One thing I learned with casting metal, try to not make 90° angles in castings. Add a few degrees to the walls and the mold will pop the part right out.
Hard work but in the end the result has been incredible and it is clear that you have very good knowledge of how to treat carbon fiber and the material you have needed has been 10. Hopefully one day I will know how to do what you have done. great job man!
Oh boy, i've been there as well! Kudos to your persistence. Its hard. I know it is. But you did it - exceptionally well! Its done now, but my two cents for your project would have been: start with a positive mold. Less tricky with complex corners such as yours. Draft angles! Can't say for sure, but it looks like you held back on those a bit? Use a specialized filler or prime coat to get rid of layer lines and make sanding MUCH easier + you can achieve a perfect finish straight from the mold. Get (make) a vacuum pump. You can easily build one from a compressor off an old refrigerator or AC unit in a day or two - and comes in very cheap (80-100 bucks max.)
This is an epic steering wheel i would love to see it in my car (I don't think i could afford it) you should definitely sold this customized steering wheels for cars this is E P I C
Great project! My humble experience shows that any project can have some flaws. And it's great if you can still make great detail even it has some problems first. And your work with 3d model and electrics is impressive as always!)
Hi, Bro! Thank you for the comment. Actually, I've made 4-5 molds. so, I had failed a lot. That was so hard works. Recently, I am loving 3D design, and electronic works. My major was computer programming in University. I hope to develop electronic modules and carbon fiber parts for car. Thanks for the good comment always. Thank you bro.
Not really a "how too" but watched it all nevertheless. By the when fanatec make a wheel that works on both sim and irl they charge a limb per wheel 😅 Do you make these for us to buy?
Hey Bro do you know what OHMS to use to delete the Steering SRS? im having hardtime getting the correct ohms. Also do you know which wire to plug it on? there are 6 wires on the airbag and not sure which one. thanks in advance.
Hello friend In positive molds, carbon fiber is laminated on top of the mold, so carbon fiber parts larger than the size of the molds are completed. The negative mold will have the same shape as the designed model.
This man will one day build a complete M4 shell in his office and I'm here for it. Craftsmanship 101%🔥
Na, it would never fit in his oven.
I freaking love this channel, no stupid intro, no story of your life about this and that, just get to work and get it done!

Good job editing
Salut ! Content de revoir une vidéo !!
C'est quali de ouff
Amazing work as always!
This is just INSANE !!
I have been waiting to do this to my car for months and could not figure out how you get quick release paddle shifters… this is amazing. Thank you.
Bravo !!! From France

awesome work, hope you're wearing a proper filteration mask, CF is dangerous when in dust form from sanding
Loved watching this and amazing work, though seeing you cut it with the dremel indoors without sleeves on... I'm getting itchy already
Great video! Can’t wait for the next one! Keep it up!
Ohhh no way I’ve been waiting for this one!!!
Everything you did make me feel its so easily
Amazing as usual! Came out perfect!
yes sir 🙌🏻
for anyone trying something like this, use a SEALING facemask when sanding carbon fiber, the dust it creates is extremely bad for your lungs.
Cool video bro. I like your style man 😁
Very nice work! Maybe I'll try prepreg one day.
Wow!!!! Absolutely awesome. Thank you 🙏
Good evening! How long you bake prepreg and what temperature?
I lmao at the beaver part 🤣 id be furious
you can try printing the mold verticaly so the carbon fiber comes get off more easily
Superb Craftsmanship
amazing work.
I'm confused, how are you using the Krontec QR hub with the fanatec wheel? Is there an adaptor on the market or did you make it yourself?
Nice work
Damn. Respect bro for your hardwork!!!
Are you adding a draft angle to help in releasing the mold?
Hi friend.
I applied the fillet to the new mold and it helped a lot with the release as well as the shaping of the fibers.
consider using ASA plastic, and then apply acetone vapor smoothing technique to make surfaces smooth.
Love your videos, inspiring :)
Nice work!
Very nice work 🥶💧💧💧💧💧
Oppa is back 😳
Very impressive!
Where can I buy that LED PCB circuit that you are soldering ? It appears 14:46. Thanks !
Not really a "how too" but watched it all nevertheless.
By the when fanatec make a wheel that works on both sim and irl they charge a limb per wheel 😅
Do you make these for us to buy?
Do more: carbon TV, carbon chair, carbon sofa) Nice video)
It very vey very cool..
Love it definitely gonna be my guide for my first composites project

amazingggggg all are made by ingenius incredible !!!!
I love the fact he has what looks like a fanatec QR2 two years before release 😂
Excellent
have you used petg to make the molds? works great, petg is non-stick
This is great! but why not make a male profile mold and then layer the CF over it?
Hello friend
In positive molds, carbon fiber is laminated on top of the mold, so carbon fiber parts larger than the size of the molds are completed.
The negative mold will have the same shape as the designed model.
Can I love your videos

this. was. amazing.
Superbe réalisation !
That is a cool steering wheel indeed
wich Krontec quick release shaft do you attached to the base?
Respect man!
Bro you are one fawking talented guy... and i want that wheel LOL
Incredible work! Love the attention to detail with the stitching too! 😂
What is that QR you're using? It looks great!
Great project! Where did you buy those led rings? What is the name of that product?
Hahaha your video is so cool..
How many times can you reuse the mould?
Really amazing. You are awesome
bravo!
Was the prepreg stored in a freezer? How was the roll really shipped?
Hello friend
Prepreg carbon fiber is now stored in the freezer.
It is shipped in a box.
It can be stored for about 1 month at room temperature.
Just like DTM steering wheel :) i like it so much
Can you make a carbon fiber hood/bonet video?
Genius
would you make another carbon cover since you have the mould. would love to buy one!
Did you buy a $1500 wheel for parts? Am I missing something?
What software did you use to create the template for the mold?
Enabling ironing with a 25% flow would have given you flat top surfaces. This would just leave the vertical faces needing sanding.
why was the resin and hardener blurred out?
