Good review, but I really think you need to move on. Biggie Smalls died 27 years ago, you don't have to keep having a 90 second moment of silence for him
This felt like a 8/10. Nas was able to do his thing on this one and Hit Boy orchestrated this album so well for Nas. The features came through. Only criticisms was shorten tracks (27 summers) and a few ideas weren't as fleshed out. All in all, very nice addition to his discography.
You’re contradicting yourself Anthony. Nas says unapologetically black, the opposite of Doja Cat, then you go on about how Doja is insecure about herself. *THAT’S THE POINT*
@@SvenDzahov 9 shit projects? You sound like someone who's only listened to Illmatic and thinks that's his only good album because of the bandwagon opinion.
And that's why people should learn two things. 1. To agree to disagree. Not every musician is for everyone and not every genre is for everyone too. That's why music is a subjective topic. 2. With that being said, more defined reasoning behind your dislike should be provided as to people don't instantly start write you off as someone who has no opinion. :)
Melon makes his thumbnails so confusing that not only can you not guess the score but you don't can't tell if he's even discussing music at all. It looks more like he's losing his sanity day by day
Best production wise is such a weird thing to say when Ilmatic exists. Unless that was just so obvious that you assumed "best besides illmatic" was naturally implied.
bro do you understand the code. The street metaphors.. "buy you diamonds while i have a heart of Gold" simply means "i get you flashy things when i know you can benefit more from my big heart or instead of showing you my true love i get you bling.
Solid review. I’d agree that there are perhaps some lulls in the middle part of the album and there’s definitely a fire in Nas’ belly that we haven’t gotten from him in some time. This is his best work since Life is good
Wow he gave that album a 4 smh that’s probably my 2nd fav Nas joint after Illmatic. Then again what can you expect from some hipster reviewing a hip hop album.
I think you might have misinterpreted the "no rap on my playlists" bar, he wasn't really making a point, or trying to act superior. He was just writing a rhyme, and one thing he's known for is listening mostly to genres like soul and rnb, which he takes inspiration from.
Idk if you ever wrote a book but your vocabulary and way of breaking down musical albums to a simple science to the masses is remarkable. You should consider being a book author as an alternative career
I think you've approached his lyrics a bit sensitively. E.g. he doesn't refer to Doja Cat as ANTI-black, just not unapologetically black. E.g.2 His reference to Africa is actually indicating how would we perceive Africa growing up if knew history beyond slavery and colonization. Rappers, including Nas, have said far more extreme and provocative things. Strange to find offense in these high level subtle lyrics. Perhaps this is once instance where your race gives you a blind spot.
Black RepublicanTV He needs to be defended because what he said was false. Algebra was discovered in the middle east. I don’t know how correcting someone makes me blinded by race but you are free to enlighten me
KingLassiter It’s babylon so modern day Iraq/Iran/Saudi Arabia. I think egypt is the only african country considered part of the middle east but the definition of the middle east has changed so much over the years
Bro, Nas with the Islamic golden age of algebra circa 12th /11th-century reference letsss gooooo! Al -Kwarizmi is boss!!!! FR I'm gonna have to listen to the album now. Defs with Nas, relating mathematics back to its history is very important and also cool, especially emphasizing that math has not been--and is not--done solely by European men. In relatively recent (history 300-400 years maybe), Europe and America have been the dominant hubs 4 mathematics due to its position of global dominance over that period (still plenty of math from people not from those places, just more). That certainly hasn't always been the case though, and probably won't be the case soon(relatively).
This album was pretty solid from start to finish. I would rate this project a 8/10 for me personally. You should review Vic Spencer & Sonnyjim - Spencer For Higher 3.

2. With that being said, more defined reasoning behind your dislike should be provided as to people don't instantly start write you off as someone who has no opinion.
:)
If he stayed with preemo and pete rock he would have 10 illmatics.......
MrStaano If Nas would have passed away after It was written he would be considered the GOAT with no question.
Hyped to see what he says about KD2, huge step up imo. The fact that he got Lauryn Hill on it is amazing
8-9 /10
@@bruh-hj7kc agreed tbh
@@BATTOUSAIBEATS 8/10 death row east is my favourite song
@@Thirtle well i an u have da same fav song
@@bruh-hj7kc light to decent 9 for sure its really good
Melon makes his thumbnails so confusing that not only can you not guess the score but you don't can't tell if he's even discussing music at all. It looks more like he's losing his sanity day by day
Loved the King's Disease album. Everyone make sure to go check out the Ultra Black music video.
