Putrescence Cleaver Hits Like a Colossal Weapon | Narrated Thought Duels - Elden Ring

- The Putrescence Cleaver has a ton of AR since its physical damage scales with both Arcane and Strength. In fact, it has more AR than most Colossal Weapons, while having the speed of a Greataxe. The only big downside is its range, which is terrible.

Hope you get better Scott. Man who created the most fun Albinauric sniper build shall not suffer. At all.
Scott is the Empyrean offspring of real life Merika, so he's stuck with the Scott Rot.
Lol didn't read colossal in title so thought it was 'putrescense cleaver hits like a weapon'
It does indeed
Lmao
controversial statement
No way
One of the weapons of all time
Worlds best series ever returns
Some on Scott, that thing is definitely at least average length. If anything it has to be above average… um, according to my friend.
Fr that is a respectable size for a great axe. Plus having a curve doesn’t hurt anything some people like that
It feels so cozy getting narrated thought duels again, i love this series
new poise values are 56 for the first hit of multihit wepaons 88 for the second R1 of most smaller weapons 89 for offstoc and 115 for 2h thrusting swords
2:49 He used the short spear charged r2, which stuns all poise and he hit you before your HA started
Twinblades do nothing.
5 seconds later...
BLACK FLAME TORNADOOOO ISNT A WEAPON AHHH
@@ScottJund I absolutely agree with you but that timing couldn't have been funnier
Looks like Scott hasn't faced the funny Godskin moveset yet. Those running R2s are nasty even without status.
@@ScottJundtwinblades are meta btw, they are extremely annoying to fight against without ha and most weapons with ha are not very good (except for something like great spear in two hands)
scott souls pvp videos are so nostalgic, i missed this content
The guy with a pike switched to short spear, not swift spear.
Fun Fact:
Swift spear 1st and 2nd r1s are reused from short spear r2s.
I've been using this weapon in duels myself, if you use the weapon art you can actually roll immediately after using it but if you don't then it forces you to wait through the recovery
Scott jund
This is the weapon I ended up settling on in my first runthrough of the dlc. For the fact that it let's me cosplay as the Orphan of Kos
I don't know if it gets mentioned because I'm only 12 minutes into the video so far, but the backstep R1 is unique and isn't the same as the running R1
All back stepping attacks are in this game
Always love myself some narrated thought duels. Thanks Scott.
ngl i wish its weapon art was the throw move. either that or make its strong attack the throw while its weapon art remains the same
I'm really surprised it isn't, given how many weapons in the DLC can be thrown. Like why can you throw Messmer's spear but not this?
Didn't think I'd see Scott beat someone up with a mezzaluna made of bones, but here we are.
Well this just brings me back to the ds3 days so much nostalgia and still amazing :)
Ah 30mins of narrated duels. Yes please!
This is the weapon I used to kill the final boss, even though I was hitting around 3000 ar he was not caring 💀
3000 ar? How?
fuckin rad video, i always love these formats
also you ran across some pretty cool builds from people, not even a single Blind Spot in sight. life could be a dream
I really enjoy these types of vids. Definitely looking forward to ones in the future :)
Thoughts on Dane's Footwork, Scott? I took Dryleaf Arts through most of the DLC, but most of the time it felt pretty underwhelming aside from the jumping r2, and I swapped off of it for all remembrance bosses but Bayle and Messmer. Dane's Footwork has ended up feeling about the same, but I have been liking it in PvP. Just find it a little hard to deal with the abysmal range outside of backstep r1, but latency makes backstepping feel pretty odd. Palm Blast is in general pretty hilarious, regardless. Cheers, man, happy to be seeing narrated thought duels in my feed again
Palm blast is insane
@@SoI_Badguy it's so fun, infinite poise for no reason is just goofy
@@smokerthewhitehits like a truck too
The Shattered Stone talisman buffs all the kick attacks for Dane's Footwork, that might help on the damage for it
@@MaeIsOkay HUGE BRAIN thank you for the tip 🫡
Great showcase, really love your commentary and gameplay. Looking forward to more of these.
2:40 That's the Short Spear. The Swift Spear basically got the Short Spear charged R2 moveset on the light attacks.
Why does he keep backstepping, he was playing like an NPC
@@Tenfold-mm8ge because the fine feather tali gives him i-frames, so he can spam that garbage forever
This is definitely a one of the BEST looking weapons in DLC!
Really? I think it looks way too goofy.
@@ShikiRyougi05 It might but doesn't look like a regular weapon which gives it that unique look especially 2-handed! Most weapons in DLC just looks like a regular weapon.
Looks like the orphan of kos placenta
tell me why this weapon doesn’t have the guillotine r2
Good question
It returns!
