pepper, and Garlic Powder” that’s the most accurate thing I’ve heard this month 😂😂
If you're the typical American shes referencing, elevating this with rosemary, parsley, basil, and thyme rlly is an easy way to ease into using more aromatic spices
I do salt, pepper, and cinnamon
That's littweally all I bought when I went away for uni
As someone who was actually on a game show, it was the most fun time I ever had, but I did screw up a bit - idk I think the cameras just magically make people dumber. But I still won some money and get to flex about it

2 months late, but I think it's partially due to the stress. It is similar to when a woman/man is put on the spot and told, "I'll give you "$X if you can name a woman/man in the next five seconds."
There's other street interview-game examples of this happening, like with trivia.
The person put on the spot may be mistakenly viewed as a fool by people watching the content.
Winner from the Airsoft Battle Royal. Winner from Squid Game UA-camr Style
Alicia had gone through a whole arc, from being a litteral child to a million dollars answer
You won't believe how relieved that made me. I was so excited to see my name in the video and when Alicia made Jaiden lose with the wrong answer, I was genuinely angry at the kid for letting us down
The kids all have one really good subject and one bad subject
That is quite a long fun fact
As a UK viewer, the only gameshow that kept its name over here was The Price is Right.
Family Feud became Family Fortunes. The two hosts I know being Les Dennis (Who lasted for 15 years on the show) and Vernon Kay (who mainly ran the Celebrity version).
'Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader' was done as 'Are You Smarter Than a Ten Year Old?'. That was a little after my time though.
You want to see British Wit though? The Weakest Link. Anne Robinson's era was legendary for that.
More like are you smarter than a literal child.
As far as I know, here in Sweden, the only one out of these shows that even existed here is "Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?" It's name is "Smartare Än en Femteklassare" which literally just means "Smarter Than a Fifth Grader".
I am sorry! "A little after your time." How old am I?? 😂😭 I remember that show
@@3lli0 i remember it too, maybe they’re talking about when it started airing/when it peaked? I hardly remember it, but i stopped watching TV when i was like 12 (aside from recorded stuff with my parents).
@An Emu I remember watching it when I was a kid.. I dunno when it aired in the UK. 2007 or 8, maybe?
Coming back to watching this video after watching Jaiden win Mr. Beasts UA-camr challenge!
I don't know how you do it but you turn things that sound really simple or straight forward adventures into the funniest bits and videos and I find it amazing. I never fail to laugh at some point in any of your videos and I love that! Thank you for making these
It's the animations that help.

You could totally do your own version of family feud, where you had someone poll your audiences, then use the percentages as points.
Wouldn't that make it so that more charismatic people are more likely to have "right" answers?
I watch Family Feud with my parents almost every night at dinner - It never ceases to astound me at how impossible some of the answers are. There was some question like, "What could you wear to shock somebody?" - And one of the answers was "nothing". Oh screw you.

Evil Jaiden is probably the most adorable thing to exist.

I don't want to spend 5 minutes looking at each and every spice bottle when I can just look at the Ns for nutmeg or the Cs for cream of tartar or whatever. Or, worse, to think I have a spice and not have it when I need it because I couldn't easily check.

13:33 He literally says it correctly (distillation) but then they write distilling instead. PAIN🤦
One thing I had to realive about family feud is that the answeres on the board aren't necessarily the correct answers, just the answers people put for the survey.
It is funny that she actually won in the MR. Beast video😂😂
James Watt’s steam engine was based on that of Thomas Newcomen and Watt improved upon it in many ways:
A separate steam condenser was added, which greatly increased the efficiency of the engine.
The fact that she didn't know who Watt and Edison were and didn't think to guess the guy who *has a unit of power named after him* is rather concerning.
The figurine bundle is actually really cool, but one problem was the ankle of the ari bot was snapped when it arrived. It wasn’t a big deal, it was easy to snap it back into place, but just wanted to warn you guys about that possible flaw! Other than that the art is cool and the figurine is super cool too!

You know why it did that? I learned years later. You probably put a space somewhere in the answer… automatically makes it wrong and there was no warning that would happen.
