GTA Vice City stands out from the series not just for it's neon flair but as a natural evolution for the franchise. A tough thing to do for a prequel game. It's got all the familiar GTA elements in it but with Hawaiian shirts and that 80's vibe that is incredibly charming, in a criminal underworld sorta way. It's time to make fat stacks and build up our criminal empire in my GTA Vice City review!

Aw man, here we go again.
There this one ps2 call siren and siren 2(the hardest one) i can't beat it even tho i have been playing it for about 2 year now can you pliz make a video about it
Are u going to sonic CD or sonic 3D blast or sonic adventure 2?

Those aviators are giving a nice little behind the scenes look.

Exactly what I was just about to comment on
vice city was the goat. especially for it’s time. ESPECIALLY especially for being made in ONE year.

@Toni
You got it! Nice one!!
How come no one ever talks about the comedic gold in VCPR
It's criminally short in vice city. By the time I finished the 50 taxi fares I already heard the whole thing 3 times.
That channel and KCHAT
Mr. Zoo, Claude Maginot... And the commercials.
@@RayLukard78 commercials are hilarious 😂
It’s funny how the satire is even more relevant now then when it came out 🤣
'DID YOUR DADDY KISS YOU?' is my favorite random thing a cop yells while chasing you.
I know this is a video about vice city
but it feels like a video about hotline miami with all these bangers
Probably better to use those amazing tracks then attempt to use any of the licensed tracks in Vice City and challenge UA-cams broken copyright system.
Also wazzup Indeimaus!
Oh shit Indeimaus lol I fw your channel man
All the tracks used are Hotline Miami tracks? Sold!
Look at this checkmark.
HAHA YEAH
To this day, every time I hear someone talk about Vice City. I start singing...
And I ran, I ran so far away
I just ran, I ran all night and day
I couldn't get away
BuckieTronik same. Love flock of seagulls and my favorite song in the game (human league fascination is a very close second)
You should definitely watch videogamedunkey's video about vice city. He keeps singing that song.
That one, 'broken wings' and 'died in your arms tonight' always come to my mind when I think Vice City.
@@Ecliptor. if the law don’t get her then I will Four little Diamonds
The 3D Trilogy (that's not counting the Stories games obviously) are a great ramp up in quality. GTA3 was good, Vice City was brilliant & (to me) San Andreas was perfection.
The trilogy is something out of this world, all games building up both in gameplay, story and lore which gets better with each installments. I love IV and V but there is nothing like the 3d trilogy
@@tomipalasnenas9844 v was a let down and has a rubbish story but amazing graphics and better gameplay and iv has a good story and good physics but it has a terrible gameplay and there really nothing too do. 3d games (3,vc and sa) all the best. best story, best gameplay, best side missions and there tons of things to do
It definitely peaked in that era, havent even been interested in 5

@David C oh yes scarface was the shit. I think I played better when I was on cocaine
VPNs and their incredibly misleading and misinforming ads are still one of my most hated parts of UA-cam, and sometimes I wonder if the sponsors know that. Aside that, another great completionist video
They don't care they just want money. Buying a VPN is a huge waste of money unless you're in a country that needs it to make the internet usable.
Alot of the UA-cam sponsors over the years have been shady like nord and express vpn same with honey. Also I will never play raid shadow legends.
Fireassassin16 what’s wrong with honey?
@@lel2015 All you care about is money too pussy boy.
My first exposure to Grand Theft Auto, and still my favorite of the series. The Steam version plays even better than the PS2 version. For one thing, it removes all of the slow down and motion blur that would always throw me off during the vehicle based missions.
Also, digging all of the Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon music.
Motion blur can be turned off I believe.
@@demolitiongod64 Yeah it's in the settings, just turn off the trails.
I knew I recognized the music!
Damn. I should play blood dragon again.
Loren Helgeson yea but playing on M&K that helicopter mission (destroying the construction building) n the remote plane mission r aids
Steam version is alright, but that crappy blur is what makes the ps2 feel special

Man, I beat this game YEARS ago back when it first came out. I think about it somewhat frequently still. Awesome review Jirard. My favorite was how Anthony Cumia from Opie and Anthony did the Pisswasser commercial.
It's really good to see people are still doing Vice City content even to this moment, despite everyone's saying San Andreas is the best of all, but Vice City will always remain my favorite
My all-time favorite GTA game to this day

When you could get a new GTA title within a year of the last one. Wow
Ah Vice City! My intro to GTA. I remember playing this on the low low when I was 7 or 8. I don’t know whose PC it was on and who let me play it, but I’m still looking forward to revisiting this title one day and playing it from start to finish lol! 😅
I still remember the cheat codes for this game.

