Concerning SPOILERS. You can watch safely. The only spoiler-y things come from the first case (AKA the tutorial) and one of the side cases. The rest is out of context and won't spoil a thing. I think it was a clever idea to put the game in the early years of Sherlock’s career as a novice investigator. It allows the player to make ‘mistakes’ without feeling like they’re doing the character injustice. The ambiguity of the cases, and the story itself is also very refreshing. Without going into spoilers, I think the ending is a great gift to classic Sherlock story fans.
I was skeptical about this game too but ended up really liking it. It does a great job setting up a sequel. I can't wait to have an open-world Sherlock in London with Jon Watson at my side!
you need to realize FRogWares DOES NOT HAVE MO CAP capabilities. All Facial animations and boy movement including lip sync are HAND DONE .. they are 10 persons Company, they brought in up to 80 people at the highest point of work... so remember sometimes you can polish a turd and get a turd .. but that rare occasion; you find a lump of gold.
Oh yeah, I know this is not a AAA game and Frogwares did something great with the ressources they have at their disposal. But still, it's difficult to not compare those facial animations to every other big games out there, especially when the scale of their games is just as big sometimes. They also aim for realism, so when there's such a strong emphasis on character's faces is tough to not see "the flaws". In my opinion, since they are such a small team, they should try less realistic art styles for their next titles. This could be interesting :)
Many People Didn't like The idea of Open world and Young Sherlock story But I pretty Much Like That Thing..It was pretty interesting probably Short Compared to old games But still Good
One thing that NOBODY said is that Sherlock, unknownlingly has Dissociative Identity Disorder and Jon is an alter that took bad memories from him. During the main story, Sherlock and Jon fuse, creating a fully formed personality, but he still has DID. At the end of one of the choices, Sherlock actually splits again, creating a different version of Jon. I find this detail neat since back when DID wasn't a known mental illness. However it is hinted throughout the game and exposed in the ending.
@@mgiebus1869 Hmm I see. There are action sequences in this one but theu are optional if I recall correctly. As for the puzzles, I really enjoyed them. But that entirely depends on your tastes :)
Problem is with the game having "choices' and not "guiding you" it needs to have a result at the end, witch i think does not. from what i understand your past choices don't affect the ending but your choices right before the ending affect the ending if that makes sense. unless i got it all wrong.
Like I say in the video I haven't finished the game yet so I cannot speak on the matter. But from what I gathered you're right. It is in fact a bit disappointing, but me personally, what I look for in those kinds of games is mainly for my decisions to affect the end of the individual cases. Which it does pretty well I think. Your decisions also affect the world to some degree. For example there's a case that can lead to Sherlock being hated by a certain community. And you see this have an effect in Cordona's streets. Could have been pushed further for sure, but still :) Thanks for watching by the way!
Your gameplay choices do have an impact, in the form of Jon's comments and relationship with you. Gameplay notes each time you ask pointless question, solve a case in a questionable manner or kill bandits instead of apprehending them.
@@MichaelFromTheAttic I play alot of point and click or detective games, but the Sherlock Holmes series lacked in interest for me since 2-3 games. The open-world was not appealing, the missions were always too directive, and the serious, foggy, londonian tone didin't do it anymore for me!
@@pilpoilplante Oh then this is what you need. If you want the game's difficulty to be brutal you can set it up this way. And Cordona is far from being foggy ;)
@@gacd2104 Because I mean it after having read every and each original SH story by Conan Doyle and played the great Crimes & Punishment and quite good The Devil's Daughter games. This has simply nothing to do with Sherlock Holmes or John Watson.
@@taomahNEGEV I see what you mean, but the reason why they feel so out of character is because Sherlock is supposed to be in his early years as a younger and less experienced detective. In fact, he doesn't go to university until the end of the game. Rediscovering how his mother died will help him mature and forget Jon (the imaginary one) in order to really develop his detective skills The game is made so the mistakes you make don't really matter in the long term, they don't really affect what happens in the books and the other games
evrything in these game is stupid the earsdrop trash u need to find the place in the map then u go look for it trash howe u look for clues in general just trash the old games are way better and time saving

This game deserves some serious attention as We Don't Get Detective games that much nowadays

Glad you liked it :)
The awakened remake is out now!

Yeah I love it :)
This game looks hella fun. I recently beat I Expect You To Die on VR and I had an absolute blast. This looks amazing. Beautiful review
Thanks! 🤟
Good review, happy you got a sponser too
Hey thanks man! Yeah, that was a nice surprise 🙂
Hey Miachel been a while. So far this is my favourite review! Hope this gets a good amount of views
Thanks man! Glad to see you in the comment section 🙂 Happy to see you enjoyed!

love this vid, I think I will get it for my channel :) It looks stunning and really fun!
(The game)
Yes! I'm sure you'll dig it :) Be aware, some cases will really have you scratching your head.
Very good review. Super underrated channel, just subscribed 👍
Thank you very much 😊
Awesome video man! Keep up the good work :)
🤟
Very good review, the best I've seen for this game
Hell yeah! That means a lot. Thanks you Brian 🙂
Appreciate the vid man. It's $30 on PSN right now and I'm on the fence. Love detective games but hated the devil'a daughter
It's better than The Devil's Daughter ;) Depends on what you didn't like about that game
@@MichaelFromTheAttic I thought the puzzle designs were a huge step down. Also the action scenes didn't fit this style of game

I‘m a soulsborne fan. Funny enough that I loved the simple combat here 😊
which is bigger the sinking city or sherlock holmes chapter one ?
Hard to say. I really enjoyed both. I really prefer the vibe of Sinking City, but the gameplay of Sherlock is better in my opinion.
@@MichaelFromTheAttic I imagine you loved the Awakened remake that just came out ! It's the perfect blend of the two.

I was getting bored of the genre, which I loved before. Nice refresh!
When did you start getting bored with the formula?

Very nice
Well thank you very much 🙏
I'll buy the game. Thanks
Please allow automatic and translate subtitles 🙏
It usually does automatically. I don't know how to manually activate it if not available 😕
@FromTheAtticTV it doesn't unfortunately 😢
One of the worst, most irritating Sherlock Holmes games.
Why do you say that?
