Back in 1963 at 16 years old I was locked up in that thing for 3 days. It was located in the back part of the firehouse in Siloam Springs, AR. I had been pick up for public intoxication. I sat there for 2 days before I had enough nerve to call my family to come get me out. Good memories. I would have bought it if I had kown it was up for auction. Thanks for posting this...
That Jail is so cool, one could roast to death or turn into an human ice cube in the frostie months, the Chevy cabover is so cool, I had a 1950 Diamond T cabover, I could get 50 mph out of it down hill with a tail wind, it had a nice hardwood grain box, I sold it and the guy totaled it out, well that was 30 years ago, I love you're videos Mr Goodplyers, Thank You
my daddy was a car salesman all of his life. in 64 he sold my uncle a new 64 impala ss, it was black with turquoise interior. then in the late 60s he had several used car lots. i grew up working on cars. i became a professional transmission rebuilder, retired after 45 years. my favorite is the 1962 impala ss,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
One guys trash is another guys treasure!! Good luck with the restoration! Old girlfriends granpa owned a farm and i was wandering like you were and came across an early 60s chevy impala 2 door sitting in his barn!! Always liked those cars, wondered what happened to the car and the ex girlfriend!!
I'm always amazed at the cars that people are willing to bring back from the dead. Never would have thought they had the value that they do - I get an education from Tim every time I watch this channel. Brilliant
I never miss a Mr. GP video and couldn't wait to watch this one right away about my favorite car. Really nice score for you! Yours seems to be a mystery. The trim tag doesn't have a normal assembly plant code, assembly date or accessory codes. Not sure how to decode it. It was very rare to have a column shift SS but they did make a few. The car would have come with an SS console but without a place for a shifter. Yours has 327 fender flags. With that sweet posi, your price is fair for sure. Wish I was younger and had a place for a third one. Keep up the good work and fun videos.
The '64 Impala SS I had in high school was burgundy, red interior, with a 327 & factory Muncie 4speed. The paint had some oxidation, but the interior was pristine. At the time it had about 100,000 miles and needed some engine work as it was burning some oil. It ran great tho - the SBC was a great engine. With dual exhaust and glass packs, it sounded great. After graduation I sold the car to a friend who was a year behind me. He promptly wrecked it, but it was repaired and the paint was better than when I owned it. I never knew what became of it. Sure would love to have it now!
Great save and a pretty good deal for someone. Glad you found that emblem. Being a shut down safari park part of me was hoping a long forgotten lion might spring out of the bushes… 😂
Its a cool SS Impala. It looks better with those bumper guards. Its a interesting project. We certainly seen worce being fully restored. I used to like convertables, but since the summers have become way too hot, I prefer the hardtops. That International pickup truck is very cool truck.
Hi there, I enjoyed your video, thanks. I recognized the three stripe whitewall tire and thought I’d let you know what it is….It’s a General Dual 90, from the Sixties. In my youth, I had a ‘53 Chevy 2 door hardtop with a full set of them on it.
You know it is really sad to see those beautiful cars sitting there resting away😢 just wanting to get back out on the streets and drive around with all those newer cars😂 it is a shame that people let cars just sit there and waste away when they could be out on the street looking beautiful shiny running really good better than the cars on the street what happened to America's cars that used to be really great I love the videos that they restore these cars and drive them down the street bring the tear to my eye😢 I'm in my 60s and we used to have beautiful cars and then the car manufacturers just fucked it all up😂
Those little cheesy saws are kind of handy. I like to keep mine charged up in the basement so if we ever have a tornado or bad storm, I can maybe cut my way out. Thanks for the vid. Seen a LOT of those 64s in AZ when I was growing up. Had a friend in high school with a 4 door.
Don't be in a hurry getting parts for your 64 Chevy, going to swap meets will yeald you a lot of parts for your 64, get there early, happy parts hunting, good buy!!!!!
I think you got really lucky when you were outbid on that convertible. I doubt they'll get it out of there without breaking it in half. Looks like the floors and rockers are totally gone. I think the frame is most likely in the same condition. He picks it up from the rear with that Bobcat, the way he did yours, it's very likely to fold up like a cardboard box.
🗿💨 i traded a body like this for a 55 sedan back in mid 80s. One i had was a shell that had the 409 4spd long gone. That car went to northern KY.. Thanks for sharing Tim, ✌️ Peace
There are only a limited number of days in a calendar year that a place like that would be tolerable... I'm sure it made people re-think committing crimes... or at least try harder not to get caught LOL
I just got one from the field for 200. In way better condition. A 64ss. I FEEL LIKE I HIT THE JACK POT. but I'm building this car. numbers matching engine and all.
1959 to 1964 full size Chevrolet cars need to have the cowl replaced with a factory A/C cowl in order to install factory A/C in a car that came as a factory non A/C car.
I don't know who bought it. I heard it sold to a local guy there in Arkansas. I quit at the $3k mark. Just too many possible variables to put out any more than that for a listing with four pictures taken from one side of the car, a vehicle that I wasn't able to preview in person
12:43 "EDIT: I wrote this before I saw the part of the vid where it showed the condition of the car so take it with a grain of salt LOL"........ I am confused by that statement. Why would the regular model convertible be "The cream of the crop" Between that and the "SS Coupe" which from my understanding and personal preference is MUCH more desirable and should bring a price premium due to it's "SS" designation and the Coupe hard top being a lighter car because there's no need to make it more structurally sound due to the Vert's lack of a roof support. From what little I know I thought most all verts required heavy beams and supports in the side rails or some type of strengthening method to keep it from twisting out the car when driving for years et. Perhaps the vert is more desirable due to it being the slow ride cruiser that many people used to build (I guess still do) to make a "Dingle Ball Rider" with Air ride and hydraulics. ?