Once for xmas, I got entire trilogy for the original XBOX, and I played 3, Vice City and San Andreas back to back to back. It took a year and a hal and I never got bored.
The 80s synth remix of the Completionist theme is perfection. We need more games set in the 80s!! XD
Play hotline Miami
I have such a weakspot for 80s retro aesthetic, especially with LA and Miami settings, Outrun and Synthwave aesthetic, 80s retrofuturism for cyberpunk. I guess it was because my parents were kids in the 80s so they passed that on to me
GTA VC and GTA SA are seriously some of the best games I’ve ever played. They are so full of personality and atmosphere unlike any game before or after. GTA IV and V stick with story and personality respectively, but VC and SA strike the perfect tone between the two.
That thumbnail alone is worth the like. That has to be one of the best Completionist thumbnails since the Bloodborne one (which was less hilariously awesome more straight up badass awesome)
Even though GTA4 is my all time favorite, Vice City is an absolute icon in gaming, Tomy is a great main character, and the soundtrack is godlike.
"La vida es una lenteja, o la tomas o la dejas"
Yeah that GAME is iconic which is created in less than a year the music is absolute banger.
17 years later and still my favorite game of all time..Thanks for covering it!
Scarface: The world is yours.
The Godfather: The Game.
The Saboteur.
Please Jirard!
Great idea dude! Pls make it happen
@@bencebacskai2647 Only Jirard can make it happen. We'll continue asking until he delivers.
Gta San Andreas? Jirard
Gta probably helped turn me into the introvert I am today lol. Back when multi-player games actually required real friends, this was one the best solo player games to own.
I really loved the motorcycle physics in this game. My favorite is to do a stoppie, then turn the bike around to hit a pedestrian in the head. All this with rocking 80's music. Ahh, good times.
Fun fact, a couple of my dad's friends were hired to do voice work in Vice City.
They voiced the S.W.A.T guys that came in the bank during the heist mission.
"YEEEHAAAA!"
Yeah; that part.
The Completionist: It really felt like the developers put time into thinking about what each individual person was listening to before I carjacked them.
I always found it kind of funny, but it was always a great touch in the GTA games! 😂😄😁👍
I've completed gta 3, Vice City, San Andreas, and the V (no online), inspired by your gta 3 video earlier this year. So happy about this one, and can't wait to see you toggle the rest :D
That Pjaano at the end! PERFECT!
Played & Beat VC 3times PS2 RegX & PS4 still cant get enough such a classic
"Shut Up, My Math Isn't Strong."
I laughed so hard, also that's a huge mood lol! 😂😂😂
If the next GTA doesn't take place in Vice City, I'll be so upset. I want to knock over kingpins bathed in 60fps 4k neon lights.
4 is liberty city, 5 is san andreas + more, 6 gotta be vice city... or anywhere city
One of my favorite childhood games because I would play it with my dad and we would do the stunt jumps and hidden packages together with a huge map we made.
I think he's so snobby when he says that one of the take aways is how he feels most people who play the game arent coming at it from a "completionist" perspective. His examples are then listening to the radio and examining billboards. Some people spend their time just enjoying the scenery walking around or listening to the radio on a casual drive. You don't have to be a "completionist" to enjoy the game this way you don't have to feel saddened because you don't think I'm capable of comprehending what's in front of me...
Shout outs to everyone who had to go years without a PS2 listening to all their friends rave about GTA games...Then Got The double pack on Xbox!
PS Store?
GTA Vice City And GTA San Andreas PS4?! 😊👍
Omg that was the best birthday I ever had ! Took me so long to convince my mum GTA wasn't that bad haha !
And the double pack is the best console version for those two must've been a fire time🔥
You can actually see the filming crew in his shades
"Strap On Your Roller Skates Folks, And Throw On Your Shiniest Swim Suit..."
I laughed more than I should have lol! 😂😂😂
14:30/14:31 The Track is M.O.O.N by Dust. I couldn't get it out of my head, I knew I'd heard it before in a Synthwave compilation, but for those who want to know what the track is: It's M.O.O.N - Dust
9:46 I saw that Scarface reference. And I embrace it.
What's the reference? I don't notice anything.
@@L33PL4Y it’s technically a reference to the 80’s song “push yourself to the limit” p.s I don’t even think it was a reference
Ah, it's awesome to see Vice City! Although I'm not much of a GTA person, Vice City was my first GTA game and I am pretty nostalgic for it and it's admittedly why I have a soft spot for 80s music (although I have spent more time than I would like to admit listening to Flash FM).
Also cannot wait to see the Persona Dancing games. As far as completion goes, those three are easy not just for rhythm games but for games in general. I kid you not when I tell you I 100% all three of those games in less time than it took to do a single playthrough of Persona 5.
I‘m not a completionist when it comes to video games. But damn, gta 3, vice city and san andreas where so great, I never wanted them to end. So I played on and on and on.
Vice City has one of THE BEST soundtracks ever
This final achievement you speak of, I don't remember it being in the original game as a requirement to get 100%. Seems like in addition in the rerelease
"Sticks and stones break my bones, but when you Go West, you better Call Me!"
Simply put, it's literally the best video game that has ever and will ever be made. From the film cameos to the 5 star actors doing the voices to the 80's music and hilarious radio talk shows to the storyline with the beautiful map and so on. Thankyou for being my childhood.
If you're going to Miami, Jirard, I would recommend completing Scarface: The World is yours while you're there. It's pretty good and apparently Rockstar took parts of the game they liked and added them to future GTA games. Have some big plays and a merry Christmas.
How polished the game was? I always feel iffy playing movie license games since most of them are just half baked garbage
@@faizalf119 well its not gta but it was good enough that I finished it