I was so excited when I saw you were doing this weapon! I gravitated towards this and the meteoric ore gs on my playthrough. I like extending the ash of war randomly sometimes when players think they can get in a hit after missing. It is stupid but catches people off guard at times!
missed this series
Narrated thought duels is the reason why i started watching you, and I'm extactic every time it returns.
Twinblades feels so satisfying to pull off in PVP, they can pressure so well once the opponent starts panic rolling.
The main issue with it for PVP is that high poise and hyper armour shits on most of its moveset so it does require patience to use instead of trying to rush and then get a CGS to the face.
This feels like 2016 all over again
Not only did that guy override Black Flame's Protection with Flame, Grant me Strength, but they also nerfed BFP in PvP so it gives the same absorption as a BOILED CRAB
If only you was able to throw that weapon like boss do...
Missed opportunity to have that as an R2
Narrated thought duels and invasions. Ahh... beautiful.
That lowkey looks super fun for PVE. I love strength weapons and that has frostbite buildup, solid damage and is faster than other good strength weapons. Might have to give that a try
I guess strength players use the stupid flower KEKW
@@chaosinfernoid9008 damn read my mind cause I did end up getting that lmao
Much respect to Sitting Bear, not too often I see single Spear and not just abusing running attacks.
Love these videos thank you.
Thank you for that narrations in duel thoughts! Super good? Yes!
It's funny how you got typecast as a tryhard in DS3 even though you've been doing meme shit in all the souls games. I still re-watch Forgetful Fred and CoolWarrior61 every now and again
This series started my love for ER PvP :D
I'm glad to see it returned!
I use sacrificial knife and those short curved axes actually have a hitbox behind you at the beginning half of that particular attack animation that's really noticeable when you aim punch.
THE SECRET SCOTT WHAT IS IT, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Scott when you mention the hitbox at your back while swinging, it actually does have a (relatively inconsistent) hitbox from behind. It seems almost frame perfect but I've hit a lot of enemies with it on accident when fighting a group and trying to poise through hits. Not super useful in PvP, though still funny for some shenanigans when you do manage to hit it.
Cheers!
Also get well!
Awesome Vid!
Thank You very much for Your Work! Greetings from Germany
swift spear + offhand whip was something I was using, it deals a surprising amount of damage with its R1 combo but its not very good overall. I found myself mostly just using the whip.
How about Deadly Poison Whip GIGACHAD
You can roll out of the flipping animation after the AoW
I shall put in a request to use the Rellana's Twin Blades. Things are pretty good in PvE, but i havent really messed with pvp in this game so no idea how they'd do.
Terribly, light greatswords are super underpowered r
I don't care enough to dive into the math but iirc Gelmir staff becomes your best primary catalyst in a very specific int/faith bracket.
the putrescence cleaver DOES hit behind you, they just have to be moving into you which is why it didn't work when you tried it
Been using this weapon for the last few days, fuckin rules.
what ive found is weapons that out reach it can easily be blocked into the skill
This wep is so much better in invasions, the skill can be a lot more useful in a chaotic environment like that
I really wish it was not curved as much, then it would be more like Yorm's machete.
Hmm interesting.. I play with a lot of consumable use in the arena so this might fit really well on a build
I could use it as a meme swap i love how guillotine looks, reminds me of harald cgs, but def not as a main weapon.
I think this weapon just needs a fast off-hand weapon. Maybe something like a rapier or a dagger
Edit: that jump UGS counter is neat. Would that be viable in more crowded scenarios? Like invasions?
Twinblades can deliver some nasty damage but a whole setup is needed. Multiple hits, best with status, need to not get hit or use endure and so on. Pain in the arse to play, but can really turn an invasion around in 1 combo.
It only works against mashers, once they know you're going to jump they can sprint R2 which bonks you out of the air.
@@anitaremenarova6662 ah bugger not good for invasions then since there are attack coming from all the angles
Not Scott realizing 27 minutes into the video he can roll out of the animation before it ends
I miss the Black Knight Great Axe moveset so bad... At least the One Handed r1s...
I paired it with an off hand axe worked well
then again anything with an off hand axe works well
On the second duel when the spear stunned you it's because it was the second heavy (you can tell cuz its two hits in one)
Please do more PvP videos, some of the most interesting Elden Ring videos imo
Sure you CAN cancel the lil flip animation but it's so weird you've gotta style on them
Ah, the amount of peace NTDs give me. Get well soon scoot o/
Can you use the carthus curved sword
Do backhand blades do more bleed than they're supposed to? Feels like the powerstance status nerf doesn't apply to them
Wouldn't surprise me since most of the DLC weapons have the pre patched poise damage from the very first patch.