Amazing! Thanks for sharing, what a wild memory.
I'll buy it to keep my mother in law in..😐
Way to go Tim,another SS saved!
Even comes with a wood grain dash ...
My favorite car . Had many in my younger days..
I would bring that 57 back to life !
Best left as a parts car.

Mad Respect you are a brave man thank you for saving these impalas

Hay man you live in a historical place thats cool 😎 a lot of bonnie and clyde history is there great video 😊
I'm always amazed at the cars that people are willing to bring back from the dead. Never would have thought they had the value that they do - I get an education from Tim every time I watch this channel. Brilliant
The doors on that old jail cell are called “strap iron”. Fairly common in jail construction in late 1800’s to early 1900’s. Awesome stuff
I get excited when UA-cam tells me you have a new video. Never change your format and honesty. Awesome!
So this guy is just a flipper...
that 57 would be a cake walk for DD hackshop
Butcher it up, slap a big block in it. He's good at that
The first can I ever restored was a 1964 Impala SS convertible . I'm doing a 1967 SS396 Chevelle. It's my favorite car as a kid.
I think you made the right decision that convertible is going to take a ton of money to fix.
Awesome finds .keep saving them impalas
Luv the '63 and' 64 Impalas. '63 Impala was my first car. My father bought a brand new '63 Impala SS. Beautiful car.
great video again Mr. Goodpliers, very interesting and enjoyable 💯👍

Excellent mr pliers cheers 🥂 😊
We need more good folks like Mr. Goodpliers keeping these classics out of the crusher.
A great find! So it's a little rough, definitely not that big a deal considering that you can get most of the parts for it. And it's a super sport.
Pretty cool history piece.
Holy! She's rough, it's even rougher than the field 64 I just picked up. I have a complete floor plan from firewall through trunk pan btw
At 6:57:00,that Chevy COE, yes, I want it now! Loved all of the COE/Snub-noses from the Big Three. Just unique and great looking larger trucks.
Nice find on the door panel emblem!
You use to be able to get the insides of the trunk body mounts.
Thanks for the ridea
Good choice on the impala the hard top is my favorite 👍
That Iron jail is a piece of history that should be saved.
That's a good builder. 👍
Every part for the Impala is available including the rear body mount, also it could be ordered with a bench from factory
Its a cool SS Impala. It looks better with those bumper guards. Its a interesting project. We certainly seen worce being fully restored.
I used to like convertables, but since the summers have become way too hot, I prefer the hardtops.
That International pickup truck is very cool truck.
Mr . B. Here ! 🍩☕️👀😎👍. Very cool place ! Nice buy ! 👀😎👍🇺🇸
My uncle had purchased a brand new 1964 impala 4 door, But I never noticed if it had a post or not. His was also maroon in color.
who cares!!!

If we still had jail cells like that, we would have virtually no crime!
Thats because the crooks would die off during the cold season.
There were jail cells like that then, why was there crime?
I'd buy that just to keep my nosy-assed mother-in-law in it sometimes...😐
We got crackheads around here I'd like to incarcerate.

