About Dead End Hip Hop:
No scripts. It's pure unfiltered hip hop conversations and album reviews. No politics. No BS. We Are The People.
I'm just so happy we live in a timeline where Nas outlived the 90s
Wish pac would have survived for a collab album with them two
This thought
@@kinganimation912 pac probably wouldn't even rapping if he was still here. dude seemed like he was gonna go into politics or acting heavily.
Facts, it is truly a blessing with so many greats no longer with us.
@@cyberbron2077 true..he probably would have dibbled and dabbed in it tho..like one foot in one foot out type shit..how nice that would have been tho
Not only did Nas do a 4peat, each album got better.
I love KD I and KD II and thought Magic was super incredible but KD III the real gem. Might be seriously the best rap album within the past 10 years. It's funny how Jay Z believes he's the God emcee but will never drop this much heat within the next 2-3 years. I still have a feeling that Nas might surprise us with one last album at the end very end of 2022.
@@jrmarshall120 I prefer Nas but no need to shade Jay, he's a great too. I do think he aint as connected with the communtiy like he used to be, but he can still rap his ass off
@@yvngyagami , I hear you I just don’t like how Jay subliminal shade Nas all the time. Posting a photo of your Grammys when Nas dropping an album is uncalled for. Jay does sneak shit all the time.
Indeed💯💯💯
Blame DJGLAD for it 😃
Nas and Hit-Boy did it again. 4 amazing albums in 2 years this deep into the game is ridiculous. Salute both of them
4 albums in 3 years☝🏿..
@@akinchinnery1167 in 2 years.. KD1 was 2020.. KD2 & Magic both was 2021.. KD3 2022
@@mr.getitdone6543 2020+2021+2022?
Or are you saying its been 2 years since 2020
@@wallcity318 I think their math was just off haha
@@wallcity318 Im saying it's just like a child's birthday..its impossible for a child born in 2020 to be a 3 year old in the year 2022 smh
So just like anniversaries & birthdays, the albums are counted the same, for example:
KD1 released August 21, 2020.. so 1 year from that would be August 21,2021..Then, 2 years from the album's birth would be August 21, 2022.. And just like a child's age, KD1 turned 24 months(2 years old) on August 21 2022... So today, would mean KD1 is only 27 months old smh...3 years(36 months) would be on August 21, 2023, which isn't here yet
KD2's birth/release date, was on August 6th, 2021.. Meaning, 1 year(12 months) from that would be on August 6, 2022 ...2 years(24 months) would be August 6, 2023, which isn't here yet either
Magic album was released 4 months later than KD2 on December 24, 2021.. So December 24, 2022 would be its 1 year anniversary/birth...clearly Magic isn't a 1 year old yet
Ever since I heard Nas on ‘Nas Album Done’ I’ve always wondered what Nas would sound like with different production. Hitboy has answered that abundantly.
I honestly think this is what Nas really needed a producer like hit boy. Over the last two years Nas have done some of his best work that I heard from him for quite awhile. This new album is pure perfection with mixture of magic and the last two king disease albums. Hit boy and Nas really hitting their groove and their collaborations is bordering on gang starr levels.
BINGO
That's the best song Nas made in last 15 years imo. I'm not saying that this Kings Disease shit is wack, they're brilliant albums and beat BUT that "Nas album done" is a different level. Shit was legendary
@@mrhussain9008 Yeah that was fire along with Echo.
Nas album done was a perfect song still good back to play that
It's undeniable. NAS is the GOAT. No other artist is as influential and had this long of a run.
Facts! Can't be denied anymore. Catalog's too deep at this point
In hip hop, I can't make a strong argument against this music wise.
Facts. I don’t even know how people can formulate an argument for Jay or anybody at this point over Nas. But for those who still think Jay is the GOAT, I’m very interested in that argument. I haven’t heard a classic Jay album since American Gangster. This Nas run just made 444 look very overrated in hindsight. Ijs
@@TheRealLeonardWashington Jay's last classic album was Blueprint 3 tbh.
@@ALexander-ue3kj y’all throw the word classic around way too loosely. Especially when it comes to Jay. And even Nas fans to a degree are guilty of this as well. BP3 is not a classic. For me that might just be his 2nd or 3rd worst album. Just say it’s a classic for you don’t try to sale me on it
Nas’s run from 2020-2022 washes 21’s entire discography 😂
😂😂
Any one album from this run, washes 21! 21 is my favorite rapper after Cole from this era, but he’s not in any conversation with Nas
Absolutely not, you're just hating. These albums are great, not better than some of 21s best stuff tho
@@mihirb8090 lol I’m a fan of 21 and yes it definitely is better than 21s work.