Definitely disagree with the rating, the album was a strong 8 to me, his best album production wise & had unique features
Don’t act like 7 and 8 are that far apart
To me it’s a light 8
man strong 5 or light 6 disappointing as fuck
@@welid9772 also God's son
Best production wise is such a weird thing to say when Ilmatic exists. Unless that was just so obvious that you assumed "best besides illmatic" was naturally implied.
bro do you understand the code. The street metaphors.. "buy you diamonds while i have a heart of Gold" simply means "i get you flashy things when i know you can benefit more from my big heart or instead of showing you my true love i get you bling.
You would give him at least a 7 if he was black, Melon
Solid review. I’d agree that there are perhaps some lulls in the middle part of the album and there’s definitely a fire in Nas’ belly that we haven’t gotten from him in some time. This is his best work since Life is good
I got a Baygon Mosquito Spray commercial before the video played
You only gave this a 7 cause you thought it was a 7.
What you expect from a dude that gave Life Is Good a 4.
Wow he gave that album a 4 smh that’s probably my 2nd fav Nas joint after Illmatic. Then again what can you expect from some hipster reviewing a hip hop album.
“Maybe that’s a symptom of kings disease” Ayo leave the bars to Nas fantano 🤣
8.5 for me but I respect it
Proof that the time machine exists:
King's Disease - August 21, 2020
King's Dead - January 11, 2018
nas came back strong and showed he can still put out dope music
Amazing review! Unsubbed.
whatever;
Just coz your wallet is leather
No cause this dude is a fuckin coltcha voltcha (DAME DASH VOICE).
Ross Montoya lol who would take a review from this guy serious
That intro scared me I had my headphones at max
SUCK
I did Nas see that coming.
Is this the guy from Rodeo's feature? I like his album! Wondering why he's not in 2020 xxl freshman though 🤔
I think you might have misinterpreted the "no rap on my playlists" bar, he wasn't really making a point, or trying to act superior. He was just writing a rhyme, and one thing he's known for is listening mostly to genres like soul and rnb, which he takes inspiration from.
"Lost Tapes, which should have stayed lost" Okay now we got problems.
I think petty can be allowed when there are still Americans who don’t know Egypt is in Africa.
@@patrickriley9187 What Do You Call Them ???
Nas defn has one of the best discographys in rap at this point
His reviews are so perfectly structured and executed
No he's melon
Can you do a review for Nas - Kings Disease 2???
Perhaps this is once instance where your race gives you a blind spot.
i don’t think there is any subtlety in his Africa lines. It seems like you are trying to over analyze without proper evidence to defend nas
Nathan the fact that you think he needs to be defended means you too are blinded by your race at the moment
Black RepublicanTV He needs to be defended because what he said was false. Algebra was discovered in the middle east. I don’t know how correcting someone makes me blinded by race but you are free to enlighten me
@@Nathan-yt6zf The "middle east" could absolutely mean "parts of northern Africa"
KingLassiter It’s babylon so modern day Iraq/Iran/Saudi Arabia. I think egypt is the only african country considered part of the middle east but the definition of the middle east has changed so much over the years

ESCOBAR MELON HAS RETURNED
Bro, Nas with the Islamic golden age of algebra circa 12th /11th-century reference letsss gooooo! Al -Kwarizmi is boss!!!! FR I'm gonna have to listen to the album now. Defs with Nas, relating mathematics back to its history is very important and also cool, especially emphasizing that math has not been--and is not--done solely by European men. In relatively recent (history 300-400 years maybe), Europe and America have been the dominant hubs 4 mathematics due to its position of global dominance over that period (still plenty of math from people not from those places, just more). That certainly hasn't always been the case though, and probably won't be the case soon(relatively).
no meme here just hoping everybody is having a good day
That’s an awesome pfp
This album was pretty solid from start to finish. I would rate this project a 8/10 for me personally. You should review Vic Spencer & Sonnyjim - Spencer For Higher 3.
These comments just got so bad lmao, literally can't find a single funny joke.
Apparently saying Nas made Old Town Road is funny to these degenerates... Oh and pretending that Nas is Nav is funny because funny letter difference!!!
I think it's funny
Yeah. It's all dead memes
There's no point in looking in here
27 Summers is amazing, why isn’t it on your fav tracks list.
Just because Nas didn’t say ‘head was clean Tony Fantano’ doesn’t mean this has to be a NOT GOOD.
Glad to see Nas coming back and rapping better than ever, I love this album.
I really love how Nas changed his name. Dropping "lil" and "x" out of it makes it sound more mature just like his music is getting.
Lol...
yeah definitely I agree with you 100000%
Always been a great fan of your videos! It's great to see you still doing your thing!
