I so wish that you had a shop here in the united states. Been following you for a while and in that time I've upgraded from a Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart to a 2014 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X GSR. Just seeing your video here of how your work has held up over the years would be all the more reason for me to let you do the upgrading to my car. Plus I know you own one buy watching your videos so you can always say that you would put a mod on my car that you wouldn't be willing to put on your own ;)
thanks
Great video full of useful information. Fascinating to see how well all the parts have survived after all these years. Thanks mate =)
thanks
Still got it??
I was Jimmyg on the MRT forum back in the day before RN sadly ended its run. Still got my MRT performance enhanced sticker on the back of my 1995 WRX. Subaru for life. Great trip down memory lane. :)
Love these gc8 videos, thanks so much!
i wish they had a shop in Southern California
I love these videos about individually tuned cars.
“Obviously these cars are not popular anymore", and it became the most expensive version wrx/sti. its not popular anymore because they are too expensive and too less, but we have to admit it still the best version of subaru wrx/sti.
u are the best at sharing info on subaru engines etc love it. wish i knew as much as u so i can build mine as efficient n effective
Happy new years Brett.
thanks
Awesome video. That intercooler piping is art!
Great video!
The Owner has spend some good money on it! Nice Car!
From what I see it's not a common thing to do, to change the steering wheel.
In Portugal it's quite common for ppl to adapt the newage 3 arm Sti steering wheel.
Great informative vid
Great stuff!
Subaru lo mejor
awesome video
Do you have a site that I can see more photos from this car?
I'm going to buy a same of this one and I will buy these BBS too
Is it worth doing the extractors on a gc8 ej ? i was just watching project billet where you said the stock setup is actually half decent , just wondering if that still applys to this vintage subi
Is the offset coil for my99 the same as jdm, usdm, edm, as the audm? Im just trying to gather info for a chart with coil/ecu specifics. So everyone can decipher what the engine came from at a glance. Thanks!
It would be heaps interesting to know how many miles it has covered since the mods and what BHP it is. Love the vids mate.
What colour code is that Impreza thinking of getting mine done that colour.
This didnt really have anything to do with its long term reliability. It was just a rundown of all the work that was done and you even stated yourself that its spent most of its life in storage. So how is that a testiment to long term reliability?
Maybe he was telling you not to expect reliability from a modified WRX as this one has spent more time in a garage than on the road.
JackstandJohnny ....I thought this as well. He never stated what to look for, nor did he state how to maintain. sitting in storage is not driving the car. Of course it still has the original engine. Car has sat for many years! He should have stated why the mods were done. The reasons to swap factory parts for aftermarket. Only thing he remotely said like that was the heater tank. reason replaced was because the factory plastic leak.
any chance the owner might be interested in selling it
Question I have a 2006 Impreza WRX and was wondering if I can use a o2 sensor from the local parts place or I need the genuine Subaru one
Find out who made the original (probably Denso) and buy their brand. It will be the same as OEM but a lot cheaper because it doesn't say subaru.
Unfortunately Subaru's are fussy when it comes to 02 sesors. Most cars you can get away with a generic sensor but subaru's really do rely on OEM sensors.
Help me please to find this mirrors!!
Quero dejar asi el mio
i need that mrt sway bar!!
How much power is this gc8 putting down?
Do you have any recommendations for a front mount on SF5 Foresters? Been trying to find a good one but its not proving too easy.
Love the BBS wheels, it may be 2017 but they never go out of style, do you know what size and offset those ones are please?
I would love to buy one of them wings
Cameron what's stopping you lol
Same here
Can I change out my 98 wrx ecu for a 99 wrx ECU so I can tune it?
Sadly no - lots of things on the car are different enough that it wouldn't be able to run the car.
@@MRTPerformanceAustralia thanks for the reply. Will my 98 wrx be fine with a vf34 turbo a process west tmic and 3" downpipe and exhaust untuned?
@@alenhawk5768 I would want to run it up on the dyno and be sure, but most likely if the boost was set it would be 'alright'.
i have a my99 but my coil pack is on the center not to the side why is that
e.g. john it's a early release engine. check you manufacturer date on car. later model 99's had coil pack on side. 98' and early release 99's were center. I know exactly what your talking about. I've seen this personally or I wouldn't know myself. 👍99's were still sold in late 98, car manufacturers have done this always.
Do you still sell the downpipe?
No idea why people like the guys at MRT would claim you can't tune anything earlier than MY99's when people can flash tune 97/98's with no issue these days if they actually know what real tuning is
I don't think he meant that it wasn't possible, just that ECUtek doesn't recommend it. Romraider/OpenECU are popular choices for DIY'ers though I doubt a shop would ever use those programs due to lack of support.
Flash tuning is not real tuning dumbo.
97&98 ESL is not real full tune system.
