People saying Todo isn’t great offensively are forgetting that he’s also a physical powerhouse so strong that in the Goodwill event everyone was confident he’d solo all of Tokyo minus Yuta.

Arata's ability is kind of underated. He stops the inguries from getting worse and then you can use RCT. That way, if RCT is not enought to save a dude because his condition is getting worse too fast, you can use his technique to put a "save point" and let him live until someone can save him
i would put Maki above Todo since she would be more effective in eliminating curses compared to Todo. Todo's technique is broken but best utilized in a jumping but Maki can take out SG Curses on her own. the top 3 is on point btw
You do realize that he took down five grade one curse spirits without his technique at all and a special grade with it during the night parade of 100 demons?
@@tr2273 In the jjk grading system grade 1 sorcerors are stronger than grade 1 curses. We've seen from Nanami, Mei mei, Kusakabe and Naobito that grade 1 sorcerors are capable of keeping up with special grades with their main hangup being a lack of a domain expansion. Maki who was freshly awakened took out the entire Zenin clan including their elite forces by herself, defeated curse Naoya, can regenerate life threatening injuries in minutes and tanked a black flash from Sukuna. While todo defeated 5 unknown grade one curses and an unknown special grade curse using unknown methods. Todo also can't use his technique on Maki.
@@tr2273 yeah but that doesn't make him special grade. In sorcerers, only anomalies (such as maki) can be considered special grade, not just anyone that can kill a special grade curse. Todo is high grade 1 for sure, but not special grade.

@@lokieloo7479 im pretty sure most of them know only the limitless and didn’t inherit the six eyes, making them pretty much fodder because limitless and six eyes is extremely powerful but limitless without six eyes is terrible because limitless uses immense amounts of CE (cursed energy) even someone like yuta would run out of CE using the limitless technique, most people in the gojo clan would only be able to use 1 or 2 attacks before completely running out of CE and then be completely vulnerable to any attack. six eyes cannot be taught and is inherited.
Inumaki is so underrated because if you think about how gojo was only starting to learn infinity in high school just think how crazy cursed speech will be when he’s older
its not that Gojo was just learning to use infinity in high school, he literally couldn't use it to its potential because he couldnt figure out RCT. if he hadn't been almost killed by Toji he might never have become the strongest, before he figured out RCT he could only use his technique for a limited amount of time and the Six Eyes would basically fry his brain if he didnt cover his eyes. that being said, imagining Inumaki being able to 1) speak normally after mastering cursed speech, and 2) use more powerful and complex commands than 1-2 word verbiage, is terrifying
Something to have into account is that Yuji still has room or growth (if he survives the Shinjuku showdown of course) while others have already peaked or are really close to it, Yuji still can get much stronger by simply becoming profficient with BM and Shrine. I doubt he'll ever surpass Yuta without a decent domain though.
Bro if yuta shows up next chapter he better knows how kenny's ct works, plus if he gets to keep rika it means he still has copy abilities. He is by far one of the most broken characters in jjk and i still think he hasnt reached his prime yet
Maki below todo is crazy to me. Sure the vibra slap is crazy good but at some point no amount of positioning is going to win you a battle if you don’t have the power to back it up. He is great support but if he doesn’t have an extremely powerful ally there isn’t much he can do to the likes of maki. Also, I feel like Maki's pseudo precognition and heightened senses should be brought up more. If we look at the sukuna fights, maki was able to keep up with sukuna on her own for a decent amount of time while Todo would never have had a chance if yuji wasn't helping him.
Inumaki stocks SKYROCKETING rn. also im like 99% sure maki is stronger than hakari. Especially considering soul-split katana entirely bypasses his domain expansion because it deals damage to the soul which cannot be repaired with rct.
11:45 actually completely wrong. its stated that yuji was able to grow faster from sukuna using high level techniques in his body, so that means IF megumi did get his body back he would feel very experienced since sukuna has been fighting a lot with his body
That’s one perspective of looking at it since it’s from kusakabe’s pov. From another perspective which none of the main cast know apart from sukuna, uraume and kenjaku, is that yuji and sukuna are blood related and because of that innate ability, yuji’s talent is just so so high. So megumi’s talent doesn’t equal to yuji’s

Soul swapping works cuz it makes you build muscle memory and learn how it feels like to use certain abilities. But one month of soul training isn’t enough to make everyone just learn everything just like that, ino and kusakabe for example doesn’t know rct based from what we’ve seen even with the training. I’m saying yuji obviously benefitted from soul training but he also has an innate talent that’s equal to sukuna because not only was he born with the finger since day 1, but they’re literally related. That’s something kusakabe didn’t take into perspective because he and no one else knows about it, he’s just looking at it through one lens
@@farsous10 ik yuji has super high potential like sukuna, im more just highlighting that he learned a lot from all the time the time sukuna used his body and the same will happen to megumi. he doesnt have as much potential as yuji but still have a very good amount too and even was naturally a good vessel for sukuna (while yuji had to made into one). plus sukuna used his body much more and had higher stakes fights with gojo and current cast. comparing yuji to kusakabe is just unfair since kusakabe had to swap to teach ppls bodies and yuji swapped to learn from ppl (also yuji and megumi has much more potential than kusakabe). you also mentioned yuji being born with a finger but thats completely irrelevant tbh, it was made dormant and was never active till kenjaku started the culling games (which is why he never started with cursed energy) so it did not benefit his growth.

