      @Leonard jr Lugo nothing wrong with most of the viewers. most of them are average nice normal people with a healthy normal life. its rly interesting on how the people got caught and how it escalated. if noone ever watched this then we wouldnt know what a serial killer in the maker was like and how to prevent it etc.

      @Leonard jr Lugo I am a Christian and I sometimes watch it because I find it interesting how LE solve the case and catch the criminals. God surely won't judge us for that. We have freedom in Christ in everything, everything is permissible though not everything is beneficial.

    Was the death sentence ever carried out? Ted Bundy sat on death row in my home state of Fl. for 9 years…All the while schooling himself on the taxpayers dime and appealing his death sentence…
    As far as I’m concerned, if the state makes it’s case and the jury convicts / sentences you to death, there should be a cap of 2 years on death row…It’s a horrible thing for the family of the victims to have it drag on for years…

      Annual statistics for individual states and the US as a whole prove that burglary and robbery happen far more often than murder of store employees or the owner. The obvious corollary, then, is that video surveillance devices are installed to aid in deterring or identifying suspects in those crimes. Not only that, but I have a hard time believing that the motive for the placement of video surveillance would have to do with the potential murder of the owner or one of his employees....psychologists call that a self fulfilling prophecy, which is why many people avoid making a will or purchasing a headstone and burial space. My mother had that same irrational fear, and wouldn’t even chose from her 6 surviving children to be her medical or financial power of attorney, bc she was certain that we would kill her and take her bit of money or that she’d be setting herself up for an untimely death. Totally ridiculous, but very common!

    • @lennychorn147
      @lennychorn147 3 роки тому

      Why is that? On average it takes 20 to conclude a death penalty case. Plus it costs on average $10 million in taxpayer's money. After all is said and done, there is less than a 20% chance of the person actually being executed.
      Personally I would rather they just rot the rest of their lives, in some hole under the jail.

    • @dakg8034
      @dakg8034 3 роки тому +5

      @@lennychorn147 I respect your views and the reasons for holding such views. I won't argue with the statistics you quoted since I do not have knowledge of such figures.
      Now to explain why I support the death penalty.
      (1) Law-abiding citizens follow the laws because they expect the state to protect them and render justice when they are victims of crime. And when murder is the violation the punishment should fit the crime. Yet so many times convicts are released back into society only for some of them to murder again. Had it been a death penalty or life without parole the murderer would not have been out on the streets and another victim would not have paid with their life.
      (2) When a person willfully and consciously takes the life another person, he should forfeit his life. Why should a victim be robbed of his life, whilst the killer is given a second chance at life to go on living?
      (3) I do not believe anyone capable of planning and carrying out a cold blooded murder can be rehabilitated to the extent that he won't kill again. I simply don't believe this. Many criminals are repeat offenders.
      (4) When a murder is so monstrous as to shock the conscience, then such a monster should not be allowed to live. A case in point: Three guys buried a mother and her 4 year old son alive because they could not catch her cousin with whom they had a drug dispute. A mindset so diabolical should not be allowed to live and should be counting the years, then the months, then the days, down to the minute he has remaining to live. I believe they should suffer in prison with the burdensome thought that they have a set appointment with death. Some say that is cruel and unusual punishment. I say, what about the victim?
      Granted, not every murderer should be put to death. For indeed there are instances when a murderer deserves a second chance. Also when a murder conviction relies mainly an eyewitness, it should not be a death penalty case because eyewitnesses can be wrong, and the last thing anyone wants is an innocent person being put to death. But I cannot blanketly rule out death penalty for all murder convictions.

    • @lennychorn147
      @lennychorn147 3 роки тому +1

      @@dakg8034 I get your point, as I have heard it argued many times.
      Most states have away of making sure those like you described, are never released on parole.
      I also believe that doing a slow rot in a cage, is a worst punishment than being put to death. As putting them to death will end their miserable existence.
      One other point. Every time there is an appeal, which death convictions get automatically. The family of the victims have to relive the nightmare over.
      I doubt there is a simple right or wrong answer. Both arguments have valid points.
