I used this version of the product in a different application. ua-cam.com/video/Aws5NAlCD18/v-deo.html
It might be even better than the spray.
This is not necessarily a recommended usage of our products. But we're glad it worked for as long as you needed it to! 💪
It did get me by for a few days until a more suitable and permanent fix could be achieved!
Awesome man!
Thanks for watching. I know I'll be keeping a can or two of this stuff around for emergency repairs like this. I used this version of the product in a different application. ua-cam.com/video/Aws5NAlCD18/v-deo.html It might be even better than the spray.
you need to drain the oil first then clean it with brake cleaner then aply flex seal
I love your suggestion. The trans fluid did eat away at the Flex Seal over time. Fortunately, it held long enough until I got a new pan and bolt and all is repaired.
I would have used tire bead sealer.... coat the bolt with that or lock tite
@@leadnsteel1428 My transmission doesn't have a pan and is leaking. I have been cleaning it on and off with brake cleaner, dishwashing detergent, and other cleaners. At some point I just need to put dye in the transmission and engine and see if I can do anything about either leak.
@@drippingwaxtry Honda bond application 1st then this flex seal for coating…works as a charm for my same issue hehe i have Manual Transmission btw on my 2013 Honda accord
why not use silacan gasket sealant.
Using a High Temperature rubber Gasket ring on the bolt and then use the Red RTV sealant and then spray it with flex seal
Ooo, those are great tips. Thanks! Sounds like the voice of personal experience.
Im in Florida have a oil an cooler leak i don't see wether like that down here so ill give it a try fr fr
Careful. It won't last long with only a topical application. After a couple days the trans fluid weakened the rubber adhesion. As a temp fix only.
Never use synthetic on older model cars only Conventional oil to avoid leaks
What would you consider as "older"?
Looks just like rubberized undercoating, probably very similar. I had the same problem w/ my engine oil drain plug on my 2006 VW Jetta w/ the 1.9L tdi turbo diesel 4cyL. Drain plug just kept turning, so I just hit it on either side w/ a flat chisel & it came right out. I band aid fixed for about 3 oil changes w/ high temp rtv sealer & 2 rubber washers w/ the regular steel washer in between. It worked okay for a while, but finally fixed it right w/ a S.O./Single Oversize plug from O'Reiley's. It's a 14mm X 1.5, almost the same size as the most common spark plug thread(14mm X 1.25). It worked great, was about .017" oversized & was nice & tight. I still used a good amount of teflon tape & rtv sealer. The dang pan is aluminum I think,(or Junk pot metal) if it was steel, it wouldn't have happened, or at least been easier to fix. They also make D.O./Double Oversize plugs for threads that are Rrrrrrreally screwed up. Thanks for sharing. - take care
Brilliant! I just love hearing about ways to get things fixed! Wack it off with a chisel! Why didn't I think of that? Learn something new every day!
Yes it is a bit like rubber undercoating. It was a tempo fix too and did fine until I got a new pan. Thanks for sharing your experience.
@@TSGEnt I didn't word that quite right, I put the flat chisel between the drain plug hex head & the washer/pan. After hitting it on both sides 180 degrees apart, it pulled the plug outwards, the threads engaged & it came out like it would/should usually.
@@TSGEnt Here's a video when I fixed it the 1st time: ua-cam.com/video/U1GcCoNTSX8/v-deo.html

How much does it cost
if you go here: www.shootinguy.com/flexseal and click on the product links you can see the latest prices.
Omg lol you plastered that crap right over the drain bolt why didn’t you just replace the crush washer that’s between drain bolt and pan that supposed to be replaced when it starts leaking?
Crush washer. Hmm. Didn't have one at the moment. Also the treads were stripped. Needed a new pan or re-thread the old one. Had FlexSeal so I went with that. Worked! For about a week and got in the new pan and gasket. It's all better now!
I say give it a try. Sorry about your truck
Thanks. We'll get up and going soon.
Flex seal, I put that sh*t on everything!
Me too! Works great on leaky gutters! ua-cam.com/video/upOHNShLZKc/v-deo.html
I have used JB Weld on a cracked oil pan and it lasted over 7 years when I sold the car.
That's great to know! That' stuff is a good fixer.
You supposed to spay more coat
Next time, I'll try more
Weld it and you are ready to go
That is certainly a possible solution!
i think the plug will fall out and you will lose all of your fluid and get arested for littering.
Try to stop went you reading long words it’s des-natu-ralizádo
Bueno, gracias.