Honestly I think ur rly underrating Maki, especially her defensive capabilities. She doesn’t have many defensive “techniques”, but she’s durable like a fucking truck and has tanked like 2 black flash strikes from Sukuna. She fights like an animal and defends like a brick. I’d say she is above Todo in a 1v1 setting.

Lowkey I feel like Maki is above Hakari and Todo. Her strength is crazy and her weapon OP af. Her endurance is also insane how she was able to take a black flash from Sukuna and come back for a second one which still did not kill her. She was able to go head to head with Sukuna in a 1v1 as well, TWICE. I think her close combat capabilities puts her above others as she was able to fight Megkuna’s debut and then had a good one on one with full form Sukuna after Yuta was taken out of action. She’s the only person who could throw Sukuna around in a 1v1 a little. I also think she would’ve been able to take out Uraume faster

I do agree that Maki should definetly be above Todo but calling it a party trick is inaccurate. Todo is proficient at jumping people with Yuji but hes not any good on his own. Despite this, he's a really good sorcerer but is just outclassed by Maki is a lot of different categories.
@@sndorochi9660 many ideas come to mind- 1. They'll get on their fours for inumaki to act. 2. Something cylindrical from the closed vicinity, irrespective of what it is composed of come flying and fill them viciously. 3. If he said that to a group, they'll start performing act with each other. 4. It affects both parties and Inumaki is forced to do them. 5. They start streching their longer part to make it reach inside their deeper part and keep doing it untill they enjoy it or they break the longer part and then shove it up their deeper part. Truly a horrific death. 6. They feel the immense pain/joy as their deeper portion feels intense streching as something is going inside.
I cannot put Todo over Maki. Sure Maki doesn't have "traditional" support, but she is fucking invisible, indetectable and cannot be trapped in barriers. She also can see invisible things like Sukuna slashes. She is just the ultimate stealth fighter
We're acting like she's not one of the tankiest and high attack power characters in the entire series. Stealth isnt all she has on her side. She took a black flash from sukuna and curse naoya slamming into her at 3 times the speed of sound. The second one was also before she was fully awakened. She's an outstanding all rounder and would give hakari a run for his money. She'd probably lose to kashimo and definitely lose to yuta though
@@TheAdaoo7 Yeah definitely more tanky than Todo but her stealth is a way more deciding factor. Unlike Sukuna who is a monster, most sorcerers can die from a well placed stab, and considering Toji managed to even get the jump on a young Satoru Gojo, I anyone but adult Gojo or Sukuna are at risk of death if Maki manages to stealth on them (even Yuta or Kashimo). Hell she could beat Kashimo by hiding and stalling once he activates his CT (although I'm not sure if his CT is limit is time based or use based)
only thing you forgot to mention is that nobara striked a black flash alongside itadori that alone puts her in a better spot. He case is basically that she got "killed" before being able to get strong.
Nobara at 11 is craaaazy. She's a super talented student! She exorcised a special class cursed spirit (cursed womb) and had the advantage over Mahito's clone, both fights which established her physical combat credentials. She has excellent sense of strategy, how to use her terrain to her advantage, and how to get the most out of her technique. She also has hit a black flash. Inumaki is a glass cannon, alas. Even in support, because the backlash from his technique also increases with the cursed energy of its target. And Kamo is in a similar situation: his technique requires so much blood in order to be actually strong that he's limited to mostly ineffectual attacks. Nobara at 7/8/9 with Panda and Mechamaru behind. Panda is just a tank. No cursed technique, minimal strategy. And Mechamaru is iffy since only after his heavenly restriction was altered by Mahito was he able to really cut loose. Before then, his most powerful puppet lost to Panda in a 1v1 that didn't even bring out Triceratops. Puppet manipulation is useful support technique, and he's clearly really smart.
Maki straight up beats the living hell out of both Todo & Hakari ( arguably Yuji as well but I'm not going to talk about that fight because it's so controversial & contentious right now, just Todo & Hakari ). First of all, Todo's Boogie Woogie simply will be super ineffective against Maki. Not only is she faster ( like, MUCH faster, high hypersonic speeds and sub-relativistic reaction speeds in Shinjuku ), but Boogie Woogie literally won't work on her since she has no cursed energy, and he also doesn't have teammate, making it even more ineffective. Todo can only really use Boogie Woogie by infusing rocks & other materials with cursed energy, and before he does that, he's getting blitzed by the SSK which bypasses durability. Alright, now let's talk about Hakari VS. Maki. She is really just a hard counter for him. First of all, Hakari in his base is high Grade 1-caliber at the maximum ( a weaker Maki eviscerated an entire clan of Grade 1-level sorcerers single-handedly by the way ), so base Hakari is really doing absolutely nothing. He's not touching him with his rough CE, and anything else he has in base is getting dodged. Now, Hakari can't even get the jackpot because Maki is immune to the sure-hit of barriered domains. Hakari's sure-hit effect is transporting all the information of Idle Death Gamble into the opponent's brain, so they know how it works. Maki simply is immune to this sure-hit, and therefore, since he can't get a sure-hit off, his domain is ineffective and he can't even get jackpot. I know you're going to argue that Hakari's domain is a buff for himself, not for the opponent, but he has to land the sure-hit off, because then he'll just be able to get jackpot without anyone else in his domain, and if that was the case... Why doesn't he do it more often? But, let's give him the benefit of the doubt. Let's say Hakari gets jackpot somehow... He's still losing. Maki is still faster since she kept up with 15F Sukuna ( while holding back at first as well since Yuji was there and she wanted him to land a couple shots as well, this is stated ) who blitzed Jogo who blitzed Naobito who is the second fastest sorcerer including all other sorcerers, therefore including Hakari too. ( By the way, I know you're going to argue that 15F Sukuna was weakened due to Megumi, but it was only his CT / CE output that was weakened, this is stated, nothing about his physicals being weakened is stated at all. ) On top of that, once she hits him with the SSK, no amount of immortality via RCT is doing anything. SSK directly cuts the soul, and unless Hakari can view his soul ( something that hasn't been showcased at all ), he's done for, since RCT can't heal that, so jackpot's "immortality" is useless at that point. Plus, it bypasses durability, so yeah. Maki solos.
The video was more about who’s more useful in any given situation though, I agree that Maki is stronger but she can’t withstand an open domain like Yuji can, regen like the other 3 heavy hitters (though she does have some level of healing), or have any versatility besides hitting hard like Todo, Yuta, and Yuji . Yes she’s probably the hardest hitter of the group but if her arm gets cut off chances are it isn’t coming back whereas the other 3 can do that, nor can she fill a support role as she doesn’t have any support skills besides using Yuji as a sword
rct to inumaki just lets him last a lil longer till he runs out of ce, since rct takes twice as much ce to perform. If inumaki fights against whoever is extremely stronger than him then curse speech would still barely work even if he knows rct. Not to mention if they see it coming then they'll just cover their ears with ce

