    If you want to check for gold when dry panning, take a straw with you. Tap your last bit cons forward in the pan the blow lightly thru the straw. This will push the lights away and expose your gold. Just don't sneeze! I dry pan a lot in the Arizona desert. Also get your pan down to the last bit and tap the back of your pan, This will walk the stones towards you and you can clear them out easier. Great videos.

    Hi Chris, I nearly always use the Garret Super Sluice in water in the manner you used it dry. I put a single classifier in the garret, shake it vigorously, check the classifier and then pan off using the movements you used dry. It takes me about 3 min to get from a heaped classifier to the ' revealed' stage. I sometimes pan into a second pan to check, but rarely find a speck.

    Due to our water issues ( Lack Of ) we do a fare amount of Dry Washing and panning here in New Mexico. If done right it works quite well. Funny enough it dryer the dirt the Better ! Use of a Serious Vibrator is magic doing dry panning. Seriously ! Build a battery operated Vibrator that you can press ageist the bottom of your pan. You would be amazed at how fast you can dry pan doing this.

    The art of your videography is so wonderful! Really enjoy what you are doing and teaching, but the artistry of the presentation is even better. BRAVO!! I think your pug is what we call caliche. It is dried up groundwater level and is solid calcium with gravel like cement. It is also called calcrete. Our gold is often trapped just at the top of the hard caliche layer. We reach 50oC here where I live.

    Dry Crevasse panning - I liked your video and learned a lot. I have 2 suggestions to make this easier;
    1) Use a classifier for fine material panning, this will make getting the rocks and debris out of your and save you time.
    2) I have seen a guy’s video that used a portable battery-operated hand-held DeWalt wet/dry vac to suction out dirt and gold from between rocks that had tight cracks. He used the long, narrow crevasse attachment. Take some extra filters used for dry use, and fully charge both batteries.
    Bet it works as well for you as it did in the video.
    You can dump the fine dirt from the wet/dry vac into a bucket and wet process it at home - test dirt first, of course!

    • @VoGusProspecting
      @VoGusProspecting  6 років тому

      Becky Elliott as I said in the video classifying helps a lot.

    The Australian Aborigine's used to do what was called Yandein for tin . You hold the material up and tip it into the wind onto a ground sheet and all the heavies end up at the front and lighter material goes to the back.
