I don’t usually leave comments, but really you’re doing some beautiful work, and I certainly feel grateful you’ve spent the time editing and sharing it all with us. I do watercolour, but am thinking of buying some gouache to just make the painting stronger, so I was very happy to find you. Thank you.
aw it means a lot to me to hear that! I don't often leave comments either on people's videos I watch unless I feel very compelled to for some reason, so it's very much appreciated! hope you enjoy the gouache! ^^
I love seeing your technique. I never thought to use gouache thin to thick before. I normally just use it thick which makes it more difficult to get just what you want.
I have a hard time using gouache thick because I tend to use a ton of water XD too indecisive to go too thick :O I enjoy layering and building up my colours gradually ^^
You spent the first several minutes speaking of your abilities negatively. That heart my heart. You are a great draftsperson. This painting is awesome.
I was drawn to your channel because of this wonderful painting. As an artist, I'm also a harsh critic of my own work and I want to go back to traditional art, as I grew up taught in the digital medium. You give me the inspiration to draw more scenery, a lot of artists tend to only draw portraits so yours is extra special!
Please don't be so hard on yourself...it makes everyone else look bad 😂😂 you are soooo good at what you do. So so talented. No one can look inside your head, and see what you wanted a painting to look like from the get go. We don't see the "flaws". All we see is a finished, marvellous piece of art. 💪💕
This is actually one of my favorite paintings of yours. And I love how honest you are and not sugarcoating it. I find that it's hard to talk about how I feel about my illustrations sometimes c: thank you for this video !
I've gotten into the habit of watching (listening) to art videos while doing my illustration homework and I got a kick out of hearing that you do the same! Your videos and paintings are great, can't wait to listen to more :D
The rendering on the sunflowers are so good! Also I really admire the restraint in not overworking the bread shelf in the background, it really does make everything pop and not get muddy
I would love to hear more about your journey as an artist. I also love a good depth and roundness to objects in paintings, which make you feel like you could reach in and pluck something out. Your paintings do have that.
It feels like I could watch this video for a whole day over and over again! Looking at it just feels so satisfying. It's like those game art you see in a game's loading page.. And if this illustration was a game, I would absolutely buy it because of the graphics..
i love this red head girl , she's so adorable and oh my god this paint is so incredibly beautiful , i was shock about how much time you spent painting it but it's worth it , everything in this paint i loveeeeee
I really love this illustration, and it was delightful to watch and hear about your thought process as you were painting! One thing I liked was actually hearing how long it took to illustrate, and how fast you sped up the footage. Time always gets weird in speed paint videos, so it's nice to get that perspective. My experience watching this was NOT negatively impacted by not seeing you paint EVERY detail, so I wouldn't feel bad about excluding some footage due to time constraints! 😄 Thank you so much for sharing!!! 💜
Welcome to UA-cam! I love the chatty style . I also listen along while I paint or am cleaning brushes or what have you. Its nice to hear other artist thought processes and habits. I'm patiely awaiting for my first gouche set to arrive so I can try this medium. I really like your illustration style.
gouache is very tricky and frustrating at first to get the hang of so don't give up on it until you've painted at least 10 things with it! lol it's all about getting that water to paint ratio just right (some ppl say like melted ice cream??) XD thanks for stopping by! :D
I'm really into dolls, and I saw the thumbnail for this video and thought to myself "I HAVE TO SEE THIS LITTLE DOLL!!!!???" and it turned out to be a painting! A beautiful one at that! So, I'm subscribing.
I want to adopt this sweet storybook style like you have it’s so cute. I do realism so I have trouble doing these cutsie looking characters. But seeing these time lapse paintings definitely helps!!
I found you through a YT recommendation, and I'm so glad I clicked on the video. I really love this - so beautiful. It's awesome to watch it being created. I'm excited to see more.
This is such a great illustration! I completely get what you were saying about only listening to videos. I do that a lot when I do artwork and it can be so tricky if the video is more of a tutorial. I can't wait to see the rest of your videos
Love the painting. I wish the camera angle was still. Maybe zoom in from time to time while painting details. It was a bit difficult to watch it from difficult angles
Hey! yeah I hear what you're saying, unfortunately at the moment I'm limited in terms of my filming equipment ( I record with my iPhone! and I have limitations with my tripod) and when I paint I like to hold my painting in hand and move it around haha it's often never sitting in place... I'll keep that in mind though ^^ thanks for the feedback!
OMG. You are incredible. Love the sketch and your choice of colors. You really brought your creation to life. Terrific job of editing. I did slow it down a few times to watch certain processes. I'm subscribing and look forward to catching up and following you.
Love this! I love seeing how you use sepia tone as the main bulk of shadows. Neat idea! I also like this speed because I can see your process, and your art is great from beginning to end, so I dont mind sitting through a slightly longer video.
I just watched your laundry day piece and commented I thought it would be great in a storybook and so would this one. They have a really wonderful endearing quality that's perfect for illustration in young children's books...just a thought 😍
Just found your channel and I’m sobbing! It’s so beautiful!!!! This is my first video of yours that I’ve watched and I can’t wait to binge watch all your videos. I’m so in love with your style and content!!
Wow just realised your a new artist!! Congrats you’ve already gotten so far in so little time! Honestly by this video I thought you would of been doing this for years hahaha xxx
I'm glad you carried on from your sketch, it's so beautiful and so enjoyable to watch. Your talent is way above many, but it seems you didnt feel this way on this piece. It beyond amazing xxx
This is a wonderful illustration! I am so happy to have found your Channel. Gouache fascinates me and I'm interested in learning so much more... Thank you for sharing your abilities and creativity. And your editing is fine, I can't imagine trying to condense 12 hours into 10/11 minutes. AMAZING work all around. 💕🖌️🎨😃
Awe I really wish you would leave in how you take the painting from a cartoon simple painting to a super rendered almost realistic painting. It’s gorgeous I love it.
Yay! Another video! ❤️ I got really excited to see the process of this piece! Thank you so much for sharing it Chris!! ❤️ I love how you make the little thumbnails of the colors and values, it is a pretty important step! Anyway, i wanted to ask, where do you get your ideas from? This is very creative! 💕
aw thank you so much! 😭💕 I try to do at least one colour and value thumbnail for a more finished illustration like this because they are so incredibly helpful, otherwise I'd be lost! I'm not sure where the idea came for this piece haha I think I just really wanted an excuse to draw cute little veggies and fruits and breads! XD
You're welcome!! :,D 💖 And same!! xD I'm very lazy to do them, but it is better if i make them because it helps a lot!! Hahaha, nice! It came out really cute and detailed! This is my favorite piece of yours so far! ❤️❤️(but i love everything you draw!!)
i used to do speed paintting, something that learn is that you dont have to show every section or every moment, just focus in the important part or at least at the more significative... I Really like your paintting
mhhh amazing ! i can draw ob the same skill level but the way you approach color is new to me , it really brings all the colors together , i will not strictly copy this , but make my own little shop or barn and try to do the same things you did here , both digitally and with watercolors (dont have goache)
I don’t usually leave comments, but really you’re doing some beautiful work, and I certainly feel grateful you’ve spent the time editing and sharing it all with us. I do watercolour, but am thinking of buying some gouache to just make the painting stronger, so I was very happy to find you. Thank you.