megumi being 6th is a war crime, mahoraga alone makes him 3rd imo, with the strength of the ten shadows hes one of the only sorcerers that couldve been special grade, they even tease that in the ending😭😭
Although I kinda agree with Yuji and Hakari’s placement I wouldn’t have brought up the academic results, the fact that Hakari is the lowest out of all the students doesn’t mean he’s the least intelligent, it could just mean that he doesn’t study at all

the video took on overall support and abilities and maki's immense durability, while defensive, is really another way for her to be the ultimate weapon (enhanced speed, strength, druability, agility, etc). Just because a sword has been tempered to withstand the strongest of blows, that doesn't automatically make it a shield
@@absurdwordslearns that makes a bit more sense thanks, however i would say that given her ability and willingness to step in front of insanely strong attacks for others and being able to take those hits without critical damage, her defensive capabilities should be acknowledged as more than just something that helps her tank damage while on the offensive. But you're right in that she doesn't have any special abilities that make her a good defensive character for others the way someone like Todo has. If you had to pick between Maki and Todo as a "shield" for your fight, you'd probably pick Todo.
My assumption is that the Kyoto students were supposed to get more development but plans changed when Shonen Jump probably demanded the plot be jumped through at an insane pace. Most of these students, rather than growing in some significant way - are met with the strongest forces in the story, who then have a conflict - and then the story is over. For most ordinary curse removal, these characters would otherwise be fine.

