Bro I’m having a problem with my alternator I guess. I have a 320amp mechman alt and a xs power 3400 battery and the big 3… and now my alternator not charging the battery and the battery light is on and I don’t know what to do! And I’m running 0 gauge
So I did everything like you but my question is,does it effect my 2nd battery that’s grounded in the back .cause my 2nd battery is just grounded to the frame or do I got to run the ground from that battery through the loop as well
Every battery is charged by the alternator even if it was in the back of a school bus. That is a good question though if it should go through the ground loop also.
My 2015 Silverado the battery is closer to the alternator I feel like I should still fuse the power wire but idk? I'm guessing 300 or 350 amp anl fuse will be enough for 370 amp alternator?
I did the same upgrade on my 2014 silverado I added a 240amp Mechman alternator and added the positive and negative 0 gauge I was able to run the negative through the regulator ring. Im running a xs power d4800 battery but only problem my does is what you said when you turn on the car voltage goes up to 15 volts but the drops to normal after a few seconds or a minute but when that happens my radio and my power windows stop working does that happen to your car also?
@JUNIORC01 I have a 2018 Chevy Impala and the problem I'm having is I get a "Battery Save Active " alert from my dashboard infotainment center. When I removed the extra ground cable this actually went away. Don't know why.
@@BudgetBassHead thanks for the info. Yeah i usually check the forums on the internet for people that have the same car as me. Most of the time you can find out how to fix it because its probably a common problem.
I have 07 tahoe with dual battery setup stock battery from rural king and secondary battery a Reikken SC4800 i have stock alternator . would 240 amp mechman alternator with a dual xs power D3400 batteries be sufficient enough to run a Rockford Fosgate T1000-4AD and Rockford T2500BDCP on four Rockford T1 10s?
I would call Mechman to be sure. I called before i bought mine and they were very helpful. They want you to get the rignt alternator. I would personally go with the 370 mechman alt. That should be enough.
He has a 2000 amp pushing a 18 zvx skar and the gauge is dropping real low and the amp is getting very hot and we figured the stock alternator isn't keeping up
Yeah same here. I have a rp1500 and a 500 skar 4 channel for the mids and highs. My voltage was dropping really low when i turned on the AC and the electric fans were running in the summer. So i decided to upgrade the alternator. I also later upgraded to a xs power starting battery. Noticed a big difference in sound quality and amps dont get as hot
@@daddyrooster88 I was wondering if you have a link to the battery you bought or if you have the numbers on the side of it so I can get him the right one and he ordered the 250 mechman today and I appreciate your time

Great video man and my son is about to order the same alternator and I see you ran 0 gauge wire from alternator to battery but did you keep the oem wire from the alternator that runs over to that fuse box by the battery
The mechman alternator comes with a smaller pulley which means if you tried to use the stick belt the alternator was basically not working. Need a shorter belt
Not an expert on this . I have 2k watts and i did a big 3 upgrade, a mechman 250 alternator and xspower agm battery. It works for me voltage around 14.5 most of the time.
I would do the big 3 & mechman. Bigger is always better that way ur not throwing money away upgrading again down the line. Plus you wanna have some extra juice to keep the truck running too.
07 and up . Follow your ground wires if they go through a plastic ring then you have the voltage sensor to help regulate the voltage. If you dont see one then your good!
@@juanvillanueva9399its normal for the voltage to start high but then the sensor lowers it if it thinks you dont need that much voltage and its trying to save your fuel economy.

what size fuse Do I need for the 370 amp alt in a 2002 sierra from the alternator to the battery ?