I was living in Siloam Springs Arkansas when I was working in the Allen's canning company, in the city plant, back in 1995
Awesome video…..
cool mr goodplyers

I like that jail box
My brother and I in the mid-seventies had 64' Impallas. His met the end parked in a street and was totaled by a drunk driver.
I hear those 2 impalas crying
nice find. lot of people like 1964 impala/belair/biscayne.
So boys and girls, spend 80 thousand dollars or more restoring the impala and when your done you have a 50 k car. Brilliant.
*Never interrupt a man determined pi$$ away money on an old rust bucket. Who knows? When done he will find another PT Barnum candidate to buy it.*
@@blackrifle6736 your right it is a free country.
Sure they were both rough, but savable ,thumbs up great video

That poor cabover will probably end up on a modern chassis with a stupid LS under the hood.
Nice job makeing chevy😊
That 64ss looks like the one from Cheech and chong up and smoke movie
I think you got the better of the Impalas. Wish the 57 closer to Apple Valley. Still lots of good pieces it.
My family used to frequent a jail like that in Saint Joe Texas. I was thinks dang how did they not have heat stroke
There are only a limited number of days in a calendar year that a place like that would be tolerable... I'm sure it made people re-think committing crimes... or at least try harder not to get caught LOL
@@mr.goodpliers6988 might need some of those in Ca
i get your thoughts 100%
What ended up happening to that video player you got from the auction, did it work? Great content as always
I just got one from the field for 200. In way better condition. A 64ss. I FEEL LIKE I HIT THE JACK POT. but I'm building this car. numbers matching engine and all.
It depresses me to think about how much work and money it will take good luck.
Oh Boy that's a Nice COE ❤ that's Cheap
Dude my grate grand maw had one white with blue lether wish it never left the place .
1959 to 1964 full size Chevrolet cars need to have the cowl replaced with a factory A/C cowl in order to install factory A/C in a car that came as a factory non A/C car.
That convertible in parts is worth some money stainless is priced up there and it has a vin number
Awesome 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽🔥🫡 #chevy
They would pay big money for those in Japan
At 3:20 looks like USAF so likely didn't go off base if at all.
A two cell block could be used to store a pair of AK locals, a woman in one side and man in the other...😉😉
My dad has a set of those ss hubcaps
I'd love to buy the hardtop
It's available and I have filed for the title. Email me mrgoodpliers1985@gmail.com
If modern prisons and jails were still built like that box, crime might drop quite a bit.
I’m looking for two 62 Chevy wagon tailgates, impala or bel air.
I want that cabover
I need the convertible DM as a project
I don't know who bought it. I heard it sold to a local guy there in Arkansas. I quit at the $3k mark. Just too many possible variables to put out any more than that for a listing with four pictures taken from one side of the car, a vehicle that I wasn't able to preview in person
My very first car at 16 a 64 283 Chevy impala
Joe ?? I n to IH's. 61 b110. Few old yards here north MN survivors from scrap yet. Also know IH Guys..
$2850 for that rusted out convertible?nuts!!!even the 2 door hardtop would be rough to get your money back!!good luck though!!
The steel jail cell? Hey, mother in law, here's your new house! 😄😐
$2,500 is a great price!
Check out the ‘64 ( hello grandma) tell your daddy to page me ( ok playa stay up )😂❤🎉🚘
64 SS should be a floor shift car. Unless it was a 3 speed stick shift.
How is it you are never attacked by snakes?
Convertible is always worth money on impalas!

yes my GTO frame is boxed
It’s been my experience that people looking to scam you always use crappy pictures in their auctions.
This would make a great cheech and chong replica.🤘
😎🥂🌶
huh .. was there money under or inside of it?
Deer Tim you never responded back to my question does the 65 ford Galaxy have a Ford 9 inch rearend and do you have a 390 please respond thank you
Was the tree an option?
Green energy powered!😂
MGP: I guess if someone was in Antarctica and they had money and there was nothing to do, yeah.
TIME & MONEY, I can't see how it pays, you're lucky if you break even on this rust bucket.
Any idea what engine it had?
327, by the flags on the fenders. 300 HP more than likely, from the factory tach being in the dash.
5:20 from what era may they've been?
Tree wheel motion.