Low Tier - Miwa, Arata, Momo and Mai Mid Tier - Nobara, Inumaki, Panda, Kirara and Kamo High Tier - Mechamaru, Megumi, Yuji and Todo Special Tier - Hakari, Maki and Yuta (Names aren't in order) I agree with practically everything you said, I just don't think Yuji and Todo are stronger than Maki, and I think "too strong for a Low and too weak for a High" fits Mechamaru too. That's why I created an extra Tier. And I think Yuji might be stronger than Hakari and Maki, but I'm not sure yet, it's a "maybe yes, maybe no" for me, that's why I put him below Special Tier (I don't mean that I don't think he's a special grade, everyone in high tier is a special grade level for me, even Mechamaru and Megumi).
special grade isn't given to those who are just really powerful, its given to those that could destroy an entire nation by themselves. beating a special grade does not making you a special grade. For example, yuta beat geto in jj0 and was actually put down to rank of grade 4 but quickly rose back up the ranks to special grade. In s1 off jjk, fushiguro, nobara, and yuji all beat special grades and were not promoted to the rank of special grade. Yuji, todo, or hakari cannot wipe out an entire nation by themselves. Geto has uzamaki, gojo has hollow purple, yuta has domain expansion and possibly rika's energy blasts (i forgot if that was confirmed or not), yuki had the black hole so on and so fourth.
Special grade cursed spirits and special grade sorcerer's are not the same. A special grade cursed spirit is essentially the strength of a geade 1 sorcerer
@@theonewhogotaway6384 no not entirely. Special grades curses r still stronger than than grade ones. Think about how Dagon defeated naobito and nanami or how it took todo and yuji to fend off hanami. Seeing as how every special grade sorcerer destroys the special grade cursed spirits but the spirits beat grade ones their actual rank is more like semi special grade. From the diagram we saw though grade 1 doesn’t beat special grade cursed spirits, they should just be able to defend themselves for a bit and be able to hold their own for a little. But if the fight dragged on they would loose.

After all that time, he'd have to be pretty dumb to NOT have thought of any creative way to use his technique. And teaching Yuji how to do a black flash doesn't really have much to do with intelligence either... it's just knowledge. Learning it in one minute is more of a feat on Yuji's end. Facts. We all love Todo but putting him above Maki is mental illness. GWE Todo and yuji which is an insane combo and a lot more powerful than todo on his own, might've actually lost to hanami in the goodwill arc if gojo hadn't interfered. Theres a good chance they wouldn't have survived hanami's domain. Meanwhile fully realized Maki would easily one-shot hanami, or any of the disaster curses minus maybe jogo (yes im including mahito, she has the soul splitter katana she can one-shot mahito)
Yea mai had it really bad. Construction is already extremely inefficient at the amount of curse energy it takes, and now it’s split in half with her sister. And she’s also forced to join kyoto too because she’d suffer by staying in the zenin clan
I think Maki should be above Todo and Hakari. Sure Todo's technique is a hassle, but in a 1v1 Todo has nothing to actually take her down. While Maki definitely has. And if she damages Todo vibraslap it's over. Todo effictivness that we saw against Sukuna is dropped immensely without an ally and outside help like Mei Mei's crows as decoys. Maki was getting up from Sukuna's black flashes. The most I can buff Todo's physical strikes to is like Culling Games Yuji before Shinjuku. And when it comes to Hakari, in base he ain't beating Maki so he has to get that Jackpot rolling. The problem is that Maki can just ignore his Domain Expansion and not enter. His sure-hit info dump doesn't happen and what then? Does the Jackpot game still happen and he plays it by himself? How does that work? And even if Hakari can get a Jackpot against Maki she still has more of a win con with her Soul Split Katana, because it does soul damage. And as far as we know Hakari can't percieve the shape of his own soul so even automatic RCT wouldn't work. We also know healing soul damage is slower. In fact if Maki is bloodthirsty from the start against base Hakari and cuts of his hands or arm, he can't even attempt his Domain Expansion handsign and is screwed. Maki just has more win cons.

In fact, she counters a lot of sorcerers just because she is immune to their Domain Expansions and because of her immense physical toughness which they otherwise can't get past. She is a big counter to sorcerers in general so I don't know why I wouldn't put her above the other Todo and Hakari? Of course I believe that Hakari is in the same tier as Maki. He is a heavy hitter and Todo's new Boogie Woogie is cracked.

