Phantylia is the next major boss in our attempt to beat Honkai: Star Rail using only Erudition characters. Only problem is that Phantylia is the next major boss... This is a problem
Is it possible to beat the content of Honkai: Star Rail with ONLY Erudition Characters? That means the story, forgotten hall, simulated universe, etc.
With no sustain of any kind, it's definitely gonna be a challenge for us... And getting a Himeko on the account is all we can hope for with our first 5 star

when you fell phantylia and finish the current story there i is a item you can get from the valley at the end of the event prayer machine it restores 1000 hp at the start of you charcters turns for the first five turns of the battle it wont help in this battle but if you can beat it you get a nice source of healing for a team that cant heal

I won first try,my jing yuan (the one I own not the trial one) and welt carried the fight
happened to me too😭 its scripted but you have to survive one more attack which i didnt do and i was mad bc my sw burst usually does enough but it didnt and at the time i didnt know it was scripted
The party slots have zero baring on who gets targeted. The only factors are different paths, some skills like Fire MC's taunt, March's shield and two light cones. Otherwise it is completely random.
Lynx's heal on Destruction/Preservation characters also changes aggro
The party slots do affect the position of your characters. This info isn't useful to Java since he's doing erudition only and all erudition characters have the same chance of being targeted, but for those of you who have preservation or destruction units, they will get targeted more often, so play them away from your more squishy teammates (usually on the edge) so that enemies that deal aoe attacks that don't hit your whole team will only hit 2 people instead of 3 when targeting your tank.
Like if you put gepard on the 4th slot and he's targeted by an attack that his adjacent teammates, only teammates 3 and 4 will be hit, whereas if the enemy targets teammate 3, then that attack will hit 3 people, being teammates 2, 3, and 4.

tinygun always get targeted and i read somewhere that the higher ___ (i don't remember) they have, the higher chance they will get attacked....? this is probably clear as mud but oh well
its not the they dont target slot 4, its that they dont target erudition and hunt as much as abundance or preservation for example, and since your team is only erudition all characters have an equal chance of being attacked.
also i think because of jing yuan supposed to be taking the hits in the story thats going on, he might have a higher chance of being attacked, dont quote me on that but its just a guess
As for the team slot/damage relation, google is wrong (gasp, no way?). Different paths have different aggro values, Preservation>Destruction>Harmony=Nihility=Abundance>Erudition=Hunt, though Hunt often have passives that decrease their aggro further. Aggro values are essentially how likely a character is to be hit. Google probably decided just to say that the 1st slot should be hit most and 4 least since that's how many people order their characters (highest to lowest aggro) as to make their DPS take less splash damage.
Just to add to this comment, the aggro values should be 4 for Preservation, 3 for Destruction, 1 for Hunt and 2 for all the other Paths. Theoretically, the aggro value and character placing would be important, but since this is a Mono-Path run, all your characters will have the same aggro value, which is 2: on paper, they have each a 25% chance of getting targeted, but in reality it really is all a matter of RNGesus. I guess the most viable option is trying to farm relics to get some better ones, level up traces as far as you can and Light cones too (plus the consumables buffs). It may be just be enough to deal enough damage before getting the whole party wiped (while still praying that Jing Yuan doesn't get targeted)
@@Alex-pl8iiI'm pretty sure Erudition and Hunt have the same Aggro value if you don't take the character specific traces that lower Aggro further
the "anti-healing" effect they inflict u with doesn't prevent u from healing, it just decreases ur max HP, so u can heal up to the point not blocked by the grey bar
if you use luocha and natasha then yes. bailu cant do that cuz she doesnt have cleanse

unfortunately, phanthylia character forwards when reaches 1% hp on story, and she also does the full AoE attack on that one too, so if she prioritizes Himeko first on that, Jing Yuan will still be dead on her 2nd attack xd
And the last attack is always on Jing Yuan
She also says "forgive my indulgence" when that happens
if you do the new event theres a food in the shops that heals your characters for 5 turns
its called prayer machine to get the recipe you need to finish the event to unlock the last shop or just buy as much as you can when you unlock the shop that sells it