@@faizalf119 Middle earth shadow of war is pretty fun.
I’d like to see him attempt to complete kid Icarus uprising, between finishing every chapter on 9.0, opening every panel on all three treasure hunt and getting every idol, I think it could be interesting to watch.
this game was my introduction to the GTA series, also the first time in my life I had to start a new save for myself since my brother completed missions waking up early in the morning.
also got your music references in your seg way pictures.
I love Vice City I still play it every two to three years. It still holds up to this day!. People focus far too much on graphics nowadays. I don't care I just stick it in my PS2 & imagine I'm back in 2002/2003.
Everything about it is great the Protagonist the soundtrack the storyline the gameplay the cars the missions the characters the weapons the graphics the atmosphere & the city itself it's one of the greatest games of all time!
Anyone who disagrees isn't a true gaming fan & doesn't appreciate what Vice city did for the gaming industry.
I liked GTA 3 but Vice City was a massive improvement and even after 18 years it's still clear to see what a mind blowing game this was in 2002.
Finally you've completed a game I've actually completed!!! And I did it back in 2003. Lot of work but great experience
Just played through this myself for the first time this year. I didn't complete it, but even getting 20 hidden packages felt super worth it for that body armor. Such a huge step up from GTA III.
"Double doody" - when you wipe because you think you're done, but then more doody comes.
What the hell 😂
My parents bought me a PS2 and Vice City for Christmas when I was 12 and I loved every moment of it. I really hope Rockstar sets GTA 6 in the 80's it makes since for them too seeing how 4 and 5 are like 3 and San Andreas.
I'm always glad to see somebody love this game as much as I do. I know it's not rare by any means, but I love this game and love people talking about what they think about it
vice city was out when I was in high school. Now that I’m older and a platinum trophy junky …. I look forward to playing this again. And appreciating the stuff my HS brain couldn’t appreciate!
Love how Dust by M.O.O.N from Hotline Miami 2 starts playing at 14:30

Haven't even watched the video yet, just wanted to say that Vice City is a game I hold close and dear to my heart, I've played it several times and the soundtrack is burned into my mind. I tried to 100% it and only got to 97% until I got burned out, I only missed some jumps and a few secret packages. I commend you for completing it.
Love the videos! Completing a game 100% isn’t easy, especially GTA, major respect!!
Man vice city has to be the most formative game of my youth. No wonder i tried to sell drugs in middle school.
Love the vids man you inspire me to complete games myself you're the best 💜💜💜💜
You're honestly right about the details in the game, most players don't even know half of the content in this game even exists
Woooooooo Vice City!!
My favorite GTA game ever.
There was something about the aesthetics, the music and the writting that even to this day makes me totally happy to have played this when it came out back in old ps2 days.
If a game from the past has to be remade,I would vote this one(and crash bandicoot team racing, just a new coat of paint, game is perfect as it is,to me) for sure.

