No. They have a belt driven traditional style pump. Search for e87 bleed process to see how that is done. If pump has failed engine will rapidly overheat
thanks for video.now have a question when i do the steps and its gonna spray water out should i stay and wait till it stops the spraying? or can i close the cap.and after can i drive the car normaly.thank you
You don't have to take off the cap at all, just take it of to see if water pump even works, if it does it will bleed water through little hose (you can't tell it without taking cap off ofcourse).
You do need to remove the cap or at least loosen the bleed screw...this "bleeding" process is similar to bleeding brakes...you do it to remove air out of the system, and the air needs to escape somehow...and this process should be done after any coolant system part replacement that allows air in; like hoses, tank, etc.
in my case, the mechanic put the pump on and started it via the computer, it walked for a few minutes and then it cannot be started, is it possible that it broke down? ps. he did not unscrew the cap from the water tank, he did not use the method by pressing the gas pedal ... was it a mistake?
Don’t need to test. You understand quite fast that the pump is dead: the fan runs at max speed as soon as you start the engine, even when cold. Why testing when your engine is runing well ?
Moh Vlogs the diesels don't have electric pumps for example. you just start the car and open the expansion tank and you should see a little stream going into it like in the video. Open slowly if the engine is hot...