Don't you need to complete the new quest first before doing the event?
The shop can only be opened after doing the event. The problem here is that you can't do the event nor go to Aurum Alley unless you do the latest Trailblazer mission.
There's also a chance of getting Prayer Machine from the valuable parcels that Maozhen sells in Cloudford.
It actually also heals enemies

you are correct. the guard set is one of the best sets for these types of challenges as it might be your only form of sustain

Nope the slots doesnt matter its about path who have more aggro value (More value=More targetted)
75:Hunt/Erudition
100: Harmony/Nihility/Abundance
125:Destruction
150:Preservation
My game hasn’t heard of this, because Sampo, Kafka, & Pela *always* get targeted before March or Fire MC
btw abundance is less than destruction i believe. pretty sure abundance is 100
You might have to switch to that relic set that reduces incoming damage and heals you when under 50% hp
Prana-shipon only effects the top 30% HP, the rest can still be healed
For this battel you've got to stack up Jing yuan with HP because as yk if he dies the team dies so i would recommend to put him on full HP and give his build to Serval

@@mtsepasHavoc is ludicrously strong, able to two shot anyone with 4000 or less HP, but if Jing Yuan sacrifices damage for HP, Phantylia can fire more of them off throughout Phase 2 and 3

Isn’t it like a guarantee that she will attack Jing yuan once she reaches 1% hp and after those attacks it goes into a cutscene, I remember that’s what happened to me and my friends
On 1% she does a guaranteed AoE attack (so on Jing Yuan too), and then the single attack/cutscene

yeah that healing set should in theory still work, they limit how much you heal but the set only lets you heal when you are below 50% so it'd still work
i think the attacking jing yuan is scripted since he's important in the story and the domain requires you to bring him, but i do know that all the paths have different aggro levels (destruction is the one that gets aggro the most i believe)
I barely managed to beat Phantylia with Bailu literally bringing my characters back from the dead, so the fact you managed to make it all the way to the third phase's last scripted attack on Jing Yuan is looking promising!
BTW I'm pretty sure the slot thing is meant for when you build teams, since diffrent classes have diffrent agro levels. but since your doing Erudition only it doesnt mater bc they all have the same agro level

I mean to be honest this is his erudition only run. As u heard his main account where he could actually use healers he was chill

Same, but the thing is, i had Natasha in my team.. yes, she was very poorly built as i barely knew how to build that character, or any of my characters for that matter because all the terms, paths, elements, relics, lightcones, etc were a lot different from genshin even tho I've been playing for around 2 years, but she's nonetheless a healer. Java on the other hand doesn't have any healers whatsoever, but if he was allowed to use an Abundance character, I have a feeling he would've been able to do it first try.

The anti healing effect just reduces the max amount of hp a character can have aka you cant heal over the gray part on the bar it doesnt actually limit any healing under that at all and since the set only heals when your under 50% hp that set would be practically unaffected by the debuff making it very good for your use case
love your videos Java! hope you can beat phantylia, without healing shes so hard to beat lol even i had trouble with bailu. i saw some leaks and it doesnt seem like there will be an erudition character any time soon, i think farming better relics is the way rn
honestly the thing with the blessings happens to me too, even if picking other paths for some reason game gives me everything but the path i picked. also im so glad youre also a dan heng il simp like me, currently saving everything i got for his rerun
in the new event there is a new consumable that recovers 1000HP per turn for 5 turns, i guess you should use it in future videos

Erudition is still my fav path and yesterday I got Himeko's 5* light cone and her E1 (lost my 50/50 but anyway), just after finally getting a 4* Herta light cone for the first time last week, it loves me back 🩵 Hopefully it keeps loving you too and the challenge will be successful!
As a fellow himeko main, i suggest you use s5 breakfast on her. That is the best lightcone fot f2p like us❤