ooh so so pretty i love it :o
I love your art

This painting makes me feel nostalgic for a time and place that never existed! Thank you for your work!
Your voice + the art + the music nearly made me fall asleep. Its so peaceful I love it!
Lilly Harris 100% agreed
fesh go gulululu thank you for bringing me back to this video omg
This illustration is absolutely fantastic. The warm colors, the character design, the details...so beautiful!
This is actually one of my favorite paintings of yours. And I love how honest you are and not sugarcoating it. I find that it's hard to talk about how I feel about my illustrations sometimes c: thank you for this video !
aw thank you, I'm so happy to hear you enjoyed it! :D
I am in awe of your work. The color pallet your perfect illustrations.
What amazes me is how you make everything look so alive and 3d, there's a mastery in how you do the shadows and light, wish I could too, amazing work!
I've gotten into the habit of watching (listening) to art videos while doing my illustration homework and I got a kick out of hearing that you do the same! Your videos and paintings are great, can't wait to listen to more :D
that's exactly why I feel the need to do voice overs for my videos even though it's so dang hard!! XD
The rendering on the sunflowers are so good! Also I really admire the restraint in not overworking the bread shelf in the background, it really does make everything pop and not get muddy
This looks great, I love that you chose to take a transparent approach to gouache. Too many people on this app go opaque with gouache.
I would love to hear more about your journey as an artist. I also love a good depth and roundness to objects in paintings, which make you feel like you could reach in and pluck something out. Your paintings do have that.
I think your rendering is amazing!! I find gouache very challenging, can you tell us more about the grisaille method?
yes I can def talk more about it in another video where I will be using that method! thanks! ☺️
All I can say is WOW. You are incredible.
I am loving the retro 70's feel, so cute!🍄
Ah each second the painting just got better and better. New sub!
It works great - the pacing. Great painting. 12 hours is impressive to me. My patience tops out at barely more than 3 hours. Love the textures.
마음이 따뜻해지는 아름다운 그림입니다.
I like your picture.
Absolutely incredible! I am speechless!
I love your imagination! I usually work on my own stuff while listening and watching.
Fantastic piece of work. And your drawing/design/composition abilities and draughtmanship are top notch.
It feels like I could watch this video for a whole day over and over again! Looking at it just feels so satisfying. It's like those game art you see in a game's loading page.. And if this illustration was a game, I would absolutely buy it because of the graphics..
I'm in love with the fact that you showed your studies and your sketch!
Thank you, I struggle with color combos and hearing you say the word "harmonious" made so much sense! Thanks! ⭐️👍🏼😊
glad to have helped in any way! ^^
Beautiful style and 3D effect.
every single day it crosses my mind how thankful iam for your videos.
i love this red head girl , she's so adorable and oh my god this paint is so incredibly beautiful , i was shock about how much time you spent painting it but it's worth it , everything in this paint i loveeeeee

Thank you so much for sharing!!! 💜
Fantastic painting! I've been watching stuff learning about gouache. I love the richness and subtlety of the colors. Well done.

Absolutely beautiful work. I love your drawings. They have a great mood and are so fun to look at! Keep up the great work.
This is my favorite painting of yours since the octopus pouring tea for the girl.
It's so cute! I love how much depth you were able to capture in the scene
is it only me that's hearing sadness doing voiceover? overall great job chris~
I do sound quite low-energy XD;; I think it's because I'm struggling to think of the next word to say haha
I'm really into dolls, and I saw the thumbnail for this video and thought to myself "I HAVE TO SEE THIS LITTLE DOLL!!!!???" and it turned out to be a painting! A beautiful one at that! So, I'm subscribing.
woohoo! thanks Carly! :D