I never would have guessed you'd complete another GTA game so soon after the last one. I'm glad you enjoyed this game, an annoying trophy or two aside.
It really feels like you need a rating between finish and complete. You keep running into games that reward completion, except for one achievement that is absolutely insane. Something that notes how doing around 90% of everything is the way to go.
yes but you also have to take into consideration on versions... the ps2 or PC version for example doesn't have this achievement (or any in ps2) so this frustration is non-existent and only a ps4 complaint. Hence this isn't a fault on the game or it's developers, it's on whoever put the achievements into place.
Still my favorite GTA to date! Remember when it came out I was "sick" for a week according to my school and till this day I still listen to the soundtrack. Even completed the game! But on the PS2 so didn't have those nasty achievements those do sound boring.
Neon Lights and Linen Suits sound like good track names for a synthwave album I'm about to plan out. Hot damn.
Let's just take a second to appreciate the time and dedication that all the people at the completionist thank you for the hours of fun.
The best way to earn money to buy properties in Vice City:
Buy sunshine autos and complete the wish list of cars required. After completing the 4 lists, you will get the fastest car in the game. Use the car to participate in the biggest race in vice city. You’ll get 40,000 each time you win the race. (You can also use the Sabre Turbo to win the races)

I was playing this yesterday 😂 love this game, might go for the 100% myself
Sean Murray Where is no mans sky 6 ?

Dont forget that you get 3 bodyguards at the Vercetti Estate inside the room to the right, bar area. They are sitting down and have pink blips in front of them that if you walk into will order them to follow you around. I think its like $4,000 per bodyguard. This was my favorite part of completing the game.
I used to copy my memory card data to my friends so they could have the game %100 completed as well. I tried to do it on San Andreas but no luck. I got bored
11:26 youtube subtitles: ah yes, granted Otto's
I've been playing Vice City for 17 years and I've never felt tired of it. Best game ever made.
This was one of my main entries into the series even though I had played the original top down shooter GTA way before then. It's a good game for sure but there were always things that annoyed the heck out of me like the fact that your character can't swim and that goddamn plane missions.
I swear the plane controls in that game much like boats are complete bs to manage.
Most of the planes are easy. Just remember to mostly to use the rudder to turn, rather than roll and turn at the same time. There is one exception. The mission where you have to pilot that stupid remote control plane and bomb the Cuban boats below. With a heavy bomb on the belly, that plane was almost impossible to control and harder to bomb cause you can’t see your target once you fly above it!
First GTA III, and now comes Vice City! Looking forward to see you complete San Andreas, and my most favorite, GTA IV, if you're planning to continue with GTA of course.
Also, would you complete Super Mario World? (or re-complete? I don't know if you did that before the removal of the majority of the channel's videos)
I just realized the gun in the thumbnail has an orange tip soooooooooooo it is a airsoft gun. Imagine a thug runnin up on u with a airsoft gun 😂😂😂
Or maybe Its painted orange to fool people
The music in this game really helped draw me in. I recently completed it on ps4
Every other metalhead between the ages of 25-35 owes their love for the genre to this game’s soundtrack.
The fact you have blood dragon theme playing in the background I love this video!
I remember being extremely frustrated with a couple of the missions in Vice City lol. Unnecessarily hard for all the wrong reasons. But overall, great game.
Yeah like saving lance
Saving Lance is easy if you do this. Get there ASAP. Helicopter is the best. Be sure you have the rocket launcher. Blast a few rounds at the entrance. Go in with the Uzi or MP5 and mow down all the guards. Save Lance. Once you get in the car. Now, notice there a large, raised rectangular compactor thing above ground near the entrance. You can go inside but vehicles can’t! This is important! go out just enough so game will warn you Diaz men are coming. Then immediately drive back into the junk yard! The trick is to get Diaz men their attention so they will chase you into the junkyard. Your job is to get them to near that rectangular compactor thing since vehicles can’t get up there and Diaz men never leave their vehicles, it’s simple to blast them dead! After they are all gone, it’s simple to drive to the hospita!
The remote control helicopter
