I have 3 tko trans cases that needs minor alum welds. Is it possible to weld mines this way without the patches?

What would cause a hole like that? as i have a pretty bog hole in my audi tt gearbox.

I’m asking myself the same thing. Lifted my e36 the other day just to find a fat hole in the zf 5 speed. Also it’s interesting bf that it is not near the clutch, rather in the middle of the case so I’m asking myself how did it happen.
