Agreed. I took my beautiful black and purple Dyson back in the box to make room on the wall mount for my Shark, but none of the Shark tools will stick to the magnets on the mount, so they just kind of sit around. If Dyson, with their promise of less hair damage came out with a diffuser that left my hair as nice as the Shark's, I'd gladly pull it back out of the box.
I've emailed Dyson asking they do a deeper diffuser & said all the curly community love it but would like a different diffuser so hopefully they do. If more Dyson owners did the same then im sure they would.

I’m so late to the game of the shark hair dryer. I was able to get it at $80 at my local Macy’s store! I didn’t know it cost over $200

Been searching diffuser attatments cause i have a few really good and expensive hair dryers, though lately I've been sticking with only air dry because I also just began to understand how curls work after hating my hair most my life and about a year ago realize it's because it's actually curly. 😂
Most of my dryers probably came with the typical sets of diffusers; but I'm a dumpster diver and saved mine from the landfills, employees do a outrageous job at separating things that go together and cutting cords.
I would spend 80-100.00 though because I'm struggling hard with root volume and the top half of my hair establishing it's curl pattern. While the underneath is curls ma-gee.

@@cg9574 I love, love the dryer. I’ve used it several times and it’s amazing. Dries my hair very quick and with almost no frizz - and it doesn’t get too hot either which is fantastic to avoid heat damage.

I am a hairstylist, first off...I got my shark for Christmas and I'm using it for personal use and I LOVE it! It's heavy for professional use, but for personal use, it's fast and I am loving it!

I have the newest Dyson HD07 and the diffuser is deeper and it has longer prongs than the previous editions.

As an owner of the Shark and the Dyson, I would agree that the diffuser is far superior. HOWEVER, I just RETURNED MY SHARK! Why? The thing gets wayyyyy too hot!!! Dangerously, fry my hair off hot. On the Dyson, you can turn off the heat completely-you can’t on the Shark & that’s huge because the temp is way too hot for anyone’s hair. Just my experience…
Yeah this is what I was thinking as well! However a lot of people who own the Dyson don't even realise that there's an option to turn off the heat, so I don't know if I'll find any comparisons that talk about that. Because so many Dyson owners don't know that the heat can be turned off, I'm honestly unsure if maybe the Shark has that feature too and no one noticed?
@@jessegenao3290 I may call the company tomorrow to ask. I did spend some serious time reading the directions and working with the different functions, and saw no references to that option….but it could be possible. If I find anything out, I will update.
@@julieblackman4969 I just checked the user manual for both dryers and yeah, the Dyson is the only one with the extra cool setting. On all other aspects though, they're pretty comparable, and I think the Shark wins overall except for this feature. Especially considering how many people own and love the Dyson and don't even know about the cool setting, they're still very comparable dryers.
I already own the dyson dryer for years and love it for my curly hair. I also have the comb attachment to add volume on top and the smoothing attachment. It prob doesn’t make sense for me to have both.

Well I think I am sold on the Shark now. I was going to ask for a refurbished Dyson for Christmas as 400 dollars is just so expensive. But at half the price with a better diffuser the Shark seems like a no brainer. If you have frizz did you did one helped tame it more?
I can tell you that I own both and have dried one half with one and one half with the other. I noticed a clear difference in my hair in favor of the Shark diffuser over the Dyson diffuser. My friends also agreed.
I recently purchased the Dyson and so far have only gotten frizzy results. I’m so confused. The drying time is definitely halved, but my waves are stretched out, frizzy, and there’s no root lift. Idgi 😭

Also if you log into best buy you can buy the dryer for $183 and then I was able to buy the diffuser attachment separately from Walmart. All together still cheaper than anything else I’ve seen, plus I also wanted the brush attachment.

I want to get the shark but will multiple one
I bought the Shark excitedly and then found that it felt WAY hotter than my old Conair ionic hair dryer on the low (or any) setting. I specifically bought the Shark over the Dyson because I’d heard people say the Dyson was so hot even on the lowest setting, so I was very disappointed in how hot the Shark felt to me. I used a thermometer to compare the temps on my old Conair and the Shark and sure enough the lowest setting on the Shark was very close to the highest setting on my old Conair (152F vs 156F). I don’t think anyone would recommend diffusing curly hair on the highest heat setting on any regular dryer but that seems to be what is happening while using the lowest heat setting on the Shark. This is really confusing to me? Any insights into this? How does something that hot not damage hair, especially if it feels like it’s burning my scalp? Do you have a non-Dyson hair dryer you can compare the temp to? I’m wondering if my Shark is defectively hot?
@princessbea1000 oh my goodness! Please do update us on if the new one they send doesn’t burn! I’ve heard a few complain about this so I’m worried that it’s just how it is actually designed. I honestly HOPE I just have a defective one because I really want it to work out (kinda hate my old hair dryer because it takes FOREVER to dry, but the Shark isn’t worth burning my scalp/damaging my hair!) They sent me TWO new ones when I told them how hot the lowest setting is and both new ones are equally as hot (measuring actual temps). I don’t understand why no one is talking about this because no one would say to dry curly hair on the highest heat setting on your regular hair dryer but that’s exactly what you are doing on the “low” temp on this hair dryer. Of course those high temps will dry hair faster! No mystery or incredible technology there!
@@surrendertoflow78 I've been having this problem too! I thought maybe I just had an overly sensitive scalp because even the lowest setting hurts after 10 seconds. I have to use the cool shot basically the whole time. Idk if it's even worth asking them to send me a new one. My dry time with shark is not faster than with my old deva hair dryer.
@@baddiesinbowties6358 Definitely don’t bother getting them to send you a new one. They sent me two new ones and they all were the same so it’s just how they are! BUT I have found a hair dryer that I LOVE! It is unbelievably customizable as far as heat setting and airflow (and has a digital read out so you can see the temp). If I want to pixie diffuse I can truly set it on very gentle heat and air flow. It’s low radiation. It uses far infrared heat on all settings. And it has an ion generator you can toggle on and off. And it even has a locking cool shot button! And (I don’t need the feature but it’s cool), it’s even dual voltage for traveling abroad. It’s seriously my holy grail hair dryer! But I do highly recommend the FHI dryer that I ended up getting (described in my previous comment above). Sometimes it goes on sale for less than 200. I highly recommend that over the Shark!

No it doesn't. The orchid is not as wide it's much narrower.