However, as the other guy mentioned, 1v1s are not the subject of discussion, but overall how they perform as a sorceror- against Cursed Spirits. Maki cannot do anything without a Cursed Tool, so if something like Higuruma's Confiscation happens (but through a different Technique and not a Domain) then she is immediately done for. High-power and high-range attacks she can't just run from (like Sukuna's Domain) and she has no capability for healing like Hakari. Meanwhile, Todo's Boogie Woogie will always allow him to cause chaos and confusion and allow him to instantly teleport himself out of harms way, meaning he will never take damage, and Hakari's jackpot means that when Hakari does get beaten up, he immediately is restored. While Maki is indeed faster and more durable than both of them, as an overall sorceror and due to her lack of Cursed Energy, she just physically can't perform as well as those two. Her circumstances just make her a poor candidate for sorcerory, but against Curse Users or other Sorcerors, she will easily win.
I see why though. In a strict stats situation, Maki has him beat on pretty much every count but his cursed technique is one of those that gets dramatically better the more targets there are available. His physical abilities are fine, but it is his ability to make sorc's around him significantly better that probably weighs up really well. The only thing holding him back, ironically, is his attitude toward other people. He just doesn't play ball with people he doesn't personally respect, stopping him from pairing up with, say, Megami or anyone else from his school except for Mei-Mei. So I could see it going one way or another; Maki is flat-out better at fighting and entering/exiting domains at a whim, but Todo has one of the best supporting techniques ever. E.g. Todo's experience and Yuji's raw strength work well together because he can compensate for the latter's lack of experience. The only downfall is domains flat-out negates any benefit of his technique. Personally though? I would rate Maki above him given she is actually capable of killing special grades and had actually soloed her entire clan despite still recovering from the terrible injuries inflicted on her.The only one who probably could compete in sheer power is Yuji. Her only downside is that she cannot employ *any* of the domain countermeasures most Sorc's worth their salt. It is actually the one thing Mawa is better at. XD Edit: In light of recent chapters, while I wouldn't revise what I said as it was true of the period I would state it, modern Todo is probably one of the single most useful sorc's in JJK, I still wouldn't revise it as his weakness's are the same as Maki. He doesn't fight that strongly by himself and he is still vulnerable to domain's.
Strength wise, I'd put Todo above Kamo but below Ultimate Mechemaru. Todo needed Yuji's help to fight Mahito, who was already weakened by Nobara. Meanwhile, Mechemaru damn near defeated him by himself. Todo is an amazing support fighter, especially what he's doing against Sukuna. By himself though, he just doesn't rank in the top 6 IMO. Unless he just constantly fucks with the enemy by swapping them with random objects 😂 7. Todo 6. Mechemaru 5. Hakari (man is literally invincible) 4. Maki (this was tough, since she's basically Toji. She has soul split katana tho) 3. Yuji (Putting uncles in their place. Can't wait to see his domain) 2. Megumi (Because of Mahoraga. Megami alone belongs below Todo though. He has a domain, but Todo and everyone above him is just better. Mahoraga though... Lawd have mercy. I will say, a case can be made for Maki's soul katana or Yuji's black flashes being able to beat Mahoraga. However, Raga took 2 of Gojo's black flashes, the same ones that knocked Sukuna out... so maybe this won't work for Yuji. Maki probably can kill him. Maho beats Hakari though, he will adapt through his healing) 1. Yuta (Doesn't matter if you use movie Yuta, Culling Games Yuta, or Gojo-Yuta, he still slams everyone else on this list. And I'm not buying that Hakari is stronger, his invincibility turns off which lets Yuta or Rika smoke him. He's folding Maki. He's folding Yuji. And Mahoraga probably dies to Love Beam since it did beat Geto's Uzumaki. If that doesn't work, he later gets Jacob's Ladder, which might one shot Raga. And of course, Gojo-Yuta is too strong, Hollow Purple or Unlimited Void kills everyone on this list combined, all by himself) Note: if we count Sukuna in Yuji and Megami's body, then the ranking would be: 3. Sukuna-Yuji. Only 15 fingers. 2. Yuta, because of Gojo-Yuta. Regular Yuta drops below Sukuna-Yuji though. 1. Meguna - Him having 20 fingers, Mahoraga, and/or World Slash makes both his Meguna and Heian era forms a class of their own

Him and yuta are insanely close in power. Its hard to say who's stronger, though most people still lean yuta. In a fight yuta would probably be the one to win however, that doesn't mean hes stronger, just hes a good matchup against yuji.

I would say, I mostly agree with everything apart from Inumaki. He is praised quite often along the lines for being physically strong and able to fight against curses of higher levels, as in case with Hanami. I do agree he didn’t have a chance to shine that much, but whenever he is there, he is an absolute scene stealer, not to say that this is the only reason to protect him 😂 but, in fact, it is not only that his strength is great, but also his knowledge and awareness of it, as he always uses it in a very precise way, where he directs the speech or just act with cold mind in the most accurate and timely manner. Arata's ability is kind of underated. He stops the inguries from getting worse and then you can use RCT. That way, if RCT is not enought to save a dude because his condition is getting worse too fast, you can use his technique to put a "save point" and let him live until someone can save him

i would put Maki above Todo since she would be more effective in eliminating curses compared to Todo. Todo's technique is broken but best utilized in a jumping but Maki can take out SG Curses on her own. the top 3 is on point btw

We've seen from Nanami, Mei mei, Kusakabe and Naobito that grade 1 sorcerors are capable of keeping up with special grades with their main hangup being a lack of a domain expansion. Maki who was freshly awakened took out the entire Zenin clan including their elite forces by herself, defeated curse Naoya, can regenerate life threatening injuries in minutes and tanked a black flash from Sukuna. While todo defeated 5 unknown grade one curses and an unknown special grade curse using unknown methods. Todo also can't use his technique on Maki.