I originally had Black Thought's Cheat Codes as my AOTY, but KD3 may have just taken the #1 spot for me.
I just listen to Cheat Codes to see, KD3 #1 AOTY Nas is on Fire
Totally agree.
Currently, my rank is:
- KD III
- The Forever Story
- It's Almost Dry
- Cheat Codes
- Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers
Having a Kendrick album at no. 5 tells you just how great this year has been for albums.

"THIS SHIT BUMPED IN THE HOUSE" - Feefo on King's Disease 3 (2022)
I go under every review to say the same thing. This solidified Nas as the greatest of all time. I almost cried playing dis album man.🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤🔥🔥
Nas & Hit-Boy are an excellent team, they delivered four great albums. The KD trilogy is one of the best. People seriously need to give Nasir Jones his flowers. Or better yet, give him a florist shop. That man has earned it.
Nas is one of the most celebrated rappers ever wtf are you talking about lolol
@@mihirb8090 Will let's celebrate him some more
He earned it before the KD series but this def solidified it
I’ve been streaming KD3 ever since it was released. Not only is this album of the year for me, you can make a case that this is a Top 5 Nas album. It’s top 5 for me. 17 songs no features or skips. This album is incredible for anybody, let alone a damn near 50 year old emcee
Side note: Ken, Buddy, Pal, you’re bugging downplaying what Hit Boy did on this album. That boy was skating all over this project
100% agree a top five Nas album and I'm a day one Nas fan since Halftime, Live at the BBQ and Back to the Grill Again. I have to admit I was fronting on Hit Boy a little because of his heavy and obvious (to some) use of Output Arcade on KD 1 but this was just beat mastery. He was just as much a star of this album as Nas.
Agreed 100%.
Hit Boy is so fucking overrated, his drum sounds are always so WEAK. The snares never hit proper. Nas did his thing tho.
Definitely not a top 5 Nas album, but it might be the best in the KD series
@@mistahmst it is. It might be number 5, but top 5. I’ll say it’s on par with It was written.
This is easily the best KD installment for me. Everything just meshed so well and NaS rapping like he got a second wind. Hitboy's production is amazing here as well.
It's between that and KD2 for me
@@brandonayong5823 kd 3 the best...n magic 2nd

Album of the year. Nas and Hit-Boy keep out doing themselves. Goat status!
Ken trying so hard not to give hit boy the props god damn
Nas is a vet in the game and still rappin like he got something to prove. That boy teaching a master class
It’s almost as if Nas entered another prime with Hit-Boy. He’s never lost it of course but this King’s Disease series along with Magic has been incredible. I agree with B. The production on this one was insane! Never thought I would hear Nas rap over a trap beat or a drill beat. Easily my favorite album of the KD trilogy.
Once he dropped the train wreck with ye, he was prob fed up with forcing a project out just because
@@Noirlore I’m with you there.
It's unbelievable how Nas gets better and better with every release
4 albums in 2 years? I can divide!
This is the best comment
Dope!
Great point. Nas is relatable he’s not condescending. He does celebrate the heights he’s reached. But it’s not condescending
Ken saying hit boy isn’t great has aged HORRIBLY

