10000000 IQ bronze TEs are the best wheel with the best color, they look good on almost anything. Bronze Work cr kai emotions coming in second, in my book at least. I had an Evo iv mr years back, and I'd swap between those two wheels like a couple times a week. Had to keep people on their toes.
Totally agree with the description of the RPF-1. Had a set for a number of years. Given its light weight, strength, and price the wheel is a genuine bargain.
Honourable mentions, the 1990s modular BBS RS wheels, the quintessential wheel of the Supertouring era and like the 1980s version, it spawned numerous copies. BBS E50, the quintessential 1970s wheels, spawned imitations including the SSR Formula Mesh. Rudge-Whitworth, spawned the many numerous classic car wheels including Borrani and Dayton
I figured the TE37 would be number one....but I figured the Spoon SW388 wheels would be on the list somewhere. They have been repped so much and everyone I feel like has owned a set of Rota Slipstreams as some point.
panasport racing wheels, TSW imola, TSWvenom, BMW alpina, Cragar Classic, Cromodora CD3, cromodora CD50, cromodora CD238, Schmidt TH Line, Compomotive Turbo, Ronal Turbo Wheels, Momo Alpina, Dayton wire wheel, Speedline Corse,.......remember to check that ones, when it comes to a trend on wheels....
If you guys search for Euro car wheels without putting the same bbs on your car like 90%of people here's another two very classy euro wheels with old-school and new versions available by now Borbet A Ronal Turbo
Most iconic if your memory only goes back five minutes. How about Centerline? They practically invented the aftermarket wheel industry. Brands like Centerline, Weld, and Crager made the wheels everyone rode on decades before any of these manufacturers existed. One-off wheels cut from billets; you can thank Boyd Coddington for that. Today's manufacturers stand on the shoulders of those who pioneered standards and processes for wheel building.
Chris Scoleri oh man! I had some Centerline Hellcats, on my 96 GMC Sierra back in the day. Sat wide and just looked right. You reply brought back some memories!
Great channel! I usually don't comment but I found your video's to be very helpful. I appreciate the historical information you bring in as well. Good job!
I seriously considered the TE37 as a replacement for my Rays forged aluminum OEM wheels on my 370Z sport but decided that the weight difference wasn't enough to justify the price. I'm also a little unsure about the torsional rigidity of an even spoke wheel with diametrically opposed spokes. I went with a 19" 5-spoke forged magnesium monoblock from Litespeed Racing, the RS5RR in gloss black.
superturismo's are very race oriented, this video is more about aftermarket for the street. about the superleggeras... well, i could name a few famous rims that aren't here too
Always loved the look of OZ wheels on anything blue, gold or black.. Even got one for my blue VFR800 bike a number of years ago. Tyre isn't fitted in this pic, but you get the idea.. didn't take many pictures toward the end before selling her. i.imgur.com/9sTTW0f.jpg
@@boniedwin I was being a cheap bastard :P got the wheel for $100 from a wrecked drift car. If you Google VFR800 car wheel, you'll see many examples. my RPF1 are on the way right now lol putting it on my XTS, not enough mods out there for that car but im shaving off 64lbs in wheel and tire weight, swapping the mufflers for smaller less heavy ones and tuning the ecu and tcu with the highflow KN drop in filter and a throttle body spacer
The newer Japanese wheels don't belong on this list. My list : Cragar S/S, Watanabe 8 spoke, BBS RS, Dayton Wire Wheel, Slotted mags (i.e, Ansen Sprint) all wheels that hold deep significance in their respective fields, some even in multiple.
What about the oz Superturismo WRC? They have been around for shorter (since the 90's) than some of the wheels on the list, but they are iconic for SURE! Great video!
The Dayton wire wheel?!? Can't think of a wheel that is more closely tied to a culture like spokes and lowriders. Maybe not so much anymore but at one point you couldn't take a lap of your local cruse spot without seeing someone sitting on a set of wire wheels.
So on my 05 e46 what offset should I run ? I have all stock suspension and just want a flush look at 18 inch rims also it's a daily driver and I don't want to break the bank Thanks for the help

its your car, i know that, but that just ruins the car. you could do so much to make the car pretty. you have a german car, and you are trying to implement japanese origins into it, and to me it just looks fugly. do me a favor and check out vossens.
gotta disagree with you... the BBS to me is the most iconic! Here in the Washington DC area I started my wheel (shoe) fetish with my first set of BBS in 1989.
Amen you earned much creditability with this list, I love my TE37's and secondly my RPF1's, maybe add rays gram lights to your list right behind the rpf1s
Would go with the Works, Enkeis or Volks but its out of my price range. I think something that looks good on a blocky car might be something from the Works series for sure.

Ok, what about TE37?
Good decision
I agree
I am quite disappointed with these two replies. Of course i watch the video. My bad for commenting on a 12 year olds’ comment.
I guessed three of those 5 wheels. TE37s and RPF1s are amazing. BBS RS's are just the classics
Can't go wrong!
BBS RS is often heavy though. BMW supplied BBS RS are 12KG for just a 17"/18" wheels.

I've bought 6 sets of volk Te37s over the years... So yeah I think they absolutely deserve that number 1 spot.
Edward Agora Feenman dammm 6 sets!!! And I feel like a baller with some rpf1’s on my Wrx lol

Clayton Funke yeah, if you have 7 sets of te37s... You win.
OMG....the best wire rims ever made... from Dayton
Enkei RPF1 just goes with every car, it looks so good.
Totally agree with TE37’s being no.1. I do think that the SW388/Regamaster’s should definitely be on this list though.
I know people don't understand but i prefere the JR12 somehow. Just take a look at this wheel in 17x9 ET 25
If it ain’t TE37’s then the car sits until TE37’s are put on

Ive saw a few Priuses with TE37
surprisingly they make the whole car looks better
So glad I found this channel
the bbs is the most iconic... fact..

To give someone a flash from the past, my Toyota MR2 is running Lenso D1R wheels - specifically, the black ones with the Red Strip around them

TE37, Watanabe RS8, Enkei RPF1, BBS RS, and SSR Mk1-3
I know it's not aftermarket, originally at least, but BMW CSL wheels is a worthy mention. There are so many reps of that design it's insane!
