- This is the all-new 2018 Land Rover Discovery and it weighs 450kg less than its predecessor. A modern design replaces a boxy shape to mark the next generation of SUV. Powered by a 3.0 litre V6 diesel engine, this TD6 model produces 258hp and 600Nm of torque. Land Rover claim 39 MPG combined.
Seating seven in comfort, our 2018 Land Rover Discovery HSE Luxury came with plenty of equipment including; InControl touchscreen infotainment display, rear mounted screens, heated seats for all occupants, and wifi. Boot space with 7 seats in place is 258 litres, 5 seats 629 litres, or 2,406 litres with all folded flat.
The new Discovery 5 is no less capable than its predecessor off road. Terrain Response 2 copes with all surfaces and this 4x4 has a wading depth of 900mm.
Starting from £43,495 the 2018 Land Rover Discovery is an impressive machine.
Land Rover have nailed it. This car will cover all eventualities. There may be mixed views on the looks of the car, but they will sell by the shedload.
The back definitely grows on you- my family getting our new one in 3 days!! After looking at it a lot the back now looks very nice and I ABSOLUTELY love this car!! Soooo excited!!
Will be lighter and all....but I see the GLS and Amazon taking the 7 seater space torch here..a mettle the Disco 4 held proudly to their faces.

landrover have a strong heritage of consistently being the most unreliable brand in the UK. landrover will get you up a mountain but not back.
The interior is lovely but the exterior is just the discovery 4 sport and not as rugged as I want from my discovery. Bring the old design back!
I love the old land rovers, they were hardcore offroaders that time, they can put snorkel, bullbars, big tires and everything, now all i see is technology and luxury
I wish Land Rover would purchase their engines and drivetrains from Lexus. I have a GX460. I love the Land Rover's interior, stance and badge, but after having a new 2002 Discovery, I would never own one out of warranty. If it had a Lexus engine and drivetrain, I would pay more for the Land Rover.

have they got rust prevention coating on ??.. knew a lot of people who have had this car (older model 2015 ) and was rotten through underneath
They're made of aluminium so they don't rust. Even the Disco 3/4 had an aluminium body on a steel chassis, but have never heard any reports of rust being an issue.
+mike clarke Much more aluminium used in this car so rust shouldn't be much of an issue. I'm sure they looked at the problems with the old car whilst working on this model.
AH!! but aluminium can go brittle of not treated especially with winter salt ?
Will not get one until they sort that tailgate out.

Doesn't anyone change tires anymore? Spare wheel would be handy where I live. Does it have one or do you get a compressor and sealant kit? Good luck with that.
I believe there is a spare bolted to the underside.

Love the car but pretty disappointed that they call it "Land Rover" Discovery when it looks more like a "Rang Rover"...
That's just my opinion and thought.

You're probably not the target market for the Disco. A cayenne has zero off-road capability, the Disco has it by the bucket-load. If you don't need to go off-road then look elsewhere.

Beautiful 4wd..shame about reliability..I’ll buy a Land Cruiser or a Y62 Patrol first..only for reliability before I’d buy a LR
I drive a discovery Land Rover and the biggest thing that is disappointing is the hesitation it gives me off the line meaning when I am stopped and I want to proceed across the highway to make a turn to begin my journey when I accelerate there is an extreme hesitation before the gas actually kicks in and throws off the timing of your driving experience. It is urgent to the safety of a driver to be able to have the car accelerate when you are pushing the gas pedal and not hesitate which could get you into an accident. The push up button to shift your gears is disgusting and completely takes away from the pleasure of driving. The tiny glove compartment barely fits more than a book and a pair of gloves and the fishnet on the back of the seat hardly allows any storage. The so-called leather seating is not sturdy and you feel uncomfortable to touch it or put anything on it because it becomes discolored at the drop of a hat. It also is easily identified as cheap leather. The console is also way too small. And for me a vehicle that cost this much should not be so filled with plastic. And did you know that it does not have a CD player which most people do have Bluetooth but there are still some of us with many CDs that would be great to hear on your travels. Another thing that will drive anyone crazy is that the car has a feature that turns the car off every time you stop and then restarts the car when you begin which I have to turn off every time I get in the car. I find this also was safety hazard and his much as if a car behind you is speeding towards you and you need to get out of the way you now have to wait those moments for the car to restart where if that was not happening you should be able to accelerate and get out of harms way.
i am torn between skoda yeti and ssangyong tivoli for the exterior looks.
hunyango It looks better in the metal than in pictures. At first I was apprehensive, but it has really grown on me.