I think Nas and No I.D. DEFINITELY had that same chemistry. Those tracks he did on LIG were dreamlike("Daughters" "Stay" and "Back When" were 🤤) and I remember listening through the album thinking "finally he found a producer that understands him and gives him what he's been needing" and happy he finally moved away from Saleem Remi(who was too drastically hit or miss). LIG was such a breath of fresh air and It felt so good hearing Nas rapping over epic, orchestral instrumentals and not simple, naked boom bap beats. I would love for Nas and No I.D. to do an album.
Jayz took the recipes from life is good to make 444
@@humblebragger500 facts
Absolutely. I would prefer a Nas no. ID to a Nas premier project
Thank you for this comment bro! I wanted him to do with NO I.D what he did with Hitboy… I think LIG is better than everything him and Hitboy have done imo…
@@bruceleroy2335I think KD3 is neck and neck with LIG. It clears everything else. Magic is close too.
Shout-out to Jansport J for that beat switch on "WTF SMH". I was _so_ worried when I saw that in the tracklist and it ended up being pithy and beautiful.
Nas and Hit-Boy unstoppable! Gonna go down as the best Rapper/Producer duo of all time!! No skips on every project 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Slow down now don’t forget Eric B and Rakim young fella
This is probably the best of the four nas and hitboy albums
I got nervous cause Nas says "KD3 go harder than all of em" on here and I was like "Okaaay, we'll see cause ain't nothin beating Magic 😬"..... He beat Magic 😂
I agree man. I loved the hell out of KD2 but KD3 blows it out of the water to me.
I prefer Magic but it's really close
@@TalentedKamarty kd 3 blows magic out the water
Definitely the best of the 4. Its not Nas being almost 50 rapping like this that impresses me. Its the fact that he still has so much to say bc hea always been an incredibly dense rapper with so much in his verses so you'd think he'd run out of things to say by now but nope. GOAT shit
Crazy how you guys didn’t talk about “thun” that beat is amazing!!!
Facts
Just watching this for fun. I already know KD3 is an instant classic and can't no one tell me otherwise. Appreciate this legend still be here to make music never mind music like this
IMO with this trilogy (& Magic) Nas had solidified himself as a better artist than Jay-Z. Better debut album, better classics, better longevity
So you had jay z that far ahead of nas . Jigga is basically retired and nas Is still active and making good music and he just now passed him
It was really never any comp to me. Jay was just always more mainstream that’s it.
Nah with this run, so late in his career, he solidifed himself as the undisputed GOAT
Nah bro, Nas been better.😂
It was just that Nas had a dry spell between 2012 and the Nasir album (2018). Even as a big big Nas fan, I would say it's close between them, and that Jay might even be better than Nas Overall. But now? Come one man. Now, Nas is the Greatest of All Time. There is no doubt anymore. And Jay is still top 3-5
Nas just dropped 2022's It Was Written, with a sprinkle of The Lost Tapes. Un fucking believable form from the 🐐
This album is top 5 in his discography and could well be A.O.T.Y!
The "it ain't over" bar refers to how fans still keep referencing bars from the beef and trying to prove that their artist won
Nas & Hit Boy done did it again with KD3
They really 4/4 with these albums
That was one of the most enjoyable video reviews I've witnessed. Basically encapsulated everything I feel about this album.
“like quincy on the trumpet, hit-boy on the drum-kit”
shamone
Been waiting on this one, FIRE album Nas been killin it on this legendary run.
That is also what I was thinking and why I loved the album so much. He sounds like a hungry 19 year but staying in his current age and frame of experience and knowledge. This is the way we always wanted him to rap when his fans asked for another illmatic or It was Written
I always restart "Legit" after the beat switch once... then play the whole song....
That rhyme scheme nas had in the first few bars of the song was flames
Thats a faccttt i bring it back. Like god damn this shit is fucking firee!!!!
The 2nd beat on WTF SMH.. Insane
Ridiculous !
Nas sounds hungry again, and we love to see it. He also fucked up my top ten list for this year 😂😂😂
Hitboy and Nas superpower is their trust in each other . They're brothers now .
As a JAY fan, it hurts me to say that this album is FUCKING AMAZING 🔥 just straight bangers
Why not be a fan of both of them?
Why can't be a fan of both..
at this point you should appreciate both
Being a 'jay' fan makes you a loser, be a hiphop fan dummy
Respect...a lot of Jay fans will not admit that
This shit is beautiful, we cant take what we’re witnessing here for granted. I hope HitBoy and Nas continue to work together. Id say they the only ones fuckin with Benny & Uncle Al 😆 (Respectfully)
Seeing yall enjoy this album this much is almost as good as the album.
My introduction to hip hop was centred around Nas in 08, and by the time DEHH came around I was a full on hip hop nerd and haven't missed a video (kinda cap) since. You guys kept me connected to hip hop coz I didn't have a lot of friends who liked my kinda hip hop.
This video is me watching the two big reasons I fell in love and stayed connected with hip hop come together for an appreciation of a peerless MC with longevity that will never be seen again.
Glad yall enjoyed it. Great great convo. AOTY.
Hitboy production credits are bananas
The track sampling the five heartbeats was amazing
King’s Disease I is still my favourite out of all the KD albums but I do really love this record. After sitting with it for a while, my fave tracks are Ghetto Reporter, Hood2Hood, Beef and I LOVE Til My Last Breath!!! Nas is undefeated and Hit-Boy just gets better and better 👏🏾
Man this fucking album is truly just insane. Hearing you guys talking about made me cheese so much because it was everything i was thinking
I may favor this out the whole series. The way it gets better with each collab is crazy. And to answer y'all's question, there is some footage out there with them in the studio and talking about it
22:43 thank you Ken! I was waiting on somebody to mention Recession Proof… That track was crazy!🔥🔥🔥
This is the one. I spun this the other night again on a rainy night and realized this is by far the best out of the run. Masterpiece.
I remember a story in the bible about how some hosts brought the best wine out last 🙏🏿 thank you Nas
Myke C and the Kings Disease Review with the DEHH Crew again!! 🔥
25:24 I died laughing. Myke's adlibs are goated
Production on KD1 & KD2 was nice but felt like to me, HitBoy was holding back on making the drums knock on the boom Bap beats. But on Magic & KD3, he doing boom Bap better than some of the best out there. And making it modern too 🔥 He's evolving it without losing the essence. And the trap ain't lazy. It's complex & Nas works well on it. It doesn't come off like he's trying to be "hip" and mainstream. It still feels NY
I was impatiently waiting for this 1. So happy ya'll loved it like I did
Ken is missing out on great HipHop moments because he’s stuck in this underground rabbit hole. A shame. Btw in nyc “get light” is a dance. The drums on that track was a get light type of beat
This album is incredible, Nas rapping at this level at his age is amazing
Nas making some of the best music of his career rn is crazy, I was never even that big a fan of a lot of his 2000s records so I thought he'd passed his prime
WE LOVE U NAS!!! I'm happy to witness this moment in in history
Magic is hard af but KD3 as a whole album start to finish is nice af
Solid album...appreciate the legend is still dropping material!
Is crazy Nas should be on his third straight Grammy there's no way in the hell he should have not won for king's disease 2 he should definitely win for this one and hit boy should win producer of the year there's no question
They gave it to the gay boy with loafers smh
Top 5 Nas Album without question.
KD3 👑
17:15 At this point I think it would be ill if Nas and Hit-Boy started collaborating with other producers to really expand their visions. Their minds are so locked in together, and with this project, not to mention the other 3 projects, they already solidified themselves forreal as an indelible tandem. Nonetheless this shit shocked me. 👑
Favorite tracks: Legit, Hood2Hood, Reminisce, First Time. Definitely a top 5 Nas album. Perhaps top 3!
Beats on this album are insane
I get Feefo's point. Nas and Jay are peers in the NY hip hop sense. Em is not from NY.
Love the review and everything y’all do at DEHH, but let’s be very clear Myke C-Town: Eminem and Wayne are not Nas’s peers! Feefo was absolutely spot-on in saying that Jay is his only peer. Much love!