All dlc weapons are bypassing the powerstance status, jumping & and basline attack damge nerfs that have been put out via updates.
Its extremely unfortunate
Instead of that chicken wing blood fiend arm, From should have made this a frost weapon that leaves putrescence blue flame with charged heavy.
14:35 let em cook
You should try dual serpent flails. Let me know what you think.
I’m just obsessed with that l2 🤤
There's so many weapons I need to try Q~Q
88 poise if you are in the arena if you can’t get that just wear what looks cool.
This is pretty much what I gathered and I’m not trying to look like a poise monster.
Except these are outdated numbers, you'll need more now.
It is good in invasions!
Make a greatsword of damnation invasion build. At lv 200 (can go a little lower probs) i have gotten a way to consistently one shot hosts and phantoms with 2 buff inputs
Also the hitbox for the grab us funny
Lightroll shits on every weapon in the game, you don't need as big of a latency to be impossible to rollcatch. In ladder this shit is banned for a very good reason
Black flame is completely dead btw. It’s the same defense as crab now fyi
Should've been at least 20% From yet again nerfing things into uselessness.
@@anitaremenarova6662 yep. Still good in pve but beyond pointless in PvP now
I'm in New Games Plus 12. Does this increase the damage enemies do to me or does it reduce the damage I do to them in the DLC? Because bosses and monsters kill me in one or two hits
Enemies have more health and damage in ng+ increasing until ng+7, you should probably make a new character
love ur elden content, quit after you quit, ur back im back (tried DBD cause of you and it was a experience, that was cool until I tried playing solo)
Putrescent L2 roll catches off of j.R1
it doesnt tho, i tried several times even in this video
most of it's moves are like 1 frame off from roll catching unless you can somehow get the last frames of the attacks to land. r1 2 and r2 seems like they might be the options (r2 one handed is definitely a panic roll catch.) i was excited when i realized it's classified as a 'fast wa' so i thought it would be perfect for hit confirmed roll catches 😫
@@ScottJundthe people you tried it on were light rolling.
Waiter! Waiter! More scott jund elden ring videos please!
Use one in each hand
why do you never quick swap? Thrusting sword running r2 into swap to cleaver ashe is perfect for roll catching
Is 171 the new dueling meta lvl?
love u scott - Honey
That sleep crossbow is disgusting. Invading and trying to fight 2v1 when there's also a crossbow that almost instantly inflicts sleep on my ass is just not possible. Got teabagged for retreating when there's literally nothing else I could have done
Simply equip the new focus talisman, it's busted.
Smithscript Axe on Lightning or Fire has a little bit less and it's 10 times faster
Is that still the case after the nerf?
Is it cheatengine or do you really just have like 999 crafting mats
Everyone In pvp cheats in farmable stuff you can legitimately get in game
They actually added a feature to arena specifically where all your consumables get refunded at the end of a match, so you don't have to keep re-making them.
arena refunds all consumables after each fight
@@ScottJund oh nice, never knew that was a thing, most of my pvp was before the arena was added
It's obviously cheat engine they really should have added am all crafting items bell bearing for completing a side quest or just beating the dlc farming for some of these items is a slog
171 duels lmao. I've always been out of the loop with Elden Ring pvp in particular, did the community never decide on a meta level or something? I remember people arguing A LOT when the game came out, just asking
I mean some people have very strong opinions on what meta level should be. Me personally don’t really care and will just make characters at whatever level I want, I usually don’t go past 200. But the majority agreed on 125. Lots of people like lvl 200. I mean really it’s whatever you enjoy playing at most!
yeah im not super serious about the game enough anymore to make a new character and specifically underlevel myself for the DLC so i just leveled to whatever the fuck and hit record
@@ScottJund gotcha lol
Do you play on ps5 or PC?
PS5
10:56😞
Kinda lame this weapon doesn’t stun fire knights like colossal.
L2 is decent as an anti air
Spear in the beginning was just the short spear from base game, the R2 has a multihit.
Its better when you talk while actually playing rather than talking over gameplay.
How do you have that many hefty rot pots?
Farming them must have taken eons.
Or do they reset after every duel?
Yes, it's a new change that consumables reset after each arena battle.
so is there no longer an ideal pvp level? I've been running through the dlc at 135 refusing to level further lol.
I did 125 and have constant duels and invasions
I think all PvP brackets are pretty active right now since the dlc came out
There's only one for duels at 120-125. For invasions, it's whatever level gets you the most activity.
Might as well go to 138 at that point, it'll allow you to match up with 150 players as well
Hey Scott, lvl 171 i see.
Do you think with the DLC rhe meta level will shift to higher numbers? 180 maybe to catch 160 and 200 people?