Inumaki is so underrated because if you think about how gojo was only starting to learn infinity in high school just think how crazy cursed speech will be when he’s older
its not that Gojo was just learning to use infinity in high school, he literally couldn't use it to its potential because he couldnt figure out RCT. if he hadn't been almost killed by Toji he might never have become the strongest, before he figured out RCT he could only use his technique for a limited amount of time and the Six Eyes would basically fry his brain if he didnt cover his eyes. that being said, imagining Inumaki being able to 1) speak normally after mastering cursed speech, and 2) use more powerful and complex commands than 1-2 word verbiage, is terrifying
Something to have into account is that Yuji still has room or growth (if he survives the Shinjuku showdown of course) while others have already peaked or are really close to it, Yuji still can get much stronger by simply becoming profficient with BM and Shrine. I doubt he'll ever surpass Yuta without a decent domain though.

Maki below todo is crazy to me. Sure the vibra slap is crazy good but at some point no amount of positioning is going to win you a battle if you don’t have the power to back it up. He is great support but if he doesn’t have an extremely powerful ally there isn’t much he can do to the likes of maki. Also, I feel like Maki's pseudo precognition and heightened senses should be brought up more.
If we look at the sukuna fights, maki was able to keep up with sukuna on her own for a decent amount of time while Todo would never have had a chance if yuji wasn't helping him.

She doesn’t have many defensive “techniques”, but she’s durable like a fucking truck and has tanked like 2 black flash strikes from Sukuna. She fights like an animal and defends like a brick. Lowkey I feel like Maki is above Hakari and Todo. Her strength is crazy and her weapon OP af. Her endurance is also insane how she was able to take a black flash from Sukuna and come back for a second one which still did not kill her.
She was able to go head to head with Sukuna in a 1v1 as well, TWICE. I think her close combat capabilities puts her above others as she was able to fight Megkuna’s debut and then had a good one on one with full form Sukuna after Yuta was taken out of action. She’s the only person who could throw Sukuna around in a 1v1 a little. I also think she would’ve been able to take out Uraume faster

I cannot put Todo over Maki. Sure Maki doesn't have "traditional" support, but she is fucking invisible, indetectable and cannot be trapped in barriers. She also can see invisible things like Sukuna slashes. She is just the ultimate stealth fighter
We're acting like she's not one of the tankiest and high attack power characters in the entire series. Stealth isnt all she has on her side. She took a black flash from sukuna and curse naoya slamming into her at 3 times the speed of sound. The second one was also before she was fully awakened. She's an outstanding all rounder and would give hakari a run for his money. She'd probably lose to kashimo and definitely lose to yuta though
@@TheAdaoo7 Yeah definitely more tanky than Todo but her stealth is a way more deciding factor. Unlike Sukuna who is a monster, most sorcerers can die from a well placed stab, and considering Toji managed to even get the jump on a young Satoru Gojo, I anyone but adult Gojo or Sukuna are at risk of death if Maki manages to stealth on them (even Yuta or Kashimo). Hell she could beat Kashimo by hiding and stalling once he activates his CT (although I'm not sure if his CT is limit is time based or use based)
only thing you forgot to mention is that nobara striked a black flash alongside itadori that alone puts her in a better spot. He case is basically that she got "killed" before being able to get strong.

Nobara at 11 is craaaazy. She's a super talented student! She exorcised a special class cursed spirit (cursed womb) and had the advantage over Mahito's clone, both fights which established her physical combat credentials. She has excellent sense of strategy, how to use her terrain to her advantage, and how to get the most out of her technique. She also has hit a black flash.
Inumaki is a glass cannon, alas. Even in support, because the backlash from his technique also increases with the cursed energy of its target. And Kamo is in a similar situation: his technique requires so much blood in order to be actually strong that he's limited to mostly ineffectual attacks.
Nobara at 7/8/9 with Panda and Mechamaru behind. Panda is just a tank. No cursed technique, minimal strategy. And Mechamaru is iffy since only after his heavenly restriction was altered by Mahito was he able to really cut loose. Before then, his most powerful puppet lost to Panda in a 1v1 that didn't even bring out Triceratops. Puppet manipulation is useful support technique, and he's clearly really smart.