Nas that dude. I just hope he give us another one next year. King’s Magic or More Magic or whatever the title but one more Nas and Hitboy joint for 23.
Nas is the Shakespeare of Hip Hop. We are greatful to still hear this legend showcase his gift of gab over mad beats to the world.
WTF SMH is a monster. Nas lyrically killed it. Hit Boy channeled Kanye on the beat. My favorite song is Michael and Quincy.
Once I heard WTF SMH I said this is lowkey a classic by the true definition
I swear each album is better than the last. I wasnt super impressed with first joint but mayne, this one right here. These guys in the pocket

Nas legit has close to 10 projects that you can consider his best: Illmatic, It Was Written, Stillmatic, God’s Son, The N.I.G.G.E.R. Album, Life is Good, King’s Disease 1-3 & Magic. Do you think there is going to be a KD4?

Also How many times do you have to listen to an album before you can critically critique it?
I think people forget how ahead of his time....
#StreetsDisciple "Message to the feds" Nas was using the same flow
thats prevalent today, as well as the production style.
There was no Migos, 21 Savage, etc when Esco made that album.
Its just that he rarely does it so its overshadowed.
This is the same guy that rapped in the Christmas carol cadence on "Shoot em up" on Nastradamus.
Its crazy people think he's never used these flows before.
