- Wheels can be a large part of a cars appearance. It can also be a dilemma because of various options or issues. Well, this is my journey to find a budget performance set of wheels that are lightweight, durable and clear the front brake calipers of my GTR.

I saw your videos 2 years ago when I was debating STI vs GT-R. I went with the STI because I could not bring myself to spend 60K+ on a GT-R.
Fast forward 2 years later, I sold my WRB 400whp STI and bought a Black Edition GT-R with 30K miles, 1 Owner, clean title in mint condition for 73K. It’s a lot but man I feel like a celebrity driving it.
People take pictures, randoms come up to talk to me about it and everywhere I go people are breaking their necks to look at my car 😂😂😂
Congrats on your purchase!
Its true, one time I went up to Lake Tahoe at the self car wash to clean it up, a young lady came to me asking can she take a photo of my 2018 R35.......! ( all stock Pearl white )
Good to see you back, thank you!
Thank you for the support!
Im picking up my GTR this week. Its nice to see someone posting budget friendly mods on youtube. Thanks for thr inspiration. I think the color looks pretty nice btw!
Looks good, been following since I bought my GTR. Nice to see you do some upgrades backed with some research.
Thanks bro!
Great video! I will use 18" when i buy my GT-R
Love the content
Thank you!
Looks good Gary 👍👍👍
Thanks!
Just started watching your channel getting this car is my goal definitely expensive but won’t be too difficult for me to obtain.
That blue looks awesome
nice to see you again, I run rohana, RFX2, 285F/325R tire. oem wheels i swap in winter time where they have blizzacks on them mounted. I dont drive the car in snow, I'd like to see more GT-R videos :) wheels look great, I'm not a fan of wheel spacers :)
Thanks for the info and support!
Clean Gary clean classic simple styling
Love 18's. Had to get the ze40
The ZE40's are beautiful wheels
I bought speed by design FF5 wheels for $1500 for the 18” setup. No spacers needed. The wheels were designed specifically for the Gtr like all products made by speed by design. Worth a check out in the future if you wanna go a new direction.
Good to know. Thanks
Wheels look good. I downsized from 20" to 19" on my car. I can't believe you have owned this car for 10 years! Wow!
Yeah, doesn't even feel that long.
I like the wheels but not the color is all. Granted you are budget shopping so its what they had. The Rim color would look amazing on my white GTR. Love the content!
Totally agree!
Nice, they look similar to the wedsports tc105n. Ready for 9 sec now. :p
😅😂
nice wheel setup. If ever you would go for hyped brands...would be interested to see Volk Racing 21A on an R35 GTR
They would look good on a GTR. Reminds me of the old school BBS LM.
Idea for video… What have you been up to for the last year. Car wise.
-Long time fan.
Great idea. Let me get these videos out and I'll follow up with that.
maybe next time, you could show us an update on an engine oil change, transmission fluid, brake fluid and/or any other maintenance on the GTR,
i know you did some videos about it but it was a long time ago, cheers, stay safe mate
Thanks, I was actually thinking about doing an updated one for the transmission. This time including replacing the filters.
@@GTContentthat would be awesome! And the wheels looks good! I recently just got a set of wheel for my gtr also.
@@kdash0213 Nice!
I had my Volk CE28SL for almost four years and no curb rash just minor chips from use
Nice wheels!
What width and offset are you running in the front? And what size tires front and back?
Are tires correct bro? Yeap budget is good...my beadlock setup is 10k...but not streetable for runs
Hankook RS4 295/40/18
Yeah, a drag setup is a nice option to have when you need them.
I just wanted a setup I can do most everything with. So far I've been on spirited mountain drives, 1/4 mile drag strip runs , highway pulls and daily driving with the RS4 and they are a great compromise.
Can you please explain why or how a square set up is cheaper than a staggered set up?
Same tire and wheel sizes. Typically if you go wider for the rear, it costs more.
@@GTContent in your experience, is going 285 for all 4 tires okay with stock set up? Would there be any issues in the front with rubbing or does 285 fit fine in the front?
@@racingguy11 A lot of owners have ran 285 in the front with no issues. It may bulge a little depending on tire manufacturer, but will work.
@@GTContent I have the Bridgestone turanza T005. I do mostly normal driving some spirited driving....but definitely don't drive hard or street race or go to the track. Any recommendations for budget friendly all seasons durable tires?
can you fit a 17x7.5 on these with 42 offset? just curious
Won't fit in the front due to brake calipers.
@@GTContent thank you sir!
Where exactly did you purchase these ?
Ebay
Rotas? Or xxr?
None of those
I don't understand the point of this 'upgrade'?
wheels/tires are S tier for any car. They affect everything the car can do since they're what connects the car to the road. Acceleration, braking, cornering/grip, road feel, steering response to name a few. Most don't care about all that, just care about the looks, but to each their own. Weight in the wheels can drastically change how a car feels, along with dimensions of the wheel/tire.
@@Boostguru there is no significant weight saving, they certainly don’t look better, the car was designed and optimised with the 20” wheel and tyre combination so unless this was done specifically for drag racing then I still don’t see the point.
Blue is a gay crab color. But settle for it if you want those rims. I agree that choosing the color that matches the car is best especially if emphasis is on the looks. On the contrary, I say if performance is the focus then settle for the ugly blue color. I say if you’re willing to pay a premium price/amount I would choose the Nismo version if it’s still available.
$500 for the set of wheels??? no way right?
I was able to during the holidays. Might have to wait until holidays come up again.
The wing has to go, 30lbs of pointless weight.
The wing is actually 18.6lbs.