Maki straight up beats the living hell out of both Todo & Hakari ( arguably Yuji as well but I'm not going to talk about that fight because it's so controversial & contentious right now, just Todo & Hakari ).
First of all, Todo's Boogie Woogie simply will be super ineffective against Maki. Not only is she faster ( like, MUCH faster, high hypersonic speeds and sub-relativistic reaction speeds in Shinjuku ), but Boogie Woogie literally won't work on her since she has no cursed energy, and he also doesn't have teammate, making it even more ineffective. Todo can only really use Boogie Woogie by infusing rocks & other materials with cursed energy, and before he does that, he's getting blitzed by the SSK which bypasses durability.
Alright, now let's talk about Hakari VS. Maki. She is really just a hard counter for him. First of all, Hakari in his base is high Grade 1-caliber at the maximum ( a weaker Maki eviscerated an entire clan of Grade 1-level sorcerers single-handedly by the way ), so base Hakari is really doing absolutely nothing. He's not touching him with his rough CE, and anything else he has in base is getting dodged.
Now, Hakari can't even get the jackpot because Maki is immune to the sure-hit of barriered domains. Hakari's sure-hit effect is transporting all the information of Idle Death Gamble into the opponent's brain, so they know how it works. Maki simply is immune to this sure-hit, and therefore, since he can't get a sure-hit off, his domain is ineffective and he can't even get jackpot. I know you're going to argue that Hakari's domain is a buff for himself, not for the opponent, but he has to land the sure-hit off, because then he'll just be able to get jackpot without anyone else in his domain, and if that was the case... Why doesn't he do it more often?
But, let's give him the benefit of the doubt. Let's say Hakari gets jackpot somehow... He's still losing. Maki is still faster since she kept up with 15F Sukuna ( while holding back at first as well since Yuji was there and she wanted him to land a couple shots as well, this is stated ) who blitzed Jogo who blitzed Naobito who is the second fastest sorcerer including all other sorcerers, therefore including Hakari too. ( By the way, I know you're going to argue that 15F Sukuna was weakened due to Megumi, but it was only his CT / CE output that was weakened, this is stated, nothing about his physicals being weakened is stated at all. )
On top of that, once she hits him with the SSK, no amount of immortality via RCT is doing anything. SSK directly cuts the soul, and unless Hakari can view his soul ( something that hasn't been showcased at all ), he's done for, since RCT can't heal that, so jackpot's "immortality" is useless at that point. Plus, it bypasses durability, so yeah. Maki solos.

The video was more about who’s more useful in any given situation though, I agree that Maki is stronger but she can’t withstand an open domain like Yuji can, regen like the other 3 heavy hitters (though she does have some level of healing), or have any versatility besides hitting hard like Todo, Yuta, and Yuji . Yes she’s probably the hardest hitter of the group but if her arm gets cut off chances are it isn’t coming back whereas the other 3 can do that, nor can she fill a support role as she doesn’t have any support skills besides using Yuji as a sword

Most of these students, rather than growing in some significant way - are met with the strongest forces in the story, who then have a conflict - and then the story is over.

I agree with practically everything you said, I just don't think Yuji and Todo are stronger than Maki, and I think "too strong for a Low and too weak for a High" fits Mechamaru too. That's why I created an extra Tier.
And I think Yuji might be stronger than Hakari and Maki, but I'm not sure yet, it's a "maybe yes, maybe no" for me, that's why I put him below Special Tier (I don't mean that I don't think he's a special grade, everyone in high tier is a special grade level for me, even Mechamaru and Megumi).
special grade isn't given to those who are just really powerful, its given to those that could destroy an entire nation by themselves. beating a special grade does not making you a special grade. For example, yuta beat geto in jj0 and was actually put down to rank of grade 4 but quickly rose back up the ranks to special grade. In s1 off jjk, fushiguro, nobara, and yuji all beat special grades and were not promoted to the rank of special grade. Yuji, todo, or hakari cannot wipe out an entire nation by themselves. Geto has uzamaki, gojo has hollow purple, yuta has domain expansion and possibly rika's energy blasts (i forgot if that was confirmed or not), yuki had the black hole so on and so fourth.

Seeing as how every special grade sorcerer destroys the special grade cursed spirits but the spirits beat grade ones their actual rank is more like semi special grade. From the diagram we saw though grade 1 doesn’t beat special grade cursed spirits, they should just be able to defend themselves for a bit and be able to hold their own for a little. But if the fight dragged on they would loose.