Pro tip if you get stuck at a hard boss I would recommend the Mung bean soda and normal bottled soda it works shockingly well together and usually works for me

the flowers just reduce the max % of your hp which can be healed (the gray bar on the characters hp bar is what you cant heal up) but they dont make it so that you cant heal at all so that relic set would not be useless
I’d recommend putting JY on Guard of Wuthering Snow because it’ll let him heal!
It gives dmg reduction, heals based on max HP if your HP is lower than 50%, and regenerates energy

every time ive run sim uni, ive always used frags to refresh blessings if the blessings i got werent of the path. really really helpful, helps minimise rng
The Targeting of Characters is based of an Target Value which is dependant of the path of the character.
Choose Destruction or Nihility, if you don't have any healers. I completed all the worlds without using any healers or preservation, choosing Nihility gives you a blessing where you heal when a character deals DOT damage, which is good for erudition specially if you have Kafka and Himeko

I feel like it might be smart to increase equilibrium? You'll have to do a lot more farming though to get character levels and traces up, however you might be able to unlock more of the passive abilities from characters, giving you an advantage (the ones that require Echo of War drops). Even though this might be only after the 70-80 ascension, so this might be useless for now

i think for sim universe, preservation would just be better. there are so many cards that give shields whether or not you have a shield character, but abundance really only buffs healers and stuff

The little flowers don't actually put an anti heal on you and actually just limit your max hp, so you can still have the relic set heal you every turn. You just can't heal past a certain % of your health. You'd still have more health than the red health you have toward the end of the third phase.

Wow, i know you cant heal vs. Phantilia, but i used the DMG reduction 2pc for most of my early game playing. You need it!
Enemies' targeting system does not depend on the order you put your characters in the menu.
Each path has a taunt value, The taunt values for each path are the following:
Erudition: 75
Hunt: 75
Abundance: 100
Harmony: 100
Nihility: 100
Destruction: 125
Preservation: 150
The higher the value, the higher the chances are for an enemy to attack a character from one path.
Some external buffs like march's shield, some lightcones, Clara's ult or lynx's (new character) healing ability can increase the chances of a character being hit.
You can play around this and make some units get less targeted, for example:
Some people out a tank such as fmc in the last/first slot next to another character that is also tanky, a healer for example.
I personally like to put my tank in the middle (3rd or 4th slot) and put my dps and support arount it, the reason i do this is because in case one enemy does an AoE attack, my dps, support and tank get some energy when being hit.
You only have erudition characters which means there's a 25% chance of an enemy hitting a character in specific.
Noting that Sim universe 5 is way easier if you go abundance and manage to get 9 buffs so you can get the resonance, the debuff cleanse enhancement, and the auto refresh enhancement. That almost guarantees the confusion mark will be automatically removed each turn if you have enough speed. But you need to take every opportunity to get buffs over curios and refresh if you don't see abundance, forgoing being able to upgrade if necessary. Keep at it and you should be able to best kafka!
I don't know if anyone else has said it but you can try building one of your characters as a tank - giving them hp, def, yada yada

This took me a long time too, i have Jing Yuan and his light cone, so yeah bud its not only you, other people that are also not doing challenges still struggle, I brought a Shielder(Gepard) and Healer (Natasha) and it still took me 6 attemps

To grind simulated universe successfully just spam maps you can beat even if it's past weekly rewards you get xp to put into the skill tree and unlock the cleanse from abundance perk that literally solves all your Kafka issues and extra mats and XP to maybe use towards relics as for food buffs I don't use food at all but grinding simulated universe should be able to get you strong enough
yep, on my destruction only account, i got to phantilya a little early (ar 30) and now ive gotta grind to 40 so i can start getting 5* relics

So first of all there are taunt values that decide whos gonna be targeted and its partially rng meaning party slots dont change it.
secondly (correct me if Im wrong) but I am 99,9% sure that the attack she does at 1% hp always hits Jing Yuan (at least thats what she did for me)!

It took me many tries with fully leveled characters, fully leveled traces, and fully leveled light cones before I finally just had to level most of my relics. Only then was I able to survive the battle. ㅠㅠ
other thing you should probably use the trail jingyuan; he has the 4 set and is better built this way you can focus on the others for now.
