    This is the kind of museum i love! Real collector cars for sale outside that the owners will help you transport back to your home for a fee. These cars give the buyer a chance to purchase a reasonably priced project that runs and drives(mostly) that can give you plenty of years of enjoyment. Thanks Dolloff for previewing this place. I wish more places were like this establishment.

    I'm 48 and have live in the Rapid City area all my life. Remember when I was a kid passing by this place and most of the cars were Ford Model T, Model A, etc. vintage with a few '40s and '50s stuff.. Obviously as the years have gone by the cars have gotten newer and newer.

    As a car nut, I can confidently say that this guy knows his Classics. Impressive command of some of the detail.
    Some of those are quite uncommon finds- the ‘57 Ford 2-Dr post, the 1971 Olds Cutlass S (at a very reasonable price, too)…and that mid-50s Willys? I mean, c’mon!…$2,100 for a shortbed ‘58 Ford F100?? Wouldn’t be surprised if that was gone in a week!
    Very cool inventory! Wish I had the space here in Gilbert, as I’d snag that ford p’up and a few of those 2-door patina honeys!!

    These vehicles are in an unbelievably good condition. I would love a late 1950's Thunderbird, these are very rare in Aus. The dry climate in Outback Australia is kind to vehicles, but generally the only classics are dumped old Holdens, Falcons, the occasional Valiant , Toyota Land Cruiser with paintwork sun blistered almost back to bare metal and most almost totally stripped of parts. Dad was in New Orleans in 1996 and went to a wrecking yard looking for a horn ring and headlight rims for my grandma's 1964 Chrysler Valiant, was told they didn't keep cars that old, he was amazed at the good condition of some of the vehicles even in New Orleans.

      @ponga782 Actually I like solid western metal. I am from New Hampshire originally so like to stay away from east coast rust buckets. 1500 would get this stuff to continental US but 1500 at a body shop to repair rust buckets hardly gets you in the door. I love right off i90 in South Dakota so I see truck loads headed east daily for the last 25 years to lots of other guys wanting western cars or trucks. • @DolloffAntiques
      @DolloffAntiques  14 днів тому +1

      This is south dakota and in case you were unaware this area is a very kind climate for old cars. I have found rust free bodies out here that have been right down in the dirt for 60 or 70 years so I really don't think one winter will hurt a project car. Now if they had good paint or interiors that would be a different story.

    •  14 днів тому

      @DolloffAntiques so what are you saying, South Dakota doesn't have a winter? And by the looks of those cars it does. Harsh as hell from what I can remember driving threw SD.

    • @DolloffAntiques
      @DolloffAntiques  14 днів тому +1

      I moved here from New Hampshire 25 years ago for this reason. Yes it gets cold. Yes there is some snow. However they don't use salt on the roads, it's a semi arrid climate, and it's always windy. The combination of these things makes it a very good climate for old cars. Condition means everything and with old cars that means a lack of rust equals value. Body shops get 100+ per hour and it takes a ton of time to repair so the math isn't good and you are much better off to start with a solid western body. Also when we talk rust we mean holes not light surface stuff.