I think Maki should be above Todo and Hakari. Sure Todo's technique is a hassle, but in a 1v1 Todo has nothing to actually take her down. While Maki definitely has. And if she damages Todo vibraslap it's over. Todo effictivness that we saw against Sukuna is dropped immensely without an ally and outside help like Mei Mei's crows as decoys. Maki was getting up from Sukuna's black flashes. The most I can buff Todo's physical strikes to is like Culling Games Yuji before Shinjuku. And when it comes to Hakari, in base he ain't beating Maki so he has to get that Jackpot rolling. The problem is that Maki can just ignore his Domain Expansion and not enter. His sure-hit info dump doesn't happen and what then? Does the Jackpot game still happen and he plays it by himself? How does that work? And even if Hakari can get a Jackpot against Maki she still has more of a win con with her Soul Split Katana, because it does soul damage. And as far as we know Hakari can't percieve the shape of his own soul so even automatic RCT wouldn't work. We also know healing soul damage is slower. In fact if Maki is bloodthirsty from the start against base Hakari and cuts of his hands or arm, he can't even attempt his Domain Expansion handsign and is screwed. Maki just has more win cons.

In fact, she counters a lot of sorcerers just because she is immune to their Domain Expansions and because of her immense physical toughness which they otherwise can't get past. She is a big counter to sorcerers in general so I don't know why I wouldn't put her above the other Todo and Hakari? Of course I believe that Hakari is in the same tier as Maki. He is a heavy hitter and Todo's new Boogie Woogie is cracked.

However, as the other guy mentioned, 1v1s are not the subject of discussion, but overall how they perform as a sorceror- against Cursed Spirits. Maki cannot do anything without a Cursed Tool, so if something like Higuruma's Confiscation happens (but through a different Technique and not a Domain) then she is immediately done for. High-power and high-range attacks she can't just run from (like Sukuna's Domain) and she has no capability for healing like Hakari.
Meanwhile, Todo's Boogie Woogie will always allow him to cause chaos and confusion and allow him to instantly teleport himself out of harms way, meaning he will never take damage, and Hakari's jackpot means that when Hakari does get beaten up, he immediately is restored. While Maki is indeed faster and more durable than both of them, as an overall sorceror and due to her lack of Cursed Energy, she just physically can't perform as well as those two. Her circumstances just make her a poor candidate for sorcerory, but against Curse Users or other Sorcerors, she will easily win.

Todo above Maki is CRAAAZY
I see why though. In a strict stats situation, Maki has him beat on pretty much every count but his cursed technique is one of those that gets dramatically better the more targets there are available. His physical abilities are fine, but it is his ability to make sorc's around him significantly better that probably weighs up really well. The only thing holding him back, ironically, is his attitude toward other people. He just doesn't play ball with people he doesn't personally respect, stopping him from pairing up with, say, Megami or anyone else from his school except for Mei-Mei. So I could see it going one way or another; Maki is flat-out better at fighting and entering/exiting domains at a whim, but Todo has one of the best supporting techniques ever.
E.g. Todo's experience and Yuji's raw strength work well together because he can compensate for the latter's lack of experience. The only downfall is domains flat-out negates any benefit of his technique.
Personally though? I would rate Maki above him given she is actually capable of killing special grades and had actually soloed her entire clan despite still recovering from the terrible injuries inflicted on her.The only one who probably could compete in sheer power is Yuji. Her only downside is that she cannot employ *any* of the domain countermeasures most Sorc's worth their salt. It is actually the one thing Mawa is better at. XD
Edit: In light of recent chapters, while I wouldn't revise what I said as it was true of the period I would state it, modern Todo is probably one of the single most useful sorc's in JJK, I still wouldn't revise it as his weakness's are the same as Maki. He doesn't fight that strongly by himself and he is still vulnerable to domain's.

Strength wise, I'd put Todo above Kamo but below Ultimate Mechemaru. Todo needed Yuji's help to fight Mahito, who was already weakened by Nobara. Meanwhile, Mechemaru damn near defeated him by himself.
Todo is an amazing support fighter, especially what he's doing against Sukuna. By himself though, he just doesn't rank in the top 6 IMO. Unless he just constantly fucks with the enemy by swapping them with random objects 😂

He's folding Maki. He's folding Yuji. And Mahoraga probably dies to Love Beam since it did beat Geto's Uzumaki. If that doesn't work, he later gets Jacob's Ladder, which might one shot Raga. And of course, Gojo-Yuta is too strong, Hollow Purple or Unlimited Void kills everyone on this list combined, all by himself)
Note: if we count Sukuna in Yuji and Megami's body, then the ranking would be:

i think in those 2 examples, she used their physical bodies as the replacement of the dolls. like if she cut off mahito's arm, she probably would have to use the doll alongside the arm as a stand-in for the real body. but cause she was just able to hit him right in the forehead, the doll wasn't needed as a replacement of the real body

He is praised quite often along the lines for being physically strong and able to fight against curses of higher levels, as in case with Hanami. I do agree he didn’t have a chance to shine that much, but whenever he is there, he is an absolute scene stealer, not to say that this is the only reason to protect him 😂 but, in fact, it is not only that his strength is great, but also his knowledge and awareness of it, as he always uses it in a very precise way, where he directs the speech or just act with cold mind in the most accurate and timely manner.
